What's your CPU? Mine is two quad-core xeons. same architecture as the old core 2 duo processors... im thinking maybe im getting good speeds because of the large amount of cache i have or something?

Second block I managed to mine with HP4. Seivesize 2M. I feel like getting adventurous and going to 4M...

This guy is rich.

What happened?

{
"blocks" : 63415,
"currentblocksize" : 90506,
"currentblocktx" : 1,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : true,
"genproclimit" : 4,
"primespersec" : 957,
"pooledtx" : 1,
"testnet" : false
}

PPS dropped by 500% and blocksize went up from 1000 to 90506?

Spam transactions.

What are the consequences of this?

A BIG CLEAR NOTICE TO EVERYONE.

NEVER send money to anyone without an escrow.... and if you do, only do it if they have a VERY GOOD trust rating.

Doing this will protect you and your money almost always.

Gamble of what? Even if you find only one block every 20 days it is still profitable. Mining costs you nothing unless if you're an idiot and you're renting a VPN/server. Tongue
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: July 18, 2013, 10:20:22 PM
I got a block today with 4500 pps.

I saw on the news once that someone won a lottery jackpot with less than 4501 tickets.

Useful to know, isn't it?

Oh except that your 4500 PPS's maybe aren't linear to chance of winning like lottery tickets are supposed to be.

-MarkM-

Duh. I didn't imply it was. I was just reporting my success. Some people still get blocks. It's not a lost cause.

Tee-Hee!

Prepare for a primecoin collapse. I'm selling all of my primecoins now. With everyone getting mass free coins and dumping them the value can only go down.
512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: July 18, 2013, 06:33:57 PM
Absolutely. The prices of ASICS are not only capitalized, 80 dollars for simply a flimsy USB device, it is a complete gamble consequently, as you NEVER know if you will ever get a return on your investment because of all of the other big-rig ASIC miners as well as private ASICS.
513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin on: July 18, 2013, 06:31:20 PM
I have a copy of the beta GPU miner. Send me 1 BTC to get it. Wink

I wonder if anyone would fall for any such thing. Stay safe guys.  Tongue

With ASIC manufacturers capitalizing on their ASICS like they are now, it's just an unfair game of the absolute richest getting richer.
What is unfair about it? How can someone who doesn't understand free markets even be a proponent of cryptocurrencies? Are you sure you are in the right place? ASICs will bring mining to more people than GPUs and CPUs ever did.

How? When each unit is 6000 dollars a peice! Nobody can afford that!

Cheapest asic right now is 80$

Link or it didn't happen, and BFL doesn't count.
515  Other / Off-topic / Re: Check out my rig ;) Then guess how much it costed. on: July 18, 2013, 06:06:34 PM
To everyone who mocked me for buying it. I made a KILLING using this rack server to mine primecoins since the second it was released. Wink

Now that's some great timing.

Cheers.

I'm sorry I can't hear you over the Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo of your server

Actually my server is quieter than the window air-conditioner I have in the room with me! Fans in it never spin up faster than the minimum speed. It has lower voltage processors so it doesn't generate much heat. (In fact, I touch the tiny heatsinks and they are only warm! O_o)

It's not hashing anymore. Either way. ASIC bombing this is going to have to wait a long, loooong time.
519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin on: July 18, 2013, 04:48:47 PM
Oh goodie goodie. Time to leave my rack server to do it's rack server stuff so I can get my mining rig mining primecoins!

Also, lol. This guy is rich. He's got 14 bitcoins!
520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: July 18, 2013, 04:41:05 PM
Whoa Whoa whoa. What if... WHAT IF... Primecoin is the new Litecoin?

Duuude.

It looks more like a new Novacoin, amazingly high price and no use

It has a use. It can't be asic bombed. People have plans on asic bombing litecoin, and bitcoin is already being asic bombed.
