521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Rx590 selecting MOBO on: February 18, 2021, 11:59:51 AM
Is it possible for a AMD gpu to be selecting motherboard to work with? I have a crazy AMD gpu here that refused to work in three different motherboards and only works in one old AMD motherboard, the card is ASUS RX590, crazy but true
first the use eraser on all pcie gpu pin, or teardown the gpu and soak gpu board on detergent around 1hr and try clean it with brush, dry it, put on heater or dry in the sun

if nothing work, use steam solder, re-hot the board at 350C temperature
522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Eth on Xbox Series X or Series S. on: February 18, 2021, 11:48:31 AM
its should be awesome if these console can mine eth its pretty decent hardware, and already activated amd smart memory,
while rx6800 can do 84 mhs on 256bit memory with more compute core, xbox should got decent number if dev can deploy some miner, and most likely it wont happen before they pass jailbreak and put homebrew to install linux
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Mem Tweak XL - Read/modify timings/pp/straps on the fly on: February 18, 2021, 11:28:37 AM

Your Core and Memory Control are way out of desired values. Try P7 1150/850 and P3 940/825 first, than try to play with timings.

EDIT: Huh, also decrease temp limits or upper fan curve keeping memory temp in 60-65 degrees range.

Wow, the P7 and P3 settings pushed it to 42 MH/s! Thanks a lot!

I have no idea what to try in timings, as i dont understand the technical background. Any suggestions?

42...

Non modded vega56 on mmpos....53.19mhs core 1090 / mem 1020 / vlt 0.835  130watts.
should be 54.9mhs 1100/1026@787mv @ 112watts ...
sadly all my gpus cannot under 856mv and maxout at 50.5 lol, with ambient room temperature at 33C,  quite warm, some gpus already burned componen because fan short

atleast pretty stable, the most stable gpus i ever had

524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buy more GPU miners, or just keep the cash, I don't know....... on: February 17, 2021, 12:41:44 PM
nothing go wrong buying new card for fair price rather than buying coin at this peak of crypto, and most likely eth mining still profitable to the next 6-12months

before gpus out of stock better to buy when had a chance, then you can go sleep well while your gpus make money for you
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can't get all GPU's to work with Risers on: February 17, 2021, 12:36:50 PM
Here's my current setup:

PC
EVGA 850w G3
Asus ROG Strix Z370-E MOBO (16GB /  i5 8400)

OS
HiveOS Linux (latest version with latest nvidia drivers) using ethermine

GPU's
Zotac Twin Edge3070
EVGA 3070 XC3 3070
Asus ROG Strix OC 3070
MSI Ventus 2x OC 3070

I can only get the Zotac and the MSI to work with the risers. When I connect the Asus and EVGA cards with the risers they are not detected by HiveOS. I've tried the following:

- Downloaded latest BIOS for motherboard
- Ensured 4G, VtD, Gen2 are all enabled in BIOS
- Downloaded latest HiveOS and Nvidia driver updates
- Switched around PCIE slots

Any suggestions on how I can get all four GPU's to work with the risers? I got the latest risers from www.gpurisers.com and connected via 4-pin molex.
try using pcie riser 009s for best stability and there is indicator for 3.3v and 12v easy to monitor if riser getting bad and need to replace
and try with windows 10 just for testing anything works and easy to troubleshouting
526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Stupid mistake on: February 17, 2021, 12:32:10 PM
A pic ? How can you made such an error ? 0_o
I wasn't in my best mood when building the rigs, I was so tired but couldn't postpone the building of the rig, here is what happened, I turned the riser upside down, very stupid of me

Look at that, very silly and stupid of me
well thats was something unexpected to see this day, bad luck happen, cant rewind the situation, try to fix the gpu by using steam solder, even most likely wont fix it

so prefent in the future this mistake wont happen again, change the motherboard use with full pcie express, minimise put wrong slot
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How do you find good low difficulty coins to mine? on: February 16, 2021, 01:04:50 PM
A question for you people with a GPU mining rig out there, how do you find low difficulty coins to mine which have potential to rise from $0.005 to $0.25 for example.

