- PCI_E1 supports up to PCIE x16 speed (when PCI_E3 is empty) - PCI_E2 supports up to PCIE x1 speed - PCI_E3 supports up to PCIE x8 speed - PCI_E4 supports up to PCIE x1 speed - PCI_E5 supports up to PCIE x16 speed (when PCI_E7 is empty) - PCI_E6 supports up to PCIE x1 speed - PCI_E7 supports up to PCIE x8 speed - PCI_E8 supports up to PCIE x1 speed - If you intend to install two expansion cards, it is recommended to install them into PCI_E1 & PCI_E5 slots. Dreams, crushed. Bitcoining only needs PCIe x1. so why pay for a expensive motherboard, when you can get a cheaper one, that has the same amount of pcie x1 slots? The PHYSICAL slots need to be x16. The actual SPEEDS of the I/O of the slot only needs to be PCIe x1. nope, just get 1x to 16x extender, or cut the end off.

One of the problems with joining a pool is trusting the operator, so he/she doesn't "skim" your hard earned coins. Bitcoinpool tries to solve this problem by making statistics of every user public. While that's better than other pools, it's not enough. The operator can still make fake users, and inflate their share count.
A solution to this problem would be to publicly show EVERY share that is submitted by a user, and its corresponding getwork. This way, if someone wants to inflate his/her share count, they will actually need to do work.
Comments? Problems with this proposal? Hopefully, we can get all the major pool owners to implement in this, unless there are any problems.

what's the point of x16 pcie? just get a board with lots of 1x pcie slots :p (hint: mining does not use a lot of bandwidth)

Convery, how did you manage to be able to adjust the voltage?
some cards, namely reference ones, can adjust voltage. :p

BitcoinPool is up and functioning, accepting new users and working wonderfully.
The epitome of class! better than having a pool that has >50% of the hashing power.

Where does the reputation come from anyway, I can't seem to find any ratings buttons to press?
you need 250+ posts to give reputation.

Selling pirated materials? that's very low.
I don't find it evil to sell pirated works. You're taking someone's work (scene groups), and selling it for a profit. how is that not low? also, yay, first -1 is (i think) from moderator.

take your 1x pcie slot, and cut off the end of it, so it will fit a x16 card. and then you're ready to go!

on average, 6 blocks are generated per hour. assuming the transaction gets into the next available block, it will take 60 min to get 6 confirmations. However, many businesses are ok with 1 confirmations. If there are tons of transactions, your transaction may be delayed. check http://www.bitcoincharts.com/bitcoin/ for the current transaction count.

Why not just run the store on testnet while testing it?
I am testing the interface to mybitcoin.com mostly. No option that I know of for testnet. can you confirm that this is still available?

I'm skeptical of this happening. Right now it's easy to upgrade while the community is small and people download their client from one source.
But once everybody is running different flavours of Bitcoin, network-wide upgrades are not a solution.
Take a look at ipv4 and ipv6 today. The internet runs slower, less secure and is running out of addresses but nobody upgrades. Eventhough there's been many years to enable ipv6 and the running out of ipv4 addresses was well predicted in advance.
that's because ipv6 required an hardware upgrade.
