You can remind her that not all people feel this way. There has always been fear and prejudice, but there has also been light and goodness. Be one of those people, and find others who are secure enough in themselves to love those who are different.

"Commenter 8 minutes ago 0 0 In my opinion , anyone who supports this Bitcoin / Bitcon , should be tried for treason or moved from the US, and any business using this rant as a platform should be ban from doing business in the US. " ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) ... LOL, that is awesome! What would cause someone to hate something so much? Something they clearly have no clue about. Poor guy. Must have a hard life with that attitude.

Without any gov regulation you have no recourse to get your money back, and the exchange has no reason to try. I know many here want zero government involvement. I would be cool with that, but it means that creating a fake exchange is far more cost effective than a legitimate exchange. Without regulation or repercussion, crime does pay. As far as a guarantee of no loss. ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) If you find such a contract please let me know! In my 20+ years of investing I have never heard of such a thing. Well, except for the unholy bank bailout of 2008. Are you suggesting the taxpayers cover your bad bets?

... In the letter he says Berghahl deserted his unit during a shift change...
That's the weird part. Was he deserting? Where would he go? Surely he knew that he could not get out of the country on his own. I wonder if he had some kind of breakdown or psychotic episode that inspired him to leave base. It was a crazy move. His intention was clear before "vanishing". His father gave him the push when replying (in all cap) "obey your conscious" like it is said in the NY Post article. I hear what your saying and you may be right, but why not leave active service? He could have easily asked the Army for conscientious objector status. But trying to walk home, if that was his intention, is suicide.

According to official sources, the ultimate and final ban(exchanges shutdown...) is about to follow in the next few days.
I have not seen this message from any of Chinese BTC forum. Where did you get this information? LOL, don't listen to stuff you hear at these forums. If anyone is seriously still trading base on rumors in the bitcoin community then you deserve to be panicked out of your "investment".

When someone is killed with a hammer ...
I think that guns cause people to just grab the gun and kill other people with it very easily, maybe if they didn't have acces to a gun so easily they wouldve just jumped infront of the train. ... I don't think so that If he couldn't buy a gun he would just of killed himself by just jumping in front of the train.. .. Ofcourse people who are really crazy and want to kill alot of people... Yes but what I wanted to say in conclusion... Interesting discussion. I think thous of us who were raised around guns our whole life do not see the gun as anything special. People I know who were grew up in cities only hear about guns in association with violence and think of guns as having some kind of power over the user. For example "I think that guns cause people to just grab the gun and kill other people..." or "we were fighting and the gun went off". (The latter is what people guilty of murder say in court.) If you and all your friends have guns growing up, then you think more about the actions of the shooter and what he/she did wrong. The gun did not make all this pain happen. The gun was deliberately loaded, chambered, aimed and fired by a person who chose to do that. It is that persons fault and they should pay for it. My understanding is that this particular shooter first killed three people with a knife. So where is the knife ban? He killed just as many with his knife. But there wont be a knife ban simply because we all own knives and it seems like an irrelevant factor. Well, that is what a gun ban looks like to us who also own guns. A distraction from the actions of the killer.

Bitcoin is not regulated by law, It's a toy.
If people are willing to accept bitcoin and/or other cryptos for their goods and services, who cares it's not regulated? It will be used regardless. Just look at the history of money: a lot of things were used as money in the past. impossible "impossible" seems a bit strong for something that is already happening. Whatever our opinions are here, it is money right now and it is being used more every day.

Looks like a case study in Stockholm syndrome. And remember, Dad is playing a game with the Taliban. He just want's his son back and if that means letting the Taliban think they are winning hearts and minds, so be it. That doesn't make Sgt. Bergdahl a traitor. Most of us would crack after years of captivity.

As this economy expands I am less likely to attribute price swings to manipulation. It would be very difficult, expensive and risky to do. Not that it's impossible, but human nature is such that people like to believe someone is behind dramatic events. People used to think that the weather, good and bad events, even the movements of stars were governed by conscious beings. When we finally tested these assumptions methodically they were shown to be fallacious. We would need to do that sort of analysis at the exchanges as well. It would be quite difficult however, There is a lot that is hidden in bitcoin.

I still use them, but I did spend more at first because there were some things I had been waiting to buy with bitcoin.

When someone is killed with a hammer no one wants a hammer ban. Yet if it's a gun, then the gun must be at fault. Perhaps it gives people a sense of control to blame a gun rather than face the fact that psychopathic monsters walk among us. If this nut had no access to guns he would have run his victims over with a car or something. Murder is a common and widespread human behavior. Guns have nothing to do with that. There will always be such people and the best we can do is help them when we can, and help ourselves when we fail.

Well, you should do so now, since we are having a 0% Fee promotion right now, until the start of June. I'll check it out. In retrospect, it looks like you guys did just launch on the right date. And with all those currencies, you must be capturing some unmet demand in the market. Nice Job!

I'm sure he would not want me to say his name. But I can think of someone who's mine I have visited. At the time BTC were maybe a few bucks, and he was holding something like 30,000BTC. I think he now lives in a secret compound on the moon. I guess a true BTC millionaire would have a million bitcoins. I don't know anyone like that.

I am afraid they probably use the some market volume for all fiat currency almost similarly as mtGox did. Can anybody confirm or explain?
That would make sense. I'm not accusing anyone of anything, but it looks strange to me. Maybe they just got lucky with the launch date of these currencies. What is going on there? ANX here. I'll ask and get an answer to you ASAP. Oh, hey thanks! It looks like a well thought out site. Perhaps a good place to do arbitrage?

So Satoshi is a group of people you have never met, but you have determined "he" is in prison? If you let me know which prison I will go there and confirm this.

I would say that it does not need regulation. But since it involves commerce, it will have regulation.

Are you ready to have school buses bombed for ransom? Dark cryptocurrencies would make this so easy any Virginia Tech freshman could do it.
I fear this will happen at some point. We already have ransomware with the cryptolocker code. Why not demand money for protection? It has been done for centuries/millennia. It's one of the unsolved problems, like assassination markets. I wish it were not so, but if an event like this happens it may be the end of legal use in the US.
