501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin failed as a currency on: June 03, 2018, 01:26:11 PM
Bitcoin was supposed to be used as a currency, not only a form of investment. However, it's been more successful as a form of investment, a "speculative asset".

Do you guys think that this can change in the long term ?

My first thought about Bitcoin is just a currency. After researching why many users use Bitcoin because it is a form of investment. I agree with your opinion that Bitcoin is more successful as a form of investment. I think in the future many people/companies will accept Bitcoin as a payment method. Bitcoin will still be a form of investment even in the future if its volatility will still exist.
502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook Is Banning Ads for Bitcoin and ICOs on: June 03, 2018, 11:39:53 AM

https://www.coindesk.com/facebook-banning-advertisements-bitcoin-icos/

"Social media giant Facebook has unveiled a new policy that bans advertisements involving bitcoin and initial coin offerings, among others..."

It is kind of sad to hear that Facebook doesn't promote crypto in order to orient people about cryptocurrency. Still, it is a good move by facebook to stop promoting icos. Many people are now scammed of icos and Facebook would be responsible for that. Even this would be a hindrance to show to other people about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, the Facebook are thinking for the sake of people.
503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Advertising on: June 02, 2018, 03:38:40 PM
Today in South Africa on our radio station 90.6 at 13:00 the presenter even read the current Bitcoin price. This is amazing to keep our radio listeners up to date.
Does your country radio stations keep you updated with the current Bitcoin price?

This is good to hear that people are advertising Bitcoin especially in radio and TV stations. The best advertising for me based in my country, Philippines, is social media advertising. Many people, almost Filipino are using social media in that way they would be informed and interested in Bitcoin. If in your country still using radio and many people are using it, I guess that would be an effective plan to spread the news about Bitcoin. Still, advertising Bitcoin is a good news to hear.
504  Economy / Speculation / Re: What does the future of bitcoin look like?? on: June 02, 2018, 07:58:43 AM
For me, the future of Bitcoin will be good. Even though we cannot predict what exactly will happen in the future, Bitcoin may reach a higher price than 20k dollars. In the future many people/company will accept Bitcoin as a payment method. Bitcoin will be widely known by many people in the future. Still, there is a possibility that Bitcoin may pop like a bubble because we cannot predict the future.
505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will crypto replace fiat money? on: May 31, 2018, 09:00:18 AM
I would like to know if cryptocurrency will replace fiat money in the future,  also if so how long it will likely take.  Also,  I would like to know which coin you think would take over if one will.  (E.G. Dogecoin,  BTG, LTC, XMR)

It is impossible for cryptocurrency to replace the fiat money in the future. The government hate the cryptocurrency because of its volatile and uncontrollable price. If there is a thing from Bitcoin that will influence the future, it is its blockchain future. The blockchain has a really good potential that it might be used in the future. A no fiat future could be possibly happen but a cryptocurrency future is impossible.
506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you wait to prove them wrong about Bitcoin? on: May 31, 2018, 05:32:20 AM
I think a lot of people around us has told us that Bitcoin is a FAD or a SCAM or a Ponzi scheme.

Some of our closest relatives have told us to SELL before the BUBBLE will burst. {guess we hear that enough?}

The media is telling everyone that Bitcoin is the tool of criminals and terrorists and child pornographers and paedophiles.

Most of these people are not invested in Bitcoin, but it looks like they are looking for reasons to attack it.

How many of you want to prove them wrong? I sometimes look at these people and I think... WTF are you on about?

I seldom bring up the subject anymore, because everything coming out of their mouths are negative. The only time when they

are interested, is when the price hits a all time high. Then they want advice to invest in Bitcoin and when they buy at the ATH,

and the price drop with 10%, then they panic sell....lose money....blame Bitcoin. I am sooooo sick of this.

I hope we can finally prove them wrong in the near future, because this is definitely getting under my skin now.  Roll Eyes

If I am in your situation, I would really ignore them. The best way to prove them wrong is to wait for the fruit of your investment in Bitcoin. Just be quiet and have the patience to wait for the fruits of your labor. After reaping the rewards, for sure many of your acquaintances will change their perspective about Bitcoin.
507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are still buying Bitcoin? on: May 29, 2018, 05:16:51 PM
If people buy Bitcoin at $8,000, they will get 100% profit only when Bitcoin reaches $16,000. If it takes 5 years to reach $16,000, people will earn more money from Gold and Silver than from Bitcoin. Silver is giving 20% to 35% profit in one year.

