Moonbeam/moonriver

I have been waiting for the news for a very long time when there will be the first auctions for spare parachains. I heard that these projects will be added as parachains without a vote because they are very important to the ecosystem.

5046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PolyNetwork Hacked, $600 million Lost on: August 18, 2021, 09:48:40 PM
I wonder why the hacker returned everything without even taking any reward for his efforts. Maybe he was affraid of his safety and thought they can track him somehow, when he decides to withdraw the prize.
They wrote about this in the news that his IP address was found.
I'm not sure, of course, but I think that such hacks do not happen by accident. It was either someone from the development team who blabbed about the bug or team members took part in it.
Smartcontacts are not subject to change, so if an error is found, it is difficult to fix it.
5047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Facebook stablecoin on: August 18, 2021, 09:42:32 PM
A bit of history:
June 2019 - Facebook crypto project announcement
"In April 2020, Libra shifted gears, aiming to become a traditional stablecoin
The following month, Calibra switched its name to Novi. In December, the Libra Association jettisoned its moniker in favor of Diem."
https://decrypt.co/78891/facebook-crypto-wallet-is-ready-market-is-market-ready-novi

https://medium.com/@davidmarcus/good-stablecoins-a-protocol-for-money-and-digital-wallets-the-formula-to-fix-our-broken-payment-f11f59fc92d7
"Novi is ready to come to market. It’s regulated, and we’re confident in our operational ability to exceed the high standards of compliance that will be demanded of us."

Do you think this will be the reason for a new pump on the crypto market?
5048  Economy / Economics / Re: Warning against CBDC from bank of Ghana on: August 17, 2021, 06:05:50 PM
CBDC is a technology on a centralized blockchain. at first, users will be offered various bonuses and privileges, and when there are a lot of users,
the regulators will start a ban and block policy.
Cryptocurrencies will be able to give users some freedom and a guarantee of the safety of coins.
5049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Earn passive income with ethereum 2.0 on: August 17, 2021, 05:52:12 PM
If you have multiple Ethereum coins, you wouldn't want to use those coins for staking.
A very small percentage, and if you use smart contracts, you will pay several hundred dollars in transaction fees, which will make your profit minimal.
And it is dangerous to store on centralized exchanges, I have been trying not to do this lately.
5050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Polkadot and Uniswap Survive? on: August 17, 2021, 05:44:04 PM
Polkadot and Uniswap are both present in the crypto market in 2020. As a relatively new coin in the market, many are asking and thinking whether they will survive in the midst of the great old coins?
In January 2021 Uniswap slowly rose in price from $4.9. While Polkadot also experienced an increase in the same month and year by $5. The market continues to run and they are also holding on to prices not much different (Polkadot $27, Uniswap $29). Their rankings on the coinmarketcap list are also close together (DOT #9, UNI #11).
*source: https://coinmarketcap.com/
Let's discuss
These are completely different projects. DOT tokens can be used to vote for projects that will be added to the Polkadot ecosystem.
Few projects will be added without a vote, such as the bridge between Polkadot and Bitcoin and the bridge between Polkadot and Ethereum.
For me, polcadot looks like a more promising investment.

https://decrypt.co/78699/crypto-trading-app-1inch-launches-ethereum-scaling-solution-optimism
"Crypto Trading App 1inch Launches on Ethereum Scaling Solution Optimism
1inch Exchange continues its multi-chain expansion after integrating yet another Ethereum scaling solution.
Like Uniswap’s alpha launch in July, throughput on 1inch’s iteration will be limited to 0.6 transactions per second. For context, Ethereum’s mainnet currently processes about 30 transactions per second and Bitcoin processes roughly 7 transactions per second. "
5052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is OneLedger (OLT) The Most Undervalued Cryptocurrency? on: August 15, 2021, 10:25:04 PM
https://etherscan.io/token/0x64a60493d888728cf42616e034a0dfeae38efcf0#balances
I open the statistics for the 2017 project and see that more than 80% of tokens are located on 6 addresses.
Of course, you need to figure out what these addresses are, but for some reason I have no desire to study such projects.

Or am I mistaken and this project already has its own blockchain, and the data on tokens is irrelevant?
5053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the recent Ethereum upgrade? Is it good or bad? on: August 15, 2021, 10:16:18 PM
Lately, the Ethereum community of users including "me" is rejoicing and boosting that the Ethereum v2.0 London upgrade will be a game-changer, particularly the EIP-1559 implementation, But in a few days later, many are wondering why the Ethereum gas fees were still high, despite the upgrade was done already, some users are saying that Eth developers are just giving false hope, while other also saying that it's not working the way we are expected, in the time of writing the average gas price is $7.74(43 gwei) and for me, it was still high compare to BSC, Polygon and other Layer 2 chain.

