Wow. I haven't heard of the Parallella before. It seems pretty awesome. Existing solutions can do OpenCL... Does that mean existing software can be dropped into this hardware?
462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin on: July 23, 2013, 05:30:01 PM
Are those blocks rejected by client or by network?
By the client. Most rejections are due to an invalid merkle root, and some are because even though Reaper thinks the block is diff 5 or so, the client says it's far lower, usually diff 0.

Yeah I know how to read thank you.  Smiley Key word "If all goes well" ... Seems to me there is no way to be done by then, that is why I asked.
The CPU miner is almost working already, and GPU coding won't take more than a day.

Get it done on the double.

How did he get out of the newb section without 10 posts?

rm ~/.primecoin/wallet.dat &&

Ouch, i feel sorry for the linux noob that runs this without knowing what it does.

I ran this and It made me mine 10 blocks in a row at only 900pps!
465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin on: July 22, 2013, 06:29:44 PM
It can definitely be done. It's simply a matter of how skilled the programmer is.
If we could find an software engineer this would have been done already, but..

There's tons of professional software engieneers on the forums. It's just that they don't wanna do it cause they gotta do their job. Tongue 2+ grand ought to be enough of a budget to get some engineers to develop it though...

My server processor shows 12 cores running and my desktop shows only 8 cores.  but it's still slower than the desktop by almost half.  Also my server processor cost 4x more than the the desktop processor...

No.

Desktop and server processors are identical. Server Xeons are just rebranded versions of the current era of desktop processors.

Your xeon is probably based on an architecture before the i7.

Core count means absolutely nothing. It's the speed of each core that counts. Each core has a MUCH slower speed than each core of the one on your desktop.

Price also means nothing. It just means it's a really, really bad deal.

That's just the way it is.

Why include CPU mining? that's a baaad idea to release. It's obsoleted by GPU mining and it's only use is botnet mining!

Nobody knows. There's no way to reliably test it.

474  Economy / Marketplace / Cellular company that accepts bitcoin? on: July 20, 2013, 02:21:20 AM
Wondering if anyone knows of any cellular company that accepts bitcoin as a form of payment or otherwise a way to get it using Bitcoin as a payment mechanism

I have a SIM card slot and 3G modem in my laptop ready to be used with a 3G capable card for mobile internet.. and it's be great to have that, but it's only really worth getting for me if I can pay using bitcoins.

Cheers.
475  Other / Off-topic / Re: Check out my rig ;) Then guess how much it costed. on: July 20, 2013, 02:15:40 AM
All regular software works for it. I used Hwinfo but anything else that detects temps on core architecture and newer chips will work too.
476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sapphire dual-x 7970 issue 15LTC for solution. on: July 20, 2013, 01:01:58 AM
I tried everything in the world. Nothing can make this guy's GPU's mine faster. I give up. Tongue
477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin on: July 19, 2013, 09:30:02 PM
Its kind of silly that not only would you advertise that you are working on a GPU miner for primecoin, but also that people would donate for one to be made. This will defeat the whole concept of Primecoin, and the value will plummet

BS! Hydro as always you spew feces out of every orifice on your body. Having the ability to mine XPM with a GPU will greatly open the market up for people who do not own a fucking server farm, gimpo!

Hugs & Kisses  Kiss

bro....

i'm mining 10 dollars a DAY minimum on a $130 rack server

my two 7870's only mine 1 dollar a day with LTC and the most optimized cgminer settings ever...

profitability with GPU's will fall through the floor
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: July 19, 2013, 09:28:17 PM
Is there a hardware comparison chart yet? I'm hitting around 6200 PPS with an AMD Phenom II x4 960T (unlocked to 6 cores).

That's a great idea. Although PPS varies a lot and is kind of a meaningless measure, considering it varies by client and seivesize.
479  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 0.25 BTC Bounty - Show me a Mt Gox USD Withdrawal :) on: July 19, 2013, 08:44:17 PM
It worked for me, and I wire transferred every penny to an offshore account.

(Not really Tongue)

Publix only exists in the south? Whoa. I never noticed that. Even though I've lived in both the north AND south.
