Holding Bitcoins for some periods and then sell it and make profit, that's could working well if you re really patient and include some risk too, we can't exactly predict the coming prices as known. But i think after the next halving the bitcoin's prices will increase... I think there is no any risk in bitcoin as holding it, now the price is going to increase with each day and at the time when we will near to halving the price will boost up, so no any risk is there with holding bitcoin. There is a risk of course but its minimal. Bitcoin enthusiast nowadays are keeping bitcoins because they are expecting a price appreciation after the halving. I find it strange how so many bitcoin holders become speculators on the market. But to some extent i agree on their strategy. It may be that bitcoins do not hold any value after 20 years. Bitcoins are not a reliable currency currently and it has been here for very less time compared to other currencies but the future of bitcoin is not predictable. Soon it may be replaced by another currency. That is right. If the bitcoin price does not change more than 1-2% a day, similar to other major currency, then many people will use it. We have to believe on bitcoin, it will survive and for its survival it just need our support if we give strength to it and adopted bitcoin for our normal uses etc then bitcoin will have a good future and will never scam us. Ok but let be clear bitcoin now have very good value and many early adopters are rich now, but for the rest of us this train is gone we can earn with it but not become rich with it. Silver is underpriced but still have and will have more usage over time. Gold is standard, you wont become rich if you buy gold today, probably this value will stay same for ages. Dollar and many other currencies will lose their value, this is different story..
I think that depends on what you call becoming rich. True I don't see many people becoming billionaires off of bitcoin like the early adopters but you could still get a really good return on your investments and this could still improve your lifestyle dramatically. Exactly bitcoin means extra income which can surely contribute to your life style and can improve your standard of living, comparatively best investment product at a moment. If you have 10 bitcoins now, that will be small proportion of your wealth. But in 20 years, it will be a bigger portion. 10 bitcoin isn't enough to make you get big profit even though after 20 years later, than you choose as a holder better you learn how to get profit from trading bitcoin. Well trying making large number of bitcoin. As quoted 10btc won't give you a very big profit after years. Halving is arguable if it's going to be profitable or not. If you sell it fast enough, you'll get a lot of profit. If you don't , well... it will be the same as before.
