5261  Economy / Gambling / Re: #1 RATINGS of BITCOIN SPORTSBOOKS : poster book discussion on: May 26, 2022, 06:45:10 PM
Hello,

I was made aware of your thread and advised to add it in my Pmalek’s Collection of The Best Gambling Threads and Discussions. But before I do, I wanted to ask you are the ratings adjusted and how often do you make adjustments. Your thread was created in 2014, how often would you say you have made rating changes and other updates to the OP?
5262  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Show off your hardware wallet on: May 26, 2022, 06:37:59 PM
It's Yannick's project on https://www.pitrezor.com and he calls it: PiTrezor
I'd stick to that name. No need to add DIY in front of it as DIY is implied.
I still feel like there should be a clear distinction in the table between a fully operational hardware wallet that you buy, take out of the packaging, and it's ready to be used, and one that you have to build yourself. I don't want someone to see the post and think that's how the HW is supposed to look only to receive a chopped up version of it that needs to be assembled. The next thing on their mind could be: Pmalek, may you burn in hell! I don't want that. Cool
5263  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Show off your hardware wallet on: May 26, 2022, 12:55:52 PM
<Snip>
Very interesting project. I am gonna add it to the table as DIY PiTrezor, unless you think it should be called differently?
I found this neat little explanatory guide that explains how to build one of these devices yourself in case someone is interested. Is that what you used or do you have alternative sources?
5264  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How soon can you send received BTC in nano ledger? on: May 26, 2022, 08:42:08 AM
But if you had no btc balance on nano ledger and just received btc from a gambling site and it shows no confirmations, when can you send btc to another site?
You can't spend coins that you don't have. That's what credit cards are for. Tongue
If you receive 0.5 BTC from someone, it will be yours when it gets its first confirmation. After that, you can spend it. Even if you use a wallet that allows you to generate a new transaction from an unconfirmed one, all those future changes will obviously depend on whether the first transaction is valid or not.
5265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How many confirmations required for btc received to be safe from double spend? on: May 26, 2022, 08:21:11 AM
Okay so when i give someone a new btc address generated by ledger live, the moment i see the transaction show up in latest operations, check to see if replace by fee is used correct?  But how do i check this?  You click on that transaction an look at what exactly?
Click on the transaction details in Ledger Live and see if it mentions RBF enabled or not anywhere. If it doesn't, copy and paste the transaction ID to blockchair explorer. Click on Additional info and it will tell you RBF Enabled - YES or NO.
Here > https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/e2d75ac5ee10425a44bd40c74bd840784057cfc0efcd4214135bd319ce1fe877
Just an example of a random transaction.

So no replace by fee used, then its impossible to reverse?  So 0 confirmations would work for that?  Or not?
For your own safety, don't accept 0-confirmation transactions as final no matter if they are RBF enabled or not. 1-2 confirmations for pocket money, at least 3 for larger transactions.

Well when i send btc to a gambling site, they usually credit my account in a reasonable time.
That's a feature of some gambling sites. They have instant deposits. That means your money gets credited to your account as soon as the transaction is broadcasted (before the first confirmation). But you can't withdraw it until the deposit is confirmed on the blockchain.

How do check if i sent btc with the replace by fee?
I showed you how with the blockchair explorer previously. But it doesn't really matter now. Your past transactions are in the past and what is done is done.

My concern is receiving btc from someone that i haven't established trust with.  Wait so for someone to double spend, does this cost them money?  Read that if someone tries it after a certain amount of time or hours, the more it cost them?  So if you wait for three confirmations, then how safe are you?  How much confirmations to be impossible to reverse?
You are asking the same things again. Wait for the transaction to get 3-6 confirmations. A transaction with 6 confirmations is generally considered as final. End of story. A double-spend doesn't cost any money. A 51% attack would probably cost millions of dollars daily and isn't worth it because you could only affect your own transactions and not random ones from the blockchain.
5266  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can you explain the tutorial of Chip Mixer btc will compensate on: May 26, 2022, 07:35:13 AM
I would recommend that you bookmark the clearnet website - https://chipmixer.com/ and the official ANN thread. Whenever you want to use ChipMixer, access the site from your bookmarks. The link o_e_l_e_o shared above is the correct one for the only working version via the TOR browser.

Never do a Google search on the term "ChipMixer" because the results will lead you to fake versions of the site. Although I can see that results are a bit different from what they were a few days ago. Some of the phishing sites aren't at the top of the page anymore. One new addition (on the 2nd place in the results) is this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1003345;sa=showPosts. It shows the latest posts by the official ChipMixer forum account (Google being weird as usual).

