5041  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is Bitcoin so cheap? on: September 14, 2013, 01:06:11 PM
Economists say that in an effective market price of an item is it's future utility times probability of it happen times our time preference. That is if chances of Bitcoin trading for 500K$ in 10 years time are, say, 50% and we value a dollar today twice as much as a dollar in 10 years time, then Bitcoin today should be trading at 125,000$ apiece. Still it's trading thousand times cheaper. Why?

BTC is a cryptocurrency but its not the only one. Its very likely that in the coming decade other cryptocurrencies come around that will outperform BTC.

So your assumption of 500K$ MAY be wrong.
5042  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: September 12, 2013, 02:17:27 PM
I have to say though, I am amazed by the level of trust I've seen in this community. The market cap of this stock is good  example.
A lot of AM investors have already received their money back in dividends.

Anyone that bought in late Feb - early March has gotten their ROI, AM has paid out a total of about 0.54/share.

Indeed, but in terms of fair valuation of this stock past divs doenst matter. Only future divs matter.

I personally think that the early bird advantage is gone and now as the big guys are entering the market the competetion ist going through the roof.

That means WAY lower profit margins for every ASIC producer and thus means WAY lower divs in the long term.

Special time is over imo.

Yet they are happy to support mega farms

Source?
Um, the post I will commenting on above. Also I guess you haven't heard of things like ASICminer and 100TH

I asked for a source not some fishy comment in a thread.

5046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: September 08, 2013, 03:19:34 PM
I posted something on this earlier today, not response, but am a bit concerned. Been a long time user of this pool and built tools to support it. Today has been a concern to me and need help understanding the why or may opt to jump ship if I can't explain it. I am running 4 MH/s of hashing power. All day pulling in about 420 shares an hour consistently with low rejects. Very low. Like 8 or so right now and not far off from that all day except a couple times. Around 3:30pm CST I was at .061 BTC with a bit over .025 BTC immature and .01ish unexchanged. It's now 9:15PM CST and at .068 BTC and around the same level of immature and unexchanged as 3:30. You can't tell me that for almost 6 hours I got .007 BTC and no, there isn't a bunch sitting in immature. Any explanation what's going on?

I think we were mining LTC then, so it may be the case that we just didn't get many blocks during that time. I'm not really sure.

Proxy the pool into wemineltc and wemineftc (for LTC/FTC) to reduce variance.

i am mining now for over a month with this pool. i have no problem at all with variance. what do i care if we have some bad days in a row? are you really dependend on 0.01 BTC more on a certain day?

They wanted it to be rack mountable for data centers.  Racks are typically 19" wide.

It's not 19" wide, and not rackable.  Further, the PS is external and has to live next to the case.  Awful solution from every perspective.

absolutely! i should immediately cancel all my orders. the psu isnt in the case? oh my fuckin god!!!!!

No, u should keep your orders.  You're giving me delicious lulz.  Never change.

what lulz? you are sooo fuckin right man! the psu isnt in the case!!! thats SUCH a BIG problem! no lulz here, just pure gratitude towards you.
5049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 07, 2013, 11:05:54 PM
Keith from KNC says:

Quote
There has been a slight revision in our casing that we had neglected to previously explain.

The case has had an airflow improvement to ensure increased thermal efficiency.

We have ensured the hot air from the front two heatsinks is redirected, avoiding the rear chips, and is expelled from the casing by installing fins affixed to the upper casing section (despite appearing in the CAD as part of the lower section of casing). In turn this allows a sufficient amount of cool air exits to ensure a cooler operating environment for the rear heatsinks to operate comfortably.

What I don't understand is why they didn't make a wider case with all four modules side by side instead of trying to direct the air with baffles.

do you ship to switzerland?
5051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 05, 2013, 09:32:05 PM
as soon as you can buy asics from the shelf there wont be any profit anymore to gather

people are willing to pay to high prices for those asics regarding the future difficulty and that leads to overpriced asic hardware

if you are lucky you will make marginal profits like 5% a year

no preorder = no whining = no gain

edit: investomers is a good term cause its exactly what we are doing. we are basically funding a startup. usually you arent able to do so as a small investor cause its the job of big venture capital firms, but we are in a special situation as bitcoin far from being established and the usual partners like banks and venture capital stay away as soon as they hear "bitcoin". so THATS the reason we are allowed to gather good profits as investomers.
5052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 05, 2013, 07:24:33 PM
I agree that knc is most likely legit, but why do they need to perpetuate this insanely risky(for the buyer) pre-order model at this point? AM and the secondary market have demonstrated beyond any reasonable doubt that in hand hardware for immediate delivery commands a significant premium over hardware paid for now and delivered in x months down the road. Knc plainly has the funding to become the second major player to only sell what they actually have, but they're passing on the opportunity to change the scenery and likely leaving money on the table doing so. Instead bitfury will likely wear this crown and it will erode knc's future sales.

no preorder = no yield

- CoinTera - 2000G#, 2U sized miner for $14,000 - by, Dec 2013

- KNCMiner - 400G# miner for $5000 (2000G# for $25,000) - by, Oct 2013

Hi kncminer, how would you justify $14K vs. $25K price difference?! 2 months of lead time?

u know. two months is a lot these days.

i am asking myself: what will happen to all those trolls once knc ships and the inverstment proves good.

will any of them have the guts to come here and admit being wrong? or will they choose the more pathetic way and just leave the thread without a word?

i regard this whole trolling and writing bullshit day in day out as extremly pathetic and wouldnt be surprised if we never see those *****`s again.

And if KnC doesn't ship on spec & on time?

Have we got a deal? Cheesy

I didnt say " ship on spec & on time", i said that the "investment prooves good". And i measure this of course in BTCs.

If this investment prooves wrong you can bet your ass that its going to be discussed here. But otherwise i dont expect to see any of you idiots to come here after KNC has shipped. And THATS what makes it so pathetic!

Edit: Nevertheless i like that gif. Wink

Irre schnell gelöste Blöcke in letzter Zeit, obwohl die Difficulty so ansteigt.

Dir ist aber schon klar dass wir immer noch dieselbe Difficulty haben wie vor knapp einer Woche?
5058  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: August 31, 2013, 01:23:57 PM
