5241  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $400,000 Says Investing Guru Mark Yusko on: January 23, 2019, 07:50:03 PM
i don't know but i'm very disappointed in this market. in the year 2018 i lost all my money

How did you lose all of your "money" ? If you bought bitcoin then and
still hold them now you didnt lose.

Its hard to know how anyone could predict a future price of bitcoin,
it is easy to oick a number and run with it though.
5242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC - The unbeaten King on: January 23, 2019, 07:08:43 AM
Bitcoin will always be number 1 even when uts market share falls. There is
belief in bitcoin and in a lot of alts there is a lot of hope.

What I like about the graphic is that two other alts in the last 5 years have
been in the top 10, Litecoin and Ripple.
5243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been able to resist? on: January 22, 2019, 10:25:57 PM
I won't tell the past of my gambling story, right now yes I'm now able to resist and I still gamble but I never let gambling consume me. I know myself best and what I can do if I losses my control.

It's okay to play and bet with the amount that you afford to lose but don't just go behind the line or cross the fence of your limitation. That's the start of letting gambling consume you, it's okay to have fun and earn a bit with gambling but just know yourself better and have a limitation.

Yes i like the attitude.
I think you have strong will power to be able to still partake in gambling
and at the same time to be able to say enough is enough and walk away
to re-enter at a later time rather than chasing losses or trying to ride a lucky spell.
That takes a lot of effort.
5244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 mens Australian Open (tennis) betting odds on: January 22, 2019, 10:20:26 PM
Just watched the highlights of bautista Agut V Tsitsipas what a 4 setter!
It may be worth a long shot to put a bet on him beating Nadal.
He has talent and a really confident positive attitude.
5245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I hate all forms of Altcoin and possibly hate cryptocurrency on: January 22, 2019, 09:31:32 PM
People place too much emphasis on alt coins in an effort to earn big
gains quickly. They see the likes of the longer established crypto as
"too expensive" and opt for cheap alts so they can hold vast amounts
in the hope they pump and release big wealth.

It has been posted before that bitcoin market share has been diluted
by too many scam alts when all this time Bitcoin has been the one
which we should be concentrating on.

In the case of EOS, cant you send them to Binance to convert them to
new EOS? Check here > https://www.reddit.com/r/eos/comments/8ok3i9/how_to_swap_eos_token_after_1_june/
5246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: More than 80% of ICO's launched in 2017/8 Were Scams, STO's are the next step. on: January 22, 2019, 09:17:28 PM
I am skeptical.

Im sure there will be proper viable projects funded by STO's but I think
there will be plenty of scammers out there who will use it as another
weapon to relieve people of their funds.

I got a bit burned with some ICO's but i feel relieved and privileged that
bitcoin and some established alts have remained strong for me so I
wi continue to believe in those.
5247  Economy / Economics / Re: More than USD 1.5 bln has been stolen from exchanges. Here’s a recap on: January 22, 2019, 08:26:11 PM
I havent been affected by any of these hacks because i dont keep any
significant amounts of anything on exchanges although i do have the
dregs of some shitcoins.

We should be mindfull of putting too much trust in exchanges to create
enough security for our coins and tokens.
5248  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin stimulus 2019 on: January 22, 2019, 07:22:29 PM
..............And without stimulus it will probably not move.

I also disagree with this line and the general thinking of the OP. We
have seen on occasions the markets move for no known reason. I have
seen many supposedly stimuli events in 2017 which resulted in the
markets moving in the opposite direction to the desired one.

If there is a stimulus it may not affect the market immediately. For
traders there is a saying which can be applied to any sort of event
or stimulus, "buy the hype, sell the news"

I cannot see any one "realistic" thing which would affect the crypto
space which would stimulate the markets into a massive rise, it will
be a number of events over a space of time which will result in the
desired affect.

Example of unrealistic events:

The return of Satoshi
Global acceptance of Bitcoin as legal tender
The U.S and China to ditch the Dollar and Yuan in favour of Bitcoin
Bitcoin price falls to $10
5249  Economy / Speculation / Re: The point of no return on: January 22, 2019, 12:36:30 PM
At which price do you think bitcoin will not be able to recover from? There is strong support at $3500 but is now at risk of being breached.

Is $3000 the low point after which there is limited chances of it returning to the glory days?

Bitcoin can recover from any value. Theoretically the lower the value goes
the quicker it would recover or at least stabilise (temporarily).

We can asume as the value drops there will be bigger buy orders generated
which would stabilize the fall in values.
5250  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we headed for a recession? on: January 21, 2019, 09:31:15 PM
I just read today that there are a number of factors which could feed
a recession, trade wars between china and the US, carbon taxes to be
possibly implemented by Canada, slowing global economies particularly
in china and the EU.

I cannot believe this went without any comments so far. Great product
and a very nice material, titanium.

