461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: March 14, 2024, 09:14:38 PM
Depends on what is the game you decide to play
And regardless of that there’s a component in gambling that few consider which is bankroll management, you need skill for doing that and emotional control to avoid blowing up

You are very correct because we have various ways of gambling both offline games, board games, online games, casinos and all that even physical gambling that involves two people betting against each other like playing table tennis or board games like snookers, these type of games actually requires skills and not luck so if you are not skillful you can't win at all especially when your opponent is more skillful than you. Sometimes emotions are involved in physical gambling like when you know the person that you have lost your money to while gambling but yet gambling of any kind shouldn't be attached with emotions.
462  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: NLC demands N794,000 minimum wage for workers in South West on: March 14, 2024, 07:52:09 PM
NLC is even another body that is giving us problems in this country because they don't stay on their ground as most of the top leaders in the NLC oftenly compromised the interest of the labour for their selfish interest though demanding a minimum wage of #794,000 is indeed laughable and without base, they should rather demand for reduction in the quality and standards of living so that their basic salary can be of more value instead of seeking for something that can never be achieved.

464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 09, 2024, 10:32:00 PM
Arsenal did win, but it was obvious because they played much better than their opponents. I think tomorrow is almost the most important game of the season in the whole league, because in fact someone can drop out of the championship race, or leave Arsenal in first place, if there is a draw, because Arsenal have a much better goal difference than Liverpool.

I settled down to watch the match between Arsenal and Brentford today and I saw team spirit among Arsenal players because even when Brentford equalized the goal before halftime, Arsenal players were so determined and they played very well and was able to win at last and a lot of Arsenal fans around me were so happy that Arsenal have moved to the top of the table pending when Manchester city and Liverpool will play their match tomorrow and if either of them wins then Arsenal will be dethroned but if the both clubs settle for a draw then, Arsenal automatically remains at the top of the premiership table.
465  Other / Off-topic / Re: Failure is a step to success on: March 09, 2024, 10:24:39 PM
I think there are those who lived this experience. How did you overcome failure ? and what is your advice to motivate those who are frustrated by failure?

Actually I use to tell people that until you tried and fall or fail, you won't be open to more experience in life because as soon as you fail what you do is to restrategize and do it in a different way and until you fail you will never embrace how lucky you were to be successful in life or have value for yourself when you achieve success. Failure makes us to be open to more ideas that we may not have gotten had it been we became successful on a little trial.

When we fail, we panic and feel as though we are unlucky but failure is just a way of saying keep trying and you would achieve positive results after several attempts. So no matter how many times you've failed, just keep pushing and apply wisdom, do it in a more different way from the way you've done it and failed in the past then you are likely to achieve success.
466  Other / Politics & Society / Re: POLITICS AND LIES on: March 09, 2024, 10:14:20 PM
Politics is not about lies it just so happens that a lot of politicians running these days have lived dirty lives. They are maintaining an image in order to attract people and make the people think that they are the wisest choice to vote for and elect in the position.

You are very correct about politics not being about lies but rather the politicians running the politics are the one painting it as if it's all about lies because after they must have made a lot of campaign promises just to lure the citizens to vote for them after which when they are elected in office, they don't redeem their campaign promises anymore but most times, I blame the electorates because they shouldn't vote because of campaign promises but rather vote someone who has held a public office in the past and has a very good record.
467  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC created new ATH before Halving: are you surprised? on: March 09, 2024, 10:03:14 PM
BTC reached a new ATH of 69,170.63 USD today, marking a significant moment in its history. This is a surprising development, as BTC has traditionally never reached a new ATH before the halving event.

BTC price setting a new price before halving may seem as a surprise but we need to understand that it was expected in the sense that after Spot Bitcoin ETFs was approved, every one was hopeful that the price of Bitcoin would reach a certain milestone since a lot of investors developed interest in Bitcoin after knowing that they would get access to Bitcoin spot prices directly without having to buy.
468  Economy / Economics / Re: Save money today so money would save you tomorrow. on: March 09, 2024, 09:52:42 PM
As an entrepreneur, one of the key factors that could secure your way to success and save you from falling back to where you started is savings.

