I keep hearing people say dont sell with Ebay but I have not heard from someone who has actually had a charge back happen.
Is there a safe way to mining hardware on Ebay without the risk of a charge back? Im thinking that I make a video of me showing the machine working, being packed, and provide a tracking number? I have been told that paypal will not accept a video or pictures, has anyone run into this problem?

Add these two:
0 */3 * * * /etc/init.d/cgminer restart
0 20 * * * /sbin/reboot
first one, will restart cgminer every three hours.
second will restart entire miner every 20 hours..
This way i have realised to keep some of my miners online better (those on wifi tend to lock and go m.i.a after a while).
Thanks, this has been working great for me. Its been keeping me ~1% HW and 65-70gh/s. I have the unit half out my window here in NorCal keeping it nice and cool. I think the auto restarts are helping keep the machine stable. Thanks again. |

Done.   Nice! I think that looks better anyway, like having the fans as a lid of sorts, or at least a neater looking top surface. Also gives easier access to dust filters on the fans, should people decide to install their own.  So, I imagine it would be better to blow the air down and not pull it up? I am not sure of the effect this is going to have on cooling (as opposed to blowing across the blades from the side with the back end opened.) Barntech, is the cooling much different with the current heat sink direction or is it negligable? A bit of a concern as you mentioned cooling is going to be important with overclocking. Congrats so far and good work in bringing it all together. You are in KNC's class (No BFL or Avalon!) LOL IAS ps - BTC is looking SUPER DUPER BULLISH guys. Really, I'm not gonna trade this. At 1600 or so for the mini plane, a BTC price of 400-500 should break us even. That is going to happen before April imo. If I could pay in USD rite now I would. Its hard to come off BTC now when I wont break even in BTC. I do agree with what your saying here though this has been an awesome project that I have kept a close eye on for some time. I just wish I got in when they where still accepting paypal. Also what I know about fans from the experience I have with HVAC, fans are more effective when pulling rather then pushing. But Im not sure that applies when its an open system since I am used to pulling through closed ducts. Although when setting up a passivise intake I always pull air through the room. |

My mini uses the exermax 850w Gold PSU can I push to 450mhz? I am getting low temps at night around 40c at 409mhz with 80% fans but Im wondering if its safe to push the unit that hard I am just trying to see the limits of this machine.. I am not seeing hash rates over 55gh/s below 400mhz on the firmware Im running (20130821). I have tried a few different versions but I do not see the same results that others post. I would love to be running at 345mhz but I cant even break 55gh/s its more like 50gh/s. I tired this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=240810.msg2552362#msg2552362 with no luck. At 409mhz I peak at 70~gh/s but its more like 65-60gh/s with HW <2%  This pic is with --quite not 80% fans. I have seen temp 1 as low a 7c but hovers around 11c mostly. Sorry if this is not the place for this. I did see a post in this thread yesterday that had a few links to OC threads but I could not find it again today. The only numbers that are important to you are the ones on the pool, disregard all numbers you see in the miner stats. I think your hardware increase when heat goes up to much, and thats when you are reaching low results.. stick to 375 on --avalon-auto i think is best. (skip quiet). I get 60gh on mines.. but i restart cgminer automatically every 4 hours. It keeps hw errors low. (0821). Ill give it a shot at 375mhz on --avalon-auto for a few hours. How do you scheduled cgminer to restart every 4 hours? Ill have to read back through the tread for that one. But the 65-60gh/s is what my pool reports at my current settings and at 1.5% HW. When I remove the --quiet the machine runs cooler so I assume my errors will drop with the temp. Thanks for the feedback |

No doubt, there are always SHA alts thankfully. I sense a lot of alt mine-n-dump coming... That's exactly what I was going to say. Time to look into a PPC or other alt-SHA-coin to direct my eruptors to, I think. I forget the site, but there is one that shows the most profitable coins to mine. BTC is usually #1 from when I checked. So, even mining a fraction of a BTC and then buying some PPC is usually better than mining PPC. But, if you find a coin you believe in, then mine it for sure. I have the tab open with that page but have never set it up yet. Lol it really is huge I have been reading through it for a few days just trying to learn as much as I can. I just got the unit yesterday and because of all the great info here I have saved myself the embarrassment of asking a few simple questions (minus this one ). Again thanks for all the feedback. I have to say, this is one of the best forums I have had the pleasure being a part of. Everyone (for the most part) is so helpful. I think I may be pulling to much power off this breaker and that may be causing errors. I keep seeing the lights dim  Im going to move to another room. while it's not very safe, it should not matter too much as most switched power supplies will adjust for a big swing in input voltage After moving to another breaker and running for a few hours today Im still seeing crazy HW errors. I opened up the case and checked all my connections everything is nice and snug. Avalon mini batch 2 Firmware 20130821 --avalon-auto 1h 20m 6s 60-53GH/s 2617 accepted 85 rejects HW 850 Frequency 375 Fan1 4080 temps 27 49 47 32% HW errors is crazy high. Any suggestions? Whats the difficulty setting at the pool your mining with? You are using the Diff1Shares as your total shares right? 850 might not be as bad as you think. Mine is at 2538 HW with Diff1Shares at 388259 so 388259+2538=390797 and 2538/390797 = .65% if I'm doing my math right. Here is what I changed to set at 400mhz and 80% fans  |

If you put it on --avalon-auto it should find the sweet spot of best speed with < 2% HW errors Thanks I just did that rite before you answered and it seems to have picked up a little speed and stabilized some. How many days does pre-order come before it's in the stores?

If pre-orders are sold out, than it's likely that there won't be many unreserved consoles on the shelf for some time. Pretty common thing, can't believe you haven't heard of it. Was that way with the 360, wii, and the PS3 I think. Hm, well I never actually bought the console the day it came out. Would that be for all stores? Besides, I could wait a few days, I wouldn't pay extra for that :p well, i thing that it is good thing to wait not because of money but because of OS/firmware bugs..
