Though I bought most of my ETH for ICO, the first time when I bought it, I wasn't aware it is being used as payment for ICOs.
I bought ethereum when it was only worth $16 and icos weren't really around (or at least weren't so popular). I sold ethereum when the ico craziness was around and am rather happy because of that. The coin is quite good but security problems are not so nice. I hope we'll see some improvement in a week after the switch to pos we've been waiting for. Yet I think that as for an approximate amount of people buying eth solely for icos - it must be about 80% of all the purposes, because the price growth is mainly based on icos being built. $16 ?! ETH is very good coin after BTC in history of cryptocurrency .i guess it will touch 1000$ in coming few months
ETH will go up, but unlikely hit $1000 in the coming few months. Maybe $600. Agree I don't think also that Ethereum will hit $1,000 by the end of the year maybe the highest will $400 and that's just it. Not unless Vitalik will release something very interesting. Correct. Unless Ethereum releases something that can scale, it won't go to $1,000. If they do, then it will go past $1,000. Ethereum can't move by itself without the support of the whole market. And I don't believe it can catch this amounts this year. It will jump next years maybe up to $2k but there is still time for this. $2k? What are your reasons for such a bullish price? |

This is what I'm unsure about. Long term I think Eth will be fine and will massively increase, but short term I don't know. There could be a huge drop, but equally it could all pass with no damage to the price. Very difficult to predict the market.

If Ethereum doesn't solve scaling, then it won't massively increase. indeed guess the price of ETH is difficult. but for this year ETH price is quite high I think next year ETH will get price increase. because ETH is getting popular and many are using it. I hope so! Now Ethereum it's close to $300 maybe it goes up these days. IMO this is because it's so closely coupled with the fortunes of BTC. ETH is struggling to break the resistance level of $300. Will wait to see new ATH. It's going slow and doing well just relax. That's one thing I don't like about the big coins. They have become correlated. They tend to move up and down together, like stocks. |

This is extremely difficult to answer. If it can solve its scalability problem, then yes, it is a good long term investment. If it does not, and a competitor solves the problem, then Ethereum will crash. |

I believe the bitcoin price will go up to 5000$ soon. Price for other valuable altcoins will rise up accordingly. So I sold my cars and invested to the cryptocurrency.

Yes it's true that Ethereum and Bitcoin values fluctuate around the same!
But this is nowadays. There aren't many news about Ethereum!
We already have seen in the past ETH running and Bitcoin stable!
When some news come out you will see ETH running and BTC stable.

If more good news come out about their projects to improve scaling, ETH will rally.
If some news come out from competitors, such as EOS, ETH might take a hit.