Savings is a future relief to any one who wish to have a better living when you will not be strong enough to work too much again and saving money also help in times when your business or a place where you get your earnings is not coming regularly as before then you can use your savings to sustain yourself at that material time till things normalize again.
469  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Be aware, no use person wallet . on: March 09, 2024, 08:50:30 AM
Apart from to Even use another person wallet send your cryptos, una don see how the forum be wey e be say every body doings here dey monitored so you fit go send BTC to another person address now and if them trace am them fit tag am say you and the person na alt account, so make we no take panicking go do mistake wey go put us for problems just because say we dey find easy or short way to make things easier for us.

And again, e no dey easy to trust person money for another person custody, so as e be so make we avoid people wey we don't know wey dey offer to help us change our cryptos to fiat because I no say as binance wey majority of us dey use dey exchange our cryptos with fiat no dey again like this, a lot of people go dey claim say if you send them your crypto say them go send you fiat so unless say na the person go first send you before you go reciprocate send am your crypto otherwise sef any exchange wey you wan do with person make una make the transaction dey open for the forum Incase na person wey dey for forum so that any form of misconduct the person go bear the consequences and forum transactions dey more legit although scammers dey for the forum but e dey very rare and e no dey rampard like that.
470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If I bet big I lose, but if I bet small I win on: March 09, 2024, 08:23:44 AM
Guys, do you often feel like me? when I raise the bet I lose and when I lower the bet I win.

Go for what you feel Favours you more often than trying to be greedy and increase your stake so that you will win big and end up losing. There is no magic about winning with little stake always more than with higher stakes. The only reason why some people do prefer higher stakes sometimes is not to actually to win big but to reduce the numbers of accumulated events so that the bet can have a possibility of winning since it involves not too many predictions.
471  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dont chase your loss on: March 09, 2024, 08:16:30 AM
It is best you gamble when necessary not because you want to chase your loss and win back you money, many are victim of this circumstances and for me is a bad practice and this might make you not to employe your gambling skills and roles because you inhast in your decision making. What is your opinion on this?

Many gamblers goes broke as a result of chasing losses. Chasing losses is just like a child that is being beaten by an elder and the child is trying to revenge of which it is impossible to fight back because the elder is more powerful. Chasing losses is just a way of even running into more extreme losses than recovery.
472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A call to self-examining our gambling habit. on: March 09, 2024, 08:10:35 AM
As gambler when last did you self-examine your gambling habit to create that awareness based on how you are gambling in order for you to be quite sure if you're within a considerable or an acceptable range of a gambling habit that is void of addiction or the tendencies of gambling addiction.

A lot of gamblers doesn't cross-examine themselves as all they are interested in playing continuously without making a check and balance if their gambling habits is what they should continue or call it a quit. Some gamblers do tell me that since they started gambling that they have never won for once, I begin to imagine how much they have lost since they started gambling. Anything one is doing and not making a head way it's rather to quit to continuing because the more you continue, the more you run into numerous losses.
473  Economy / Economics / Re: Our decision making is responsible for the outcomes in our ways on: March 09, 2024, 07:59:27 AM
A friend of mine goes wild at me whenever I talk to him about his reckless spendings, he ask me what would be  accounted of his money if not enjoyments?
This is a kind of guy that feels relaxed when he has an attractive amount of money in his bank account and then feels he is only supposed to go after making more money only when he is running out from the one already accumulated and spent.

This is a very wrong narrative that life is all about enjoyments. For sure as we make money we also need to have some fun and enjoy ourselves but it doesn't need to be on a regular basis or spending money extravagantly on frivolous things all in the name of enjoyment, we live for the future as even if we won't be there tomorrow but we have offspring and loved ones who will benefit from the things we prepared for them today in the future

It is also a bad habit to spend all the money you've got with you before going to look for another, a lot of people after making some money would stop working just to enjoy themselves till they've exhausted the earned afterwhich they start looking for ways to make another money again, it's only a fool that would wait till all the money he has in his possession is gone before going to look for another.
474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you won a bet with your last cash? on: March 08, 2024, 09:49:11 PM
I went to a betting shop around my locality then I bet with $10 and lose all of them so I was holding  up to $1 separately for transporting my self back to my residence, but funny how I staked with my transport money and won.
Although, I had more money on  my account that I can use for transporting my self back to my house if incase I lost the physical cash, that was why I wasn't afraid to stake with it.

