4601  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: rumors of 3.5Th antminer S7 "lite" on: November 03, 2015, 01:53:28 PM
Interesting rumors on imminent introduction of antminer S7 'lite" hashing at 3.5 Th
Speculate on price...
My take: ~3.5 BTC initially ($1000), eventually down to 3 BTC.

So much for this theory BITMAIN just posted two new batches 4 and 5 of the S7 and I don't see a S7 lite. so is this theory hogwash ?

This one could go either way, however rumoured release date was the 10th.

Rich

We do not know how accurate his info is. I thought accurate at first.  But his latest leak on price on S7 in bulk does not add up since it's cheaper to buy S7 as a regular customer then what he claims a 1 PH customer gets.

So I'm losing faith in the info that was leaked.
4602  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: November 03, 2015, 01:47:24 PM
And more info leaked I'm suprised they keep talking to him with all the leaks they must really like him:

avalon delayed the shipment of a6 to the end of this week, bitmain release new s7 now, seems like new s7's hashrate is not stable for single unit, so they want to sell according to real hash rate of miner, the price for large order exceeding 1P hash rate is 430$ per T h/s. so i will sell according to 470$ per T h/s(40$ for psu and other fee). you can reply with how much hashrate you want to buy, then i can decide how much i should order.
Ok
new s7, 470$ per T hash/s Smiley

But interesting thing is 470 per times 4.86 T = 2284.2 , and at over 1P 430 x 4.86 = 2089.8     And current price is 1799 for 1 unit so his numbers don't add up unless they plan on raising them again.

Not sure if good info in the leak or not when I look at prices.  Seems like something might be off when I do the math behind it.
4603  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: November 03, 2015, 01:41:51 PM
Ahh okay thanks guys! well I don't think I'll be upgrading anytime soon so I can just wait and see.

There is no wait and see really.  They will not be making a S4 upgrade kit.  I believe they did a S1 upgrade kit.

But all others they have avoid at all costs.  S2 users begged for a upgrade.... it never came.  Your machine will not see a bitmain upgrade kit on S4..
4604  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how can i earn with bitcoin please? on: November 03, 2015, 01:09:07 PM
Signature campaign would be the best. But yeah, Newbies can't have good styling on their signature and hence the low payouts. You need to learn more about Bitcoin while contributing to the forum for now till you get to Full Member and you can then earn some pocket change.

Other than that, I would go for currency exchanging or services. Currency exchange requires huge sum of money and a fair bit of risk if you're doing reversible method to Bitcoin. You can offer your designing or coding skills by creating a service in the service section as well.

If you live in a country that has unique goods and it has high demands, go for selling goods at the goods section. It would yield some profit depending on your fees. Use escrow to let people trust you though.

Yes for newbies signature campaign are hard to get a place and too hard to write about bitcoin without knowing about it more. So, first I need to learn about bitcoin then only will be able to make quality posts.

I like what you think that as a newbie , you are on the right path learning first before earning with sig campaigns cuz I've saw some newbies trying themselves to earn with sig campaign, mostly they are unsuccessful and end up spamming which is not good. Keep it up Smiley

That is the problem with people sending new users straight to signature campaigns.  A lot think of look free money I need to post a ton! And end up banned.

You really need time time to gain knowlege, and learn how to share it in a useful way.  If your posts have no good content it's considered spam.  Also not one likers like "+1", "I agree!", etc.

Take it slow as a new person you have lots of time in future to worry about signature campaigns.
4605  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 100% Newbie on: November 03, 2015, 01:05:31 PM
Hi guys

I received my first bitcoin as a birthday present in October this year. But now I need to know how mining works and how I can earn more bitcoins so I can start trading? Anyone out there that can give me a quick training session to get started? I will greatly appreciate any assistance!

Thank you and have an awesome day  Smiley

I suggest start out by reading about bitcoin in general and blockchain.  That will be first things there is good info on the forums and videos on youtube even.

You should do a good amount of research before you start investing.  If done wrong you will lose money.  Also never invest more then you can lose.  Stay away from scam investments.

As far as quick training there is not a magic way to train you quick.  It will take reading and learning on your own, with help of forum.  But you need to learn a lot on your own as someone teaching it all would be very time consuming for them.
4606  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: November 03, 2015, 01:01:38 PM
I earn some BTC with the signature campaign and a little with playing dice. Just trying to double my signature payment and if that works out just stop and wait for the next week.

Where do you play dice? I always wonder if you can make a profit there in total, or are you operating at a steady loss with some lucky profits here and there?

