526  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New to Mining on: September 03, 2014, 11:50:50 AM
Hi, everyone. I hope I'm putting this in the right place. I never was one for forums, but I've become utterly fascinated with the idea of crypto currency, and I thought I'd try my hand at mining. The problem is, despite my rig being built for (at the time) higher-performance gaming, I'm not generating much in the way of hashrate. I posted in an old GTX 660 thread here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=164599.0), but I thought I'd post a topic in the mining forum directly to get my feet wet.

My current setup is a Core i7 860 Win 7 x64 rig, running 4gb DDR3 with an EVGA GTX 660 Superclocked, and currently only generating about 80 average hash/s running tsiv's ccminer/CUDAminer... thing. I'm not really tech-savvy, but I know it's not an ideal setup especially since the barrier to entry for BTC and LTC is in ASIC territory now. I'm trying to save for a new rig (or just some better GPUs, got slots I'm not using right now), and I'd love some advice if you have it to give.

tl;dr: New miner, what do?

And glad to be here.

You should go mine Monero is CPU and GPU mineable, here is thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.0 , there is all you need to know or just go to their IRC and ask
527  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 6 things bitcoin introduced to us on: September 03, 2014, 11:47:39 AM
Just a bit of research here. What are the things that bitcoin introduced us to? Is there any?

I suggest you to go read white paper. All changed a bit, but basically is still the same.
528  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do with one full bitcoin? on: September 03, 2014, 11:46:16 AM
I have one full bitcoin. What form of investment would be available for this amount and what are the risks involve?

You can buy physical bit coin and wear it as necklace around your neck. It will be expensive necklace soon.

Who controls the Bitcoin software?

You do.

Simplest answer. There is no one entity or 'board of directors' as it's a decnetralised currency and that's one of the main reasons that makes it great. Please do some more reading about it and you'll soon see it's many benefits and how it isn't run or owned by anyone other than the people who use it.

Yes if you will not be cautious enough your bit coins might get stolen. But i think that dont really happen that often, then you get felling when reading this forums.
530  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any good Bitcoin earning games? on: September 03, 2014, 11:40:31 AM
Well this sounds like you're expecting to get bitcoin from playing a game. Where do you think are those bitcoin coming from? Someone has to provide them first, and given they're still worth quite a lot, don't expect people to give you money for nothing!

games are made that way. Some people want to keep at rank.1, so they spend real money for it. others can sell what they make there for real money, there are millions such games now-day on net. but most trade for euros.
531  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto - The Creator of BTC on: September 03, 2014, 10:41:42 AM
Hey , please don't mind my stupid questions , but let's make it as Discussion thread
I know that the creator of the cryptoo currency BTC is Satochi Nakamoto , but is it true that he is Japonaise ? and anyone here knows him ? I mean the staff .
Iam not sure but I heard he was the creator of this forum also , so ...  Roll Eyes

HE is not from Japan, but from Europe most possibly from Germany or really close.

Really? I thought people didn't have a clue about his origins.

He was online, interact with people. People from different parts of world have different habits. HE was always talking about euro, never of YEN or USD, or CYN or whatever, so his fiat was euro, he also used in some sentences, capital letters at ( well my English is not good) In Germany use that.

Where he lived is i think clear, but here leave 100 million people so no you cant really find him Tongue

533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dr. Coin's NEWS, DISCUSSION, AND ADVICE on: September 02, 2014, 10:54:12 PM
Hi!
Dr. Coin here. I am an active trader and crypto enthusiast who enjoys discussing, learning, and informing others in the crypto world.
Feel free to use this topic to express your opinions, thoughts, or questions here.

So, anyone have their eyes on new coins out, or questions about any currents ones?

I currently have my sights on AERO, VRC, GB, and URO. I am also a fan of LXC, but it is certainly a more risky investment. Thoughts on these?

If anyone wants to keep up with news: https://twitter.com/DrCoinMD

Happy trading! Smiley

What new things those 5 coins bring in to world of crypto currencies. which niche they will fill?

1. It's hard to tell which niche they will all fill. From a trading perspective in the crypto world sometimes it is worth disregarding that and playing the community, riding the waves for profit. But I definitely recommend looking into LXC and their mobile wallet, as well as AERO and their aeroME feature. The aeroME feature is trying to better the actual market-place for buying and selling assets with Aerocoins already.

2. MacDuro: Be careful on Gun as the community is questionable. Nxt is a no brainer and has been for a while. Quark too has been known for a bit. Some good picks there, not super current though.

3. Lastly, ggc1ose I recommend checking out Bittrex and Cryptsy

Hmm so LXC. Could be.

535  Economy / Economics / Re: how many bitcoins do you have currently. on: September 02, 2014, 09:05:24 PM
as recently down price  how many  bitcoins do you have currently?  do you worry about the   crash of bitcoin.

I'm so worried about the "crash" that I'm thinking about buying more.

crashes are always perfect for hoarding more
536  Economy / Economics / Re: 11 countries close to bankruptcy....... on: September 02, 2014, 09:03:51 PM
It is simple you cant live over your possibilities. Once country reach that they need to work half year to just pay off their old debts, they have to think what they do a lot. Their children's will have to pay interests on their easy life now. Unless they will decide to leave your in debt country and go live somewhere where today dont live over their possibilities.
537  Economy / Economics / Re: The best way to invest Bitcoin? on: September 02, 2014, 09:00:19 PM
Best is to research market and buy some nice altcoins that will bust in a bubble in few weeks Smiley You will be rich in no time at all.