You took a very big risk there by gambling with the last money you had on you which you budgeted for transportation because had it been you lost it then you would have exceeded your gambling limit that's if you set out an amount for your gambling so you're just lucky to have won on your last trial but it is never ideal to take such a risk of gambling with a money set out to take you home should incase you lose some money while playing gamble.
We are celebrating the OP now for his good luck but what if the guy lost the money? Lol...he will know the beauty of trekking home. Wink After all, it is a part of good exercise, so there are no hurt feelings here. Smiley

He said he had in mind of making some withdrawal from his account had it been he lost the money he reserved for his transport but just like some users here have given their opinion that it is not a good practice because had it been he lost the money he would have gone above his budget by withdrawing extra amount from his account that's if he sets a budget for his gambling, and in some cases even if he makes some withdrawal had it been he lost the last cash on him, he might have as well reason to continue gambling and before you know it he even loses further so it's not a good practice at all.
475  Economy / Economics / Re: When luxury becomes a necessity. on: March 08, 2024, 09:41:42 PM
You know, there are people that look at certain things and they just conclude that because it's luxurious and expensive, it's not there thing at all. I once had that kind of mindset but with time I have learned that luxury could even make you more productive.

Luxury is good but it's dependent on your income because if you don't have a good income and you are seeking for a luxurious lifestyle, it would really affect your income though there are still people that make a huge income or generates huge income but doesn't like living a luxury life so it also depends on individual wants because what entices you may not entice the next person.
Some persons doesn't just like living a luxury life because they feel it consumes lots of money and very expensive to maintain so instead of getting involved in what you can't continue to maintain, it's better not to opt in at all.

