4981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QAU] QUANTUM PROJECT - Connecting markets on: May 13, 2017, 01:47:01 AM

This investment is beyond my expectations!
In every ICO there's always a surprise at the end of 1-2 days and I think it will exceed 2 million dollars, I hope Quantum is a good pioneer for all other ico. My estimation of this amount is enough to run the project further and doesn't require any other bounty.

I think that it has surprised everyone. Especially with the surging bitcoin price it seemed unlikely for any project in fact to get over 500 bitcoins raised let alone 1k and counting bitcoins raised in total.

Still a few days left in the ICO, the investors still have a chance to get in if they want to.

Don't miss out on this excellent opportunity!
4982  Economy / Speculation / Re: To the moon! on: May 13, 2017, 01:07:06 AM
I think it's already landed a few days ago and right now the rocket's running out of fuel, needs to go back to earth to get it refueled, and obviously that will take some time to recover...  Sad Angry Angry Angry

It just seems like a bubble right now, I know i could be wrong but honestly i just have this gut feeling...

Price went down $100 yesterday, i mean i'm all with bitcoin going up but it doesn't seem that likely right now. Even if it does go up, it'll probably be max. $2k, not much of a rise.
4983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One of many reasons why I love bitcoin on: May 10, 2017, 08:02:28 AM
this is one of the many transactions that I received, this was from some small exchange that I was trading there for fun and to learn more about how to use API in my bot and I cashed out all my balance worth $7.48.

and this is my cold storage, which has been taking deposits ever since 2014 Cool:

Yes indeed.

It basically offers you a way to store your wealth over the long run even if you didn't have access to bank accounts like a lot of people in 3rd world countries. Also it is an investment vehicle that can take you a long way.

I'm just really really pissed at myself for not buying any bitcoin when the price was just 200 USD on a daily basis and basically was stable at that level. Wish I could go back in time and buy a ton of bitcoins at cheap prices.
4984  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex.com is a scam on: May 10, 2017, 07:42:49 AM
Google Poloniex lawsuit. Tons of insider trading, bots, other unfair practices. They're robbing us blind. Remember there are no regulations on these exchanges, so ignore this warning at your own risk.

Insider trading is definitely going to be a big problem with poloniex and I do think that at least some of their employees have at least taken advantage because they are the ones that gets notified, whether they have a bad intent or not, which coins will be listed and which ones will be delisted soon, because they are the ones carrying out the actual procedure.

And obviously when poloniex lists a coin, the coin absolutely skyrockets. When it is delisted, then they go down in value as if the developer suddenly died. They just have a lot of influence over the altcoin market in general.

Guys, check your Polo accounts now. My huge 3-day-old FLDC deposit is finally posting.

Great Smiley
4985  Economy / Speculation / Re: What keeps Bitcoin price stable? on: May 10, 2017, 07:28:54 AM
Price rising =  rumours + good news
Price going down =  bad news + panic selling + whales cashing out

But what factors keep Bitcoin price stable?

Well, if there is a balance of sellers and buyers.

I think that healthy economic activity and a low level of speculation is what makes bitcoin prices stable. For example if a merchant can start accepting bitcoin as it is right now instead of using a Bitpay API and converting that bitcoin instantly into USD as soon as he receive it, then bitcoin is definitely going to be more stable. We have users doing that but we need big corporates doing that as well.
4986  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning with BTCs? on: May 10, 2017, 07:08:45 AM
Hello, I have about 3 BTCs that I would like to earn a little bit off of...I tried BTCjam and most lenders didnt pay back, so I made negative there..

I dont know trading so I dont know how that would be... any other ideas? Smiley

Definitely investing in casinos. I mean if you are a bitcoin user then you have probably at least some experience with bitcoin denominated casinos. And obviously they are risky, but if you invest in the house then you are pretty much guaranteed to win in the long run, just like you are pretty much guaranteed to lose in the long run if you decided to gamble.

BTCJam recently became dysfunctional as well so... Don't use.
4987  Economy / Speculation / Re: sub 1000 gone forever on: May 10, 2017, 06:34:11 AM
buyers will come in at 1100-1200 on next dip.  you will never again get the chance to buy a bitcoin for under 1k.

Yeah definitely. I'm waiting for the dump right now and going to buy as much as I can. Although this does resemble a bubble at this stage of the pump i've still got 20-30% of my crypto holdings in bitcoin because i really don't want to miss out on the next pump if there happened to be another one.

