501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / nvidia wouldnt let me checkout out, never sent me emails on: January 26, 2018, 04:27:57 PM
so I saw that they had the nvidia in stock, and I went to go put it in my cart, and then gone, couldnt check out, kept trying to add to cart, and checkout it failed. it then went to notify me....

so there must be millions of people sitting there refreshing every 5 seconds t waiting before me to get this, that in the fractions of a second, I was not fast enough.

Nvidia never emailed me either..
502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN | VISION | EQUIHASH | POW | DECENTRALIZED ASSETS | GPU MINING on: January 26, 2018, 12:21:50 PM
10% pow rewards as dev fee, that's too high, I won't mine this coin, nothing new for the society, just waste hash power.

yep, your working for the DEV

NEXT!
503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN | VISION | EQUIHASH | POW | DECENTRALIZED ASSETS | GPU MINING on: January 26, 2018, 12:19:42 PM
Get your coin listed on coinscontrol.com Exchange for a very low fee of 0.05 btc. Offer is good for a very limited time only.

do not use coinscontrol they rob people like coinsmarket!
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / will atomic swaps destroy the crypto world? on: January 26, 2018, 03:17:26 AM
I hear about this new thing call atomic swap, where you can change one coin for another, and cut out the exchange and the exchanges fees.

now it sounds great but if more people use atomic swap, wont this make trading on an exchange obsolete ?

if im not mistaken the price of a coin is based on whos buying and selling on the exchange. well, what if people stop using exchanges?  wouldnt this crash the price of all alt coins because nothing would be showing in coins market cap?
505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: does anyone here have a titan v? on: January 26, 2018, 03:15:33 AM
Perhaps you should look it up and compare, if that's the comparison that you want to do.  Did you even specify algo?  You need to be comparing hashrate per algo.

well thats what im wondering

the highest rate is the lyra2revv2 algo at 64000.0 kh/s

can a titan v get 128,000 for  lyra2revv2?
can a titan v get 192,000 for lyra2revv2?

why is nobody using a titan v? I would have thought people would have rigs of them if they were so powerful, like how 1 vega 64 = 2 or 3 other lower spec amd cards in terms of hash rate in cryptonight
506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: does anyone here have a titan v? on: January 26, 2018, 03:00:54 AM
how come this card isnt on the whattomine list? Inferior due to chip or ram incompatibility?  The thing is $3000, is the thing worth $3000? Has anyone tried mining with it?

The info is on google.

yeah but I want to see if anyone has one here, and is using one.

Its not inferior... Its superior, however the cost is prohibitive -- but it crushes and is a great mining card.  You would have to look at the ROI on it and see how long it takes as compared to a 1080ti to get your money back.

well im more interested in how many 1080ti = 1 titian V

because if 2 1080ti are greater power then 1 titan V does it makes sense to get a titian V? You will

is it at least 3 1080ti in terms of hashing power?

509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / can someone make a coin, to direct the hashing power for something else fooling on: January 26, 2018, 12:54:06 AM
the miners? I was wondering I keep seeing these coins come out, new ones, and since I have only 1 1070 I try to get on the new ones. So a couple times we mine and I dont get many coins and sometimes others complain.

can someone make a coin, then make a pool, pay the miners in their shit coin all the while directing all the hash power somewhere else to collect another coin?

or can they direct the hash power for a DDOS or something?
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: At today's prices it would take 10 months to pay back 1 1080ti before you made $ on: January 26, 2018, 12:09:17 AM
If you've got the patience you should not be buying any price-gouged GPUs at all. Nvidia's webstore is regularly restocked with GPUs, though you have to be quick and it's limited to two cards per customer, and EVGA also occasionally sells GPUs at reasonable prices, near their MSRP.

Reddit's /r/buildapcsales is also another place you can go to for finding deals. It's even possible to set up alerts for posts about a certain GPU on the subreddit. Haven't seen many people mentioning this for finding GPUs before, but I've snagged many nice deals for GPUs from there.

when does nvidia site get restocked I put my  email on the list and they never email me. every single place I put my name on the list wont notify me

You guys are all doing it wrong.

Instead of paying $1500 for a 1080ti to make $5/day

You should just get an 7970/280X from Craigslist for like $150 and make $2.5/day

In days like these all the legacy gpus like the Pitcairns and Tahiti's make the most sense.

