524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs in this year less rewarding than the ones held in the last year? on: May 30, 2017, 02:36:24 PM
In the last year, the big ICOs were basically no-brainers. While in this year, big ICOs are flooding the crypto-market, and a lot of ICOs ended up with lower ICO price in the first few weeks or so. It seems that the meta has changed, right?

The vast majority of ICOs have performed worse than ETH, meaning you were better off holding ETH than joining the majority of ICOs. I think the reason you say it was a no brainer is because they performed better than bitcoin, I think this is the weakness of bitcoin from its high marketcap it will continue to move slowly.

ICOs are hit or miss so its obvious successful ones will do better than bitcoin but if u compare them to another success (ETH) its not really a no brainer. I think this trend will continue over the next year, we will see a few big hits and the rest will die or perform relatively poorly.
Make sense, I kind of shifting from storing bitcoin to storing ETH. The BTC dominance is decreasing all the time.

You are right, most ICO projects are much less profitable than last year. Just look at here: https://icostats.com/

Thank you for the info. ICOstats is really a useful website.
526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why Stratis succeeded? on: May 30, 2017, 02:40:33 AM
I have invested in the Stratis project, and get a good profit out of it. Thank you dev of Stratis. But I still don't understand the hype behind this project. Correct me if I am wrong:
Stratis : C# version of Bitcoin
Lisk : Java version of Bitcoin

Stratis ranked #10, but Lisk ranked #26. What makes Stratis better than, say, Lisk?

Sorry, I posted this thread in a wrong place.

532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum due for a price correction on: May 29, 2017, 06:45:50 PM
It might be possible, but it will not hurt the long term value of this project.
533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Honest comparison of IOTA vs Byteball on: May 29, 2017, 06:36:52 PM
If you have to choose go BB of course. Although I am certainly not a fan of their distributional method either.

What is wrong with their distributional method? I really like it.

Both are interesting but I think there will be more DAG based tokens out soon.

Ok but with what differences?

For example, that's like saying Bitcoin is interesting, but Litecoin will be out soon.

It took years for there to be an Ethereum to challenge Bitcoin.

How many years before another DAG crypto is as revolutionary as the differences between ETH and BTC?

I don't want to wait for the LTC of the DAG world.

It seems that both IOTA and BB are advancing quite well and building up strong communities.

I do not believe being a bitcoin whale should entitle you to be a whale in any other project with no risk to your stash of btc.

The initial distribution will be the key difference.

BB is my pick from the 2 but I will never recommend either on the basis of the poor distributional methods.

I'll await and support a fairer DAG project but have read several respected coders do like byteball and what it is capable of.

If people like to support fair projects and get behind them then a new DAG with more acceptable distribution will not take long to catch and exceed both.

Tonych seems a nice enough guy and CFB is a kind of charismatic in his own way. Still i think both will be taken over by another DAG project.

I totally agree with you. The airdrop of byteball is not fair at all. Waiting for another fair distributed DAG coin to come.

Somehow crypto funds coins such as Taas and BCAP are often dumped below the ICO price.
