Thanks Subtuppel.... that info helped.

So, this guy made his account 17 days ago... and I am really begining to feel like I'm watching the hashtalkers get treated like chum over there.

While what he says can be GENERALLY true... I'm pretty sure and SEC + what ever other agencies investigation + multiple platforms that don't function for crap + no payouts on their hashstakers + no actual developers + almost community wide ridicule.... does not bode well for XPY as a crypto currency in the middle of about 100+ other knock off coins that are out there.

Is there any way for XPY to survive? Like say Garza is pulled out of the picture, are there processors out there to even keep the XPY network running w/out the GAW data centers? If those go down, won't the currency basically cease to exist and come to a full halt?

So, I've been watching the chart at bitcoinwisdom.com for longer than I care to admit. I've never used an exchange...

Are these people really selling/buying 0.1xxx of a coin that is 1XPY = @ $0.45? Or is the chart somehow showing 1 = 1,000?
Also, when an filled order goes into the lower right box, is the red = a filled buy order and the green = a filled sell order?
Also, when do they pay fees? do the people on both sides of the order pay? So, that would be (best case) 0.25% to each side, so 0.5% of the sale?
Is there a link to anything the gives a bitcoinwisdom interface for dummies (like never been on an exchange before level dummies)?
483  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: April 06, 2015, 04:00:59 PM
The pure idiocy involved in stating that you are going to increase your inventory by accepting $.42 XPY for $1 wins this effing moron the hammerhead award.

Meta: I was having a conversation this weekend with someone, and we came up with a conundrum of "Is society really trending towards an idiocracy, or is it that society over history has always had this degree of idiocracy, but the internet has given them the ultimate communication tool/outlet, so we're just seeing more of it ?"

edit: a word

First... has Garza missed the boat?  Does eBay take XPY directly now?  Or is this guy listing on eBay then selling off line... that'll get his account kicked from eBay in a heart beat because they want their cut.

Second... checking all of the serial numbers on all of my paper bills... $75 for a $5 that isn't even in good condition? as a birthday present for someone who's 87 years old this year?  The big question is, with being 87yo and an Aug birthday... do you buy now to lock in the value and risk having to display it ironically at the funeral... or do you wait and see if it's still there when the 87yo makes it to late July?

Third... @Xian01 -- humans are very social and subject to confirmation bias that is a VERY strong aspect of all people. Everyone here and there is subject to it... it causes the formation of "cultures" (this place is a culture and hashtalk is a culture). Since hashtalk excluded differing voices for so long, the current members are very deep into their culture and into their confirmation bias. Anything that goes against that group-think is bad, like a tiger attacking the clan level bad. Had those people been on a site w/out the moderation, or had they never invested heavily into the XPY idea (also causes confirmation bias)... they might be entirely reasonable people.

So, the hashtalk.org site is a prime example that the Internet is actually enabling society to move closer to Idiocracy at a faster rate. There are plenty of other examples out there. So, my argument is that society was not this bad in the past because in the past, you talked face to face and generally, you don't get that many extreme personalities in one geographic location.  But, now, I could post a "kittens are destroying the environment" forum and develop a group of people who feel that it's imperative that we destroy all felines and they would be entirely, and genuinely, bought into the idea. But, I could do that because I only need to collect a couple hundred people out of maybe 2 billion English speaking/internet accessible humans on the globe... instead of finding them in my home town.

Another hashtard with a brilliant plan to save peecoin.
https://hashtalk.org/topic/34739/mining-the-trend-lets-take-xpy-back

At least that was started 2 weeks ago. (still that thought process even two weeks ago?) The new post at the bottom is pushing people to a page full of referral links for miners that just happened to be updated yesterday... considering the over priced metals guy and some others that I've seen on that site... the site seems to act like chum in the water for the scammer sharks that are out there.

I guess I don't really know the answer, but I thought he didn't pay the $1million?  I posted here and this guy claims his sources are impeccable.  Maybe someone can help me answer his question or contact his source?

http://www.thedomains.com/2014/08/09/quick-chat-with-josh-garza-the-man-who-bought-btc-com-for-1million/#comments

In the released google account emails, there is an email exchange where garza didn't make the payment of $25k and the escrow agent was notifying him that he would begin reversion on a certain date in Feb 2015. Garza claimed his accountant was in the hospital and the domain owner agreed to give an extension of a day or two. And that's where the email exchange quit. So, the domain is with and escrow agent and there are routine payments in the amount of $25k. Even at monthly, that's nearly 4 years to pay off a million, so I'm guessing at the monthly payment. So, the poster is correct in the sense that Garza doesn't technically own it YET, but he is executing a contract to buy it (based on the current site that comes up when you go there and the fact that all of Garza's other domains are being pointed at that domain name).