No point teaching what profit means to the stupid, I guess they like to pay $1500 for a gtx 1080 ti and say to everybody they paid $2000 for it and then try to sell to the next idiot for $3000 and $3000 is titan v but no, they dont want that, they want to pay $2000 for a $700 card, that probably will mean status to their idiotic action.

you cant even get the titian V right now.

how many 1080tis = 1 titan?

$3000 is alot for a card. I dont see it on whattomine, so its hard to say how much it could make me. I like to make educated purchases and really study and read reports before I spend alot.

Right now it says "Masternode Collateral: 10000 BHD".

This is completely ridiculous.  There will only be 11000 BHD mined by the time block 600 comes around and PoS/MNs start.  You will be the only one running an MN for days, and the lower PoW will make it EVEN harder for ANYONE else to get an MN.  You're going to ruin your coin with that kind of economics.

thanks for this post, was going to try the coin but fuck this shit, I downloaded 2 coin wallets brand new coins and mined for 24 hours and got like 0.0002 of a coin

its like WTF if its this hard to 1 day after it came out whats the point
514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POW][STL] Stellite - private, untraceable, and truly decentralized on: January 25, 2018, 04:32:34 PM
Im mining on this one http://stl.hpool.net/ anyone else?
10,000 coins till you get paid? no way. the difficulty it might take weeks to get paid. If they changed it to 1000 then 100 better.
10000 coin till payout thats shit

I was able to mine 60,000 STL coins here with only 1 1070

http://89.221.212.71/#

the difficulty is high now, so instead of getting 2000 coins every 10 minutes I get like 100 every hour now

Wont last with big boys

didnt they say the same thing about monero or what ever coin came out with no white paper or nothing?

and what big boys? ETN has proven to be a scam and it rose to 12 cents, they promised $30 monthly returns on their white paper for their mobile miner,  got caught in a lie, and they dont even have a mobile miner. Its just a cryptonight coin right now, with the IDEA of a mobile miner.

so if they could get a working miner going they might will kill it.

How is ETN proven to be a scam? Their mobile miner app is in beta now. And they actually have some real marketing that tries to make some real deals. Its a bit different project than most of these coins that are put out by 15 year olds. I think people made a lot of money from their investment in ETN ICO, so calling it a scam is nonsense.

https://www.facebook.com/electroneum/videos/1945639132364722/

There already are real miners for mobile, but they will not only heat up your phone but also drain your battery. The ETN mobile miner is basically a marketing app, its main purpose is just to airdrop small amounts of ETN for people to get into crypto.

Here is a person actually mining ETN on a iPhone : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyYxu3DFong

There are plenty of actual real miners for mobile phones.

And if the intention is to make a crypto for mobile mining, the right way to go would have been cryptonight-lite that is much more suitable for low end CPU:s because it only takes 1mb of cache per thread.

We're not just about marketing and mobile mining, we are about bringing innovation to this space and plus we have no marketing tricks and tactics in our back pockets we just want to do what we and the community thinks is right. For instance, we're doing an IPFS and ZeroNet integration for node list distribution (among other things) which has never been attempted by any other coin. Mobile mining is a misnomer because we plan to help people from all over the globe in mining on anything that has a silicon board.

You are selling a product, but you have no marketing? Have you ever sold anything?

Here is the difference with ETN and you, do you think the large audience has any interest int IPFS and ZeroNet geeg terms? No. This is exactly why ETN is doing fine.

There are hundreds of these "community coins", ETN took another route. It aims for larger audience, and knows it's mostly a marketing effort. Large audience = value.

ETN is all about marketing their product before it is even functional. This project aims to be about the tech first, then focus on marketing. If they can achieve what they claim they want to, then it can be a successful project. Marketing is not as significant as the tech quality.

Yeah, and this is exactly why it will never be at the level of ETN. Marketing is the most important thing. Tech comes second. That's just how it goes. As even if you have the best tech out there, but if nobody knows it it has no value. If you have mediocre tech that everyone knows, it has much greater value.

I just think its idiotic to bash ETN, when you should be learning from what they did.

It's a basic problem with people who are into tech, they don't understand marketing. And i'm one of them, a tech person. And i have learned this lesson in my life when i actually started to sell something.

