Unless there was a way to have a trustless way to create a platform that tracks digital assets such as monero... like Tari, maybe? Wink

Anyone have any updates as to how that side of the Monero world is doing now and days?

You know I just can't remember why I would ever need Tari, care to remind me?

From how I understand it, the idea is to have an “ethereum-like” chain that is secured by Monero’s POW... so I just basically imagine Ethereum with the “child-lock” turned on in regards to preventing rolling back previous transactions to make them invalid.
Wink

What no Monero Classic fork from a fucked up DAO and chain rollback?  Tongue
Yeah I think we can all agree immutability is pretty important, but i still don't see a reason for smart contracts at all. I guess i'm old fashioned, i just want my money to be money.

First BTC node in space.

Points to note:
1. Jeff Garzik Bitcoin core developer, possibly This Guy
2. Space agencies for satellite launch Nasa > SpaceX > Chinese (CNSA) then followed by Indian (ISRO) in future.

A Bitcoin Wallet Is Orbiting the Earth at 5 Miles Per Second

Quote
CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – At exactly 12:29 EST on Thursday, a crypto wallet built by developers at SpaceChain hurtled into the stratosphere aboard a Falcon 9 rocket.

When it arrived at the International Space Station, the 1kg node – only a fraction of SpaceX CRS-19 resupply mission's 2,600kg payload – became the first active bitcoin node on the ISS.

For SpaceChain, the launch is a step forward in its mission of building out a robust, decentralized blockchain infrastructure high above the Earth. The wallet will be beyond any country’s jurisdiction – and well above the reach of any physical hardware hacks.

SpaceChain sees its nodes as a radical new way to make crypto transactions more secure. This is the three-year-old company’s third launch and its first from American soil. The other two launches blasted off from China.

This is some cool ass shit that i'd love to heart on the Nightly News!

Mah Patriots look horrible today!

Ah you're too hard on them.  They looked really good for the first 3-4 minutes...
Steelers had it easy today - they played the Cards.   Hard not too look good but they tried anyway Embarrassed

Cowgirls looked good first drive as well. Lol Wink

Steelers have had some fire in them lately with a team full of second and third stringers!

I've been wasting alot of time on the new Ryzen system trying to get winblows 7 and qubes to play with each other. I know it defeats qubes purpose but its just to get acquainted with it and have it on an easy to access system (my htpc thats always in reach).

Autopilot has room for improvement.

Now thats some funny shit right there.

guys, help, i'm scared, i agree with JJG.

A. Cowboys Cowgirls
B. Packers
C. Saints
D. Seagulls 49ers

Fixed it for you.  Don't let me catch you slacking again!  Grin

FTFYT  Grin

^^^---BTW did I just coin that?

Went 1-1 with my pre-match bets on 49ers and Panthers yesterday. That 49ers game was so exciting so watch, with both teams firing on all cylinders offensively. Panthers were pure garbage and so was my bet.

Had a parlay at halftime with Tampa ML and Dolphins ML for odds of 8+. Dolphins were in the red zone with 2 minutes left, but they got very conversative with their play calling and weren't able to get another first down and run the clock down to kick the game winning FG with time expiring. Instead they left around 1:40 on the clock for the Jets, which was enough for them to make that game winning FG themselves. That last drive from the Jets was helped by a reviewed defense PI, which gave them a first down instead of 4th&17 and would have most likely won me that parlay. Dolphins had 7 made FG's (out of 8, one was missed) in that game and it was the most FG's ever made in a single game by the Dolphins.

Play of the week was made by Tannehill for me, when he tackled 122kg Raiders DT Hurst like a boss, just as he was going for a Pick6. That was hilarious Grin If you missed it, check here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xM0vYHf6RjY

MNF will be interesting to see what Eli can still do. Giants are a hot mess and with DJ under center, I would have probably took my chances with HC on the Eagles. But with the return of Eli anything can happen, so no bet for me.

Haha, yeah its nice to see Tannehill on a decent team, great tackle!.

