Looks good Barwizi!
Is the nrb block chain up and running?
I have about 100k+ nrb stuck on cryptsy.

I am setting up a few nodes to facilitate the process. I will update later today on my progress. If not , we will ask the exchanges to handle the swap.

Minor GUI changes for further development.
Changed stake to Unlimited maxage
Added Support for Wacth only Addresses

Known issues

Lotto suspended (it is in the dev branch (unpublished) ) I noticed some very odd behaviour that needs further investigation. (will update, maybe i can make it in time for launch.)

Donate suspended (this will come with lotto integration)

Icons (the icon set i used has....issues)

Blockchain size (this will become evident later) It tends to bloat due to the addition of a plethora of functions.

Please , if you notice and other issues open an issue report on github once the update is made available.

Community involvement and rewards Programme

There will be a 5 NRS reward for all valid issue reports. This is to encourage the community to help with improving the software.

There will be rewards for submitting bug fixes categorized as follows

GUI  5 - NRS - 100 NRS
Wallet  100 NRS - 1000 NRS
Database 100 NRS - 1100 NRS
Critical - 300 NRS - 4000 NRS
Minor - 50 NRS - 500 NRS
Documentation - 10 NRS each fix

If you feel the need for other tags, please feel free.

The (Coming soons)

Most of the work has already been done and maybe some of them will be part of the first phase, they have been temporarily labelled as such due to some of the sensitive areas they affect in the code, or in the business model. Transactions are what hold the blockchain together, as a result any modification to the structure and behaviour needs thorough testing, and even after it can be prone to problems.

Without making too much of a promise, i will just say i am making frantic efforts to get everything working , before launch. Depending on the Shareholder group, (if they vote in the affirmative) I may delay launch by a few days, to make sure i get the lotto working.

What's Next?

Well, first off, gotta get everything working. Then I will begin investigating recent developments in the crypto sphere to get a general idea of what to do next.

I have already looked at "Dual netting" and "Colored coins", and they may factor into Phase 2 of the NRS update.

Why In NRS ? Why no new coins/shares?

My recent conversations with prominent business minds and crypto buffs has lead me to believe that my approach towards DACs needs modifying. One of the key issues is the "extended" alt-coin spring. A new coin is scoming out every few hours , maybe in some cases with a few new ideas, (most of them never implemented), i have resolved that NRS platform is not saturaed yet, as a result, releasing a new "token/coin" without fully exhausting the NRS platform is wasteful and rather narrow minded. This means that any and all ideas that can be added to NRS without as huge a change as i had to do this time, will be done on top of NRS. No new unnecessary coins/shares/tokens, without just cause.

When to expect new coins/shares/tokens?

Only when a completely new chain is required to implement the features, and NRS WILL feature prominently with a huge % of the overall money supply.

Questions can be posted here, in Skype group or on freenode #NoirShares

Guys can we please change the color scheme on a few thing

https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net

At lets face it - THEY LOOK SHIT . every person would need to adjust there screen just to read it.
Black backgrounds with even darker black texts

We really need some updates  at least once a month

both Twitter and Facebook are both dead with no activity in over 2 months. (i have ask if i could join the team and help if you need media feedback)

 3rd

What happening with the DAC is the biggest thing in the NRS history and we haven't heard any thing about it.
You can clearly see from the Price charts that there less interest then a dog breakfast

PTS are launching their 2nd DAC in a months time and more people know more about it then NRS first DAC.

Lets work together and try to rebuild the community Smiley

sorry, when i am working, i forget there are people waiting on me.

New look for the wallet. I will be integrating the Lotto on top of NRS as you can see. Also , in the second phase we will have a "Business Suite" in the wallet.

Now would be a good time to move your NRS and NRB to your local wallet, this quarter's snapshots are just three days away

I'm on freenode today in #NoirShares

Let's discuss the coming few weeks.

NRS update is ready, i am just waiting for the snapshot date and our CFO.
484  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ChromaWallet (colored coins): issue and trade private currencies/stocks/bonds/.. on: August 24, 2014, 09:38:21 PM
Is there any way to incentivise the uptake of ChromaWallet amongst people running bitcoin nodes, and/or is there any chance support for it could be incorporated into bitcoin core?

I saw the code on the git, maybe the first step would be to re-write in c++. then figure a way to graft it.
485  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin 2.0 on: August 23, 2014, 06:34:11 AM
the bitcoin genesis, bitcoin protocol and the 5 years of blocks are only at 0.9
will you get it into your head that unless a blockchain contains bitcoins genesis block and 5year block history, then it is simply no version of bitcoin and is purely an altcoin

As someone who has lost considerable amounts from failed or dishonest exchanges and from regulatory seizure of accounts and on centalized crypto equity markets:

The central points of failure in Bitcoin are well known and are very worrying.
De-centralization is of paramount importance.