ETN is a bunch of scammers they LIED on their white paper and got caught. but they made it to 12 cents, which is good for business.

at the end of the day, people want a working product. ETN is just a cryptonight coin, not much different then this coin, except ETN is overpriced and they got to 12 cents through lying. If this coin makes a working app, they have a damn good shot a stealing market capital from ETN and investors jumping on a coin

they said the same thing about litecoin and monero when they came out...they would never make it.....at the end of the day you let the tech do the talking, and you dont have to sell or market anything

515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bad time to get into GPU mining - yes or no? Share your thoughts! on: January 25, 2018, 02:12:59 PM
I feel at the beginning POW was a good idea but with difficulty has risen so much and the power to mine coins increased a lot. While we are trying to adept electrical cars and trying to help the world( I am not talking about everyone, some people really don't care), on the other hand we consume so much electricity for mining. Bitcoin mining is using more power than 159 countries. It is crazy. I feel like mining will never die but in the long term, many coins will switch to more environmental friendly algos. In short term still, It is not a good idea to invest mining now. Buying a coin and waiting for increase is a better idea.

gave up on looking for a card. im just going to wait and hopefully can order from nvida

im not paying $1400 for a $600 video card.

1 1080ti makes you 5 dollars a day, and you would need to mine 24 hours a day 7 days a week for like 10 months to get your money back.  you cant mine shit with 1 card you need 2. now what your pushing $2400 to make $10 dollars a day?

then, you have to worry about the exchange robbing you like

hitbtc robs people
like coinshouse.eu robs peoples
like coinsmarket.com robbed people with exit scam
like yobit robbing people.

ect,ect

a miner is at the mercy of the exchange the coin is on, good luck dealing with hitbtc or any of the other scams

how many coins do you get for hard drive mining?

@dev

Hi,

I don't want to be rude but something is wrong here if you want the first exchange to be poloniex.

Can you explain why did you choose poloniex and also why do you think they will list Stellite at this early stage?

Any exchange listing is good for a cryptocurrency. At this point, we're trying to get as many as we can in order to allow users to be able to trade STEL easily. I deleted Poloniex from the exchange list because we only applied to it. We reworked our strategy for exchange applications and will start applying for small to medium-sized exchanges first.

Well, there is nothing wrong with ur idea about the exchanges, maybe it's a good idea indeed.
What do you think about HitBTC? Not that big, many cryptonight coins.. But they also got there troubles (so i dont know if that's a good choice)

Cryptopia is maybe a good way to start, just like ETN (Electroneum) did.

HitBTC is alright. Cryptopia asked for something like 16 BTC for the listing, which is quite ridiculous.

nothit btc is not alright they are robbing everyone
https://forum.hitbtc.com/categories/support
https://www.reddit.com/r/hitbtc/

I will tell you this, if you put your coin on shit exchanges your going to kill the coin because the exchange WILL rob all your investors.

look at what happened with coinsmarkets...

the list goes on and on, yobit known scam within the crypto world.

crazy that some people would want to put the coin on bad exchanges
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: It has begun. Video card companies STOP offering warrenties on their video cards on: January 25, 2018, 03:40:55 AM
What we will start seeing is a type of BIOS fuse like some Android manufacteurs have to see if a phone was rooted before.

SO if you flash your bios, you blow the fuse and they can tell you bios modded it to mine with it.

Because right now as far as I know, its impossible to tell if it was used by mining.

And honestly mining uses less stress than people who overclock/overvolt their GPU inside a computer case without any intake/exhust fans.

microcenter is price gouging. And they wont honor the warranty anymore. I refuse to pay for a card without a warranty. A company should stand by its product. What microcenter is doing should be criminal

520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Microcenter and pricing on: January 25, 2018, 03:26:36 AM
Does anyone if MC is "allowed" to not sell at MSRP? I just got back and they have jacked up prices tremendously. RX 580 Saphires are $650. 1080 ti's are $1300. 1070 ti's are $940. Hell, 1060's are $600! I know it's the going rate, but from a retailer?

its just barbaric times we live in, to many savages looking for video cards.

cant buy used these days,  cards been beat to shit.

microcenter wont sell warranties on the video cards.  We have reached the point where, for a new person coming in the game, its just not worth it. think about it

1 1080ti will make you 5-6 dollars a day, and look at the price, really? add 2 now... what if one breaks? then what, good luck finding another one. $940 for 1 1070, that I have, its made me chump change, nothing to talk about. I would hate to have to drop $1000 on a video card. Im wearing the shit out for what? $5 a day?

you need like 4 or 5 video cards and look at the price, its just not worth it. unless you have money to pay these prices.
