Bitcoins Are Back, at Least for Porn and Poker - http://www.tnr.com/blog/plank/105649/bitcoins-are-back-least-porn-and-pokerAs the bitcoin makes its comeback, it may also provoke renewed attention from law enforcement as an illegal competitor to the U.S. dollar or as a vehicle for money laundering, especially if it continues to be used predominantly on the Internet’s fringes.

- It would be hard to get 51% of miners on board.
Why or why wouldn't something like this work? You'ld actually need more than 51% because with 49% continuing work and already 5 ahead, it will take a long time for this 51% to at least even catch up to the 49%. Also, the miners are going to want money in advance, from coins already sent to them and confirmed before the fork. Or payment some other method. Even then, if the endeavor fails, who is responsible.

Your argument we have to waste our time on these newbie threads for a while before we can get to the "big boiii" threads.
You can go to the other thread, you just can't post there yet. There's a difference. For exceptions, there is a whitelist request thread. If you can show that you've helped others here, have been constructive in some manner, or have a specific need then often that will help towards gaining post access to the forums. - http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=15911.0

When Bitcoin is mainly used to by magazine subscriptions and transfer money to places PayPal would never go, it will grow uninhibited -- even if there's a little use for silk road and whatever else happens.
When Bitcoin is the currency mainly used for drugs, guns and ponzi schemes, there will likely be a regulatory response perhaps mandating that no person or business can accept digital currency without full AML/KYC (i.e.., get a copy of the ID from ever customer that pays you, store the info and transaction records for 5 years, etc.)
that future is only a swipe of the pen away. I'ld like to keep it that way.

If I had a valid eBay account I'ld report it. Since you must have an active eBay account to report these, I'm unable to do so.
I'm not willing to sign up to eBay just to help prevent some scam from occurring.
I'ld rather not see these though. It sullies Bitcoin, but what do you do?
Scammers gonna scam.