Bitcoin 2.0 projects are attempting to do away with centralized points of failure by providing decentralized banks and decentralized exchanges and decentralized markets.

Let's hope one or more of them succeeds.

what you are describing is businesses which is a layer/step away from the protocol. and its not that exciting. localbitcoins has been a decentralised exchange for a long time.

all these altcoins are just redesigning the wheel where the function already exists, but the 'spit and pollish' makes their gimmicks sound and look new. i have yet to see anything that is what i would describe as 'special' or unique, worthy of adding to bitcoins protocol

Here's the dev behind one 2.0 project:

"BTSX was designed with the assumption that all crypto would be banned from formal exchanges.   The need for a trust-free proxy to the dollar / gold / silver was required as well as decentralized price discovery.   Localbitcoins is much more viable with BTSX and BitAssets because you don't have to match bid/ask/location... just location."

Just wanna point out that the original idea for BTC is peer to peer , not centralized exchange.

Are noirbitstalk.org/noirtalk.com ever coming back?

The forum was lacking activity and management. Once we get a viable manager, we will have it again.

Attention

Please move your NRS to your Local Wallets. On August 31st we will be taking a snapshot of the blockchain.

What is a Snapshot

A snapshot is a record of the blockchain in a particular instance. We use the balances of each individual account to allocate shares or coins in any other blockchain. The Snapshot also provides information on how long people have been holding shares in their respective wallets. Shares on exchanges are another matter altogether.

What will it be used for?

The NRS snapshot is going to be used in two immediate plans, namely

1) NoirLotto
2) NoirMerge

What is NoirLotto?

NoirLotto is the groups shot at trying a crypto-based Lotto, an official ANN will be made later with all details. (For those who know the baics of the project , some of the specs have changed.)

What is NoirMerge?

NoirMerge is basically a merger of our two chains NRB and NRS. By using snapshots , we can allocate each individual their respective share in the new dominant chain the reflects our dedication to a unified approach to our business plan. The splitting of time between projects has caused a slow down in actually completed work and a lot of unrest amongst users.

This is how it will work.

There are ~ 2.5 million NRS and ~ 2.2 million NRB.

On the day of the snapshot, we will also record the market prices which we will then use to calculate what allocation each individual will get.

For example at current rates  1 NRS = ~ 9 NRB

This means that a simple 1 - 9 conversion will leave us with a total supply of  ~ 2.72 million shares. AT current rates this means that NRS will represent 90% of the chain with NRB at 10%. this however is subject to the prices on the actual date and time of the snapshot. should the prices drop or rise, we could see wholly different figures.

The new chain will simply be called Noir. ( i have no better idea at the moment)

Why the merge?

More Development time allocation
Less time wasted of planning for two platforms
More unified drive (noone gets left behind)

More information to come from the CMO and our new COO. (this is just me posting as CDO)

I agree that the Alt coin arena needs some mods, can you take time to please answer the following issues

1) Operation Shitclone
2) your hand picked attacks on coins
3) your other "controversies"

I dont know all the criteria required to even be considered a mod, but i think your general position in the forum is ok. As long as you are fair and keep your ideas and opinions out of your mod policy, I endorse you.

Maybe get together with some other aspiring mods, make a bid and if the sections' users agree, we'll keep pestering until you get the poz or they assign a lot more active mods.

1) I have never been a member of *this* Operation Shitcoin Cleanout and made it clear in the very early stages of it. I have been on my own cleanup for over 3+ years starting with IXC in early 2011. I have had many people try to get me to join and my *not* joining this group is the reason it has no bite.

2) I have indeed knocked so off many coins in various attack vectors I do not even remember them all but I have never done so for profit. I have never extorted any coin or have accepted coins to *not* attack a coin. The only payment ever received by me was 35,000 Namecoin in 2011 that was unsolicited and sent to a sig address. There is no method to my selection. It usually involves a shit talking dev or a straight up con artist. Auroracoin was a recent prime example which was the last coin I dealt with in this manner.

3) Other controversies...again I really do not care if people like me or not.

The reason I want to be a mod is to cleanup the Alt Sections and nothing more. I do not have a particular affinity for any clone coin. The only coins I hold in any large amount are Bitcoin and Litecoin. I do possess dozens of wallets (some large respective to the coin) of various coins pre-Cryptsy days from a number of 51% attacks, hitting shitcoin exchanges and other web sites and "mining for experimental reasons".

I do not even keep track of them as they meaningless to me. For a while after Cryptsy launched I was simply dumping them all on Cryptsy but that has become a pain in the ass over the past few months. So once again I either just archive them or delete them.

I think I would be a good mod as I have the experience in Alts to determine the bullshit from the rest. I would not be there to regulate the "scams" or to stop scamcoins per say as that is not what Bitcointalk mods do.

