So, if I insert this file using an <img> tag, will I get all these flashy things? I don't seem to understand.

No , I don't think.  (I think)The hacker/s have inject the code into an image and after uploaded this image as avatar.

OK, but how was this “image” run, then?

I've find a great thread here in the forum : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=306878.0

4804  Other / Meta / Re: Can we have a ponzi section added to the forums? on: February 10, 2015, 05:55:42 PM
It seems that the forum will never have a new subforum for the ponzi schemes, maybe because a future users can "hide" it and it would be difficult to determine if a new site is running a ponzi scheme or not. I think the staff work is not to ban the various ponzi schemes, but only ban the spammers.
4805  Other / Meta / Re: Avatar on: February 10, 2015, 05:50:40 PM
The feature was removed due to an exploit involving avatars. Only older users (such as myself) have them.

Where can I see how that exploit worked? I'm interested because I don't want the same happening to me when I develop a web platform.

This is the payload :

Whats the number of confirmations required(on deposit)  to withdraw an amount after deposit ?
on the site it clearly say that:
Quote
0.0001 BTC will be deducted from the amount you type for use as a transaction fee. Withdraws are processed not till all your deposits have 4 confirmations.

Exactly, thanks for the help elephantas1 !
4807  Economy / Lending / Re: 0.30 BTC Loan needed - Collateral inside! on: February 10, 2015, 02:29:50 PM
Hi, I am in need of a 0.30 BTC loan. Payback would be 0.33 BTC in 15-18 days.

Collateral I have to offer: Chemicals or labequipment worth 0.50 BTC.
My BTC adress: 19YKNrkKSzB5Ndkym3hBbqJrtxccSKryht

Post in this thread if interested in giving me a loan. I will send collateral first.

Thank you.

Can you explain better? Which Chemicals or labequipment ? However I don't think them can be considered as valid collateral.
4808  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Poll] Would you feel comfortable with sharing your trust list? on: February 10, 2015, 02:22:31 PM
I've voted yes and as hilariousandco told | you can see "all the various trust lists"  but only if you put your lev. of depth at 4 |
4809  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ponzi Mycoin in China goes bust!~ 500 mil.$ lost. Prepare for a crash! on: February 10, 2015, 02:14:41 PM
Price hasn't changed so I doubt that the 500 million was relaly lost. Huge amount for bitcoin.

I think only the FIAT  (HK$ 3 b = $ 370 mln) was stolen , none of the articles that I've read said they have robbed directly bitcoin.
4810  Other / Politics & Society / Re: UK Government pledges nearly £33m to new Ebola fund on: February 10, 2015, 02:11:44 PM
We cant even feed and house our own country, total joke.  Its probably some scam to launder a few mil to a medical company supplier or something.

Yeah looks like it. This amount is absurd for Ebola fund. Other problems should be a major focus than this.

Yes most probable it is only another joke, the people should start a "revolution" and I'm not joking  Undecided.  "The world is fine the people are fu**ed"- George Carlin
4811  Other / Meta / Re: Mycelium getting its own sub-forum any time soon? on: February 10, 2015, 01:55:52 PM
I also support the idea of a subForum for Mycelium, and maybe also greenAddress  (one day, because I know that a lot of people don't use it but it is very very secure).
4812  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Greece: Greenspan predicts exit from euro inevitable on: February 10, 2015, 12:27:12 PM
At the end what do you think? Will the Greece get out from the Europe this year or not ?

4815  Other / Meta / Re: Just noticed I had negative trust while I've never traded with anyone here on: February 10, 2015, 11:46:16 AM
It's untrusted feedback anyway, no worries.

No, it isn't. I see it as "trusted" feedback (maybe check your trust list).

Maybe you should check your list. It's your problem to trust people who give fake feedbacks.

I've only "DefaultTrust" in my trust list and yes maybe you are right , I should untrust ~Rawted . I'm sorry if I seem "arrogant" I didn't want.

4817  Other / Meta / Re: Just noticed I had negative trust while I've never traded with anyone here on: February 10, 2015, 11:27:27 AM
I deleted someone's off topic post in a self-moderated thread and he gives me a negative trust rating. Isn't that rating for people who exchange goods or something?
I guess people should be allowed to leave that kind of feedback. But that should be marked neutral because you were not scamming anyone. I think neutral is made for this kind of trust rating.
The thing you did were not worth giving negative feedback. You should pm the guy who awarded you this trust and you should ask him to remove it.

I also think the same, instead the personal things should not "interfere" in the trust ratings.

4818  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ponzi Mycoin in China exploded!~ 500 mil.$ lost. Prepare for a crash on: February 10, 2015, 11:23:50 AM
Fonzie can you change the title of thread? mycoin wasn't originally an exchange but a ponzi scheme. Thanks.

Ok, if you think it fits better, no problem  Smiley

Oh thanks, now it is perfect.
4819  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hong Kong's MyCoin Disappears With Up To $387 Million, Reports Claim on: February 10, 2015, 11:21:36 AM
The New York times article about the situation :

||"Hong Kong’s central bank has warned against investing in virtual currencies, amid local media reports that a Bitcoin exchange may have run off with $387 million in client funds in what could be the biggest Bitcoin scandal after last year’s bankruptcy at the Mt. Gox exchange, based in Tokyo."

and

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority said in a statement late Monday that the case “may involve fraud or pyramid schemes,” adding: “Given the highly speculative nature of Bitcoin, we have all along urged the public to exercise extra caution when considering making transactions or investments with Bitcoin.”||