I don't want you to spoon feed me I just mean as in what do you analyze to determine what's a total scam or if the coin has future potential.
Better mine eth and the profit buy cheap coin, rather than pain config each different algo for looking those coin, there is rarely happen you can mine some gem in this day, remind me pascal coin that blow on poloniex
528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080ti still a good buy in 2021? on: February 16, 2021, 01:01:50 PM
Someone is offering to sell me 10x gtx1080ti here at 200$ per card, is this a good buy? Those cards are used and I'm suspecting it's been used for mining too, I mean who would buy 10x gtx1080ti for gaming or video editing ?
200$ for 1080 ti watch out if the gpus defect one, its very cheap, or try testing with unigine heaven & ryse son of rome for searching artifact, and burn test for 10 minutes, if this good, that was fantastic deal
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gpu memory error on: February 16, 2021, 12:58:41 PM
Help! I'm getting gpu memory error when mining Ethereum this morning, I work well all night long but the memory error keeps showing up non stop, have anyone experienced such before pls tell me how to fix
what gpu are you use, assuming polaris here if overclocked memory to much or using bios mod this will happen, try tuning with base bios with memory timing, try lowering memory speed and watch for stability for 24hrs,
530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Elon Musk's Tweets... on: February 15, 2021, 10:59:59 AM
well meme internet become "things" right now not only doge, many developer on gaming industry use this to gain more attraction....joke is best way for easy marketing in every ppl

and elon most likely want advertise crypto industry by jokes to easy adopted by most of ppl, even they got profit on that lol  Grin
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: People paying $1200 for 1 Ethereum are crazy... You only get rich buying CHEAP on: February 15, 2021, 10:52:22 AM
So I made x30 with Verge and Tron. Also made x20 with some other coins. I like to buy cheap and sell for a great price and I made a little fortune in only a few months.

Now I look at ETH. Its very high. Why people would buy it now? Before you ever make a dollar all the people that bought ETH for $5, $10 or even $0.25 will cash out their thousands of ETH. Its a classic pyramid scheme.

Is there any alternatives to ETH that are still cheap today? I really like Metaverse and its very, very cheap. They just hired more programmers too and are stepping up their game, so it might get really big. Is there any others than Metaverse that could be the next Neo or ETH?

Neo is not that bad at $150 even because I think it might grow as huge as ETH is now, so meaning it would get maybe to $1000. Thats not a huge profit if it works out, its *8. But its better than buying ETH at least.

Anyway.

Any good alternatives to NEO and ETH that are still cheap like Metaverse (its at 100m market cap)?

Can be from china or japan or any other country... THANKS!

you're really wrong judging coin by their price, look at total market cap not the price lol, isnt classic pyramid scheme, eth isnt defi, eth is world computer support by hundreds thousand of miners

the biggest network beside btc, ppl who buy this because eth can drive such large money & big liqudity, not like shitcoin p&d

that ppl who bought eth at 0.5$ already sold their coin, at first eth came out i sold everyday mined eth at 1-2$ lol
532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Whats the best coin to mine GPU other than Eth on: February 15, 2021, 10:47:43 AM
Like the tittle says, wondering
Whats the best coin to mine GPU other than Ethereum and why??
that depend on your gpus, most profitable for longterm mining algo thats using heavily on memory, like ethash & progpow to avoid fpga and asic

progpow alternative beside ethash but the most progpow coin has low cap cannot drive many gpus or miners
533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH network hashrate going to the moon!!!! on: February 14, 2021, 06:48:42 AM
every device mining eth right now, new asic, new gpus, laptop or even console gaming, gold rush mining became trending again after bitcoin & doge take hit wallstreet high profile and some artist

gladly many gpus already out of stock, and we need new algo coin before to late
534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Have anyone use this motherboard before on: February 14, 2021, 06:45:17 AM
Anyone here using this motherboard? I want to know the actual CPU that's inside the motherboard and how many watts the motherboard or the CPU is drawing, anybody?

