Read the rules, if you have 99 merit, then I can review your posts. It's so simple. Same here, read before you apply. This is a service for those who need 1 merit only.

I love the idea to fMerit shitpostiers as we are meriting the quality posts now. This is better than trust and very useful, and the name is just perfect for this purpose. If a comment includes "sir", or it's just "great project", "good project" post etc. should be fMerited automatically.
Now we can have a tool to measure the shitposters too.

The new new system broke my life. see hereI'm so disappointed with the new system. I thought that in a few years I can go up to Legendary, but now with the new new rules it will take at least a decade. It is pointless to register new accounts anymore because to join any campaign you'll need Karma and it is impossible to get some. This forum is doomed. Bitcoin is doomed. I rage-quit. I'm just locking this thread with sadness... It was nice to meet good people here... Just an April Fool's joke!

LOL, when you see Pharmacist having a politeness score of 1195, you know that this new system is April Fool's joke! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) It actually is a real stat (counting instances of "thanks" etc. in posts). But he has a lot of posts. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I know it's just an April Fool's joke but let it be for a little bit longer, it's sooo entertaining ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

It's 1st of April today, right? Politeness How polite you have been in your posts, using language such as "please" and "sir". Politeness is after all the cornerstone of any good community.

Thanks for the kind words. I had the honour to make another remarkable user -TheQuin a Hero, some days ago. He is also a good example of a contributor. Learn quite some good stuff from him myself. The avatar represent me, still newbie in the field, but I love my beard. I'll probably will change it with the time.

Any of the members doing this reviewing, how many sMerits do they have? I'm saying they should have thousands of sMerits to distribute now that they are working hard and posting pages of content. you are doing the same amount of work as a merit source with 1000+ sMerits, your job results in 1 merit distribution, their job results in hundreds. what you are doing is waste of your time. others could do the same, without actually wanting to help, they might see this as an opportunity to increase their post count because there is no rule against it.
I do not hold 1000+ sMerit but I do have some I received, and instead of wasting time in digging for good posts in all the sections only to distribute them fairly to the people, I prefer to give a chance to the ones that already have received something and are needing just 1-2 merit to rank up. Don't get me wrong, I do give merit to people outside my service too. Maybe 1 or 2 are nothing for you, but yesterday for example TheQuin helped me by point out something I was puzzling for quite some time and I wanted to give him some merit. I saw that he needed only 3 point to rank up to Hero and I just gave them because he deserves them. So I think even a small amount, I can put it in a good use. Think about the newbies or lets say Jr. Members, they need 10 points to rank up. Almost no one is reading newbies comments as they are 90% crap but, there are actually some good people with good intentions, I'm trying to help them. Sure many shitposters do apply but this is also a good thing. I check everyone and If I see some shitty behavior I do report them, also I keep clean my thread and from time to time, remove the shitposter's applications.

OMFG, really. Now I saw it, bitcointalk.to! I never enter any login info. The weirdest thing was that this new tab pop-up just after I accidentally push something on the original forum, I thought that I clicked on log out button, but it's not the case. I don't know how it happen.

I got the same issue. I accidentally logged out on my mobile and when I tried to login back got this error: https://imgur.com/gallery/ju4IfStrange that I had many tabs openon my browser so I logged out only on one tab,on the others I'm still logged in.

What is this copper stuff?
Copper membership gives rights to the newbies to post images, but they have to pay a fee. I think it also removes some limitations to send PMs.

Here is a statement from theymos regarding the same type of service by QuestionAuthority: I agree with this approach. I considered giving merit proportional to activity, but I decided not to because doing so would probably give far more undeserved merit than deserved merit in total. But undoubtedly some people got screwed by this, and if they have decent posts, by all means, give them the 250 or 500 merit that they need to rank-up.
I also agree with the idea of (free) "reviewer" topics in general, for finding high-quality posts that went unnoticed. Barcode_ created one in the Chinese section, as well.

Hey man, you are not qualified. Stay away from short posts, learn a bit more, English is not a border for you and looks like you have some potential to do better. Good luck, hope to see your improvement here.
You do not qualify. Read the rules.

It took me a long time to work that out to begin with. Wow you just made me Hero ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Well, Congrats, you deserve it you know. I can say I learns some stuff by reading your comments. You helped me with something I was puzzling with for quite some time so.. just keep doing what you are doing now. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Have you used the "Ignore Boards Preferences" on your profile? If so that would explain why some posts are hidden. You can use incognito mode on your browser and they'll reappear.
Didn't thought about that, you a right. OMG, I was wondering what is happening for many days now, seen people with large post count but almost only 2-3 posts in the history list to see. Thanks, here some merit!

Other interesting thing is that they have activity and post count different than the actual posts. See below. Is this kind of bug? The comment from the patrol page is missing in the showPosts, the activity and post count change almost every 5 min but no new comments are listed.
Activity doesn't always update as fast as post count. Some of them are nuked so that's why their posts disappear. I know about the activity but here I meant that the post count and post history do differ. I did't express myself properly, sry. On the last two pictures as an example of pyg3141191 / I see now he is nuked/ you can see what I mean. On the first one, he as 21 posts but on the second one in the "Show the last posts of this person." he has only 4 comments.