I would how ever put a screeching stop to a lot of the "stupid" shit that is definitely disruptive.

~BCX~

That is what we need. While the board is part of the forum as a whole...the mod policy may need to be a bit more aggressive...they dont have an ANN section in Bitcoin Discussion. If they did they would understand our concerns.

You have my support. Hopefully they instate you and a few others.

I have not tried to contact the dev yet but am wondering what it would take to revive this coin. I am truly interested but have totally different ideas then what the community is currently accustomed to. Please do not criticize me or anything else, I am just looking for an opportunity to change the game. If anyone has information or personal contacts with the dev (in the event they don't respond) please send me a message. I see coins die everyday that have true potential in one way or another but they are lacking some very basic fundamentals. If you are a venture capitalist or someone interested in my game plan feel free to contact me. This does not mean this coin is going to the moon, but I think through hard work and development early adopters of this coin can definitely benefit from it. I am an honest person who wants to see the crypto world evolve and I believe I have just the game plan for it. Again if you have personal contacts with the dev team or information of how to perform a takeover, let me know. I might not have a trillion posts in this forum but I have motivation and belief and that is something the world has been founded on for success. If you can help and are skeptical, I am willing to Skype or whatever to prove to you I am for real. Thank you all and I hope to hear from at least some of you.

try contacting barwizi

I can throw a day or two at the code, but the main issue is actually marketing, that needs full-time attention which i cant give.

After going through LottoShares i have come to the following conclusion:- not enough people bet so an integrated pot will be wastefull and unproductive until there are enough people.

So instead of having a "pot" that you take wiining from i am devising a different system that allows for a more flexible system that can handle any number of users. It not complete yet but the gist of it is that within 5 bands of usage and pot size it can either just award rom the pot or it can multiply the pot in order to make winnings significant enough. I'll explain when i have the full concept and hae run some tests.

Barwizi, why did you decide to stop mining at block 50K?
we want to mine NRS again, it could help!

The long term plan is to have one unified currency. WHen i was new i joined the scrypt clone game, i created NRB with the hopes of playing around with it and experimenting. That didnt turn out so well, but it had a few supporters. When i came up with the Noir Group idea, i intended to start from NRB then realised that scrypt was a dying breed, from there i made NRS but with the promise to keep NRB holders in the game.

My reasons are as follows

1) I want to merge NRS and NRB chains... we can then have mining when they are merged. However i intend to make stake more viable than mining in order to promote "green" crypto.
2) For a currency to be truly useful it has to be finite, NRS was intended to be 5 million, but when i looked at how much power was wasted  mining, i thought those funds can be put to better use actually propping up the currency (which was working fine until i started being accused of dumping)

Mining will be re-instated in due time, for now i need to merge the chains and test all the new ideas i have put up in the currency code.
Things move slow with me because i like to be sure and fair. Even now i have to calculate how many NRS NRB golder will get in the merged chain while still keeping NRS holders happy.

I cannot sync my wallet. My debug file is here

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9wS1MU8AsmNSU1MWE5UaWFFTUU

you are on the wrong chain

Quote
send version message: version 60006, blocks=49319, us=169.234.83.58:8500, them=114.226.122.54:8500,
receive version message: version 60006, blocks=62323, us=169.234.83.58:2791, them=114.226.122.54:8500, peer=114.226.122.54:8500

Redownload your chain while using the block explorer as a node.

No luck, just getting application crashes on launch.

Tried a few different PC's...

Don't stress it's not worth the effort, only 3k NRS...

No luck, just getting application crashes on launch.

Tried a few different PC's...

Don't stress it's not worth the effort, only 3k NRS...

send debug.log to me. Some are having issues and some are not on windows. All linux users are ok so i am dealing with it on a case basis.

I am so far unable to replicate the sync issue. All my wallets are in sync and so is the block explorer. Anyone else having this issue?

On that point, we will be taking a quick snapshot of the chain as is. This snapshot will be use to just migrate us to a new codebase.

NRB now has functional wallet and i am just waiting on exchanges to respond then i will make the new one public.

Ok, but what does this mean for the NRS I transferred from Poloniex to my wallet ??
How come they did not arrive in my wallet ?

Can somebody please inform me what action to take ?
Are you guys still fixing this ?
Or should I contact Poloniex because they made a mistake ?

Please some help on what we need to do and what's going on

1,5 days after my withdrawal from Poloniex I also finally received my NRS in my wallet.

Does anyone have a clue what was (is?) causing these delays from Poloniex side ?

I think their wallet is having issues. This is one of the reasons i have been working on the codebase upgarde. PoS wallets have a tendency to get iffy once a certain number of tx come up. I witnessed this first hand when i was playing around with Pennies aka CENT.