Other search engines, like the often recommended DuckDuckGo are useless as well and will take you to fake sites just like Google.
5267  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: info on scammers "fake" names exposed? on: May 26, 2022, 07:17:48 AM
What's the name of the platform or exchange you used and got scammed?
What kind of scam are we talking about? I assume they enticed you with alluring interest rates and promises of guaranteed and fixed profits.
Were you contacted by some stranger over email, Telegram, or social media?
Did you conduct any research on the people operating the platforms and the sites being advertised?
5268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a good time to start accepting BTC? on: May 25, 2022, 02:04:32 PM
If you are worried about the current price levels, why didn't you integrate Bitcoin into your shop when it's value was over $60.000? I am joking, of course. Wink

What kind of business are you running? You need to ask yourself, would Bitcoiners and other crypto holders be interested in my products and services? Some marketing that your shop is accepting Bitcoin could also help. After that, you have to decide if you are going to keep the coins you receive or convert them immediately to fiat. Many shops use payment processors that convert crypto to fiat and that way they don't have to worry about the volatility. Besides the inflation that is already eating up your spending power.
5269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The average joe would never accept bitcoin as means of payment due to tx fees on: May 25, 2022, 09:09:13 AM
I believe that transaction fees and losing your wallet or getting hacked and not receiving any reimbursement is a serious archilies heel preventing mass adoption for bitcoin.
That's a feature of Bitcoin, not a bug or an oversight by satoshi. The goal is that you and you alone control what happens with your money. That also means being responsible of how to secure your keys and being careful who you transact with.

In many poor countries people use cash as means of payment and no extra fees is levied. If each and every single transaction is levied fees, then people wont spend as much as they spend with cash. I mean if you even transfer from one wallet to another you are leived fees.
The future will be a cashless one, not one where everyone carries paper bills in their pockets. It already kind of is. Bank and card transactions also entail fees. If you ever worked with a client who sends you money from abroad, you would know.

Your bank charges you a fee for incoming international transactions, not to mention currency exchanges, and routing fees for intermediary banks (if applicable). Online banking? You pay for that too. As well as the SMS and email notifications you get about account balances and transactions made. Then there are monthly fees just for having a bank account and other fees the banks think of to take more money from you.

Credit card transactions aren't free. Ask the person and shop owner behind the register and they will tell you. Have you ever been asked if you are paying by cash or credit card when you shop? That's most probably because you will be charged a bit more if you pay with a card.

And what about the people that are unbanked? Depending on what sources you find, they claim that hundreds of millions of people (maybe even over a billion) are unbanked. Imagine what fees they have to pay to Western Union or similar services that hold a monopoly on that market!
5270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to get the txn from lightning network to btc blockchain on: May 25, 2022, 08:23:25 AM
A transaction settled in the Lightning Network is never confirmed in the blockchain. That's why it's often called "off-chain". The only transactions that get place in the blockchain and have a relation with Lightning are those that open and close the channels.
I have a feeling that's what supermankid was asking about, but he didn't express himself in the best way.

@supermankid
The same rules that apply for standard Bitcoin on-chain transactions apply to transactions that open and close LN channels. You need to pay enough fees for a miner to have an incentive to include your transaction in a block.
5271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Prediction: Bitcoin Could Plunge to $25,000 on: May 25, 2022, 08:14:49 AM
I hate reading about Bitcoin predictions. At the same time when people are predicting $25k or even $19k, we have other people saying that Bitcoin is in the perfect buy zone for accumulation. The price has reversed from areas of $29-30k several times in the past and it's apparently time for one more run. Roll Eyes

And whatever happens there will be someone to say: I told you so!
5272  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: info on scammers "fake" names exposed? on: May 25, 2022, 08:05:10 AM
That's not the way to create a scam accusation thread.
You can follow this Scam Report Format and explain exactly what happened, when, and how. Proof is absolutely necessary.

Posting a few random names isn't going to get the ball rolling.
How were you approached, how did you lose the money, etc...
5273  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: casinoin.io not paying winnings on: May 25, 2022, 07:58:51 AM
I attempted the withdrawal 2 hours ago again and it was processed. Note that yesterday I had linked my complaint here at bitcointalk when I contacted their support regarding their second day of not processing my withdrawal request.
I doubt the reason your withdrawal was processed is that they got afraid of earning a bad reputation on Bitcointalk. I might have believed that if they were constantly active here and depend on this community for new players. But they don't, and they haven't posted any updates or news in 2 years.

How much money are we talking about approximately? You don't have to say the exact figures if you want to keep it private, but you can mention the total number of digits. 5 digits, 6, more? If it's a relatively big amount that doesn't happen every day, maybe the casino did need some time to collect it from other wallets depending on their setup.

