4781  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin implants? on: April 07, 2017, 11:02:42 PM
you want to lose your arm? Because that's how you lose your arm.

Imagine you're in a sketchy neighborhood and people know you're carrying a huge amount in your palm.

Its good for ease of transaction, but a big NO for security
Well, this is interesting, in medical terms placing a foreign object into our body is potentially a disaster. If this concept just like something that implemented on the surface of the skin i think this is not a big problem but if this object is placed under the skin layer it's just not good for your health. Not only that you might also lose your arm you know what i mean, the criminal will do everything to get what they want.
Anyway, bitcoin tattoo is a good option sadly it just can be used to receive bitcoin.
Come on it's nothing bad. Tell that to people that implant stuff under their skin to have horns and stuff. I haven't heard about them dying from it.
I wouldn't be afraid of the implant itself or losing an arm like someone suggested, I just don't see the point of having such implant.
4782  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Initial Coin Offering for political party, would you support it? on: April 05, 2017, 07:33:01 PM
I would support it just to see how they do and give them a chance to accomplish something. Having a vote in the parliament would work wonders for crypto.
It would work as free advertising as all tv and radio stations are interested in politics and would surely raise awareness among people.
How can you be sure? But if this party will make such decisions which will serve as publicity? Policy does not tolerate populism and PR. Publicity is good publicity in the media. You see the consequences of the election of PR on the example of Trump.
I can't be sure and I'm not, but I would support them just to give them a chance. I think it's worth a try.
I'm sure having a party would raise awareness because, like I said, all major news outlets have their crews in the parliament and they wouldn't miss something new like a crypto party. Even if their coverage would be biased, people would at least hear the name and feel the need to know more about it. People are curious by nature and have a natural need to learn and discover.
Trump is a bad comparison, because he was already very well known before the start of his political campaign. Most people don't know what Bitcoin is and never even heard the name. I've asked some of my friends and family last year and nobody knew Bitcoin!
4783  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-03-27]Why the European Union is Against Anonymous Digital Currencies on: April 05, 2017, 05:14:26 PM
The EU is constantly trying to impose their stupid laws on the member countries, like forcing them to receive muslim migrants. That didn't go well, because the more you received the more terrorist attacks you got in the last year. Some countries that refused, like Hungary, are now under pressure and EU wastes their time on blocking the terrorist supply routes instead of focusing on finding them and deporting back to Africa. GB made the right choice to leave.

Sorry, but this is offtopic bullshit, racist & utterly false. You have no idea.

This is very much on topic. The EU's attitude towards cryptocurrencies and money in general has changed in the recent years due to terrorist threats. The threats they brought inside their borders and the same ones they are now trying to bring into other member countries. Countries that were against accepting migrants from the beginning.
Only leftists can't accept the fact that muslim extremists and jihadists hide among those migrants, nothing racist here.
4784  Other / Meta / Re: I pledge that those lovely badges stay ! on: April 04, 2017, 08:44:01 PM
I think with a few changes they would be a neat feature. Perhaps if you could choose what ones (if any) to show under your name, and users had the ability to disable them like you can disable Avatars and Signatures then it would be a nice thing to have.
I liked them as well and think it's a nice option. We haven't had any new features in a long time and this is already there, just needs some polishing.
Maybe we could have a poll and vote if we want this or not. I can't see any naysayers in the thread, so maybe some numbers would help Theymos decide.
4785  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Where are my bitcoin? on: April 04, 2017, 08:36:52 PM
I think the reason because you did not get your Bitcoins is the low transaction fee. Right now, even high fees are slow for confirmations. It will probably be confirmed in a long time or it wont be confirmed at all. You should have set a higher fee.
And you're right. He paid only 20 sat/B of transaction. According to https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ there's still 3099 unconfirmed transactions with the same fee and the minimum delay is 240 min (which usually is much longer). It hasn't been 12 hours since OP send the transaction, so there's no need to worry. I expect it will go through by Friday.
Next time don't forget to manually set the fee. 150 Satoshis (0.0000014BTC) should get you a confirmation in less than an hour.
4786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Erik Voorhees: SegWit should be activated on: April 04, 2017, 08:19:19 PM
Too bad, neither SegWit nor Unlimited will reach their target support %.
I could see BU reaching 51% though, where if they forked at that point, it wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary.
BU was looking good about 2 weeks ago, after the antpool news. Since then they lost some support and slowed down, they won't win unless they persuade (pay?) another big pool to join their cause.
I think SegWit is a good option, much better and than BU and it wouldn't divide the community as much as BU would.
4787  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Peers, more than teachers, inspire us to learn on: April 04, 2017, 08:04:55 PM
University students are not forced to study, it was their own choice and their own (or their parents') money that allowed them to do it. They should know why they're doing it and shouldn't need persuasion or confirmation from their peers. I understand that might be the case with teenagers, because they feel like they're wasting time learning boring stuff, but not students.
I know from experience that you're learning the fastest if you're using something in practice and need the knowledge to make projects.
4788  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Minegate.org? on: April 04, 2017, 07:56:26 PM
- new account
- "thoughts on xyz? is xyz legit?" etc.

the shilling is too obvious
Reported post. I don't know what are you talking about and the only one shilling here is your account with that low quality signature campaign because of posts like that Smiley
Thank you, greetings.
Why so angry? Did he hit a soft spot?
Signatures are a simple paid advertising and people wearing them aren't trying to start a discussion about a business by posing as a client, or a potential client.
You have to excuse forum members for being suspicious but the number of scam sites is overwhelming and the one you're asking about is no different.
4789  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Initial Coin Offering for political party, would you support it? on: April 04, 2017, 07:31:35 PM
I would support it just to see how they do and give them a chance to accomplish something. Having a vote in the parliament would work wonders for crypto.