My favorite play of the day (hello, I'm biased) was Kittle dragging three defenders for 9 yards while they're hanging onto his facemask.  Here's a clip of the niner's final drive:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ie2AOuDMGo

He's a goddamn Viking!

Funny to see Nutildah's poll in hind-sight.  80% of us (including me) picked Seattle.  80% of us were wrong.  The most surprising thing was the Lamb's D kept Seattle's offense from scoring a TD.

Weird that I had a browser crash right after I had written a small paragraph on why I thought the Rams would take that one and was too lazy to rewrite it after the recover. Basically it was because I have been watching Locket slowly stop producing and was looking at that as a leading indicator with W00ds on the surge and boy did he PEAK! I played W00ds and Kupp and If Barkley can put some about 8 more points today I can squeak a win.

Low scoring game today, giants just don't want to shut the door.
They are giving the Eagles all the chances they need to come back.

Added: Well that game sucked the giants just stopped playing. Barkley cost me the week again as well, but i think I'm still in the plaoffs.

I'll figure out tomorrow who picked the best lineup for me.

I like how I feel like I'm actually getting something accomplished with "smart mining" on the new GUI...

getting 91 H/s currently Smiley

I haven't looked at it but I read something about lottery so i assume its a solo if they are stating this in the description.

Quote
It is hoped that the relative slowness of a smart miner (especially on low-power machines) will be offset by the large amount of people running a miner for a possible "lottery win", and thus increase the Monero network security by a non trivial amount. The increased hash rate from many different sources helps keep the Monero network decentralized.

https://web.getmonero.org/resources/moneropedia/smartmining.html

I would think it would be impossible to find a block with that hash rather than improbable?

Thats not to say i don't welcome it but maybe there should be an algo that decides your hash is to low and throw you on a whitelist pool?
4686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: December 09, 2019, 12:33:02 AM
@morvillz7z, spoiler alert!  Don't read any further!

It was great! I'm So glad I played Brady over Brees!

I would have figured the opposite with Brees throwing for 349 yards and 5 TDs.  Does your fantasy league put more emphasis on wins than individual stats?  Anyway, it looks like Brady is having a dismal day, I hope he pulls through for you.

It's gonna be close, I'll need Barkley, Kupp and w00ds to go off.

There was a huge bet made on the chiefs game tonight with the over on points. It is not bradys night so this is not looking like it will be going through. Undecided

I think they had a poll on who was going to win and think he was going to put all those coins on the patriots. Good thing because they are trailing the entire game and only 6 minutes left. Embarrassed

Damn, it looks like its probally going to be a 49 point game ATM. The Refs took at least 14 points off the table with shitty calls.

Hey Brady just ran for 27 yards. LOL

Well that was a dud of an ending. I expected the game to tie and then Kc to drive up and kick the fg to win.

^Same, i didn't have time to research my games at all but decided to go for 4 parlays anyway, 3 already lost! Grin
Last one: Raiders/Titans O 45.5, Steelers -2.5 and Seahawks ML, don't have much faith in it but we will see.

So, the Niners win in a 94pt shoot-out game, i need to see that shit (please don't spoil! Kiss)

Well shit, fine.

How about them 9ers?!?

What an amazing finish to the game, I was on the edge of my seat throughout the 4th quarter.  I knew Brees wasn't gonna make it easy, but god damn, Jimmy Garoppolo's legacy will take shape in these types of moments.

Woohoooo!  Go 49ers!

It was great! I'm So glad I played Brady over Brees!

Can't wait till morvillz watches it so we can talk about it. Grin
4689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: December 08, 2019, 06:56:44 AM
How's GRIN or Monero or others not absolute as soon as ETH will have privacy? I'm not a troll, I'm honestly curious if there's any argument against what I'm saying.

ETH is already crumbling under its own weight and second layer privacy can never compete with first layer not to mention monero sends transactions in minutes for penny's, you just can't beat that. Maybe grin will match that with a lower  scaling someday but only time will tell. For today there is only Monero and anyone that tells you otherwise is selling snake oil.

