4841  Economy / Speculation / Re: Global Crypto Bear Market on: June 15, 2017, 08:51:26 AM
Why I see a global crypto bear market coming:

1. Charting: Daily. The daily 20 SMA that has supported this entire uptrend was broken with yesterday's close. The move towards 3k was riddled with weakness that displayed itself in multiple bearish divergences on the daily RSI.
Weekly. On the weekly timeframe, whlie not yet confirmed, it is likely we will both have the first red candle and the first time closing below the upper Bollinger Band.

2. Altcoin and ICO bubble. When there are $150 million ICOs, there is nothing more to say. Looking at Ethereum, it has pierced its 300 low, an entirely new behaviour in its chart highly suggestive that its bubble has popped. We all know Bitcoin was bought to buy into altcoins. When the altcoin hype fades, so does demand for Bitcoin.

3. Psychologically, 3k is a round number and probably such a strong resistance that people will view it as unlikely to reach it again.

excellent analysis.

I think the pump cycle has just been broken even without looking at all the stats and graphs because we have essentially been gotten used to bitcoin and altcoins going up 5-10% a day and calling that a norm. The breaking of this cycle is going to affect traders psychologically, and fueling further dumps in the crypto market.

Altcoins were too crazy to be sustainable as well, as you mentioned. There was no explanable reason why Ethereum had came so close to breaking bitcoin's market cap when it's got so many problems itself.
4842  Economy / Speculation / Re: drop of the value... any reasons? on: June 15, 2017, 08:46:33 AM
Hi,
i'm trying to understand why all crypto and especially BTC is falling dow since 48h? It's because the fear of the segwit to come in several weeks? Is the chinese market trading low?...
I think this is currently the same big falling as the one of the previous 25 may.. it dropped of 33% in 4 days, now we see almost the same loss.. But i can't really know why.
Pierre

All good things have to come to an end, bitcoin prices are no exception.

The pump was a pretty long lasting one with several adjustments along the way, although bitcoin still was able to pull through all of them and keep on going up. It does seem like that the $3k was the final barrier that bitcoin isn't able to break, and when that wasn't able to happen i guess a lot of traders just panicked and sold their bitcoin for quite a cheap price, driving the price down.

I would say it's another correction of price that happens more or less regulary. Many altclooins have dropped also. But it's not the time for panic. In situation like this many users, especialy those unexperienced start to fear they will loose funds and want to sell as soon as possible. Don't fall for this.

Agreed. Maybe it's the final dump, maybe there is going to be more pumps coming. Either way there is no need to worry as long term bitcoin is going up for sure.
4843  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: lets see what C-Cex will say? on: June 15, 2017, 07:25:19 AM
1. Usually if exchanges want to make changes, they have to put a clear notification out in the notice board and give some time for everyone to adjust to the new rules. So just quietly changing the minimum deposit amount doesn't mean that they are void of every responsibility. They need to let the user know, and give them a chance.

2. Why do they even have such a high minimum deposit amount? Doesn't make sense at all. Bittrex have deposit minimums but these are usually less than $1-2. They also let you accumulate with various deposits up to the minimum amount so you can be credited in your account.

3. They said that they would put your ethereum into "commissions", that's just bullshit. Whatever they do they don't need $200 to process a deposit. C-cex is clearly an irresponsible company and a dickhead in general if this turned out to be true.

Waiting for their response on this matter. Don't use c-cex for now until this is resolved.
4844  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where to invest my 20 BTC (lifesavings) on: June 14, 2017, 11:02:28 AM
Hey , I have bought 20.3~ Btc when it was 430USD . Now when price jumped high i would like to invest in something .
I dont want something very risky with high profit ,
I wanna invest in something with 2-2.5% monthly profit .

 For example : If i invest 20 BTC , in one month ill have 20.4 BTC ( 20BTC + 2% = 20.4)

For one who give me idea or help me ill pay some btc for being helpful and good Smiley

 Best regards

You have to make a decision here.

For starters, there is no way that you're going to get 2.5% to 3% monthly FIXED. Simply no way unless you invest in a ponzi which is not only extremely high risk, it'll probably scam you before it even does any payouts.

You have to realise first that 20 BTC is no small sum. Having $50,000 less could mean something huge for most people here and i would assume that you're no different. This is why diversification is important.