I do think that 1,000 is something that we can all agree on being the absolute floor right now. Doubt that it'll drop under 1000 for a long time, probably not in 1 year at least. And if nothing bad happens to bitcoin it'll probably be never broken.
4988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM on: May 10, 2017, 06:20:24 AM
I just tried a new Bitcoin atm that was installed about 5 min from my house.  I purchased .10 BTC as a test and when I got the receipt after the transaction it had the current price of BTC at 1,300 a coin and it was less then 1,100?  What gives?

Well you are very very lucky because most of the world don't have access to a bitcoin ATM this close to them. I mean 5 minutes from your house is just ridiculously easy to get bitcoins, it's probably eaiser than purchasing online even with a credit card or with your paypal balance to be completely honest because you'd need to go through all the verification etc.

The rates can be worse than actual big exchanges but i find them a lot better than localbitcoins sellers...
4989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much have you lost / win on Bitcoin dice ? on: May 08, 2017, 06:36:41 AM
How much have you lost / win on Bitcoin dice ?
and where ?

Well I'm around 5 bitcoins in total in the negative right now for bitcoin dice although i have to say I am very fortunate as I lost the majority of these 5 bitcoins when the price of bitcoin was still relatively low.

Gambling is a real problem with bitcoin because you are able to send large amounts of coins anonymously across the globe no matter where the casino/bookmaker you are playing at is located. And it becomes pretty damn tempting to do it over and over, trust me i've seen people lose thousands of dollars on one single bet or in one single session. You don't want to end of like these compulsive gamblers. Don't gamble what you can't afford to lose.
4990  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] $23 PP [W] 0.01462163 on: May 07, 2017, 01:19:36 AM
Got it (though it hasn't confirmed yet).  I sent $23.85 via PayPal F&F.  Let me know if all is good, and thank you!

Got it, however you sent it as AUD? Wanted USD instead of AUD... Not sure if paypal did this automatically but usually when i receive AUD payments I get it as USD.

Would you mind if i refunded the payment and you sent it again as USD instead of AUD? Thanks
That's odd--as far as I saw, it only gave me the option to send AUD and I put it in as USD.  And there was a friggin' fee for doing this as well.  Sad
I think it did the conversion automatically--that's definitely never happened to me before.

Sure, send it back and I'll see about changing it.

Just refunded the payment.

Let me know when you send the USD. I do live in Australia but there should be an option to send USD. Also my primary currency is USD so not sure what was wrong with pp.

EDIT: got it, thanks a lot. Will leave feedback, next time you got pp to trade don't hesitate to contact me.

As stated in title.  I need exactly 0.01462163, and I'm paying $23 via F&F or however you like.

If you're interested, please post in this thread rather than by PM.  I will send first to trusted Hero or Legendary members at my discretion.  All others must send first.

Everyone here should be aware that PayPal is the absolute worst way to do bitcoin transactions, but it's all I have.  Don't spam this thread with warnings about PayPal.  It's a risky method because of chargebacks.

Since you asked to post on this thread, i will although I have already sent you a PM as well.

I can do this if you can cover the tx fee of 0.0005 BTC by either deducting that amount from the bitcoin amount or by paying extra on the Paypal side(Around 0.85 USD).

Let me know please, i have btc ready to go.
That's fine, but I need exactly the amount I asked for.  I will give you $23.78 $23.85 if that works for you.

Sure, no problems.

So you want me to send it to the address that you stated above? I'm fine with sending first.
That would be great, and PM me your PayPal email.

Sent via txid https://blockchain.info/tx/c21ba490f7aeaf1835a505dc7e378bbb58b7f03b1e52aedc70400744fb40544a

I'll PM you my Paypal right now, but make sure the send is F&F.

Thanks!

4996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a source of income? on: May 06, 2017, 10:14:38 PM
for me as a newbie of bitcoin i would not make as bitcoin as a source of income because we don't know when the value of bitcoin going up and down.
It I think recommended for me if bitcoin used as sideline or extra source of income to pay the bill like electricity and water bill.

Well yeah, if you were just earning bitcoins as a part time job then there shouldn't be a problem.

However if you aren't that experienced with bitcoin or you are concerned about bitcoin being too volatile, then sell your bitcoins as soon as you get them. Right now I'd say that earning some bitcoins either from sig campaigns or freelancing is a great idea because of the high bitcoin price right now.

