Truly 2016 seems to be a value adding year for bitcoin. But if there is no big rise or rise on halving 2016 could be a boring year as indicated by the thread. |

I do not think that it will be boring because of the halving that is coming this year for sure.
There is a good chance that the bitcoin is gonna rise to a high amount for sure, so that is even good.

Truly 2016 seems to be a value adding year for bitcoin. But if there is no big rise or rise on halving 2016 could be a boring year as indicated by the thread. If boring for a lot people means the price being quite stable, then I don't mind it at all. But I am fairly sure the month before and months after the block halving will be full of volatility. |

If boring for a lot people means the price being quite stable, then I don't mind it at all. But I am fairly sure the month before and months after the block halving will be full of volatility. I mine, hold and use the coins. If the price is stable, I know how much my coin is worth in the next few days. |

It is not the best time indeed that you can have for Bitcoin and that is the problem because the value is not high now so you also cant sell it and that is not that best for the most people.
But maybe it would be more worth in the next year but it is hard to know that from before and that is also risky.
yeah it seems to be boring because the price is not increasing to the level we expected but iam sure that within few months this can reach good levels and provide better profits at halving period. |

I believe that 2016 is going to be good year instead of a boring year. The halving is definitely not boring at all because this can attract so much people. The price is low and many people want to buy so Bitcoin is then pretty active.

2016 will be boring year for bitcoin??Lol no everyyear is very fun with bitcoin because it is so popular cryptocurrency and I love it  I think 2016 is going to be more interesting than 2009-2012, but it won't be as interesting as the previous years. Maybe a few market movements, but I don't expect much excitement within the market this year. As long as you are positive about it though, then you're having all the fun you need. Bitcoin will have indeed not the best year this year and that is because Bitcoin is not event that high now so that is quite bad for the most people. But the most are hoping that it would be next year more value so they can also sell it and that would be great for them. |

The hype has started dying down, USD exchanges are dominated by Chinese onesinvestments are getting back to 2013 levels and the supposedly interesting bitcoin-related projects of 2015 didn't have a positive impact to adoption or the market.   well you can say that it is boring, but it will be goo for bitcoin anyway, opening of open bazaar, steam accepts bitcoins now, and of course halving, these things are very good for bitcoin maybe it is boring for bitcoin traders, but for people that keeps bitcoins and plans to sell them for more later are happy for it, because they will get lots of profit |

Why do people think the halving will magically cause the price to double? Doesn't make sense to me. Personally, I think the opposite might happen - a halvening of the BTC price, haha. And possibly some major mining operations suddenly becoming quite unprofitable, adding further fuel to the fire.

You can't judgement about this year very soon, now it is start of the year, you know halving is coming in this year, it is a big event of bitcoin.
you also know that every new things need some time so same situation with bitcoin, may be in this year, new businessman and investors coming up in bitcoin.