You have been paid, so you should adjust the title in a way to show the community that the issue has been settled.
5274  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Threads translation challenge for newbie's. on: May 25, 2022, 07:47:01 AM
I mean do you offer a translation service? If so, I think no one will trust you because of your rank. I would suggest you buy a copper membership and create a Service thread in this board with your existing portfolio link.
The copper membership does not mean that someone is trusted. It's a useful feature to bypass certain limitations, such as that of being able to post images in your threads. But it shouldn't be mistaken as a symbol of a trustworthy forum member. Not even a high rank means you are trustworthy. On this forum, not even positive trust means you can be trusted with money or to fulfill the obligations of an agreement. It can mean all that, but not in all cases. We have people with plenty of positive trust, but none of the feedback was earned as a result of trades that involve money or goods.
5275  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: LTC CASINO NOT paying winnings . 1496 Ltc to be paid on: May 25, 2022, 07:14:29 AM
Apparently  I look suspicious  trying  to push to get the matter to be solved ASAP. As I didn't  wait long enough.
The irony of it all.
To be fair bambolina, you did push a lot in the beginning as well. As soon as the thread was created, you posted in it multiple times daily to get people's attention. That also caused suspicious and most people probably didn't believe you. Presenting your case properly is very important.

LTC Casino's first reply looked very professional and I thought they were telling the truth. They promised to release proof that you played constantly for 16 hours with not a second of a break in between the rounds. But that was obviously all made up and the data was never shown to anyone. They have shown no proof that they have gotten SoftSwiss involved either. Apparently, we should just believe them since their list of lies and broken promises wasn't long already.
5276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 25, 2022, 06:56:31 AM
But is he going to fit in the English premier League correctly?
I don't think that's the best environment for someone like Dybala. The injury concerns are just one reason why I think that. He doesn't look like the greatest worker and someone that focused on his fitness. The English Premier League is made up of runners who can play football. Athleticism and pace are integral part of the game. Spanish La Liga seems like a better fit for him. However, Real isn't interested and I am not sure Barca is either. If he really loves Juventus and cares for its fans like he says he does, he will never sign for Inter, but let's wait and see. The things players say these days are random bullshit anyways. But you can't fake those tears and the sadness that was visible on his face on the last match at the Juventus Stadium vs Lazio.
5277  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Show off your hardware wallet on: May 25, 2022, 06:49:02 AM
Oh you are really interested about Arculus?  Smiley
I was interested to see how it looked and what the user's experience with the wallet is. But not because I like it or appreciate the geographical restrictions and limitations it comes with. A hardware wallet that was given away for free to visitors of a Bitcoin conference doesn't sound very appealing.
5278  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: LTC CASINO NOT paying winnings . 1496 Ltc to be paid on: May 24, 2022, 05:26:29 PM
If you want to contact SoftSwiss and check if LTC Casino has indeed requested them to carry out an investigation, you can do that through this online form:
https://www.softswiss.com/contact-us/

Please try to sound professional. Short and to the point, and avoid unnecessary information.
You might even want to link your threads in Casino Guru and this scam accusation.

At the end of the page, there is also an email and a few social media sites of SoftSwiss.
5279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 24, 2022, 02:01:42 PM
Juventus has a lot to put in the team come next season which is the expectation of the club's fans. Defensively Juventus needs an aggressive defender in likes of CFC Rudiger now moving to Real Madrid and definitely such quality can't be reached in their interest for the Arsenal's defender except otherwise as to their reasons for such an interest.
Koulibaly from Napoli could be a good option depending on if he is available and at what price. He is almost 31 but his contract expires at the of next season. The problem is, he plays for Napoli and their feelings for Juventus are well-known. The relationships between the two club presidents is also bad.

As for Dybala I don't see him making a move away from Juventus in this transfer season. My personal opinion though!
It's no longer a matter of opinion. His contract is expiring and will not be extended.
5280  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Threads translation challenge for newbie's. on: May 24, 2022, 01:53:02 PM
What other languages? If you speak and understand those languages, that's no problem at all. There are many such threads that have been translated from one language to the other. Don't try to translate into or from a language you don't understand.

Regarding how to do it. There really aren't any tricks there. Translate sentence for sentence and omit and add information you think might be beneficial. You can even click on the quote button to check the design and copy over the original layout from the thread starter. After that, you just insert your text wherever it's needed and remove that in the original language.

Don't forget to give credits and share links to the original threads. Some people even PM people to ask for permission, so if you want you can do that as well just in case the person doesn't want his threads replicated elsewhere. I don't see why someone would mind though.