I believe it will be better than buying risers to power 4 GPUs
its nice simple without needed riser and can fit with server case using blower fan gpu model should be fine

but i heard some these motherboard doesnt last for long...and there is biostar model like this should try one but rarely to find
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 4 x 3060ti build on: February 13, 2021, 10:14:10 AM
Hi all,

Have been mining way recently on my 1070 which I have owned for the last four years and usually sits most dormant in my PC (other than playing dota Wink)  Have recently taken to mining ETH with this again and have been enjoying doing so.  I've never gone hard on this previously, but decided to build a "small" mining rig (4 x 3060TIs).  I wondered if anyone could suggest what I might need?

Struggling most with the motherboard currently, any time I go to any of the online stores, they seem to have hundreds to choose from.  When I google a suitable motherboard for mining, I always seem to get motherboardds for 6 - 20 cards.  And often can't find these anyway.

Possible parts:
PSU - Corsair 1000W - https://www.umart.com.au/Corsair-RM1000x-1000W-Power-Supply-Fully-Modular-80-Plus-Gold_33434G.html
Seems to have enough 8 pin for the 3060 and 6 pin for the risers (that i'll also need).

Mobo - ?
CPU - any cheap one compatable with Mobo I assume
Ram - 4gb of cheap stuff
ssd - 64gb just to power windows?

Could anyone make a suggestion please of what parts to pair with the four 3060TIs? Am I missing anything? And is anyone replying happy to receive a DM with further questions?

Thanks guys
dryath
mobo gigabyte b250 fintech 12 gpus
psu antec high current pro platinum 1000w
cpu intel g4400
ram 8gb recomended
ssd 128 recomended, well i want 3060 ti but there is out of stock in all market at the moment, waiting rtx 3060 should grab at first day
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Tahiti GPUs (Radeon 7950 / 7970 / 280X / 7990 ) Owners Appreciation Thread on: February 13, 2021, 10:04:24 AM
tahiti is my first gpu on mining they simple just flash bios mod and viola no other overclock software, and pretty stable, easy to config

they strong, but bigger card compared newer amd gpus, polaris gpus are bad many my gpus already died except 8gbs, now vegas is my strongest gpu i ever had

component burn & smoked because short circuit in fan, but gpu still alive only replace the fan lol almost 4 years still mining no problem
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: VPN on mining pool on: February 12, 2021, 08:36:31 AM
This question I'm about to ask may sound annoying to the ear, if that's the case pls pardon me, is it possible to use VPN on mining pool just to get better speed and less rejected shares? The pool I'm using supports for example USA so if I use VPN and my location change to USA will this increase performance?
dont use vpn for mining and hoping better shares, try join on pool with biggest percentage of network & closest server, eu pool are good on ethermine

but i still chose the closest one, you wont see big diffence as stil same pool even different server, the crowded more shares are given
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 3090 Hash Rates & Settings on: February 12, 2021, 08:29:42 AM
well just curious thats big cooler on rt 3090, mining eth at 300w on single card dang thats pretty hot same as radeon VII the amount of heat dissipation at the peak

it will burned the pcie 8pin if not carefully joined, especially antec has weak pcie cable
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Just a curiosity on: February 11, 2021, 06:26:20 AM
What will happen to Ethereum proof of work if asic miners are banished? Will the mining profitability reduce marginally or it won't affect the ROI? Are higher Hashrates better or not? Wil it affect Ethereum value ?
yeah definetly if asic cannot mine eth again we should got profit like bullrun 2017 the hashrate will go down drastically, there are already lot of new asic on eth network, yet not released on public sale

the network increased every week, manufactured really bussy 24/7 produce and deploy they rigs
540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: egpu for mining on: February 11, 2021, 06:19:52 AM
Is there anyway to get egpu to mine? I heard they haven't appreciate in value compare to discrete graphic cards and some comes with RTX3080 in them, I'm thinking this can be a good way to get gpu at fixed or cheap price, what do you say?
yes you can if already had, but dont buy it for mining on laptop, to expensive, buy normal pc for mining instead

if raspberry pi can use egpu should be awesome i think compared laptop