4790  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: can you mine bitcoin for the next 20 years on: April 04, 2017, 06:15:20 PM
With the raising cost of hardware in mind I have to say no. Bitcoin will still be mined 50 years from now, but the rewards will be so small that the machines will need a lot of space, power and time to mine a block.
Maybe someone will eventually come up with a miner that has enormous power with minimal power consumption, who knows, but we'll be old by then Smiley
4791  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Europe is basically an American colony on: April 04, 2017, 06:06:22 PM
What is the second map supposed to show? If those are US military bases, they are also on the territory of Russia, which is strange.
I don't mind them having forces in the EU. They are renting land in exchange for military training and equipment, so the governments are agreeing to their presence. Also, I'd prefer to have a US outpost in my country than a Russian one.
4792  Economy / Economics / Re: Gibraltar War on: April 04, 2017, 05:51:26 PM
EU knows how to handle things through threats and bribes, so they will find a way to talk out of this. Also, a war between GB and EU would end up in devastation of British forces. It would be like a fight between a cat and a dog. While the cat can bite and scratch, the fight is lost the moment they sink their teeth in each other. The dog is bigger and has longer teeth.
We can speculate how the war might look, but there won't be one. Both sides are not doing great economically and a war would only worsen their condition.
4793  Economy / Services / Re: Cryptotalk.net - get 0.0001 BTC per post on: April 04, 2017, 05:37:43 PM
This site not work.  Huh Why
Maybe they run out of money, maybe it failed to attract anybody else apart from paid posters, there are many possible answers.
It's very difficult to make another forum these days because Bitcoin community isn't very big and bitcointalk + reddit offer plenty space for everyone to fit in.
4794  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-03-29]Roger Ver was suggested to exchange BTC and BTU at one-to one ratio on: April 03, 2017, 08:13:33 PM
I knew he wouldn't take it and this was a great move by Loaded that showed Ver is not 100% confident his BU is going to win.
Ver was also wise not to take the deal because we can all see that BU isn't gaining any new support.

4796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best option to store BTC in hardfork event. on: April 03, 2017, 07:54:42 PM
To the OP, if you're genuinely worried you should cash out, wait for the fork event (whether it will happen or not) pass, and then get back in to the winning bitcoin blockchain "version". There are alternative coins that are stable that you can keep your funds in (beyond just going back to fiat). Consider Litecoin or Ethereum as an option. The latter isn't a currency per se, but shares of an idea on how to bring the blockchain to businesses.
If he decides to wait he could be waiting indefinitely, because there's not much chance a fork will happen anytime soon. I wouldn't advise going for LTC because it's a similar coin to BTC and its price relies on its predecessor. LTC doesn't bring anything new to the table and will die soon after BTC.
4797  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tulsa area Police Officer shoots suspect...who do you side with? on: April 03, 2017, 07:47:51 PM
Cops should have waited for him to pull out a weapon before killing the guy. For all they know he could have had a medical condition and he was going for his meds.

It seems like cops are too scared and just shoot "just in case" .. well I think the cop in this video who shot him should be fired. If your too scared to confront bad guys then why would you be a cop? duh.
Now consider this please:
He stops in the middle of a road and endangers other drivers and himself.
He doesn't respond to questions and commands, looks like on drugs.
If he wanted to go for his meds there were many ways of showing it.

I think the officer had the right to shoot, but he could at make the shot non-lethal. He could aim at a leg or a shoulder.
4798  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Chicago police arrest 14-year-old boy over sex assault streamed live on Facebook on: April 03, 2017, 07:28:37 PM
Is there anyway that the ones who watched but didn't report be identified, They should be all arrested and charge for being accessory to rape.
You don’t know why they did not report it, I don’t know exactly the contents of what was streamed but maybe they did not believe it was real or maybe when they were watching no illegal act was being committed yet, so it is not as easy as you think.
People usually don't know what to do in such situation and they don't want to get involved. One call and you might end up being traced, asked to come for a questioning, write and sign a statement, who knows on what "invigilation list" you'll end up. I know it's not right to watch a girl being assaulted, but if I saw that on random, not knowing what I clicked on, I'd think they're making a prank video like one of those where youtubers pretend to be attacked to see if people react and help the victim.
4799  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Blast in St. Petersburg metro network on: April 03, 2017, 06:19:20 PM
At least 9 people have been reportedly killed in the explosion, and St Petersburg Metro department have closed several subway stations in the wake of the incident.

At least 10 people have been reportedly killed in the explosion, and St Petersburg Metro department have closed several subway stations in the wake of the incident.
As you're reading this the number of victims is going up. I know it's not the best moment to joke around Wink

I wonder which radical group will take responsibility for this. Usually terrorist attacks in Russia were done by the Chechens.
4800  Economy / Economics / Re: Will you invest in a MLM scam in early stage? on: April 03, 2017, 06:12:31 PM
No still not because a mlm will always be a scam for me. Not that i've become one of their victim, it's just i don't believe on long term passive income.

In vain you do not believe in it. I participate in such projects. But I can not say that this is a passive income. At the first stage, you need to make efforts to build your team. But in the future this really turns into a passive income
This is a Scam. You are actually deceiving people. The efforts you are making are intended to lure money from people. I myself do not participate in such scams and do not advise others to contact the scammers.
It depends, he doesn't necessarily has to be deceiving. I've seen people that know exactly what they're getting into and still do it. They are willing to take the risk of being scammed, because in the past some of these deals brought them profits. If you're referring someone and telling them straight away how it works, there's no deception and no luring.
