i just need an ip... but i understand that bitcointalk wont get involve...to stay neutral to bad those people get away with it...i just lost 1.4btc he will be back for more till we get him.... As John already stated, getting the IP is very unlikely. Scams aren't moderated to avoid abuse thus providing an IP without a court order would be both against forum policy and would violate privacy. Nothing stops you from trying, maybe your case is special in some way.

So it's best to ban spammers but not scammers?
The forum policy is not to moderate scams and let the community police itself. That's what the Trust system was meant for. Spam is obvious, scams are subjective and moderating supposed "scams" can lead to serious censorship by mods/staff. That's what we need to avoid.

Sounds like a system is flawed to me. If you cross paths with the wrong person or persons they can ruin your rep.. Then you have to go looking for others to make it right by making them trust you. Sounds like a hassle and needs a tweak or two so people don't abuse the system.
Every system is flawed, however, you misunderstood what Trust the trust system is made for. It means you should only pay attention to the people you "trust" (hence the name). That's what the Trusted and Untrusted feedback, the "Trust list" in the Trust settings and the notice bellow the Untrusted feedback, which goes like this: Untrusted feedback
These ratings are from people who are not in your trust network. They may be totally inaccurate. is meant for. Trust is not Reputation. It's meant to highlight the Reputation you trust.

Is the limit 3000 posts or 2.4 btc, btw? Since Hero members for instance can get up to 3.6 btc for 3000 posts. PrimeDice current limit is 2.4 BTC. That is very generous imo, and I've never tried to get close to the limit. I also find the rates to be good and haven't tried to hit the max limit of posts. I would rather see people enjoying this service instead of trying to pull as much coin as possible out of it. These are good time indeed. I think 300 or maybe 350 is the most posts that I have made over a month. Have never even come close to 1BTC let alone 2.4. Would be nice, but that would be like making this forum a full time job, with the amount of time that would take. Some, in fact, try to make this their job. We and most people around the world called the majority of them spammers.

I do believe the factoid I just saw applies here: That sums it up, really, and it makes sense - help the forums out and you might become a moderator so you can help out even more. A good place is the "Beginners and Help Forum". Scammers will post there hoping the catch the inexperienced and naive users. Scams (or what seems like a scam) are not moderator. That's what the Trust system and human intelligence was made for. Vod probably is talking about things more along the lines of this (I'm purposely linking to a moved ghost thread): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=585616.0That's spam, not scam you are linking to. Ref spam to be precise. I actually reported it since it falls out of my jurisdiction.

Giveaways not allowed.
Ban.
It's offsite (no posting here, in the forum, required) thus it's allowed. Many newbies don't read the rules, nor the first post though.

so anyone has been banned for posting useless comment ? When exactly will you distribut the giveaway coin ? can we have the result of what people will get through the giveaway (and how many applied) (and so far I didn't receive anything... )
Over a dozen for sure and counting. This thread is currently one of the fastest growing ones in the altcoin announcements thus causing the most spam.

The Trust system isn't moderatable. Neither BadBear, nor the admin or any other mod will remove the feedback. This has been stated by theymos many times already.

Bitcoin isn't considered currency thus all "casinos" are as real as those seen in some MMOs, according to law.
Are you entirely sure? I didn't think it would've worked that way, to be honest. Quite interesting. In most countries, BTC is still regarded like any game currency. In US, it was only recently declared as property. That doesn't change much regarding casinos with BTC I think.

Ritz is paying like 50 cents per post!
BR, Gondel
He's paying for total posts, not posts per month.

Activity as in the activity points we all have or based on how active you are on the forum (time logged in and dealing with reports etc)?
I'm pretty sure it's something like that - it'd make sense. Again, I'm pretty sure the algorithm isn't posted in public - else mprep might be able to abuse it and get some quick cash jokes <3. On-topic though, yeah, it's probably a mixture of time & reports & other things if I was to make a guess. The algorithm is a secret. In my opinion, it's good it is: more honesty in a mods work this way. Edit: Posted while I was about to post my response: Yeah theymos mentioned it's a secret algo haha. I guess it makes it fairer to pay by actual work or contributions done.

Are mods paid or they are volunteer ?
*BitcoinDream had his dreams shattered as he realised that by pestering theymos and becoming a moderator he would not be able to get free bitcoins* I think one of the criterias to become a moderator was to not ask how to become one. Not really sure, but I think I read it somewhere.

Due to the amount of spam which is beginning to cause trouble particularly in this thread I have to put this out:
Warning to all posting in this thread or any other, especially alternate cryptocurrency, thread: Anyone posting in this thread or any other thread useless replies, such as "to the moon", "color the moon", "I like this coin", "Very good", "Done", "Waiting" etc. has a risk of getting their account banned. The thread owner has already stated not to post addresses. You have been warned.

Are mods paid or they are volunteer ? The forum sells ad space in the area beneath the first post of every topic page. About 25% of ad income goes to the forum moderators as thanks for all of their work. (There are many moderators, so each moderator gets only a small amount -- moderators should be seen as volunteers, not employees.) Probably we get paid less than your signature deal. Most, in fact, get much less than many active people from sig deals get. The payment is meant to be as a thank you for the work moderators do, not a salary.

Nice one can get banned for one week for trolling. Does it apply to spamming as well?
Yes, it applies to spamming as well. Spamming advertisements usually gives you a perma ban, while some other forms have a smaller penalty. Multiple counts of any type of spamming usually ends up in a perma ban anyway.

Has something been upgraded or something? I haven't noticed anything.
The servers are faster probably due to the decreased load/traffic on Easter. Not all people want to spend their holidays on the forums.

Some of it in banks, for quick spending, many put most of their cash in precious metals, mostly in gold. Stocks of various companies is also an often used method to distribute the wealth. Maybe some of them invested a couple of ten thousands of dollars in Bitcoin.