Mining cost of one Bitcoin is $5,000 or more. When Bitcoin was $400 or $800 it was understandable because people had to just spend $400 or $800 to get one Bitcoin and $1,200 is super high profits when Bitcoin started from $1.

People are still buying Bitcoin because they believe and trust Bitcoin. They believe that Bitcoin will increase its price again just like its price last December 2017.  They are taking the chance to buy Bitcoin in order to gain its rewards when it reaches again that mark. They also buy Bitcoin in order to trade it for different altcoins and after trading they earn money.
508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin SCAM! on: May 29, 2018, 03:47:22 PM
I was invited by a friend of a friend to invest in Bitcoin last year. He told me that if I invest 5000 in our currency it will be doubled in a month's time. He also promised me that I will get referral fees and override from every person I introduced to Bitcoin and that prices of Bitcoin are expected to increase. To make the story short I did not join because I believe its a pyramiding scam. Truth to be told I did my research on Bitcoin after that and it turn's out that Bitcoin's price was really on rise unfortunately I did not invest at that time. Currently I'm learning more thru this forum and I thank my friend for inviting me here. Just last December I heard from one of my friends that the company they joined was in fact a pyramiding scam and the money they invested in just vanished out of thin air together with the people who invited them. We should be wary of people offering investments and opportunities to us. Do your research. Opportunity comes with risks as well as the rewards. If its too good to be true, it might be a scam. Bitcoin is not a SCAM but there are people who uses Bitcoin to SCAM other people. Good luck to us and more power to Bitcoin!

Good job user on avoiding that scam that might change your perception to Bitcoin. This experience/story really shows that Bitcoin is not a scam. This experience gives us a lesson that we must think first before acting. If you want to join/act, you must research  and gain a sufficient knowledge first before you join/act . In order to lessen the probability of getting a risk of something you must have the sufficient knowledge and/or experience before you chose that risk.
509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does bitcoin need to improve? on: May 29, 2018, 09:08:55 AM
I can clearly see that there are other cryptocurrencies that are beginning to dethrone bitcoin, showing off there quick and secured transactions, though bitcoin continues to be the king. What does bitcoin need to improve state your opinions.

Bitcoin is already good and I guess it doesn't need any changes. The only problem that Bitcoin is facing today is its reputation to other people. Many countries are now banning Bitcoin. Media are making Bitcoin's reputation bad. Bitcoin's reputation are now entitled to us and let's make Bitcoin a better word to every people in the world.
510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a Scam - No more on: May 28, 2018, 04:30:15 PM
#consensus2018

The narrative has changed. It used to be “Is Bitcoin a scam?” now it’s “ how high do you think the price will go”.
Institutional money is on its way people.

Matthew Goetz from 'Block Tower Capital' stated in front of a capacity crowd at Consensus;
"Bitcoin to 60k in 2018"

Goldman Sachs are already well and truly in the space.

There are still people today thinks tha Bitcoin is a scam. I guess their perception about it will not change unless we will inform them. Media really give people misleading information about Bitcoin is not a scam. Bitcoin is a scam when people are greedy and destroying people's lices just for their good.
511  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin value on: May 28, 2018, 03:57:18 PM
I've just watched the John Oliver show about cryptocurrencies and something struck me about what he said:

" like most currencies, the fundamental reason that bitcoin has value is that people agree that it has value"

I just want to know your thoughts on this. I only have a little understanding about the idea of currency and its value although i've already been at it all my life. Im new into this kind currency and right now its plumetting.

I agree with John Oliver. It is really the truth. Just like any other things in this world, people will agree that this thing has a great value. You can search more in this forum and google on how Bitcoin's price is based in order to get the idea.
512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are joking about Bitcoin on: May 27, 2018, 09:53:31 AM
In recent times, some new ICO companies have been kidding about Bitcoin on Twitter, Facebook for their ICO promotion. I think this promotion way is very negative for Bitcoin. They showed that Bitcoin will be destroyed and their token will become number one. They have presented it in such a way that the price of Bitcoin will not rise anymore. I think this type of promotion is  very negative in the market.

It is actually normal for me seeing these people who are promoting their coins/product comparing to the existing one. It is not negative for me, in that way they actually attracting people to their coins/product. Bitcoin will still be the number one in cryptocurrency. These companies are only using tactics in order to sell their product/coin.
513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do people get their bitcoins? on: May 26, 2018, 04:12:56 PM
Hey everyone,

I was wondering how most people here receive their bitcoins? I personally handle in virtual items in video games. (CS:GO, DOTA 2, PUBG) I sell these items on a marketplace and receive BTC for them I also join a online casino now and then to try and make some easy BTC!

