Which SDK are you using?
Which Catalyst drivers are you using?
Which Miner are you using?
Which OS/Version/bit are you using?

The 6850 can get 240-250 MH/s with 850-900 engine, 300 memory.
I don't know about the MH/s with 5770.

Sounds like a Green Dot card. I no longer give out my SSN and it is illegal for anyone to ask me for it if it doesn't involve income taxation. I can't be taxed for debt so a credit card company doesn't need to have it. I am quite happy to purchase cards where I don't need to provide any personal details.

I think that moving away from the traditional systems is a much better direction, though some amount of interface between traditional systems and Bitcoin maybe needed to ween us off of the traditional systems.

Check_status, may I please have your SSN?
The government cannot require an individual to disclose his SSN without a legal basis.
Do you work for the U.S. Government?
463  Other / Politics & Society / Re: America's Choice - Liberty or Sustainable Development on: May 07, 2012, 11:41:16 PM
It has nothing to do with sustainability.

It's about wealth stealing, redistribution of wealth, control, and the end of personal property.

Oh I understand what they think it is.  But in reality, it's easy to live sustainably while ignoring them and their fearmongering.

the problem is you can not ignore them.

they are everywhere, right down to your local municipalities and city council, all the way up to the state, feds, and international orgs.

maybe you should watch the videos.

theres a new movie coming out called http://beholdapalehorse.tv/

So you have this massive conspiracy and not a word written down ?  Seems a tad far fetched don't you think?
It's clear Hawker, You are a communist and an agitator who attacks American Constitutional ideals. You are an enemy of the Republic for which I stand. God have mercy on your soul.
464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Need some feedback on a potential reloadable prepaid VISA program on: May 07, 2012, 09:17:11 PM
ArrumExchange offers Withdraw2card and they state they can load funds onto any debit/credit card including prepaid cards. Can you do this also?

I think a re-loadable card would be really nice for Bitcoin until we can actually use smart phones/cards for payments.

I do dislike monthly fees though.
See above.
You can make payments now, no need for any re-loadable cards.
What is stopping me from sending Bitcoins for payment to the Cable company right now? Answer: The limitation is not smart phones/cards.

The solutions the Bitcoin economy needs are increasing the merchant and service provider acceptance. The ones who will benefit the most by adopting Bitcoin payments are the small businesses; News Stands, Coffee Shops, Hair Salons/Barber, Restaurants and Eateries, Smoke Shops, Fleamarket Sellers, etc. When you go to get your morning coffee before work and you see they accept Bitcoins, nothing could be more powerful to initiate change. Cashing out of Bitcoins to make a payment is an expensive and complicated solution.

466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone ever had someone else register domains under your name w/o permissions? on: May 07, 2012, 05:22:07 PM
Ask the registrar for the registering IP address and payment details.
467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone ever had someone else register domains under your name w/o permissions? on: May 07, 2012, 05:17:47 PM
If you didn't create these domains then that is strange.

Who has,
  • access to your real name
  • access to your address
  • access to your e-mail info
  • access to your phone number
  • access to bitcoin info

Culprits,
  • An attacker that has compromised your network.
  • A Bitcoin friend, who through a mental pause moment, registered them with your info.
  • A sale or goods exchange that involved Bitcoins or Bitcoin information.
  • A Bitcoin Exchange where you've been trading your Bitcoins for cash.

How can you tell if the PCB is identical without a schematic?
Looking at the 2 pics the two PCB's are dissimilar. In both pics, compare the printing on the left side just above the Caps you want to change. One says 10/15x5 while the other states blah/25x4. I haven't seen the specs for your PSU's but this may indicate # of rails and the amperage available to each rail.

Is this deprecated then?
Code:
--config  |-c <arg>   Load a configuration file
No, you can still load a config file from a different location; just make sure there isn't one in the default location if you do. That's what I do with my Dropbox folder.
Maybe my problem is that I assumed the -c option was expressly for calling the configuration file from the default location, giving you the ability to use it if you so choose, but in actuality it is for calling a config file from another location.
O.K.

Cheers

If you don't have 5800 or 5900 series cards then gpu-engine and gpu-memclock will require different optimal settings.
I think setting specific values for gpu-engine and gpu-memclock may decrease stales. I've set gpu-memclock to 250 and there is a small improvement.
471  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER GPU FPGA overclock monitor fanspeed GCN RPC linux/windows/osx 2.4.0 on: May 05, 2012, 11:21:33 PM
It adds command line arguments after it has loaded the config file. So the config file was setting clock speed as you can see and your command line arguments were trying to set devices that don't exist.

Is this deprecated then?

472  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER GPU FPGA overclock monitor fanspeed GCN RPC linux/windows/osx 2.4.0 on: May 05, 2012, 03:01:49 PM
I upgraded to 2.4.0 and had issues with not being able to alter the engine and mem clocks, they were using the old config file. After deleting the config file in the .cgminer directory, engine and mem clock changing functionality returned.

Is cgminer smart enough to know that if I use cammand line arguments to not use the config file?
No, it adds any command line arguments to any config file it loads. It will display which config file was loaded though so you know it was used.