Are you supplying trezor or just an agent for cryptosteel?

5252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you holding a bag of useless illiquid tokens? Like I do? on: January 21, 2019, 02:20:29 PM
ALMOST everyone in crypto has a bag of useless coins and tokens and
they most likely came from ICO's.

I have liquidated almost all of my tokens back into bitcoin and ethereum,
Three reasons for this:

1. I dont have to be worried and stressed looking at the value falling

2. I dont have to spend valuable time watching the market  movements
in order to hopefully catch a pump and dump

3. Bitcoin is the one with far higher odds of giving a return on those
tokens in the long term.
5253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thank you Bitcoin on: January 21, 2019, 07:40:26 AM
Excellent well done to you.

Thanks to Bitcoin and crypto in general i also treated myself and my
family to a christmas holiday back in 2017. It turned out to be a perfect
time to do that.

It is important to have a reward to be able to taste the fruits of all the
hard work.
5254  Economy / Economics / Re: More Countries Continue To Show Support For Blockchain Technology on: January 20, 2019, 10:53:51 PM
Blockchain technology is the future of data processing and management and also interactions between businesses and individuals, more nations would want to key into and support the growth of the blockchain and fintech industries.
The nation with the most favourable and enabling environment would attract more businesses and upstarts.

Not to forget that blockchain technology is contributing to this next
industrial revolution. There are many countries who are promoting
blockchain tech companies. These are countries with progressive
approaches and can see the future benefits which include employment
and in return revenue.

The E.U for example have setup the "european blockchain partnership"
The idea behind the coalition is sumarised as folliws from the link

In the future, all public services will use blockchain technology. Blockchain is a great opportunity for Europe and Member States to rethink their information systems, to promote user trust and the protection of personal data, to help create new business opportunities and to establish new areas of leadership, benefiting citizens, public services and companies. The Partnership launched today enables Member States to work together with the European Commission to turn the enormous potential of blockchain technology into better services for citizens.

5255  Other / Off-topic / Re: A KYC database sold on the Darkweb ? on: January 20, 2019, 06:44:45 PM
This is a lesson for us all.
As soon as we part with our personal information on the web we are
trusting lthers to put sufficient security measures in place to mind it
for us. If those security measures are not good enough there is nothing
we can do, its too late.
5256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been able to resist? on: January 20, 2019, 03:10:44 PM
Its clear from the posts so far that the key is not to take it so seriously,
to be aware of how gambling can become out of control and to be
mindful always of how it can spiral to huge losses.
5257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Have you been able to resist? on: January 20, 2019, 10:22:46 AM
Have you been able to resist the addiction and not let gambling consume you?

Have you been able to control the urge to place that bet, spin that wheel or roll
that dice? For you to be able to go a length of time away from the adrenaline.

Would be interested to hear how people can control this.

5258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: $100 to $10,000 challenge ($3,683.06) on: January 20, 2019, 09:07:12 AM
Interesting thread i have seen similar threads before on the forum by
people trading to increase their initial stake.

The OP is making ground and the bankroll seems to be rising. Looks
like the OP knows his sports and has started with a good strategy.

I will be following this - best of luck
5259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The longer you play poker the better you become ? on: January 20, 2019, 08:51:14 AM
I disagreed with the OP on longer you play poker the better you become, but will state categorically that poker is better when you study the players before taken the move to practice(play). It took me time to study the game of poker before i started playing it on a ground star and on a better note.

Poker is also a sort of luck game although there is some knowledge also required, unlike dice games which are 100% luck based.
Studing the players will also not help much as the players may change thier tactics. You should come up with your own stragegy which may help you in winnig poker.

That strategy is to perfect your persona so that you have a perfect "poker face"
which is a sort of acting.

As mentioned in other posts there are other skills which have to be learned such
as memory and how to read other players mannerisms.

Poker is nor based on luck because you can win with inferior cards.
5260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should invest on ripple or litecoin ? on: January 19, 2019, 03:47:42 PM
Ripple is one of the best coins at the moment. I chose ripple because the coin had a good level of cooperation with the government. this is very unique because not many coins dare to do things like this. Ripple continues to try to approach the government and that is a good step because it can lead to a growing sense of confidence.

Of course, Ripple works well with governments because it is a centralized currency. It is the only currency that can be manipulated as its creators want, and the community can do nothing with it.

The choice is simple, if you want to support banks and a centralized system, then invest in Ripple. If you want to support decentralization, invest in Litecoin.

Thats pretty much it.

I first bought ripple at $0.0058 back in February 2017 and after realising its
centralised technology and all the threads on the forum I sold it around July
2017. I cannot say I havent looked back but I would be realising a healthy
gain with it now.

I dont want to support a crypto which is centralised that is why Litecoin will
continue to be one of my favourite coins along with Bitcoin. Solid technology,
healthy development and continuing support.