I suggest selling 30-40% so that no matter what happens, you're still in profit(since you bought at $400ish), invest 15-20% into trustworthy altcoins and interest projects, 10% in a casino bankroll and the rest just holding it in bitcoin. This way you have a nice hedge no matter what happens, whether bitcoin crashes, altcoin rises, you'll have opportunities everywhere.
4845  Economy / Economics / Re: Housing bubble on: June 14, 2017, 10:55:57 AM
no we don't all know that!
i don't know if you realize this but things are very different in different countries. and you forgot to mention which country you are talking about. for example where i live (which i don't mention it either Wink) the real estate market has been down for at least 6 months with prices falling even.

it usually is an economical thing and is directly related to how developed or underdeveloped the country is. in developing countries the real estate is usually hot and price are rising. some even consider it a good investment. which is why i am going to buy my first house real soon - thanks to bitcoin price rise i have enough money to do it now!

Ah, i see. Well i'm talking about australia in general, especially sydney.

It's crazy because the median house price is 1.15 million AUD and there are 80 towns where the median house price is 2 million AUD+, which is crazy. Compared to US's $200,000 as the median house price in the US.

As we all know it's getting more and more expensive to buy a house, and the rate of growth currently associated with investing in a house is just phenomenal, and obviously too good to not be a bubble. We all know that. However, WHEN will this bubble pop?

More and more houses are being built but the demand for it just continues to go up. And many houses are bought and just left to sit there, not even rented out, fueling the problem further because investors just want a safe and profitable investment.

What do you think the governments can do to avoid this? Put a limit on houses per person? Your opinions?

Housing is not a bubble. Our current situation is extremely different from 2008. In 2008, banks were giving out loans to people who were clearly incapable of paying them back, and then selling bonds full of those loans at the same price as bonds that were full of good loans that were much more likely to be paid back... basically there was massive fraud going on. Furthermore, stocks were more expensive then ps-ratio-wise.

Housing prices will be going down soon, but not because they are a bubble... because interest rates are rising and the incoming waves of potential buyers are knee-deep in student debt. This does not mean housing will crash, but rather it means that prices will slowly decline.

Interesting. Maybe this is country specific, as things are definitely too hot over here in Sydney.
4846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $8 fee? for a $73 transaction? Really what the fuc is going on? on: June 14, 2017, 08:18:30 AM
I don't think that you realize that bitcoin is still quite cheap. For an $8 fee you are getting a decentralized framework that runs smoothly and instantly, fund clearance within minutes, and the other party can spend the funds as soon as you send it. It is particularly useful for sending money overseas.

Go to https://www.westernunion.com/au/en/send-money-internationally.html and see for yourself, a standard transaction at Western Union cost $5, and this is not including forex fees(obviously, WU's rates are not interbank rates, therefore is crappy).

Furthermore, a wire transfer fee of $25 has to be paid for your recipient to receive the amount at the bank. This whilst waiting 1-2 days for processing. If you don't want to pay this, sure. There is a free option of having a cheque delivered to your recipient, although this would take you FIFTEEN DAYS.

If you don't like bitcoin, like Lauda said, don't use it.
4847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very simple but very fundamental question. Please let me know. on: June 14, 2017, 08:00:14 AM
Every bitcoin evangelists mentions,  "The number of bitcoins in existence is not expected to exceed 21 million because of bitcoin protocol."

We know the limit of circulation is the one of the very strong advantages of Bitcoin....
However, what happens if Bitcoin Core members or Bitcoin Operation members agree to modify bitcoin protocol ?
I think, they can easily change the limit as they like upon their own agreement.

Or is that  technically impossible Huh
Let me know.

Thanks

Bitcoin is not "expected" to exceed 21 million. It is a hard limit. It is one of the best advantages currently of using bitcoin and the reason why most people are interested in it apart from its irreversibility and decentralization...

It's a good question. Bitcoin, aka the current version of bitcoin cannot exceed 21 million coins total however if there is a hard fork to allow the creation of more coins than 21 million, then there is a possibility. It will most likely split the community into two and have two separate chains running simultaneously to each other. Anyone can create a fork of bitcoin, it's not just the bitcoin core.

I don't think that most people here would like bitcoin to ever have such an upgrade though, so therefore the fork is likely to not gain any traction and nobody uses it, and the tokens that is on that platform will probably be deemed worthless.

4849  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin price decreasing on: June 14, 2017, 06:47:39 AM

bitcoin price is decreasing.can anyone predict how much it will decrease?

thanks

Nobody can predict exactly how much bitcoin will crash by, because it is so volatile. Someone claiming to be able to do so is just a scammer/confidence trickster probably trying to get you to use their affiliate link on a trading site or trying to offer to you a secret trading course that you need to pay money for.