There appears to be some conflict with the logic in how the config file + command line arguments are working together, from what I could tell.

The 2.3.2 config file had
gpu-engine "850,"
gpu-memclock "300,"

When I unpacked and ran the new built 2.4.0 I used the command line argument:
--gpu-engine 900,850 --gpu-memclock 250

Once it started I hit 'G' to see what the clocks were set at and the clocks were engine 850, memory 300, not what I used in the command line. Stopping and restarting had no effect on being able to alter the clocks. The only solution was to delete the config file.

Edit: 2.4.0 is running well. E: 30% on P2Pool
Another issue: Hardware errors when I first ran 2.4.0  HW: 9 in 3min. Q and restart errors no longer appeared.
474  Economy / Gambling / Re: [ANN] Bitcointalk Benefit Raffle - Win a Saphire Radeon HD 7970 - 1 BTC to Enter on: May 05, 2012, 12:44:24 AM
I think you should get rid of the i-frame display of tickets. It's an eyesore and all of those buy buttons create information overload.

I suggest a new display called "Drive for Charity":

  • At the top, a dashboard and the center guage is the percentage of tickets sold
  • The Wheel of Wiz - a flashy, spinny, wheel of fortune like remaining ticket randomizer
  • 300 buttons that when clicked can be tallied allowing multi-purchase (buttons require less space)
  • When hovering over a button it slides out of the way of the clicker, teasing (20% of the time)

Chester the Suggester; Questions 3

  • How many tickets do you want to buy?
  • What are your 2 favorite numbers?
  • Pick a direction: North, South, East, West

Purchasing must be fast fast fast, don't give them time to think. If it takes longer than 15 seconds to buy a ticket peoples impulse euphoria has waned and you lose a sale.

Just some fun thoughts.

Cheers

Edit: vbulletin is so much nicer. Tongue

I don't understand why you would create a download for a .jpg then hide it with URL shortening instead of uploading it to a photo hosting service then using [ img  ]  [    /img   ] tags.
Makes you look shady and untrustworthy. If you peruse some other threads where 5830's sold, you'll see they were sold within hours of posting.
When you leave out major SOP's that the trusted sellers use most buyers will not go near the deal. Another reason is the # posts.
Finally, your price is a little high and you didn't state if your willing to accept offers or escrow.

Some deletions and alterations I've discovered (or you could say didn't discover).

Alex Jones Videos deleted and loss of Director status.
Ron Paul 2008 <---WTF
Conspiracysphere - whole channel deleted

I'm sure there are more. What are you missing that efftube removed?

Was the Conspiracysphere youtube channel from the bitcointalk forum member Conspiracysphere.tk?

Quote from: DeathAndTaxes
fair value for PPS = (current block reward) / (current difficulty) in BTC per share.

Current difficulty is 1,509,101.11 and current avg block reward is ~50 so full value for PPS share is 0.00003313 (or 3313 satoshis).
.  If pool is paying less than that then the difference as a % is an undisclosed fee.
So this is the ideal maximum payout possible based on the difficulty you list regardless of the actual scoring system?

For example, I'm trying to compare these 2 pools:

Quote
Pool: [ 1,067.82 GHash/s | 155 Users | 468 Workers ]     Server Time: [ 2012-05-04 13:42:53 CET ]
Bitcoin Round: [ 475,998 Shares | 0d 0h 33m | 99.56% Efficiency ]       Namecoin Round: [ 259,637 Shares | 0d 0h 18m | 94.38% Efficiency ]
From OZCoin.net

From EclipseMC

1 share ≈ 2^32 hashes or 4294.967296 megahashes <--This value is a constant, correct?
Full value for PPS share is 0.00003313 <---Comparison value.

Ozcoin
1,067,820 * 86,400 = 92 259 648 000 MHash/Day
92,259,648,000 / 4294.967296 = 21,480,873.2
21,480,873.2 * .00003313 = 711.661329 Payout Per Day
711.661329 / 1,067.82 = 0.666461884

EclipseMC
444,390.00 * 86,400 = 38,395,296,000 MHash/Day
38,395,296,000 / 4294.967296 = 8,939,601.48
8,939,601.48 * .00003313 =  296.168997 Payout Per Day
296.168997 / 444.39 = 0.666461885 Payout per Day per Gighash

Hmm. Ozcoin and EclipseMC no longer have 12%+ difference.
Are there other factors causing the variance that can explain a 12%+ difference in payout per day per Gigahash between pools?
How would rejected and stales affect the ideal payout per gigahash for EclipseMC @ 0.666461885?

Remember kids, the FBI foils its own terror plots, and the Justice Dept. has already said that alternative currencies like gold, silver and Bitcoin are "terrorism" and they will "infiltrate, dismantle and disrupt" groups that use them.

It was only a matter of time before the "Bitcoin anarchist" patsies started showing up.
WTF is America becoming, Germany 1938?
If you use cash you're a terrorist and if you use digital currency you're a terrorist. I guess no matter how we buy and sell we are all terrorists.

Aww... I came here to see what criminal complaint I was mentioned in. Fail.
Not to worry, there is always the Faceless Bitcoin Investigators: Special Troll Unit. I here they have an ongoing investigation. Grin
