Just delete some old posts and you gonna enjoy it again Cheesy
4682  Other / Meta / Re: How can you earn the benefits(Merit) on average on a day-to-day basis ? on: May 14, 2018, 08:15:10 AM
I think  purpose of everybody is using BTT to be earning token/coin.

You are sooo wrong here, man. It's place to share thoughts, ask for help and promote bitcoin as a alternative to the fiat payment system. Alt coins were the side effect of the bitcoin in the crypto world and so are the bounties. Sure many are here to "work" but this is not the point of BTT at all.
So guess what, there is no formula of earning merit on a daily basis, if you cannot contribute with something useful, no chase at all.

Hey man, I was considering replaying to your previous message here for a very long time, now I take the chance to do answer both.

I'm actually wondering how this thread has survived until this point.

hilariousandco gave me this as justification for why my thread doesn't belong in the Service section (where your thread currently is).

Quote
If it doesn't involve a bitcoin payment then it doesn't belong in the Marketplace.

If this logic is followed, then this thread seemingly doesn't belong in this section either. I am wondering if you have had your thread moved, locked or anything like that? My sMerit thread had been thrown into the off-topic section for seemingly reasons that should apply to this thread as well. Not trying to throw you under the bus, just looking for some consistency or explanation.

I never got my thread locked or anything, I guess it's not that popular as your one, and didn't attract the mod's attention, yet.
I was also wondering where to move it, since it's not yet a solution to your case. Of course, the rules should apply for everyone so I guess the new home for my thread will be the Help & Beginners section.

I had the honor to make another remarkable user -TheQuin a Hero, some days ago. He is also a good example of a contributor. Learn quite some good stuff from him myself.

Well look at you go. That's some credentials right there. It's probably more like "some weeks ago" at this point, but a late congratulations to the both of you. TheQuin posts like a mad-man and I don't understand how they're able to do it. Very informative, good contributor and they bounce around boards like it's nobodies business. I've learned a bunch from them myself.

The avatar represent me, still newbie in the field, but I love my beard. I'll probably will change it with the time.

Wide-eyed baby with a beard. That's a marvelous spirit-animal. I'll be very interested to watch the transformation and evolution of your avatar as time comes to pass. The final form of this bearded-baby is surely going to be something wonderful. I consider myself a "newbie in the field" as well, even though I've been around for years. I probably should educate myself more; maybe then I will be worthy of your service. I will pop my head in at 999 merit, to see if I qualify for such a high-honor.

Sorry that it took me awhile to loop-back around to this thread. I've been so busy lately that my head is spinning. Can't keep up with all of the threads I've posted in. It is fun to always have something to read through, though. Nice to see that you're still operating, I'm sure TheQuin is proud.  Cool

I wish I had more time to spend here. Now I'm mostly on the mobile and it so struggling to write and read on this small screen. Renovating a bathroom from scratch is so exhausting and time consuming and I really looking forward to be finish sometime soon.

If you apply for my service at 999 merit, will be a bigger honor for me for sure. If you consider yourself as a newbie, idk what to thing of myself Cheesy

Wide-eyed baby with a beard has evolved a little more, hope to keep it that way for the future.  Smiley
4684  Other / Meta / Re: Captcha /or similar service/ for newbies and jr.membrs, to prevent bots. on: May 14, 2018, 06:35:23 AM
It doesn't need to be captcha, that's why i put "or similar" see Binance login for example, no need to write anything, it's just to drag one puzzle piece to place, that's all. I don't think that it will slow down the users, and is also mobile friendly too. It's just an example, it can be

After the last bot activities see the whole thread for reference
I think it's time for a small optimization.
As I suggested in the subject I would like to propose the following change:

To add captcha or similar service for posting for Brand New, Newbie and Jr. Member ranks.
No need to explain what are the advantages, it is one solution to the problem with the bots.

Let me know what you think.