Do you guys just invest in bitcoins and not touch them? I personally use mine on a daily base for purchases / trading etc..

Let me know i'm interested!  Grin

Tom / Yaking

I receive my Bitcoins through different signature campaigns in this forum. There are also different services in this forum that will help you earn Bitcoin. You just need the right skill that will fit on the required services in this forum.  It is true that some of investors in Bitcoin leave their Bitcoins and not touch them and wait for the perfect time. There are also people who are mining to earn Bitcoins. There are many ways to earn Bitcoin.
514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we make sure that our money we invest in Bitcoin is safe? on: May 26, 2018, 02:26:23 PM
Hacking your Bitcoin wallet by hackers is really impossible. Hacking to your wallet is possible when you trust your passkey for your wallet to another person. I suggest that you should secure your passkey for your wallet and never trust anyone. Be careful also in what website you are logging in for your wallet, make sure it is the legitimate website. You can also try hardware wallet in order to be safe from these risks.
515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Depending your future in bitcoin... on: May 25, 2018, 03:40:24 PM
I think bitcoin is really a good investment for now, but I don't think it is a good idea to put all your investment in bitcoin or crypto currencies since it is unpredictable and very risky to take. For me it's still better to start your own business than depend your future in bitcoin investment.

What do you think guys?

True. Starting your own business must be prioritize than investing in Bitcoin. The risk is lower in making a business than investing in Bitcoin. You don't know when you will reap the rewards in your investment in Bitcoin. I suggest that you should not put the eggs in one basket. You must have different investments in order to sure that you will earn.
516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can somebody steal your btc? on: May 25, 2018, 02:20:40 PM
Bitcoin wallet getting hacked give us worries.  It is really impossible getting our wallet hacked without giving the hackers information about your key. The only way to ensure that your Bitcoin wallet is safe is by trusting no one. Be careful in what website you are going to. Double check the website that you are accessing your account info. Check if the website is the legit one.
517  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin & College students . on: May 22, 2018, 05:40:41 PM
I believe that a huge portion of the the crypto community are still young college students that don't have any necessities that need another source of income aside from their scholarships / the money they are getting from their parents .
And apart from spending their cryptos on either betting or purchasing goods/video games from online markets , many of these students didn't make plans for what they'll do with their coins in the future.
I myself have had many thoughts about hodling and launching a business as soon as i graduate with the coins in my possession , yet i'm not exactly sure what i'll be doing ..
So i'm really curious about :
- On what do you spend your coins apart than partying/gambling/paying for tuition loans ?
- Do you have any future plans for your coins if you are hodling any ?

I am an upcoming college student and I only met Bitcoin from the last couple of months. I am holding my coins because I trust to Bitcoin's price in the future. Once Bitcoin's price really hit a high value, I will use the money to make a business. I can also use my coins if I badly need money in order to pay my expenses in college. These are the plans that I will do in my coins.
518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the reason why we really need Bitcoin? on: May 22, 2018, 04:56:19 PM
Some people really need Bitcoin because it is another source for their income. Aside from Bitcoin as a source of income, for me the important part of Bitcoin why we need is the Blockchain technology. The blockchain technology is the one who will benefit me and the humanity in the future and that is why the reason I needed it more than Bitcoin.
519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PLAYSTORE and APPSTORE!! on: May 22, 2018, 04:01:34 PM
We are into gadgets, most of the people are addict on it.
We spent more of our vacant time facing our Cellphones and Ipads.

Playing games and downloading some apps on the store require payments, Is this the best time for those stores to open their payment method with cryptocurrency specially Bitcoin?

This is a really good idea in promoting Bitcoin. Many people nowadays are using their smartphones, I think most of the people. If Bitcoin would be a payment method in google play or in app store, then many people would become interested on what really Bitcoin is. After they become interested, they would become curious. When the people become curious in what Bitcoin is, many people will be knowledgeable about Bitcoin and trust it.
520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin down, what will happen? on: May 22, 2018, 03:21:12 PM
seeing bitcoin prices go down and up, I'm a bit frightened to buy bitcoin at the moment, I judge I could lose, do you think, whether bitcoin prices can continue to go down, or even rise high?

Bitcoin's price will always go down and up, and it is really hard to predict when it will go down or up. I suggest that you must remove that worrying/fear as an investor because worrying/fear closes the door to reach your goals. Many investors conquer these fears and they reap its benefits at the end. In order to avoid what you are worrying you must gain knowledge on how to invest in Bitcoin. In order to reach your goals, worrying/feat must come out and leave your life.