~ No, you won't receive any reply from the staff...The only way to know it is by looking at the post you reported, if it's gone then someone act on it, if it doesn't, maybe no one is around to handle your report or if nothing happens, check your report to moderator stats, if your accuracy is declining, then most probably your report was not correct/accurate...
To do so, after some time, like a few days just try to report one post to see what is your accuracy. Just choose a random post and click "report to moderator" and you will see your accuracy rate, no need to report anything if you are just checking. If you have 100%, everything is good. If it is less than 100%, the mod has considered that the one you reported is not breaking the rules.

Quick look into your profile shows me that you are active in those meaningless mega-threads only for activity. The other possible good posts are in Filipino and I cannot awards something I don't understand. Some of the ones you got merit for are deleted. Anyways if you collect two more merit points to fulfill the requirements you may come back and I try to find someone with Filipino to check your quality. I would like to have this service available for more languages, not only English but it is not an easy task.

If I want to be a sponsor, do I need to send you merit? or just state my commitment here? I know you mentioned whoever use your service shouldn't send you merit but you haven't said anything about the procedure on "how to be a sponsor" I didn't though that so many will be interested to help my service in the beginning. Well it's up to you guys,I don't ask in any way to give me Merit, and I will never do. If you want to be a sponsor, just monitor the thread and you see someone deserving award, then do how you like, of course I will check the given sMerit just in case of someone trying to abuse my service in giving shitposters/alts merit. I'll think a little to come with the best solution, but in the mean time I'll put you on the list as sponsor, like LogitechMouse. Do you have a specific sMerit amount you think to share or I can just list you as sponsor and you decide what you to give.
Hello good day! If you are willing also for a newbie like me to be rank up to jr.member please see my account if you don't mind. I need atleast one to be ranked up. And thanks for helping users about this we are gladly appreciated your kindness.
And as you said no one can merited you back. Because of the law of merits. Then how can we repay you about this. Can you give some advise or message for us?
Read the rules before you apply. PS.You don't need merit to rank up to Jr. only activity, as far as I know there are no changes in this rule. No need to repay me, I'm not doing this for profit.

Congrats anyway, you have done a great job but I would poing out one thing. hugablack recieved a good part by participating on different forms of merit giveaways. Also a good part of your merits is also coming from merit related posts and threads. Ofcourse you have probably done a good job but it doesn't really contribute the forum discussion. Implementing a merit system to let people talk about merit, throw merit for that talks, look for merit abusers, get rewarded for that stuff etc. doesnt seem like a great achievement and a significant forum improvement. P.S. Sometimes it feels like I can create a new thread with my own analysis of pros and cons of merit system (there will be too much to let them drown in spam of already existing threads) but this section already got too much merit talks. Most of them are baseless and people woll hardly take serious anything new.
You are probably right, I was rather new when the discussions about the new changes stated. I was still unaware of the whole system here but I saw some flaws /well, at least for me as a newbie/ and decided to give my opinion. ~snip, like this one, just follow the original link~
Back then I was thinking like "hey, I can tell theymos what it can be changed so the forum can do better" and for me at that time he was like, you know, he is The Guy - "hey me and Satoshi were drinking coffee together every morning for more than two yeas or so." /that's how a newbie thinks, I guess/. So I got involved in this pre-merit discussion, It was very interesting for me but I did't had the knowledge to be more helpful /I'm still faaaar from what I want to be, but it's a log way ahead/ so I started coming with ideas of what I, as a newbie, can do to help the others. I saw many people were asking the same questions about the activity and ranking and I made the activity calculator, which I was thinking that should have been done years before me and tried to make it more popular so the newbies can stop asking the same questions all the time. Had some other ideas how to list all the bounties and browse them by different criteria, but by being more familiar with the system here I saw that this was a lost cause. After a few weeks came the Merit system. I was already aware that there's gonna be some changes, but no one knew what will happen /well except theymos/. Then everyone stated discussing how the system had to be adjusted, I was also enthusiastic about it, reading and suggesting. Then I stated collection points from some Legendaries and it was like WOW, I'm just nobody here but hey some Legends do appreciate what I'm trying to do and it's so great/well noob thinking again, I know/. That gave me more enthusiasm to continue and I did. Well, I "grew up" in a way and my perception for the forum did change too. I did't help much for the bitcoin development, it's true. I got some people involved in crypto and help them to open wallets and buy some btc so I can say that I tried to popularize it, tho. I'm trying to do what I can and learn in the mean time. I have family, kid and full time job / plus a "new" old house, which I renovate at the moment so we can move in hopefully in April/ so I'm pretty short in terms of free time, but I'm still attending a free course for blockchain on edx. Hope will improve my understanding of the all the aspects of the blockchain system and be more productive here. Meta is where everything started. If everyone was informed with a PM about the changes, things could have been different. All the sMerit I got, I distributed to newbies and people deserving it. I think I walked a long way to this rank, and the honor to wear an avatar. I'll continue doing what I like, reporting rule-breakers and learn. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FssVKk91.png&t=663&c=EuXwP0V3Q2sD5w) Enough said. Cheers!