Monero is not owned by anybody but you while ETH is distributed among millions thats the difference. Grin cant beat anything coz it is a community driven project while eth & co is a billionaire driven cartel and receives funding from me as well. When community drives a coin it is doomed to fail. You know that most people are retarded and the best contribution they can make to their field of interest is pauperize and dumb everything they touch.

Your going to have to break this up and clarify your points. Reading it hurts my head.
4690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: December 08, 2019, 05:55:44 AM

Wow, pretty good that you have both Brees and Brady. Was it like that all season for you?

Yeah, that was a treat!
Some idiot dropped him when he was injured and Teddy Bridgewater was on fire, I scooped him right up. Cheesy

The only change I would make is switching Kelce for Henry. NE defense could potentially stop some yards for you there. I've had Henry as my starting TE for most of the season and he's paid off more often than not.

It's funny you've mentioned this as I had it that way when I was making the original post and decided to pop Kelce back in because I just don't think I can trust the Chargers front 5 and Rivers this week. But yeah that choice was torturing me and it should be fun to find out what happens. i think they should both kick serious ASS this week and i managed to steal Hooper (I scooped him a month ago and have just been putting him in the IR spot: I don't think the guy who dropped him knew yahoo had added IR) just so no-one can pop him in against me if he goes on a tear now that hes back on the field.

I'll close the poll early, we're up to a record 10 votes. Sticking with my guns and the Rams for this one.

You looked lonely up there so i joined you. Cheesy

I should really try to find a place to watch the game tomorrow morning but I'm pretty far removed from anything American-like at the moment. Things I miss the most about home:

- good cheese and fresh milk
- Taco Bell
- my Xbox
- watching NFL games whenever I damn well choose

You'd ask: can't you just livestream games and/or buy the NFL premium digital package (or whatever)?

A: NO! Every bit of internet data is metered here and I pay about $1 a GB. When I do have a data signal, which is about 50% of the time, its seldom strong enough to livestream something. YouTube videos can be a pain to load, and Netflix is out of the question. I had a NFL radio app on my phone so I could listen to games that way, but its just not really the same as watching them... Its like 40% of the experience.

HAH you spying on me! I'm drinking a milk right now, bummer you don't get to catch the games i've been really looking forward to it each week this year.

4692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: December 08, 2019, 12:11:42 AM
@Hueristic
I like that you took Phillip Lindsay @ Houston over Mark Ingram @ Buffalo.  Brady at home vs. KC is also a good gamble, although I wouldn't be surprised to see Breeze have a good statistical day (despite prying for him to lose big!)

had that dramatic NFC championship game at the 49ers with that muffed punt from the 49ers shortly before end of regular time

That's still a painful memory, but I felt vindicated that my team lost to the eventual champions.  That was a great superbowl game as well that year.

So you wouldn't make any changes?
Not even Flex?

Loving the shift to CPU, since I am running a small to medium size CPU farm. Another side benefits, maybe the top Gaming GPUs will finally be less expensive and more available. Next level stuff I am waiting for is the 64 core Ryzen that was leaked, that thing is a beast on steroids!

Beware Monero people, this is a rogue Epic Cash con artist trying to lure people into the project and pump up the value of his dev tax wallet.

I've just finished reading the post history and appropriate threads, thanks for the heads up. Smiley

Big Giants fan here ...

tyKiwanuka, I really enjoy reading your posts and actually I love the quality of the posts in this thread from everyone and wish I had more merit to spread on them I owe you one for this post and thanks for the detailed explanation of those seasons.

NOW for some fun, I have a playoff spot locked up so this week isn't a make or break on one of my teams so I will play a consensus lineup from you guys.