Woohoo, more than 4000, good work man. Just opened two random profiles, one had only one post, the other one looks real, that's a lot of work for the mods, hope they see this soon Smiley

4688  Other / Meta / Re: Fake profiles joining old/closed bounties for some reason. on: May 13, 2018, 02:20:19 PM
Great news. Hope that the bots will give up and stop spamming sometime soon.
Next word to try is:
Code:
thе
With Cyrillic "e", just copy paste.
Just note that around 1-3% of the results are actual mistakes.
4689  Other / Meta / Re: Fake profiles joining old/closed bounties for some reason. on: May 12, 2018, 09:50:30 PM
If you have more keywords you're interested in, feel free to send me a list.

I'll do for sure, bumping on different weird activity all the time. I was thinking of doing some scripts myself, but no time yet. Hopefully in a month or two the things will be better.

This might not be possible because of the integration of cloudfare with bitcointalk. I read somewhere stating that bots are not functioning properly or functioning at all so don't know what the current state is.

That's sad if it's true, on the other hand the spam bots are working perfectly... Sad

@LoyceV

Oh man, do you use tools to make this list? This is quite a work to list them with names and links.
4691  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Browser Miner on: May 12, 2018, 05:34:07 PM
Why on earth would you waste time using browser miner. Probably you are new to mining and you wanna try what it feels like?
Better go for Minergate, simple and user friendly.
You can mine many different coins including ETH, but mining with your PC will not be profitable at all.
4692  Other / Meta / Re: Fake profiles joining old/closed bounties for some reason. on: May 11, 2018, 10:58:05 PM
I just wander what is the point of all that? Farming accounts maybe, it is definitely a bot activity.
I see no reason to bump old bounty thread, they even bumped the scammy C project. I had participated in just a few bounties before but almost all got bumped.
4693  Other / Meta / Re: Discussion in need: "Report to moderator" on: May 11, 2018, 09:35:51 PM
@theymos, request for "report to mod" button from the search results.

This will make my life easier.

There are hundreds of those false registrations per day.
Same example from before.

~

I'll definitely do it but at the moment I have no time.
If you wanna be helpful and have a free time, search for "#join" from the last 10 days and report all the fake applications, they are so easy to spot. Like this one :
#Join
bitcointalk: CryptoISMyInvest
Teleg company: @CryptoISMyInvest
FB company: @CryptoISMyInvest
twitter company: @CryptoISMyInvest

I write this in my reports:

Edited :

Searching for "#join" from the last 9 days comes with 5 pages with results of fake users. Just a few real ones in the list.

How to stop this???
4698  Other / Meta / Re: Discussion in need: "Report to moderator" on: May 11, 2018, 01:35:49 PM
@LoyceV

I wasn't aware of your thread until some days ago someone mention in with the connection to the homograph attacks.
I do use Cyrillic so is fairly easy for me to search for specific characters while reporting.

On a daily basis I see 1-2 such posts created, and I do report them.

I'm very happy that you can search for a single character in the forum search engine. Helps me to detect also Russian spammers outside of their local section.

What about the Off-Topic section? Do I need to report from there too. I don't really visit this section since there are only 3-4 good threads and the rest is just a trash.
I don't really see point of having such section. Almost all sig. campaigning do not count the off-topic posts so it is just a place to generate activity, nothing more.
Profiles posting only there, what we do with them? Why would you register account on Bitcointalk only to discuss how to find if your wife is cheating on you or how much tomato sauce you have to put on a pizza/pasta (I don't remember)??

I'm considering opening a thread with guidelines for the everyone wanting to report. Different approaches I use to detect spam, copy/pasting etc. also to exchange ideas and techniques.
4699  Other / Meta / Re: Discussion in need: "Report to moderator" on: May 11, 2018, 12:38:46 PM
This will be a healthy discussion for those who report.
I would like to know if I report 1 post two times or a two people report one same post does it comes as a two different cases or one case with 2 reports?
Also homographic attacks, I do report some and I try to put proof, do you need a proof really for every post? Because it takes time to edit pictures and upload them?
It is fairly ease, just a quick auto-correct to determine if one post has changed characters > reference here.

I don't know if you have tried searching a little before you start a new thread, but let me give you a hand in this.
Here is a /almost/ complete list of all the crypto terminology. Have fun Smiley
