This thread is hilarious. You read the first post where OP is educating people on financial terms... then you jump to page 4 and people are suggesting meds to treat medical conditions lol. The internet in a nutshell.
Lol ... I don't know another place I could go and have this much fun

Current coins price will not get you 10 months ROI. It takes more than that to make ROI unless the price of the coins pumped up again.
Who cares? Hold for years and sell at the correct time. You'll either be very happy or you'll lose all of your money. Easy.

I used ROI many times ... So call me dumb. Don't care. ROI ROI ROI ROI ROI.
God, I want to say "ROI" but I don't want to be called dumb. I must say "CR". but when I said "CR" it isn't happy for me, I want to say ROI ROI ROI God, please forgive me Or you could just sell me your gpu's cheap and you won't have to worry about it.

No way.
It only hit $1400 because after BTC surged end of 2017, whales then pumped ETH. Its not going anywhere close to that until BTC is way up. I do think ETH will hit $1400 again, but not in the near future. We have to wait for BTC to finish dumping, then go up 5k+ or so without a drought to see ETH pumped again.
BTC topped out on Dec 18th. Check ETH what started to happen at that exact moment.
Crypto is dead in 2018 times to face it It might get pumped towards the end of the year again But do you really want to spend $8000 on a mining rig so each 1080ti can make $1 a day? I have more than one 6gpu 1080ti rigs and I didn't spend half that on the entire rig ... Lol. Fuck no I would never spend 8K on a 1080ti mining rig.

funny i think eth will have a huge pump to $1500 very soon.
That would be great. 4X on ETH for me!

My first comment. Listen to Phillip. He know's what he is talking about.
I wouldn't have felt comfortable re-arranging my breaker box, installing 30A breakers, running the wiring, and installing the outlets myself. I have a friend who is an electrician, so I paid him to do it. I had two 30A outlets installed in my mining room. They were short runs, so only ended up having to get 50' of romex. For two outlets, the materials shouldn't cost more than $200 or so. The L6 recepticals are around 20-25 each. 50ft of 10-3 romex was $75. The 30A breakers he already had and didn't charge me any extra for. There are some other odds and ends that you'll need.
I ended up paying him $100 for the labor and around $150-$175 for the materials.
Nice price for that amount of work you have a good friend I know. He saved me a lot of money. I got quotes from a few different small to mid sized companies who employ electricians that were willing to do the job. Problem was that every quote that I got was triple what I paid my friend. My friends company only does large industrial jobs, but he told me the same thing. Finding someone who does that all day long and is willing to do side work is way better than the alternatives.

Crypto will not die. Mining will not die But all who think they will get rich soon, now understand what mining and crypto really is. It's a long game, not a getrichquick game.
And maxing out CreditCards is so USA, in Europe we don't use them, only on vacations to the USA hahaha
True that! I honestly don't know if you can deduct credit interest on your taxes, but either way ... People need to stop spending fiat that does not belong to them. Crypto or anything else, I'm not into renting money for any purpose.

Crypto in general is dead for at least the next 4 years
To many people lost money to many taxes to many regulations
I'm glad I did not get many gpus it's just not worth it
I'm sure there is more then one on here who maxed out their credit cards to buy a bunch of video cards
One of these days you'll grow up. Lol. No one has or ever will pay taxes on a loss in crypto or anything else. If memory serves me correct, you overpaid for the gpu(s) that you do have. That was your mistake buddy. If you care about daily cash out to fiat profit, that is your mistake buddy.

Yeah it's crazy. I think that's about what I'm going to ask for 1070ti's that are only a few months old.
|
|

I really do expect craigslist to get flooded with some GPUs as small time startups realize that they can't deal with the heat these things generate in the summer.
I don't unless they just give up, because they don't know how to handle the heat.
|
|
|
Let's hope for it, the forecast is difficult to do because bitcoin is experiencing strong price fluctuations
And when hasn't this been the case? Lol.
|
|
|
My local craigslist isn't too much different than it has been over the past couple of months. Same dude trying to sell a 1070ti for $800. There are a couple of 1080ti's that are priced within reason at the moment. I may throw up my Vega 56 rig and see what I can get. Currently there is a 5gpu Vega 64 rig on there for $6500. That's pretty laughable to me. I'm certainly going to be looking to sell my 1070ti's in the near future, but I'd rather not sell the entire rigs, and I'd prefer to do it on craigslist, so I can avoid giving eBay and Paypal 10% or whatever it is now.

Using words in a way that most people understand them is dumb huh? Yes. Especially if you know better. You must have so many friends.
If you are happy being educated about a word or a phrase, but think you have to use it incorrectly to "fit in"... then be my guest... take all the friends. Just know that some of them are snickering behind your back because you say dumb things. They still like you, it's just that pickleburgler says dumb things on purpose sometimes. Another one that really gets me going... in the past few years in America, people have gotten into a habit of saying "literally" when it doesn't apply, as a way to bring emphasis. You can't "literally shoot a basketball". I'm not sure why everyone is aruging with you, but it's comical. Lol ... Especially those who know the difference and still use it incorrectly.

gpu mining will die.
Nowadays everything in cryptocurrency world is a total disaster, a total mess, a total Fuck.
I see more and more people accepting the fate of gpu mining to die in 2018 and the year is just starting and about your summary, tell that to bitmain cause that is one company is trying to kill everything that we know about decentralization. All that Jihan cares about is making money. China as a whole doesn't care about decentralization. Exactly the opposite, in my opinion.
|
|
|
As long as you treat as an investment then will always be a return of investment. I do not treat mining as an investment, I treat as dumbestment hehe cause buying and sell coins gives you many times more money.
Yes yes, we've all heard your opinion of mining over and over and over and over again ... Lol.

If I give someone a job interview and they don't know the terminology or meaning of the words they are saying, then they are not going to get the job.
Job interview > Real life > Needed for income (as in "money to pay for food, shelter, electricity, family, ...") > VERY IMPORTANT for most of us.. Bitcoin Forum > Online life > Just for fun > Most of us can still have a decent life without it.. You guys know what I mean. We can all agree with that. And personally, I don't care what anyone else does. I just don't feel the need to improperly use terminology on purpose for no reason at all ... Lol.

I hope I brought a little fun back to this forum today.
You made BitBustah back to smile after failed in an exam today, you did good. Lol

Of course everyone knows what they mean. I just don't like getting into the habit of sounding like I don't know what I'm talking about, especially if I'm in front of people that I may hope to do business with in the future.
If you are so superficial that you won't do business with people because they -accidently or purposefully- use wrong words.... You might lose more than you gain. So superficial. I never said I was. Lol. Basically I care whether or not I sound like I know what I'm talking about.