The BTC/USD index has been pretty stable at the 2700 USD region despite the recent adjustment. Personally i don't think that it will crash further. Even if it does 2500 USD is the floor. Go to coinmarketcap charts and zoom in on the btc/usd pair, you'll see clearly that once the price got near 2500 people starting buying in again. There is no way that bitcoin will go sub $2000 in the medium term. If it does then, perfect time to buy.
4850  Economy / Reputation / Re: primedice.com's best scammer,racist..Ledust(a.k.a VIP ledust on primedice) on: June 14, 2017, 06:41:43 AM
He hasn't really scammed you for anything of monetary value so, it's going to be extremely hard to set up your case against him. He is also seemingly trying to get your channel into a moderator's hands which i don't get. If you created this discord channel then you're supposed to have full control over it, no matter whether nobody uses it or everybody uses it. Why doesn't he just give it back to you and everyone's happy?

It'll be no real use for you to create this thread because it's unlikely that Stunna will read it and take action. Try to take this to the primedice forum if you haven't already(i'm sure you already have) and keep bumping up your thread.

PD doesn't moderate scams, just like bitcointalk, at least when i was on PD which was a long time ago. Maybe now with the forum it'll be better managed but it doubt it will.
4851  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Btc-e possible scam? ($20.000) - wire on: June 14, 2017, 06:15:24 AM
i deposited such a big amount before, this isn't first.
im waiting i hope they will give.

thanks for your advices.

That's extremely weird then, because usually people have trouble with BTC-e on their first big transaction.

Is it possible that you didn't send from your usual bank account and used another bank account instead? Like your friends/family's? I've seen cases where that was the reason funds were not credited to the user.

You should never use an exchange where your only chance of getting in touch with the admin/support is via email or support tickets. They can ignore you all day long. Make sure that they have a physical location, preferably somewhere close to you.

Please post the btc-e bank account receiver details in this thread BTC-E SCAM! Let us organize something against these criminals, so we can get the hole picture of their fraud scheme. Thank you!

Good initiative but i doubt it'll work. The best thing is to prevent people from depositing in the first place, instead of trying to resolve everything after its happened.
4852  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bittrex is a scam website - AVOID!- WITH PROOF!! on: June 14, 2017, 06:12:31 AM
I don't know why they did this to your account, because i've been depositing way more than $1000 and withdrawing way more than that as well on a monthly basis, as well as occasionally storing more than $1k on their exchange. I have never experienced any hiccups with their service, definitely haven't gotten my funds held up once like yours either. They are a legit exchange, also probably the best exchange right now because poloniex has gone scam basically.

Since you already submitted your ID, you should be able to argue with their customer support to get your funds back. They have a good customer support, as long as you did everything right you should expect your BTC back.

If they are selectively scamming, they wouldn't do it on you. They would do it on someone with a balance of 100 BTC+.

If you look onto the scam accusation section of the forum which is where you posted this thread on - you'll see that there are a lot of other people complaining about the same issue. So it's definitely not just you, others are in the same boat too.

Although you're probably telling the truth, we need more info from you. Please follow this scam report format, alongside proof of any communication/deposit.

I think that most of the other cases got resolved eventually but it took a long time. It's not a good idea to deal with BTC-e with bank wire at all, in fact the only place i would trust my funds with is probably localbitcoins while buying with bank wire because so many things can go wrong.

I didn't because i read like this topic and they wrote about banned and i scared but i corrected, thanks.

hello
i sent $20.000 14 days ago and they are not answering my ticket.

i hope they will give. im just waiting.
BTC-E handles millions of dollars on a daily basis. So, I think they are known for slow support.

I know  but
since several days , i'm seeing like this topic, i wasn't writing anyhing but i wrote for other people. (if btc-e will down)

thanks for your answer

First of all, don't be scared to release some information public so that people can discuss it. In fact by releasing this information public you are creating pressure on the company in question, and therefore upping your chances of getting credited in your account.

$20,000 is no small amount though. Did you ever deposited onto their site before this instance or is this your first time depositing? If it is your first time depositing, take this as a lesson learned. Always test out if the deposit works before you deposit such a big amount, and even if it does work, try to split the amounts into smaller increments.

The screenshots suggest to me that they are indeed ignoring your request.

#truongdhnh BTC-e does handle millions of dollars on a daily basis but that doesn't mean they are legit. Just like poloniex they're constantly holding up deposits and withdrawals and i wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

4855  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: btc crash now = TOP buying opportunity ? on: June 13, 2017, 10:06:01 AM
i'm buying a ton of it now

Top buying opportunity? I don't think that it is the absolute best buying opportunity right now. Rather than buying now and having the risk of having the price drop further I'd rather just wait for another correction which will definitely come in the near future and buy in at a lower price point.

This pump is nearly over in my opinion, could go higher still but is indeed running out of fuel at the moment. Traders can only have so much fiat to get into bitcoin with. It's not like they have an infinite amount of bitcoins to play with.

