481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DSH] Dashcoin - (CPU mining, true anonymity, automated source code) on: September 14, 2014, 03:45:47 AM
@Dev,What's the tranaction fee now?
I've mined .41 bil,but only received less than 0.4bil.  Huh Huh
Any pending balance on pools? Tx fee is 0.01 DSH on most pools (10 DSH on minergate). Where are you mining?
I made an extensive investigation of the issue. The problem is in the open source pool that all pools expect Minergate are using. There is a flaw in the pool design. When a transaction passes as successful through the daemon, but it not included in the blockchain in 24 hours, it is still counted as paid. This is a major flaw in the open source pool design. Not only Dashcoin is affected by this. Every Cryptonote with "transaction life" mined by "fancoder/cryptonote-universal-pool" and "zone117x/node-cryptonote-pool" has this problem.
Also, I am not sure Minergate makes this check either. I just have no way to test it.
Pools have the transaction ids saved, so the unpaid balances must not be counted as lost.

Edit: I informed all pool developers about the issue.

What happens if a transfer passes through the daemon (it does not fail), but is not included in the blockchain? Is it counted as successful or failed after 24 hours? Is this kind of check implemented in the source code?
I can confirm transactions not included in the blockchain but passed the daemon check are counted as paid, which is very wrong. A check must be implemented as this is a major flaw in the pool design.

I am prepared to take this crypto over, I don't believe waiting for the end of month is Wise or responsible, it will Kill the crypto, so lets do it quickly

If everyone of the current devs is out, thats fine, but if some still have an interest, please let me know.
You haven't implemented a critical update (a week old) in your current coins and you are suggesting you can maintain another one?
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DSH] Dashcoin - (CPU mining, true anonymity, automated source code) on: September 11, 2014, 01:11:13 PM
When i mine DSH, diff is 70.000.000, so very hard to mine DSH. And now, diff is too slow and with this DSH's price I wasted my energy.

Have you tried a different pool? Extreme sho diff as 13816535.

I know it is 2% but sometimes in life it is worth paying a little extra!  Grin

http://dsh.extremepool.org/
Diff is changing in real time and it is the same for every pool.
Currently the active pools are (ordered by fee):
URLFees
http://dsh.democats.org 0.5%
http://cryptograben.com/pool/dashcoin-dsh/ 0.5%
https://minergate.com1%
http://dashcoin.xminingpool.com/1%

Unfortunately it seems that no-premine, instamine or other way of collecting money from coin launch is a must. To keep the coin going it takes quite a lot, not only developing the code, website but also provide an infrastructure costs money. Our experiment with fair coin doesn't seem to work at all.

Monthly outgoing traffic on our seed node is reaching 700GB/monthly. Dedicated server with good performance and connectivity doesn't come for free.

As we're financing dedicated server from own pocket and community is not donating we're going to shut the service on 30th of September.
If there will be new domain owner before end of month, he can point DNS names to his own seed servers.

We're hoping there are people in community that want to see this going on.

Please update your website with this announcement. Is seems like miners at minergate are not getting your message and they are burning money. Did you made contact with pool owners sharing with them this information?
When you know your coin is dead at least prevent people to burn more money in it.

Isn't wolf's cpu miner with GPLv2 license? Why your miner is not open source?

Who said our miner has anything to do with Wolf's cpu miner ?
You did @ the wolf cpu miner thread.

Dev,why the command on DSH is so few?
What other commands do you need?

Any reason why people are mining AEON so hard on minergate? They didn't know about dev's announcement?

I will be surprised if AEON survives this. I feel bad for the people invested time and money in it. It is strange this announcement is exactly 3 months after AEON started (6 june - 6 september).
I can offer my help to make AEON a Dashcoin like clone, but dev and server costs are at least 6 BTC per year from my calculations (just to run the network), and I am not sure the entire network worths that much at its current state.
Also, what happens with the coins mined by dev? They are not small amount for sure.
(I have 0 AEON)

Oh dear, with XMR, XDN... and other Cryptonight coin I always use: transfer 0 <wallet address> amount <payment ID>, i don't know on subtoshi must have -p. Let me try.

Thanks you.