Don't depend on it as a regular source of income.... Just "fun money", for partying etc.
4997  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction - $1500 in 30 days - What do you think? on: May 06, 2017, 01:07:24 AM
The prices currently are doing too good; it is making hope for those who have expectations from the BTC. The prices will continue to rise with a least chance of coming down in the end of May. The BTC have the potential to grow more in the current month and even afterwards and I guess before end of this month we may have $2000 levels tested. The people who are holding the BTC are the lucky ones  Cheesy
We will see how far bitcoin could reach before correction happen, after 15th May when ETF review by SEC done and another rejection as the result may cause panic sell and bitcoin price fall down below $1200 again but how if ETF get approval? $2000 will be achieved within this month I think.

I think so. The panic sell factor is probably teh single most important factor that you can take into consideration. If the ETF gets rejected again there is definitely a chance that people are going to panic and sell their bitcoins but I don't think there is a high probability of that happening because we're pretty much used to getting bitcoin rejected by the ETF.

The first Winklevoss twins ETF was the most hyped, whilst afterwards, nobody gave a damn.

Still though, I think adjustment in price is coming soon.
4998  Economy / Economics / Re: how i start a bussines with BTC on: May 06, 2017, 12:51:05 AM
Hi guys Smiley i want to ask you and if you have personal experiences on how i can start a bussines using BTC?

The most common way seems to be first getting funding via crowdfunding, either by starting an ICO if you are looking to develop a new altcoin, or going onto Bitbond etc. to take out a P2P loan from people across the world.

However, this said, you always have to have a good idea in mind of your project first before you can actually take out a loan. Loans don't come easily, you'll definitely need to reveal your personal details to people so they feel like they're dealing with a legit person instead of another Mr. Anon who is a wannabe admin of another dice site.

Advertising is also important, signature campaigns usually are the most efficient way to get the job done.
4999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Sent ETH to Yobit ETC wallet by mistake on: May 06, 2017, 12:30:40 AM
Hi Forum,

A mistake led me to sending ETH to Yobit's ETC wallet address.  Has this happened to anyone before?

Here are a few things that struck me as odd about Yobit.

1. I searched ETH in the wallet search bar, but ETC still showed up.  I realize ETC's full name is Ethereum Classic, but most exchanges will only show Ethereum when you search for ETH

2.  You need one BTC satoshi in your account to participate in the chat box.

3. I reached out to support and it took nearly a week to get a response.  I hadn't realized until after their response that I sent ETH to an ETC wallet.  Instead of offering suggestions to resolve the issue, they sent a response saying I had sent ETH to an ETC wallet and that's why my funds are not showing.  They closed the ticket.

I reached out to Exodus support which is where I sent my ETH from and they said that the exchange has full control of those ETH funds and that it would be possible for them to recover and refund them for me.

I have sent a follow-up to Yobit support.  I don't plan to use their exchange anymore after this experience.  Does anyone have any suggestions or advice for how to deal with them in trying to get back my ETH?  I sent 7 ETH so it's about $700 worth of ETH as I write this.

Oh, and I know I screwed up. I accept responsibility for that. I'm just kinda fascinated actually that they operate the way they do.

Thanks!

Hen

Well you are a lucky bastard because usually what happens with Yobit is that you do something by mistake, you contact their support and they say nothing in return whilst new coins are getting listed every single day(shitcoins usually).

I guess it's because their search mechanism searches a part of the name of the coin, they're not the only ones that do it either - if you search up "ETH" on poloniex you'll get Tether, Ethereum classic and Ethereum.

Just take this as a lesson, don't do it again in future, you might not get a refund.
5000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why is Etherium going up? on: May 06, 2017, 12:09:36 AM

Etherium went up a lot like a rocket.

What's the reason?

If so, does it collapse?

Well, I guess people want to diversify their earnings into bitcoin and Ethereum because they don't want to hold only bitcoin. If bitcoin hard forks some people would just like to quit bitcoin altogether, and Ethereum seems like the best bet for the leading altcoin right now. Ethereum also has better scalability atm than bitcoin so, i guess people like that. And less transaction fees.

Some day, someone will create a premined shitcoin called "Etherium" and sell it on yobit to newbies who didn't bother reading Ethereums name coreectly.

Shhh.... Don't say that, people actually do that sort of thing!!!