1/2 PPR 1QB 2WR 2RB 1Flex

Drew Brees NO - QB
Sun 1:00 pm vs SF

Ryan Fitzpatrick Mia - QB
Sun 1:00 pm @ NYJ

Tom Brady NE - QB
Sun 4:25 pm vs KC

Michael Thomas NO - WR
Sun 1:00 pm vs SF

Julian Edelman NE - WR
Questionable
Sun 4:25 pm vs KC

DeVante Parker Mia - WR
Sun 1:00 pm @ NYJ

Austin Ekeler LAC - RB
Sun 4:05 pm @ Jax

Phillip Lindsay Den - RB
Sun 1:00 pm @ Hou

Mark Ingram II Bal - RB
Sun 1:00 pm @ Buf

Chris Carson Sea - RB
Sun 8:20 pm @ LAR

Travis Kelce KC - TE
Sun 4:25 pm @ NE

Hunter Henry LAC - TE
Sun 4:05 pm @ Jax

Austin Hooper Atl - TE
Sun 1:00 pm vs Car

I've highlighted my picks and as you can see I'm gambling on those as I'm shooting for the highest ceiling. My opponent is in second place and I have 4th locked up so I just would like to throw as many points as possible up.

So whoever posts the best Lineup gets some merit and I will play whichever players get the most votes.

I really should do this for my other team because if they lose I may drop out of the playoffs but I don't want anyone to blame but myself on that one! Grin
All I can say on that one is the rams better not drop another turn on me I'm playing Woods and Kupp.

Today many transactions are made on lightning. But some say that a lot Bitcoins onchain transactions are just tumbling coins with hope to make them untraceable. So this numbers cant tell us much, but trend can always tells us something.

Is there a forensic analysis of this around?
There's definitely no forensic analysis about it but people believe the on chain transaction to be an act of tumbling coins because the transactions on Lightning network are encrypted and sent via the network from sender to receiver while the transaction are not broadcast publicly.

I never thought of that, can you tell what coins are being used before you use a channel?

It would suck to find out your coins are tainted from using lightning.
4697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: December 07, 2019, 01:50:08 AM
The NFC East is a flustercluck of mediocrity.  Does it even matter who wins that division?  My guess is whoever wins the East is going one-and-done in the post season.

Identify the element which is not like the others.

A. Cowboys
B. Packers
C. Saints
D. Seahawks

If you selected option A you passed the test. Tongue

It is incredible that at this point in time in the regular season Washington with a 3-9 record is still alive and could win their division and if anything I want it to happen just to see the faces of all the Dallas and Philadelphia fans in complete disbelief if that happened.

The NFC East does not have any reason to be on the playoffs, maybe an interesting change in the rules could be that even if you are the division champion if that team does not have a winning record then it does not get to participate in the playoffs.

I would love to see a Jimmy Jones interview after this happens! His interview after the loss to chicago was a thing of beauty! Cheesy

Giants won the super bowl as 9-7 wild card, Pittsburg has too.  Even though I agree, once the playoffs start it's a completely different game anything can happen (although I'd bet on any of the wild card teams against either the eagles or the cowboys (or the redskins  Cheesy)

Didn't they do it twice from the wildcard? I find it amusing that Giants fans hate The Patriots but Patriots fans couldn't care less about the giants and actually I always say good on you guys for beating a great team Twice! It's weird, kind of like they are sore winners.

What bums me out is a couple of freaks in our league still haven't paid their league dues  Roll Eyes  and the commissioner said if they don't pay he's just going to refund everybody at the end of the season and then not run the league again next year  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Pretty weak sauce, but what can I do? Scream at the guys to pay their fees? Not really a viable option.

Sounds scammy to me, he should freeze the accounts that haven't payed. Does he make more by returning everyone's cash than allowing the playoffs? This should have been dealt with before the league drafted not right before playoffs.

I wish I could join leagues and not pay if i don't make the playoffs.
Shit thats a way to just print winnings.

No, he makes no money... It was all supposed to be done in a gentleman's honor-type fashion. But of course a couple douchebags decided to make it exactly what you said -- playing without paying. Now that they're out of contention they probably won't pay at all. They are all people from my hometown, I'm the only one who lives abroad. I don't know the two guys who didn't pay. Maybe I should call them douchebags on their Facebook pages. Like, under comments left by their relatives or something. On Christmas. Lol.

Link my post to their facebook page. Grin
