501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How To Mine ZenCash on Windows on: September 14, 2017, 02:33:51 AM
That zhash.pro pool is pretty cool.  Not many miners there right now since it is brand new, but he's doing 0% for life for those who join early.
502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Burstmining with pool or solo? on: September 13, 2017, 12:54:42 AM
I got a decent amount of space I'm using for solo mining.  How long it takes to forge a block solo mining varies.  Here's what I have done so far this month:

So 14 blocks in 12 days, or just under 1.2 blocks a day.  Current payout about $18 per block, so about $21 / day or roughly the same as you can make mining with 6x 1080Ti cards, give or take.
503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash Miner - easy-to-use best-profit multi-device cryptocurrency miner on: September 13, 2017, 12:10:51 AM
The purpose of the benchmark is to find out what hashrate your hardware is capable of with each algorithm in order for the auto profit switching feature to function. Without benchmarking the hardware that feature can't function since it has no data to base it's calculations off of.
Yeah, but if I have 8 identical cards, NH insists in running the benchmark on each of the individually.  I wonder why there is no option to tell it to only run the benchmark in the 1st card.  I wonder if it could have anything to do with the fact that when you benchmark, all the hash goes to an internal NH address and not the one you have defined in the client...

Thanks scsi, I'll for sure go that route then and hope it will just work.

I have bad experience using M2 adapters - tried to power them and it basically smoked and burnt the 4-pin adapter that was provided - that 4-pin molex adapter is of very low quality.

It wasn't by chance this model was it?

https://minerparts.com/product/pcie-4x-to-ngff-m-2-adapter-with-4-pin-power-cable/

I got a couple of those on order to use with Asus PRIME Z270-A (7 PCIe slots) boards, so that I can run 8x 1080Tis per rig.

If the issue is just the 4-pin adapter provided, perhaps I can custom solder (been swinging an iron for 20+ years) my own cable (each rig is going to be powered by a Delta 2400W PSU).  So I'd take one of the 32 6 pin to 6+2 pin cables that comes with the REV2-Ultimate kits, and replace the 6+2 pin connector with a 4 pin floppy connector, no?

I like to keep power at 75% or less, but depending on your power cost, perhaps efficiency is less a concern for you than Sol?  Also, I have found that even when setting a power limit of 75%, sometimes that actual power usage is quite a bit higher, especially with 1080Ti's with dual 8-pin connectors.  My Zotac Arcticstorm is a power hog.  I have mine set at 68% but it actually consumes 73%.

But it looks like you have already played around with your settings quite a bit.  One question, did you unlock temp limit from power limit?
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: September 10, 2017, 12:06:07 PM
Glad you got it working!  Are you running Afterburner?  If so, what are your settings for each card?

Are you using risers?  That one 1060 is running a little hot and I would think you should be able to get better efficiency out of your cards than that.  Thanks for showing that interesting mix of cards in one rig.  On the surface it looks like the 1060 3GB card is perhaps the least desirable card to use with this miner.
509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: September 10, 2017, 11:54:56 AM
how to get these statistics (website?) ? is it an extra application or buildin in ewbf ?

Build in.  Just add this to your .bat file:

--api 10.0.1.201:42000

You will want to change the IP to that of your machine, or just use 127.0.0.1:42000 if you only want to be able to point a browser to it from your local miner.  I like using the actual IP of the rig so that I can access the stats from any machine on my LAN.

also what is your voltage at?

Did I mention I picked this particular EVGA 1070 ACX 3.0 Superclocked (08G-P4-5173-KR) up from eBay a couple of weeks ago for $390 shipped?  Smiley

What are your settings for the EVGA 1070 OC?

Wouldn't mind a 10 watt drop per card with about the same sols....

PL 75%
Core +150
Mem +700
513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Minergate vs Nicehash on: September 09, 2017, 09:20:25 AM
Nicehash seems to be getting a bad rep around here in general.  A lot of folks are stating that you are effectively paying 20% in fees vs. 2-3% if mining altcoins directly.

I have been using NiceHash Legacy since it came out and was doing about $20/day on a 6x 1080Ti rig.

A couple of weeks ago I switched to EWBF Zcash miner on that rig using nanopool, mining Zcash to my Bittrex wallet.  Earnings are about the same, maybe with a slight edge to Nicehash actually.

Never used Minergate, but given how close NiceHash is to mining altcoins directly, even with the overhead of them managing the "hash power rental allocations", it does very well from what I can tell.
514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: if i have 16gb System Ram, do i still need 16gb pagefile on: September 09, 2017, 08:25:53 AM
Add up all the mem on your GPUs and make sure your virtual mem (ram+pagefile) is bigger.

Not sure I agree with that.  I have a rig with 6x 1080Ti.  So that's 6 x 11GB = 66GB.

That machine has 16GB of RAM and 16GB of virtual mem, for a total of 32GB.

Why would you want to have as much ram+pagefile as your have GPU ram?  I mean, it's not like all the data in GPU ram needs to be copied into your CPU memory space...
515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1070, what is your hashrate? on: September 08, 2017, 04:27:35 PM
My 1070 FE can only do 422 sol/s with PL 75, Core + 125, Mem +700.  Temp is steady at 66.

My EVGA Superclock does 446 sol/s with PL 75, Core + 150, Mem +700.  Temp is steady at 56.

Both are running EWBF 0.3.4 miner  Latest drivers.
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: September 06, 2017, 11:46:45 PM
I got 3 rigs going and figured I'd share my Sol rates.

Rig 1 - 6x EVGA 1080Ti OC Gamer's Black Edition
Rig 2 - 1x Zotac 1080Ti ArticStorm (water cooled) 1x EVGA 1070 Overclocked edition
Rig 3 - 1x Nvidia 1070 FE

517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1060, what is your hashrate? on: September 06, 2017, 11:08:25 PM
NewEgg has the Zotac 6GB 1060 AMP! on sale for $275.  Do those have the "good" memory?
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: September 06, 2017, 03:21:59 AM
I just recieved mine today also. Any one interested for $5k?
Maybe, if you throw in a 6x1080Ti rig...  Seriously, if you can ship in 2 days to zip 22920 I might consider paying $3k.

@ crazydane -

where are you located?
I'm in Virginia USA (but born and raised in Denmark, that land of the most expensive electricity)

I'm mining Burst with just under 0.3 PB...

At today's price, seems to generate USD450 in gross profits. Are you mining Burst for ROI? Or for other reasons?
I had the equipment and most of the drives already.  It was a backup system, so I figured I might as well put it to use.  I forge a block every 16 hours on average, so about 46 per month which works out to about 73,000 Burst at the current rate of 1,577 per block.  So about $876 @ $0.012.  If Burst ever got up around $1, life would be good!

I started mining at the beginning of July, and it has taken its toll on my power bill.  Before, I was actually generating more power from my solar that I consumed, so I was building a "bank" of kWh with the POCO (doing net metering with them).

After I started mining, not so much...

The 6 x 1080Ti rig:

I have since upgraded the PSU to the EVGA 1600W P2 and am now running the cards at 71% power (had to stay at 62% with the 1200W PSU to keep at the 80% consumption level).

I'm well under 80% of 1600W right now running at 71%:

I have another rig with a water cooled Zotac 1080Ti and an EVGA 1070.  3rd rig has a single 1070FE in it.  I plan to build a 2nd rig with 8 1070's in it and a 3rd with 6 more 1080Tis and then pause there for a bit and wait for the GTX 2xxx series to come out.
