After the last bot activities see the whole thread for reference I think it's time for a small optimization. As I suggested in the subject I would like to propose the following change: To add captcha or similar service for posting for Brand New, Newbie and Jr. Member ranks. No need to explain what are the advantages, it is one solution to the problem with the bots. Let me know what you think.

Woohoo, more than 4000, good work man. Just opened two random profiles, one had only one post, the other one looks real, that's a lot of work for the mods, hope they see this soon ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Great news. Hope that the bots will give up and stop spamming sometime soon. Next word to try is: With Cyrillic "e", just copy paste. Just note that around 1-3% of the results are actual mistakes.

If you have more keywords you're interested in, feel free to send me a list.
I'll do for sure, bumping on different weird activity all the time. I was thinking of doing some scripts myself, but no time yet. Hopefully in a month or two the things will be better. This might not be possible because of the integration of cloudfare with bitcointalk. I read somewhere stating that bots are not functioning properly or functioning at all so don't know what the current state is.
That's sad if it's true, on the other hand the spam bots are working perfectly...

@LoyceV
Oh man, do you use tools to make this list? This is quite a work to list them with names and links.

Why on earth would you waste time using browser miner. Probably you are new to mining and you wanna try what it feels like? Better go for Minergate, simple and user friendly. You can mine many different coins including ETH, but mining with your PC will not be profitable at all.

I just wander what is the point of all that? Farming accounts maybe, it is definitely a bot activity. I see no reason to bump old bounty thread, they even bumped the scammy C project. I had participated in just a few bounties before but almost all got bumped.

@theymos, request for "report to mod" button from the search results. This will make my life easier. There are hundreds of those false registrations per day. Same example from before. #Join bitcointalk: CryptoISMyInvest Teleg company: @CryptoISMyInvest FB company: @CryptoISMyInvest twitter company: @CryptoISMyInvest

Thanks for applying, I asked a user with Indonesian to check your posts but in the meantime you already ranked up. Congrats to you, and keep posting quality stuff ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

I'll definitely do it but at the moment I have no time. If you wanna be helpful and have a free time, search for "#join" from the last 10 days and report all the fake applications, they are so easy to spot. Like this one : #Join bitcointalk: CryptoISMyInvest Teleg company: @CryptoISMyInvest FB company: @CryptoISMyInvest twitter company: @CryptoISMyInvest
I write this in my reports:

@shahzadafzal Good guide, but don't forget that he is a newbie and cannot upload pictures yet. Well, paying for Copper membership will do the job but still... ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

and another one. #Join bitcointalk: CryptoISMyInvest Teleg company: @CryptoISMyInvest FB company: @CryptoISMyInvest twitter company: @CryptoISMyInvest
Edited : Searching for "#join" from the last 9 days comes with 5 pages with results of fake users. Just a few real ones in the list. How to stop this???

@LoyceV
I wasn't aware of your thread until some days ago someone mention in with the connection to the homograph attacks. I do use Cyrillic so is fairly easy for me to search for specific characters while reporting.
On a daily basis I see 1-2 such posts created, and I do report them.
I'm very happy that you can search for a single character in the forum search engine. Helps me to detect also Russian spammers outside of their local section.
What about the Off-Topic section? Do I need to report from there too. I don't really visit this section since there are only 3-4 good threads and the rest is just a trash. I don't really see point of having such section. Almost all sig. campaigning do not count the off-topic posts so it is just a place to generate activity, nothing more. Profiles posting only there, what we do with them? Why would you register account on Bitcointalk only to discuss how to find if your wife is cheating on you or how much tomato sauce you have to put on a pizza/pasta (I don't remember)??
I'm considering opening a thread with guidelines for the everyone wanting to report. Different approaches I use to detect spam, copy/pasting etc. also to exchange ideas and techniques.

This will be a healthy discussion for those who report. I would like to know if I report 1 post two times or a two people report one same post does it comes as a two different cases or one case with 2 reports? Also homographic attacks, I do report some and I try to put proof, do you need a proof really for every post? Because it takes time to edit pictures and upload them? It is fairly ease, just a quick auto-correct to determine if one post has changed characters > reference here.

I think the OP here is complaining about the threads bumped by their creators. People are bumping threads to get mods/theymos attention with different suggestions/complaints.

If 2% of the forum users / lets say with a bit higher rank / check the Patrol page /btw it could be good if it can be enabled by default when you reach member rank/ for 5 min once a day, things will be much different but.. I do share some time every time I log in just to report some easy to spot shitposter, sometimes I dig a little more and find much more shocking and abusive things, but hey that's me, I'm not after rewards for this, just hoping to make this place better, because I like it, I like the people here too.. Sorry got carried away... ... and then the abusers start working with two type of bots instead of one , one for spamming the other for reporting, perfectly working system, ico bumping, developing accounts for sale and getting rewards for reporting.
Soon people will request payment for every hour spent on bitcointalk... @OP : There are mods dedicated for busting abusers, if users want to report infringements, they are welcome. The best reward can be the report rate listed under merit score.
Now this is an interesting suggestion. It might be a good feature. I was thinking about this before, you can have a different type of measure of your profile together with the trust and merit,but it can be only informative so no negative impacts on the profile, or maybe a additional rank based on it like the copper member now. Of course you can play with it a lot more, like put a different "weight" on the reports like reporting just a "naic proekt sir" have one but reporting homograph attack or copy/pasting have bigger weight. I guess it is just time consuming and I don't think that will have so big impact on the global reporting side, but for sure will make some people to chase the scores just for the sport ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