Here is the email exchange: https://archive.today/iKu2N

Of course, it occurs to me that Homero's reply is actually referring to the claim in the OP saying there would be a "Seized by . . ." page in place as a result of being under investigation by the SEC and DoJ.

So, hey, he's telling the truth this time! Trouble is, he is doing so only by wording it in such a way as his flock think he's talking about the CCN article contents.

Paybase.com is owned by a guy named Walter Long... if they consider him a by-stander or he's assisting the investigation, there's no reason to take the domain name anyway. They're investigating Josh Garza and GAW Miners, LLC... so paybase.com is really a side-issue. You're more likely to see ZenMiner.com (owned by Chris Levato of Utah) go down, since that's where the majority of the activity happened. But, even then... allowing people to buy a fake product and making fake payouts with fake money isn't exactly like enabling drug sales where REAL drugs are transferred between REAL people (often in different countries). Since both sites are kind of off line now anyway (so paybase can't work to 'fix' the markets)... there's no reason to do anything but take ghosted copies of the servers for evidence and analysis.

But, speaking of winners out of all of this... the owner of BTC.com stands to potentially be a big winner. He's been getting $25k/mo against the domain that's in escrow until paid off. If they quit paying the escrow, that domain will go back to the owner and he'll have gotten a pretty nice rental out of the domain name for how ever long garza had control of it. (of course, that's assuming one of garza's whales don't take over the escrow payments)

Well,here ya go!!!

http://www.beveragesdirect.com/Brawndo.aspx

no XPY are not accepted,sorry

Hehehe.... went to link and at first say PayPal and mind went PayCoin....

For those not familiar, Brawndo was the energy drink that was killing all the plants in the movie Idiocracy ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idiocracy )
489  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: April 06, 2015, 10:46:22 AM
So, they're trying to buy more hashstakers or something over there... ( https://hashtalk.org/topic/35693/hashmarket-on-zencloud/6 )

They can't get BTC to move around, interface is giving an error instead of actual BTC values...
They can't get past a captcha challenge that's broke, so someone posted the work around (that I hope is really a joke, but involves disconnecting from internet at one point)
They can't make their purchases
They can't withdraw XPY from one platform unless they use lower values
The site is going online / offline several times over the course of a single day
This shoddy performance seems 'normal' to them as they have work arounds and tell war stories of 'the last it was doing this...'

THIS is all from the company that was going to innovate the new banking system for the internet to revolutionize global finance?  If even half this stuff happened on a commercial bank site for even a day... it would be headline news for weeks and customers would leave in droves. Yet, these people are storing BTC on that site. I can see storing XPY there... but BTC actually has real value and they're paying BTC for hashstakers?  This is starting to feel like watching some sort of super, complex, Commedy Central level hoax about fiscal Darwinism... I swear, if a site selling Brawndo for XPY only pops up... i'll probably pee myself laughing.

does he have to put his children into every damn pic  Huh

Being the sociopath that he is, his children are just a convenient prop for him.

You know... that really is probably very close to reality. Kids are also a very common prop for grifters because they cause the viewer to subconciously like and trust the person who is 'caring for' the kid. So, it wouldn't be surprising if he is doing that intentionally. Notice that he doesn't include the wife as often (would make females feel he's unavailable), but when she is included, it's only when she's completely done up and displayed in front of something expensive (makes guys think he's good provider that landed a hottie).

It would be really interesting to see the demo of the people who are still bought into his scam. Wonder if you could get that data from the SEC or who ever busts him. I would think they would at least make an attempt to identify the victims.

Prove it...   On April 9 are you planning to sell a bunch of XPY?  On April 9 will we hear "Look this post was fake, all those 'ex-employee' posts must be?"

Reads like a pump and dump (tank the price and sell on the rebound) or an anti-trolling statement (discredit legitimate statements).

I have to say that even if he is a troll... if there's a rebound after he's proven wrong... this XPY could be the new rapid field IQ sorter and governments should seriously reconsider allowing XPY buyers the ability to vote... or drive cars... or even handle sharp objects without adult supervision.

Wonder if he intended to make his jail time LOOK like he was actually living abroad instead? I hear they get internet access from the fancy prisons....

I see, those two tweets Homero did are to populate his new website:

https://twitter.com/gawceo no longer exists?

He's probably high as f*ck and hope his life will disappear or something. Such an industry innovator right?  Roll Eyes

Edit - he banned me about 5 months ago on twitter. I'm betting he read today's post about his fake followers. Wink

Well, that twitter feed has also had the crap archived out of it... but the most recent is Mar 28th. I downloaded a .maff file of it today (10MB+! gawd talk about narcissist!)