When a major correction comes, it's smart to buy and hold it until the next major pump hits.
4856  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FREEWallet.org SCAM ( Don't use any of their iOS or Android APP) on: June 13, 2017, 09:58:26 AM
Found this on Reddit. No idea if this is the correct category but apparently FreeWallet.org is redirecting everyone's payments to their own personal wallet.

https://etherscan.io/address/0x11b85b4e2fadaebe04a251377aa35b9be3c785f0

So far $8 million stolen.

They also have a Bitcoin, Dash and Monero wallet. Their website seems to be professionally done so it seems many people are affected. If you use this wallet, immediately withdraw any funds.

$8 million? That's no sum to joke about... That will buy the scammer some nice mansions with others money...

They have an ethereum wallet address, and as you said they have other altcoins as well. Is there any sort of stats on the coins which balances can be publicly inspected regarding how much coin have been stolen(I know that coins like XMR cannot be inspected)?

Honestly though, i don't get all the people using this wallet. Not trying to rub salt into the wounds, but when there are much more secure options such as downloading the actual ethereum wallet from the official site, or using myetherwallet which is a client side wallet generator, why would you entrust your coins to a third party?

And ps, i wouldn't be surprised if they claimed to be hacked at all.
4857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where the hell is Satoshi? on: June 13, 2017, 09:07:34 AM
Where the hell is satoshi? Do we desearve to know the truth? What do you think folks?

I thought Craig Wright was Satoshi?  Grin

Lol. That's just a media hoax a long time ago and i'm sure you know that. Probabyl just a bunch of media outlets that are running out of content to write about and decides to interview this random guy and probably tell him what to say, to be honest.

Satoshi might be dead for all we know. Like there is really no point chasing him down - some of his accounts could even be hacked as demonstrated when he posted from a long hiatus "i'm not dorian nakamoto".

Is there really a point in us caring who he is? Does it make the bitcoin protocol better? I think his decision to remain out of bitcoin was a good one, for that if he continued to be involved he would have been accused of centralizing bitcoin just like Vitalik is with Ethereum.
4858  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Indacoin - buy bitcoins & litecoins with a credit card from all over the world on: June 13, 2017, 08:16:40 AM
I can't say that my first experience with this site is very positive at all.

I deposited just $22 or so in payza funds into the Indacoin site about 2-3 weeks ago, waited for 3 days which they promised on their site would be the maximum amount of time that it would take for a payza deposit to be credit.

Although the support was very fast, they told me after around 10 days that i needed to contact payza directly and refund the transaction myself, because of a "technical difficulty". The transaction was showing as completed at my end. I contacted payza and they told me that you cannot reverse a transaction against an exchanger, i told them that and they told me to "contact them again, we can do nothing in this case" or something like that.

It's not even a big amount involved so i'm not sure why they would bother wasting time with me and not just refunding me straightaway... Either way very unprofessional and an unnecessary long wait that could be avoided. And also, when they refunded me they didn't even include the payza fees Tongue
4859  Economy / Speculation / Re: Demise of bitcoin under Eth on: June 13, 2017, 08:08:50 AM
The time has come faster than we all expected. Bitcoin is about to be kicked from the throne by Ethereum.
What is your view on this? Is there any place left for Bitcoin? All functionality is replaced with Erhereum, we don't need bitcoin anymore.
Have you converted your bitcoin to ethereum yet?
There's no time like the present.

It could get close. I was actually panicking a little this morning because of the bitcoin crash and ethereum price rise and thought that this was it for bitcoin. Not gonna lie, i actually wanted to invest a little in Ethereum. But I held onto my coins and 10 hours later bitcoin is on the verge of recovery and ethereum has gone down a bit in price.

this is very likely to be a short term hype in my opinion. Ethereum's price has risen far faster than bitcoin's, which many people are calling a bubble. This hype though could very possibly make ethereum overtake bitcoin's market cap for a short amount of time. Ethereum has its own scaling problems to deal with much like bitcoin.

When the hype settles, everything returns to normal, and bitcoin is still #1.
4860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where the hell is Satoshi? on: June 13, 2017, 08:04:03 AM
why satoshi is hiding? why he dont want fame? he is the creator of the bitcoin right?. is he/she still alive or already dead by now? one thing is for sure he/she is so fucking genius by creating this kind of virtual currency

Not all people want fame for their creations. Satoshi is one of them.

It makes a lot of sense for him to stay anonymous because there are indeed many legal complications that may affect him if his real identity was known to the world, for instance, tax evasion and he'll probably be persecuted for creating a tool that essentially frees people from central banking which was never done before.

As xypos said, if satoshi does not want people to know who he is, he has the right to remain anonymous. It's really illogical for people like us to think that our anonymity is important but others like satoshi's isn't.