I cannot figure it out either.  To look at some profit you for sure have and go I need to double it!  Then go risk in gabling... just is not a good investment.

You should never consider gambling a investment.  Wish you best of luck next week on it.  I highly suggest you don't gamble next weeks.
4607  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: November 03, 2015, 12:56:57 PM
Did everyone receive their payment?
Nope, my 0.3 payment is still in limbo.
Amph's 0.6 is in limbo as well
Notlist3d's payment has been done yesterday however.
Athertle payment has already been done on 1st Nov.
Jacktheking's 0.03 is in limbo as well
*cough* You sure we're not excluded from the campaign marco?

My payment was on normal time.  I did not get stuck in bot when blockchain was down.

So my payment yesterday was normal.  Nothing to do with the back payments some have due to blockchain.  The bot is up and working on payments going out.  It's just the down blockchain ones that BitcoinBoy needs to go in and do as it's working now.
4608  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Best mining hardware? on: November 03, 2015, 12:54:26 PM
Hello,

I may want to start a little project to make little bitcoin farm, which is hopefully profitable. I want to use usb miners. And what else do I need? Rasperry pi? And how much miners i can use for each raspberry pi?

You need to do some reading.  Most mining is done by Asics, which most come with a controller so you plug it in and set it up, and leave it alone.

Raspberry PI is a good controller for Avalon 4.1, compacs, lots of usb miners, etc.  But you have some research to do as it's a huge range of the different kinds of miners.

Just basic check what is your electricity price?  And do you have vat/import tax?
I am thinking of doing a project with college and they run the miners there 24/7. I read that the prices of electricity in the netherlands is 0.22€ per kWh.

Is that cheap or expensive?

That would be very expensive on electricity.  You don't stand a chance with any miner of ROI there.  You could get a usb one for fun.

But buying a big miner and counting on making money there will not happen.  You would need to look into hosting elsewhere/cloud
4609  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: November 03, 2015, 12:51:16 PM
The price increase is one thing... I also dont understand why you will have to wait at least 20 days after payment for the miner to ship

Avalon is rumored to have a miner coming out this month so they could be trying to beat avalon to the sales.

Also will be interesting if a smaller S7 ever comes true fro Mr. Lee's leak.

Below is approx price of S7 it is significantly better to buy now then in past:
Batch 1 -  1823 USD approx 240 per coin = 7.59 BTC
Batch 3 - 1658 USD approx 260 around oc 16th , 230 around the oct 22 = 6.37 to 7.20 BTC
Batch 5 - 1799 USD approx 380 per coin = 4.73 BTC

This!

Bought 6 units for 48 btc, price diff: 20 btc.
I have not mined 20 btc in the time I got mine before you. Like 2 btc up til now for my B1.

Part of reason I did the chart was in hope to get people in early batches, just like you coupons or something.  It is a slim chance I'm not counting on it.

But I was hoping maybe if people saw the huge difference ... maybe bitmain will listen if enough people speak.  Or maybe not, the could say it's based on price of bitcoin nothing they could do.
4610  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is mining dead ? on: November 03, 2015, 12:46:44 PM
At some point gear is obsolete though.  Look at like BFL minrig... that thing even "free" I would be surprised if many are still running.   One day A1's have to hit a obsolete point even at cheap electricity.

So far I think there are a ton in china running at cheap electricity.  But the recent price raise for sure put more life into A1's.

Yes! I think A1's now has a purpose to play in mining and I think bitcoin will still increase up to Nov. 5 I wish, hehe it is good to mine this time stock more and more bitcoin in the coming halving and wish it will increase Grin

This increase no doubt kept the A1's mining.  With cheap electricity gear stay's on the network a long time.  And in china I think there are sizable amounts of A1's still mining away in some data centers.

Having it's hard to say what will happen.  I'm just happy for how its doing now
4611  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S7 on: November 03, 2015, 12:44:37 PM
Antiminer S7 is a great little unit and if you can get one for a reasonable price, this is a great first unit.

-D

yeah they are great and because of this no one is selling them les than the market price, it appear to be the opposite, they are selling at a greater price

it was the case when the usb stick were presenteed to the public, new shiny thing are always sold above their real price

Next batch just went up.  You can get batches 5-6 ording now.  They are doing them a pretty good amount of time ahead.

The schedule:
Batch 5 scheduled shipping date is in Nov. 23~Dec. 3. If shipping out 10 days later than the scheduled one, it won't be considered as delay.

So they are selling in advance possibly a month.

raised prices, instead of decreasing them get up, that sucks

There you go

I had a feeling they would... so you get less mining time and pay higher price then batch before you.  It sucks every time they do this.

