I still don't get what this has to do with some "exploit" (?) mentioned by jkminkov on the last page.

What do you mean by "all pool reserves"? It's not possible to fake work/shares, so no one can earn more than he should accounting for his contributed work. What kind of exploit are you talking about? No other PPS Pool waits for 120 confirmations. (Because that's *usually* the concept of PPS.)

I'm just wondering.
483  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [104 Gh] MtRed (PPS, LP+, API **0 FEEs**) Merged Mining Temporarily Disabled on: April 12, 2012, 11:49:26 AM
Then why wait for 120 confirmations? Also, isn't it a problem to have 0-fee and at the same time pay for orphans? I mean look at ArsBitcoin and their buffer of -1000 BTC...

But as rejects are down to 0.4% for me, I'm switching over to Mt. Red now - please keep the stales this low (or even lower Smiley )
484  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [104 Gh] MtRed (PPS, LP+, API **0 FEEs**) Merged Mining Temporarily Disabled on: April 11, 2012, 10:33:08 PM
What's keeping me from mining with Mt. Red are very high stales (> 1%).
I don't care about MM/NMC, but usually (on other pools) I have a reject rate of 0.1% or less (0.01% on BTCGuild).
Seriously?  You're paying 5% in fees instead of losing (presumably) <2% in stales?
What about orphan blocks? AFAIR reject rate was about 2-3%. It looks like you don't get paid for orphan blocks, so that makes another 1-1.5%. Not too far from the 5% fee I'm paying at BTC Guild.

But I'll give Mt. Red another try.

After starting cgminer, is it safe to delete the .bin-files or will that break functionality?
Reason is I want to run cgminer from one folder on different machines (dropbox folder) and they don't have the same SDK installed.

What's wrong with something like this? (I think about purchasing one)

On Windows, can I use a driver version which does NOT officialy support the 7970 as long as the newest SDK is installed?
489  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [110% TESTING] I want your hashing power! "Project #2" on: March 27, 2012, 02:06:05 PM
I have very high stale rates on this pool, up to 3%. Someone having the same problem? Or did someone even solve it?
Here is my cgminer config (for one rig with a mixed 7970/5850 setup, driver 12.2):

"temp-cutoff" : "95",
"auto-fan" : false,
"auto-gpu" : false,
"expiry" : "120",
"failover-only" : true,
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"log" : "5",
"queue" : "1",
"retry-pause" : "5",
"scan-time" : "60",
"temp-hysteresis" : "3",
"shares" : "0",
"submit-stale" : true,

"kernel-path" : ".",

I was asked to set it to 10 seconds (because of a high stale rate).

How can I set the getwork delay (if such a setting exists)?

Last GPU was Fermi, now we have Kepler, then Maxwell. What do these names have in common? All three were great physicists...

496  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: explorer.exe crash hours after boot, BSOD after days on: March 16, 2012, 02:28:19 PM
I found 12.x series drivers and 58x0 cards really dont go together well, if you drop the 7970 out and go back to 11.11 drivers does the system become stable?
I don't know (yet) Wink Can I just reinstall 11.11 and leave the SDK alone or do I also need to remove the SDK (by hand)?

gotta love microsoft, don't ya.
Of course, it's always microsoft failing... can't be AMD, because their drivers are always perfect </IRONY>
497  Bitcoin / Mining support / explorer.exe crash hours after boot, BSOD after days on: March 15, 2012, 10:59:20 AM
Using an AX1200, P8P67 WS Board, Windows 7 32-bit, Cat 12.2pre and latest cgminer with 2x5850/5870/7970 I'm experiencing a strange problem:

- 1-2 hours after booting the system, explorer.exe crashes (".. is no longer working and needs to be resarted"). Eventlog says crash in explorer.exe/shell32.dll, exception code 0xc0000005.

- after 7-10 days, the system resets with a bluescreen, errorcode 0x0000007e.

This has now happend two times.

The system ran fine for months(!) without reboot, but then I replaced one dead card with the 7970, installed 12.2pre (was using 11.8 before) and fiddled around with memclocks. I restored the memclocks to stock settings for now and replaced the RAM...

Wondering if anyone has experienced something similar and can give me a hint?

498  Local / Biete / Re: VERKAUFT - 9 Mining Rigs, 2x6990 pro Rechner on: March 07, 2012, 09:29:23 PM

Wink
