i fkn knew it, all this alt btc versions would cause this...
isnt an announcement due on the 16th jan from the foundation on their plans? (not like people will give a fk) the devs are all making their own versions of btc...btc will become just another alt.

few things, first how much does it cost to mine btc, buying an asic? how much does it cost for ltc asics? how much does it cost for dash masterbatenode?,lol all three cost way more than what it would cost for staking with ether@current prices and they offer users alot less than what eth offers. id say the people moaning about the 1500 have never owned an asic or MN. incase you dont know, almost every pos coin begins with a pow phase, eth is no different, there will be a time period this yr when both pow/pos will be running for eth (hybrid) if you dont understand the benefits pos brings to network security,tx speed (and a few negatives) go here https://blog.ethereum.org/2015/12/28/understanding-serenity-part-2-casper/If you want to learn why things are the way they are with ether , go here https://blog.ethereum.org/author/vitalik-buterin/Now you can sit and moan about the 1500 all you want but as time passes and we get nearer the BTC halving. There is going to be alot of miners leaving the POW coins...eth will be another option for them...the fomo will kick in and most people will be priced out of staking themselves ( just like btc mining today ) and they will end up joining pos mining pools. ETH is going places this yr and if the trade volume stays the way it is just now or gets higher (which it will) then i can see some major exchanges adding it. why do i get the feeling halving is priced in and now btc looking shakey due to all these alt btc versions , fud is creeping in...in a few months the btc we all know and love will be changed, we wont be following nakamotos version.
will it be the new devs vision and they will compete with other btc devs until one of the has the majority?

This makes me feel sorry I didn't max my short, maybe I'll get another chance on the rebound tomorrow morning...  Do you remember Jan.14.2015? I don't understand the relevance, but I do remember, I closed my short at 178.7$, not optimal... shrug... Well, as a permabull my little worry is that we had a finex crash both in aug 2014 and aug 2015. So, since Bitcoin is mostly for speculation atm, there might be unease in the market about jan 2016. An unease that someone easily could take advantage of. I seriously doubt that we'll see anything like a 50% drop, but 10-15% shouldn't be impossible. yea, i had the same feeling for past week or two, lucky i hedged a bit... |

The furor on reddit over whether Peter Todd has broken laws with his double spend through RBF, and the calls for Coinbase to pursue a legal case against him are hilarious. Which is the better approach for a cutting edge digital currency - - Fraud (double spend) protected by the existing legal structure (no different from laws trying to prevent various forms of credit card fraud, or)
- Accepting that zero-conf transactions on main bitcoin layer have risk, and working on technical workarounds to truly solve that issue for people who want to accept zero-conf without risk

I own eth but what does proof of stake mean?  ill pm u a few links on pos, or just google and learn...which is what you should be doing if you have invested in a coin. |

1st coin ive been buying for my basket...ETH, for many reasons, the contracts, IOT is here..samsung fridge and many more household devices going on the web. Then the ETH pos stage in sep. With btc mining going 1/2 (fud time) it could become too centralised ( this could affect most pow coins ) and miners/users will look to get coins another way...this could b the year pos goes mainstream.