Batch 3 - 1658 USD
Batch 5 - 1799 USD
4614  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Share Tips And Trick To Get BTC on: November 03, 2015, 11:40:38 AM
I dont know some, But if you buy now BTC maybe in the future it will go to 1000 dollar. So let say 1 BTC = $300 over one half year (maybe) than you have earn 700$ doing nothing Tongue
Well that is just nice thinking, but you never know.

The recent surge shows we truly don't know.  No one speculated this to happen price so quick.   It's really nice to have it happen.

We are still a way's from 1k though. Lot of time to get there, and some up's and down's for sure between.
4615  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining rewards $$$ nothing on: November 03, 2015, 10:53:52 AM
Even with free electricity, it is doubtfull that you will ever achieve RoI on a GPU-based mining rig trying to mine Bitcoin - the GPU will probably die before you get close to RoI.
You'd be a TON better off mining a non-ASIC coin like DASH with that hardware (then sell it for Bitcoin), and you even have a faint chance of achieving RoI with that sort of hardware if you optimise it well for the altcoin you target.

For perspective, your 0.35 Gigahash isn't even on the same planet, much less in the same ballpark, of any recent ASIC machine - as I recall the original Antminer S1 (which is considered obsolete by current standards) runs something like 180 GH, the LAST GENERATION S5 and Spondoolies SP30 units are good for well over 1000 GH.

Trying to use a GPU-based system to mine ANY coin based on SHA256 (Bitcoin and varients) or Scrypt (Litecoin and varients) is a complete waste, and has been so for years, even as space heaters.

I would agree GPU day's of mining have passed.  Chances of even making cost of card from "free" mining is very very slim.  So you are fighting a uphill battle.

Also many GPU manufactuers have changed RMA's.  It was a lot of 5 year and lifetime which was crazy.  Now it's less on most as mining did so many RMA.  If you push it to hard you can kill a GPU.

Antminer S7 Batch 4 and Batch 5 will open sale later tonight with limited quantity, at 8:00pm of Beijing time Smiley
Place order in our website directly: https://bitmaintech.com/product.htm

Interesting thanks for update.  Are you able to say will this be last of this design for sale?

I would love if you confirm leak of Mr. Lee Smiley

New s7 information
bitmain told me that new s7 will be released to market after another 10 days, so should be on 10th Nov, they deduce the chip amount on s7, so the hashrate of new s7 will be only around 3.5T. The price for new s7 still under discussion and will be released next week

I don't expect response but figured did not hurt to ask.
4617  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: rumors of 3.5Th antminer S7 "lite" on: November 03, 2015, 10:45:17 AM

I think you hit part of a important detail. Bitmain did a 28 nm on S7 and perfected the 28 nm, which made it easier to produce.   And chances are higher profit per chip.

I have no doubt they have a 14nm dev ongoing, but I don't think we will hear a peep from them on lower NM till someone else comes out with one.  For all we know BM has a 14nm ready to go.   They have a massive amount of cash flow so there is not a lot out of their reach.

I suspect Bitmain is working to go straight to full custom on 14/16nm, as KnC and BitFury have already ANNOUNCED 14 or 16nm chips with full-custom level stats.
IIRC KnC has announced their "Solar" chips are in actual production (though their slow hash growth indicates some major yield issues).
IIRC BitFury has announced tapeout on their 14nm, but no production yet.

On the other hand, nobody is selling 14/16nm to end users yet, just to themselves and possibly major farms.

Also SFards say's they are back: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=985400.1600

So there could be some of those if they do what they are talking about.  Lot's of companies and lots of unknowns.
4618  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [CATALOG] Good websites to Invest My Bitcoins? on: November 03, 2015, 09:56:59 AM
Well I just checked satoshidice:

3613.54081797 BTC liquid cash = 1.3 MILLION $

They can run away with it any second now, yet they havent in the past 3 years (and back in 2013 that was worth much more).

So I think that is just paranoia, I think Satoshidice is very safe, and trustworthy.

Chances are will they? No they are running profitable... so they do not want to ruin that.  It is a true money making venture.

I like a little more regulation then what gambling sites provide.  But not everyone wants that so it all depends on your risk your willing to do on investments.
4619  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin | FAQ! on: November 03, 2015, 09:54:27 AM
QUESTION 2: How can I calculate my mining profits?
There are many sites. The easiest one IMO is https://alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator as it can calculate most different coins.

For calculating mining profits I highly suggest a site more like: https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator

With it you can add difficulty changes.  The one mentioned would be good for seeing current period.  But on speculating periods to come not so good.
