Maybe also consider what altcoins you are buying because lots of coins in the market are not legit, developers have a good start but if they see it's not working, they'll leave and maybe make a new one. If the altcoins you are holding still has a decent volume or in a decent exchange, maybe it has a chance even if you buy it during its peak.

Honestly IMO, that passion in gambling is very risky, if a gambler consider gambling as his passion, he might be having some benefits doing it, either he is entertain, or he make money from it, or even both. It's only few of the total gamblers makes gambling as their passion as most of us are losers that sometimes we just failed to see and accept it.

Altcoins are late bloomer as always, they'll probably have their time in the 3rd or 4th quarter of this year as I believe this year would not end that we will not witness altcoins having their own bull run. Maybe I'm just too optimistic but I'm basing on the old trend and I'm seeing that possibility this year.

I'd take it now if I like to make profit in short term, the trend says it's rising and this will happen because bitcoin is also very bullish.
If we have to choose the best altcoin to invest from this time, I'd say LTC is a great choice, look at how it moved, it certainly consistently going up, it's slowly but moving surely.