Saying luxury could make one more productive I don't actually understand your perspective but to me I feel luxury sucks alot and there is no productivity in it because you always gonna spend more oftenly despite if you also earn huge.
476  Other / Archival / Re: Just another question. on: March 08, 2024, 09:30:45 PM
~~~
I don't know why you are interested in knowing if the smerit of a banned account that was unbanned would still be there but you need to know that so far as this forum continues to exist, every information of users here remains intact be it banned account or not. We should just be careful of not breaking any forum rules that would lead to our accounts being banned because once an account is banned temporarily, it has already gotten a negative reputation such that even when it is unbanned, such account activities would be monitored by some users of the forum therefore any further mistakes may lead to a permanent ban.
477  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is politics everyone's business? on: March 08, 2024, 09:15:49 PM
Politics deserves to be every one's business because the decisions of our leaders affects us negatively or positively, directly or indirectly. It's through politics that our leaders are being chosen so a situation whereby a wrong leader is being elected to lead the people, you would find that there would be a lot of problems in his governance so if we don't get involved in politics, we may actually be putting our society in jeopardy because the few that would be participating may elect incapable people to lead the people.
478  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 08, 2024, 09:01:25 PM
Definitely holding for long has more benefits and less risk. Just imagine the kind of joy that's in the face of those who has been holding bitcoin since 2009 till date. This is the kind of things you will get when you hold bitcoin for long. And the more the years is going the more adoption bitcoin is getting, this simply means that the price of bitcoin can still surge further in the future. So the longer we keep holding the more benefits we will keep seeing.
Hodling Bitcoin for long is a major criteria for any investor who wish to enjoy the full dividends that come along with their investments but only few can exercise that lengthy period of time for their investment to grow to a certain level that they would feel it's conducive enough to sell and make some profits though an investor doesn't need to sell off all his coins simply because he wants to make some profits as the price may go higher after he must have sold so leaving some amount of Bitcoin in their wallets is important for further profits.
The price of Bitcoin have been experiencing an incessant growth for a very long time now, and the higher the demand to acquire more Bitcoins, the higher the supply as well therefore bringing a balance in the market because as some are selling, others are buying and no matter how the price fluctuates, it will still increase as time goes on and with the growth Bitcoin has gotten, it's adoption is also increasing as more people are developing interest in knowing more about Bitcoin, acquiring it and also applying various strategies to keep their investments going.
479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL bitcoins, you can do it! Look at HODL camp map to build up strong hands on: March 07, 2024, 04:57:01 AM
I just want to add to what you have already said, holding sometimes can be challenging due to so many factors, but as an investors as we are, we need to look for a way to navigate our way in the crypto space for us to be successful.
I suggest we take a look at this thread I created about holding https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5477689.msg63316374#msg63316374
In life their are always challenges, problems are always around the corners, if you allow challenges to hold you down it will be impossible to bitcoin.  Hodling is not easy for anyone but people made it possible because of good decision to make sure they accomplished good profit holding.  If we always look up to our challenges,  we won't be to hodl bitcoin.
Holding or trading just like we do is working to make money and it has never been considered easy. Our lives are already difficult and will become even more difficult when we engage in risky ways of making money. But even though holding bitcoin will be more difficult than daily manual work, but if we are ready to face it and we can overcome it all. We will also receive more worthy rewards. Therefore, I think we should stop complaining once we accept to participate in the game, and if you are afraid that you cannot do it and it is too difficult for you, then it is best for you to leave the market.
The word 'holdling' to me means 'patience' because any one who is not patient cannot hold and it is good for us to know that every investment comes with it's own risk so whatever investment strategy that you choose, you should be able to manage the risks that comes along with it. For me holding Bitcoin is not that difficult as some persons thinks it is because you buy, hodl and if you want to continue buying subsequently, use the DCA and watch your investment grow. I don't think there's any stress in it so the only thing difficult here is your consistency to keep accumulating when you are using the DCA so that you won't ever miss any of your buying time and for this consistency to continue then a reliable and efficient source of income would be required as that's all what you need in the hodling process.
The benefits that comes along with holding, more especially for a long time, cannot be measured with trading or doing manual works on a regular basis because those things makes you physically and psychologically unstable because it is something that is required of you at all times more like hodling and continuing other life activities.
480  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: March 07, 2024, 04:22:03 AM
This challenge is actually for people who have bought and hodl Bitcoin for a long time so I don't see any reason why someone that didn't accumulate Bitcoin will take part in the challenge because someone who have a good amount of Bitcoin would take this challenge seriously unlike someone who doesn't accumulate at all.
The recent growth that Bitcoin is gaining so far is convincible that we're going towards a notable milestone in our Bitcoin journey, I have hodl some Bitcoin but I'm so unlucky to have a spinal injury which wouldn't allow me to take this challenge with you all but whatever be the case i wish you all that are taking path of the challenge good luck and good health to live and witness a new dimension in your Bitcoin investment as we are anticipating the bull run after the halving.
If you have a spinal injury, then don't you still have to do exercises?  Maybe you could substitute body squats or some other exercise that might be suitable to your condition.. .unless you are paralyzed... and of course, it would not be good to do some exercise to make you vulnerable to injury or re-injury.
This is the more reason why some people doesn't recover quick from an injury because they feel that they can't do exercises that would make their body flexible and they become so lazy with such injury. If a particular part of the body is not healthy, there are other parts that one can manage and do other things but being relaxed and doesn't want to do anything will further worsten the situation.
Regarding your point about push-ups ONLY being for the already big accumulators.. you make a bit of a point that people who have not accumulated a lot of BTC might not be as excited about the BTC price going up... so there is a bit of a presumption that anyone cheering for $100k would have or should have already accumulated a decent bag of BTC prior to cheering for UPpity.
It's really very funny how people get too excited about other people's success without wanting to also be a part or a beneficiary. He's right about the challenge being for people that have got some bitcoins in their custody because what would be the essence of the challenge if one hasn't accumulated any bitcoin? It doesn't make any sense so it would be good to buy and HODL before taking part in this challenge.