The -p shouldn't be central to subtoshi, but rather a change in simplewallet.  Also, thank you arielbit for pointing this out.
XMR and XDN 'transfer' command have only payment_id option and that's why they don't need a flag '-p' for payment_id. Dashcoin (and Bytecoin) has also transfer_fee option (-f flag). If XMR and XDN add transfer fee option (or any other option) they will be forced to change the usage of payment_id.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: September 06, 2014, 11:56:04 PM
why no dev gui wallet?
why ? why?
bytecoin > BTC

Do you actually need one at this moment in time?
The CLI does everything a gui wallet can do.
Things like the multi signatures and further API development, as well as security, of course are much more interesting for the long term. Bytecoin is not a pump & dump and is here for the long term.

What make you so convenient that it is a long term coin not like BBQ coin? or other coins?
I am not so long ago came across this coin and mentioned it has almost no promotion that cause its low popularity and it low price, I think
From the updates we are seeing this is a long term project. The quality of the related projects is also extremely high.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DSH] Dashcoin - (CPU mining, true anonymity, automated source code) on: September 05, 2014, 03:50:20 PM
Is anything wrong with DSH?  Huh
All Cryptonote coins had a bug, that made them vulnerable to attack. It is fixed, you must update to the latest binaries. We were not under attack (we are still a small coin), but do it as precaution.
Unless you have something else in mind.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DSH] Dashcoin - (CPU mining, true anonymity, automated source code) on: September 05, 2014, 12:13:13 AM
New binaries:
Dashcoin Windows     (Get started)
Dashcoin Linux          (Get started)
Dashcoin Mac            (Get started)

The bug allowed XMR to be attacked is fixed in those.

Also, the pool owners running cryptonote-universal-pool now have option for donation to Dashcoin's devs. All you need to do is update to latest pool version and change the value of "coreDevDonation". The option works not only for Dashcoin, but for almost all Cryptonote currencies.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DSH] Dashcoin - (CPU mining, true anonymity, automated source code) on: September 04, 2014, 10:38:28 PM
Is DSH affected by the recent bug discovered in the cryptonote code? XMR has been recently attacked due to this vulnerability, and it seems to be common to all cryptonote coins.

Any words from the developers about this?
I would expect so, but doubt dash is big enough to be considered for an attack.
Either way dev should come out with a statement or a fix to prevent such a thing.
I am currently building with the fix Bytecoin came out. We'll have the binaries in a few hours.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry: Privacy and Security - Guaranteed[Bittrex/Poloniex]GPU Released on: September 04, 2014, 11:04:17 AM
Good morning dear friends!

Just awakened by the call and findout news that Monero is under attack.

I'm started looking on it now, and, well, i have 2 news! Good one and bad one!

Bad news is that Boolbery also have this flaw. (Like every Cryptonote).
Good news - that this attack need pretty long period of preparation, because to achive big amount of transactions per block attackers need to move median, it's a day or more. That means that even if i see that attack is starting i have enought time to update network with workaround rule, that won't let grow transactions count per block too much to fail.
Exactly that's why we have alerts feature - in case of emergency i could update network pretty quickly!

So, i have time to calmly research the problem.

If it is easy to spot isn't it possible a notify script to be written? If you tell me how to detect I can make script to detect and notify. PM me if there is need for such a script.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [MRO] Monero Blockchain Explorer monerochain.info on: September 03, 2014, 02:47:56 PM
Hi,everyone!

Two days ago I send XMR to bter.com
i copy and paste the command line to my simple wallet ,but forgot include the "payment ID"

Transaction ID  is " dd9179aae7655f9f2963fa3cedf9cb6a952be17c7ae2d1ee127d9102047e58b4 "

I search in the monerochain explorer return "Transaction not found"

but the Transaction ID can be found in block "cd96ae7fd830d8b4e86184994ba6423fd9df6b6873cbd06d32d104c1dcac6f9e"

I contact the staff of bter.com but they deny that they had received the XMR . The reason is "the Transaction can not be found on monerochain explorer"

My walllet return that
2014-Sep-01 00:52:05.589673 Transaction successfully sent. <<dd9179aae7655f9f2963fa3cedf9cb6a952be17c7ae2d1ee127d9102047e58b4>>

I refresh my wallet in these two days The 43.9 XMR just got disappeared!

Can anyone help me out? Thanks a lot!
I don't have any relation with XMR or monerochain.info, but you can prove it by using alternative block explorers:
http://chainradar.com/xmr/transaction/dd9179aae7655f9f2963fa3cedf9cb6a952be17c7ae2d1ee127d9102047e58b4

monerochain.info has some problems, I cannot find your transaction there. It must be a problem in their scripts.

why was FCN removed from Poloniex?
Small volume that don't cover the expenses or polo is related to hitbtc.
