We need a strong community support against bitmain and ASICs in general.

They became so greedy and aggressive, they even want to have our 1$/day profits now. If we don't fight back as a community, not just mining we are going to lose but everything.

Don't buy ASICs. Let bitmain mine all the bitcoins. Let them be the biggest pool. Buying ASICs is not a bit different than letting them mine all the coins. They steal from us anyway.

Hopefully the community will see the danger they possess in time, and will find a way to kick them out.

Amen. Couple repetitions of a new asic production for coins that immediately switch algos and turn the asics to bricks will teach people not buy them real quick.

Didn't samsung get a contract for building ASIC?

https://techcrunch.com/2018/01/31/samsung-confirms-asic-chips/

They may bring out some ASIC miners for $100 that blow away antminer and would change everything.

But GPU won't die soon. There will always be something to mine as someone said.

If samsung got into the game all bets are off, they have enough respurces to bury anything they want to bury

Crypto in general is dead for at least the next 4 years

To many people lost money to many taxes to many regulations

I'm glad I did not get many gpus it's just not worth it

I'm sure there is more then one on here who maxed out their credit cards to buy a bunch of video cards

Crypto will not die. Mining will not die
But all who think they will get rich soon, now understand what mining and crypto really is.
It's a long game, not a getrichquick game.

And maxing out CreditCards is so USA, in Europe we don't use them, only on vacations to the USA hahaha

Dude certainly. Gpu mining is such a big investments in hardware besides of its cost of for the environment It's just unavailable. CPU mining will thrive. That's why I mine Zoin with my desktop pc. The coin presents a really promising future just as CPU mining.

One of these days you'll grow up.  Lol.  No one has or ever will pay taxes on a loss in crypto or anything else.  If memory serves me correct, you overpaid for the gpu(s) that you do have.  That was your mistake buddy.  If you care about daily cash out to fiat profit, that is your mistake buddy.

Ok, I want you to walk back in there and very calmly, very politely tell the risk assessors to fuck off! -Mark Baum

True that!  I honestly don't know if you can deduct credit interest on your taxes, but either way ... People need to stop spending fiat that does not belong to them.  Crypto or anything else, I'm not into renting money for any purpose.

lol using credit account is risky
should regard GPU miner as a long-term way to buy coins cheaper than the market (cuz we only pay for the rig and electricity

For some it isn't such a big investment, since my rigs are paid they only make money.
Even now, with a price of $ 0.35 / watt.
But I hope for you, that Zoin will explode to the moon, that's what's mining about in my opinion.
You commit to a coin that you think will make it.

So, good luck with that, on the point of CPU mining, I don't agree, CPU mining will not be the future, it's allready in the past for years.
The days of mining BC with a Raspberry Pi or simple PC are gone, just like the days that a 1080 ti got $ 20 a day.
But still, there will be profit to make in 2018. Just HODL  Grin

GPU mining will die. For some time.

Coin prices falling off of a cliff and difficulty still goes up.  Grin Imagine what happens when prices go up Roll Eyes:
Difficulty goes ballistic and profits will not increase. As long you have no free electricity you will go red and
it will be a long lasting drought. Not until the big asic farms are giving up there will be gpu revival. So
let's hope BTC hits triple digits for a year or so, crypto is declared dead and the hype has vanished,
then we can dust our gpus.  Cheesy

I dont think it will be happen in 2018 but i believe in near future especially for bitcoin mining that already touching the total of bitcoin ever made, 21 million bitcoin. For other coins, i still believe there is still far for stoping the mining while new coins continuesly created.

Gpu Mining is for kids . I mean your competing with gamers that will mine and get free electricity from parents. Gpu is dead. Asic is big boy stuff more serious. Not everyone is willing to compete at that high level of pre order ahead of time, have it ship from China and deal with the heat and loud noise it generates. Plus more asic buyer means more gpu for kids.

Gpu at $1 dollar a day is pathetic. Get an asic and grow some

HAHAHAHA.  Funniest thing I've read all day  Grin Cheesy Grin Cheesy

Funniest and dummmbestttt.

by the way eth profitability is all time low 2018, right now most miners around the world is just getting $0.40 per card.

Make it more realistic for people mining ETH.

You have 100 1070's, in a data center colo, paying .05 kilowatt.

https://whattomine.com/coins/151-eth-ethash?utf8=%E2%9C%93&hr=3000.0&p=130.0&fee=1&cost=0.05&hcost=0&commit=Calculate

Still doing pretty good. You will still have the small cost of the space. Colo's love miners since we use no bandwidth. No risk of anything to them but power usage. You can work a nice price on the space. Most of my bill is electricity.

Also that calc is wrong. It depends on how you mine, can change your profits by 25-30%+

Mine disaster? There is no such thing as a drop in the value of the currency, which is still a few times more than a dozen times last year, and the high yield of the graphics card is emerging.
