This is a new level of Ponzi schemes, awesome! The idea of a payments to a vanity address is fantastic .
4762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $25,000 in Bitcoin Seized from Alleged Software Scam Operator on: February 11, 2015, 10:52:09 PM
More bad press for Bitcoin, undeserved bad press as always, but still better than nothing i guess.

Nah, don't think this is going to tip the scales. It's a form of money, like the USD. Nobody is leaving the USD when a Colombian druglord is arrested with heaps of cash laying around Wink

But you're forgetting that's not how the fickle public work. They believe the media propaganda and associate bitcoin more with bad things than positive. It's unfortunate but it's just the way it is.

They are thinking that FIAT value are more secure and "positive" than bitcoin, but I think a lot of people wrong. It is obviously the mass-media aren't helping (not all but the but the 70-80%) the bitcoin "image".
4763  Other / Meta / Re: How to appeal negative trust feedbak ? on: February 11, 2015, 10:39:19 PM
Is there a way to appeal a negative trust feedback given unfairly ? Just because someone can post you a negative feedback, I should be ok with it ? What happens now, I leave him negative feedback in exchange ? I do not find that rational or mature. Shouldn't there be a way to appeal this at some Mod ?

I am a new member and I could appreciate your help.

The trust system is not moderated, you should "work" with camolist and try to convince him you are not a scammer/dishonest person.
4764  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was that the bottom ? on: February 11, 2015, 10:15:18 PM
Simple , simple. The real bottom is 0 dollars , and at the moment bitcoin is still alive. My suggestion is : buy bitcoin and hold the for 3-4 years (you will be victorious).
4765  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTS 25 BTC for Paypal on: February 11, 2015, 10:10:28 PM
on the bright side another failed scam and no one out of pocket Smiley

At least he tried , the only thing(s) he has received are 4 negative trusts. I hope he will enjoy them!

4767  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Bitcoin is 1 Bitcoin no matter what the price ... on: February 11, 2015, 09:49:19 PM
nope.

1 btc = 0.9999 btc actually.

(There's 0.0001 btc transfer fee Grin )

If your 1BTC has enough priority you don't have to pay any fees.

From that point of view 1BTC is still 1BTC  Smiley

The same of 1€ = 1€ , but with your 1btc you can buy a lot of thing because it isn't a "inflationary coin" (or at least it seems).
4768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 6 confirmations is not enough on: February 11, 2015, 09:38:51 PM
6 confirmations take around 1 hour on average, as a customer i don't want to wait 1 hour to be confirmed..

Bitcoin transactions take too long already, don't say 6 confirmations is not enough.

However i would like to see a succesfull attack, but i think that will never happen, wouldn't it happened before by now then?

6 confirmations is astronomical. You only need 1 confirmation, and even then, there are techniques to accept unconfirmed transactions with almost zero risk (so you won't need to wait 10 minutes to buy your coffee).

You're right. For example greenAddress allows the tx between two wallets GA with an instant confirm (there isn't needed to wait no confirmation).

GA= greenAddress.

is scammer.
my mistake, i have sent first.

216 USD just gone.

what doesn't kill me - make me stronger.

I suggest you to open a scam accusation in the correct section and post all the information (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0). I hope you can recover your money (maybe try with a "chargeback").
4773  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTS 25 BTC for Paypal on: February 11, 2015, 09:15:56 PM
Sign a message with an address that contains 25 btc

Agreed, for a newbie it always builds confidence if you offer Escrow with someone like Ognasty or Tomatocage + post a signed message from the address holding the BTC for sale.

Proves you actually own the bitcoin and Escrow providers buyer/seller protection

I'm also waiting a signed message of this "presumed address" with 25 bitcoin ( but of course I  think he can't).
4774  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: amazon discounts are they legit or scams? on: February 11, 2015, 07:25:26 PM
I think this practice is illegal and obviously dishonest, why someone should request a refund (or better a partial refund) after receiving the "object" that he ordered?

4776  Other / Meta / Re: Bipolarbob on: February 11, 2015, 06:08:17 PM
There was a guy here with the identification of bipolarbob, what happened to that guy and what was the idea behind what he/she does?

He is one of the most generous people around the forum => https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=343899
Some people wanted to feed their curiousity and foud out that he owns Bitcoins worth of 1 million dollar , still we cannot be sure that's the good about Bitcoin I guess "being annonymus"

Who found that out and where?
I have read that someone (don't remember where - and didn't see proof) was able to trace TXIDs of addresses that he previously used to addresses with large amounts of bitcoin, as well as to known JD dresses, although BPB has said publicly he does not gamble.

He has told me previously that he used to be a miner (I got the impression it was back in the GPU/CPU mining days) and made a good amount of bitcoin via mining.

Maybe he has invested a lot of bitcoin on JD, but didn't gamble it.
4777  Other / Meta / Re: Bipolarbob on: February 11, 2015, 06:04:39 PM
Yes, BiPolarBob was  (is) very generous. I remember one of his topics (this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=869442.0) when he spread 0.02 btc to all the users that have posted an image of mandarin oranges.

Thanks again BiPolarBob !
4778  Economy / Services / Re: Signature Competition - 0.1 BTC Reward on: February 11, 2015, 05:59:45 PM
We will also give the winner 1000 OCUPY as well. Thats about 0.12 BTC

So total reward is ~0.22.
That sounds quite well.

I will work on those designs Smiley

Best regards.

Yes 0.22BTC is a fair reward for this

Can you post some text or "slogan" that you want to see in the signature? Thanks (oh right , also the colors).
4779  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Btcprofit | Bitcoin Investment | 100% Auto | 125% Instant Pay | on: February 11, 2015, 05:57:39 PM
I'm (and I think also the other forum members) tired of these ponzi schemes, stop this bullshit here and go away from the forum. If you just registered here to promote your ponzi I think you will not be much "helpful" for this community.