What do you guys think? drop your fearless opinion below!
And who told you that after the London hard fork, commissions will decrease. The more demand on the Ethereum network for transactions, the higher the base commission that is burned.
The rest, referred to as Tips for Miners, can drive up the cost of transactions during times of demand.
The London hard fork is just the first stepping stone to scalability, not a cheap commission solution.
Sharding is still a long way off.
5054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is not a rival of Bitcoin on: August 15, 2021, 10:07:53 PM
The comparison of the value of etherum and bitcoin is very far, the price of one BTC is $ 45,975 and one Etherum is $ 3,152 (15 August 2021, 16:53:00). Etherum is far behind BTC, although Etherum’s current popularity is great, unfortunately Etherum still can’t be the first in the market. what do you think?
Max Supply of Bitcoin 21M
Ethereum's Max Supply will be aiming for 100M due to burning.
The crypto world will change very quickly, and fast blockchains with low-cost transactions will be the most popular.
I heard a very interesting idea about bitcoin. While the world government was fighting against bitcoin, a lot of other projects came to the market, and now the revolution cannot be stopped.
Bitcoin has taken over all attacks for many years.
5055  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: Uniswap- обзор DEFI проекта on: August 15, 2021, 09:51:15 PM

Impermanent Loss.
https://medium.com/auditless/impermanent-loss-in-uniswap-v3-6c7161d3b445

5056  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When Decentralized in DeFi has a Single Point of Failure on: August 14, 2021, 10:12:53 PM
I remember when I was first introduced to the term decentralization in crypto, one of the main highlights was that it doesn't have a central server, a central control system, a central admin, a central point person, a central everything whose failure or malfunction could mean the failure of the entire system. And this sold well to me. It's the one aspect which makes decentralization worth trusting. A decentralized system means less worries because there is no single point of failure.

Nobody controls the money except the one who's got the private keys. Transactions are peer to peer, no need to trust a third party. There's no CEO. No president either. Codes rule. ...until a bug is found by someone who's looking for fun and more than $610 million is stolen, the largest theft ever to happen in the crypto universe.[1] And it happened in a decentralized system.

Which leads us to ask, how come? Can any random person just enter a decentralized system and take away hundreds of millions? Well, probably no. But perhaps we should begin to evaluate the decentralized in DeFi and in other decentralized services.

But to someone who's a newbie or a crypto layman who doesn't have the technical capacity to review codes and smart contracts, perhaps we should just adopt a skeptical view of what's being offered us hot. Let us be more cautious. After all, this is not the first time an attack on a decentralized platform happened.

When someone talks about hacking, I suggest comparing which is more hacked.
Hackers Stole $3.8 Billion in Cryptocurrency Hacks in 2020
https://decrypt.co/54128/hackers-stole-3-8-billion-in-cryptocurrency-hacks-in-2020
"Crypto wallets had 27 attacks and were the most lucrative target for the hackers, with $3.03 billion in losses."
It is very easy to lose money in the cryptocurrency space.

Welcome to this thread if you love reading about hacks.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5267124.0
Previously, everyone was interested in auditing projects, but now projects are hacked a few days after the official audit
Think very carefully before sending your money to similar projects. Hackers may return the money, but your nerves cannot be returned:)

HUMAN Protocol (HMT)
https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/human-protocol
https://cryptorank.io/ico/human-protocol

One of the interesting projects that was traded on Coinlist at $ 0.50 and $ 0.75. Buyers of tokens did not receive a large ROI, but the project seems interesting to me.
Has anyone considered investing in this project?

https://coinlist.co/human
If you look at the chart, there may still be a pump until October, until the 2020 Strategic Sale tokens are unlocked

Why didn't you write why you think this project is interesting? Your announcement looks like you would already invested and promote this project just to build a pump, raise the price and sell it for a profit. I'm not saying that it is, but it would be more fair if you first could provide some information and reasons why this project is interesting to you and might be successful.
I have not invested in this project yet.
If a pump and dump scheme seems to you, then do not invest in this project.
I assume that in a bull market, the price of this token could rise to $ 3-5.
Because it is more profitable for a manipulator to raise the price now in order to sell tokens at a higher price in October.
This is not investment advice, DYOR.