I read back through his posts and he said that "Jake" is a fake name till he testifies. So, that would probably make Jake Abel the least likely candidate.  I'm hesitant to do any more guessing since the guy said he's asking for police protection until he's testified. If he gets people to convert to BTC with what ever little they have, then good on him. But, if what he said is true...

Is anybody else seeing a very clear pattern here?  We had coinfire yesterday outlining all the serious threats they have been receiving.  We had Jonah Dorman posting about threats and being followed by suspicious cars a week ago, and now this. (If authentic).

Well, if you look back at that email exchange with joe mordica (sp?) garza sounded pretty paranoid and bitchy... he had access to a heck of a lot of funds and the charming personality of a coke addict... remember the body guards in FL?  it would fit the movie plot if he was hiring 'private investigators' to harass people that had pissed him off. Guess it'll have to be jessica that sells the book and movie rights since josh won't be eligible to profit from his crimes. At this rate, maybe we should start a betting pool for when they try a TV series: "SVU-CryptoCrimes" I'm thinking Fall 2016.

I have no idea if the following post is legit or not:
quick update

I have officially resigned from my duties @ gaw. DOJ is true they have come in and even confiscated my personal macbook air and galaxy note 4 mobile so yes i am going to take charges against gawminers, they even owe me for the last 4 for my work , the news has gone out to investors also and they are also taking action against gaw , sec have found hundreds of forged documents/emails. Matlack is also part of the scam and he is the sole owner of at east 5 prime controllers without paying a single cent. april 8 is when everything shuts down. Once I get my macbook back if i do i will post some documents that i saved which will show everyone the amount of corruption. i am being served to provide evidence against gawminers at court however received countless threats from gawminers in relation to this i am heading to police to ask for protection until the court time is up. when the price of paycoin goes down garza makes an announcement to bring the price back up everytime. in reality there is and will not be any new features uptades if you are reading this right now convert all your paycoin to btc whilst you can and move on because in the next few day price will hit 0.000001, we were forced to get paid in paycoins at the start so in the end all the work i have done costed them $86 where it should be $10000 range

very sad
Jake

Who is "Jake"?

If that's true about the paycoin payments and $85, the guy needs to start a complaint with the Dept of Labor over wage theft (for all who were paid that way) and in prep for a civil case so that can be in the works to try to get some funds out of the seizures because IF they can say garza sold even a few ounces of drugs along the way, they can try to seize ALL his personal assets for auction without regard to their value compared to amounts owed on fines. Between everyone who's going after garza, i'd be willing to bet his accounts are all frozen already, including any registered BTC trading firms. Frozen accounts... small consolation for all those people who waited weeks for their paybase accounts to unfreeze. Hopefully paybase is function now so they can at least get their BTC out of there.

https://hashtalk.org/topic/35750/if-paybase-was-shut-down-by-doj-there-would-be-a-doj-fbi-message-on-the-homepage/14

Quote
If Paybase was shut down by the DOJ they would have taken control of the domain paybase.com. They would have replaced the homepage with a page that says Paybase was seized by the DOJ or that the FBI was investigating or whatever.

Since the homepage is normal we can be assured that the articles are false.

Are you all such lemmings that you believe everything you read in the "false" media?

Then further down, some asks GAWCEO directly if he's being investigated by SEC... no response yet.

Since this document ( http://www.scribd.com/doc/260708659/Securities-and-Exchange-Commission-Subpoena-of-GAW-Miners ) explicitly states "investigation" into GAW Miners, LLC ... wonder how he'll spin it?  Some on there said that it's a GOOD thing he's being investigated because that means that he's big enough for them to care about what he's doing.  Now, that's such a cute way of looking at it... bet the SEC wishes EVERYONE felt that way when they're investigated.

An interesting read about Tony Musso...

Wow, I could provide links to each of your points where garza paralleled these tactics. Including one where he claimed that you could 'easily make six figures mining bitcoin'... my first thoughts were (a) is that with an investment of nearly seven figures, (b) is he counting the two digits after the decimal point, and (c) is this in a year or over the next century?

The more research I've done, the more sad I get for the bulk of his victims because his tactics are SO CLEAR in hind sight, yet I can see how he knew just how and when to play them. It's hard to figure out if he's a psychopath or just got lucky... because he really doesn't appear to be very intellectually bright and he's technologically nearly a complete idiot. The saddest part is, that if he gets busted out of the tech industry... he's probably going to end up a politician. So, right now, I'm REALLY hoping that he runs to Hong Kong instead.
