5261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DAMMIT, I missed another profit opportunity!!! on: March 05, 2020, 04:57:44 AM
I bought more Litecoin at $61 a few weeks ago, then watched its price rise to the low 80s.

Then everyone started shitting themselves over this Corona Virus bullshit, so the price retreated to $60 again.  If I'd been able to predict the future I'd have sold at $80 and bought back in at $60, but I didn't.

So I lost some profits.  Farq.

You just have to look at the bright side mate, yes, I agree that you could have made a good profits there, but who knows, maybe after the Bitcoin block halving we will see Litecoin moving to the $80 range again.

Of course, it was really an unexpected event, the corona virus pandemic did really damage most of the markets globally. Just take this one with stride and charge it to experience. Still lots of day to trade and make profits so just be calm and collected, no need to shit on your pants.
5262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin Gets Centralized Through Massive Mergers on: March 05, 2020, 04:28:58 AM
The argument of Bitcoin getting centralized is wrong in the very beginning.

According to the article:

Quote
Not to be outdone, Tron moved to exchanges such as Poloniex, Binance and Huobi and bought up some 84 million Steem tokens in a strategic move that gives the company majority vote among Block Producers (BP) of the Steemit network. This means that the top BPs would be chosen by Justin Sun of Tron. So the attempt to keep him off control of the Steemit blockchain through the soft fork has been defeated.

Who has such power to do that with Bitcoin, not even the whales unless they collude with each other but I doubt that. Whales can only things that much in the market, to manipulate it, but to have control control? Nah, I'm not seeing it happening in the future.
5263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 Chinese charged with laundering money from exchange hack on: March 05, 2020, 12:50:42 AM
I still find it amazing how NoKor keeps on pulling the strings to make their moves outside their country and not get caught sooner. Their relationship with large banks and other organizations/institutions is unbelievable too, so much that they managed to amass hundreds of millions of dollars through illegal activity without hitting any red flags. That's why I always look up to the North Koreans as extremely cunning and dangerous even though their country is deprived of anything to the outside world. Good thing their moves are snooped by the authorities even though they initially used bitcoin to cover tracks first. I just wonder what certain cryptocurrency ezchange are they talking about anyway?

And that is why up to this day, North Korea has survived from the massive trade embargo from the West, they are so resilient, and we could say self sufficient and saw crypto as a way to circumvent whether arms or trade sanctions.

It didn't mentioned the exchange, but I will assume that it is a South Korean exchange, which they frequently targeted.

Edit: Hacked Exchanges since 2011.

5264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not Just for Online but also IRL Gambling on: March 04, 2020, 11:09:04 PM
Have you ever played on a game were it is totally a scam without realizing it? I just seen a facebook post in which there are several games that doesn't let you win even though how many times you try and you'll just feel like giving up then they will tell you that you won or let you win ... but without realizing, it was just a tactic/s to have you play until you burn your eyelids and money to that game.

This applies on both Gambling Online/IRL, So tell me have you ever seen one of these games and you'll just realize it after the game or watching other people play that certain game?

No, haven't played that kind of game, or at least a game that it is a scam without me realizing it.

But I have seen those kind of games in street, street levels like chess or even three card monte, it's not ponzi per se, but it is street hustling. And even if people really know that those bad actors are going to scam them, still they play with real money and you know that you are going to lose in the end, maybe they just played for fun or for the experience.
5265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: VSYS + BitHumb = Moon? on: March 04, 2020, 10:49:14 PM
Of course, when a certain coin is listed on an exchange, specially in the top tier, the price will go up because of speculation and pump-and-dump.

But after that, it will suddenly died down, as manipulators are the first one to get in and get out before everything fall. And (VSYS) is still new, not even a year old, lots of things can happen. So everyone shouldn't be saying that it's going to the Moon, you need to look at the long term price movement.
5266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Still staking Bitconnect tokens.. on: March 04, 2020, 01:22:28 PM
Wow, their blockchain is living longer than its creators. Hah, sounds futuristic

Yeah, that's quite odd.

Anyways, it is a proven scam already, so I doubt that anyone would like to trade p2p with Bitconnect tokens. There are no exchanges that accept it as well, so you might as well treat it like nothing, worthless piece of shitcoin.

The damage has been done, there is no fixing it, even prior to the scandal, many people here in the community has been calling it a scam, but they are gullible and thinks that it will continue to make them money until it got busted.
5267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Here we go again on: March 04, 2020, 11:55:39 AM
The news is all over the community, seen a lot of thread in the Bitcoin Discussion board. It's understandable though, as many of our Indian crypto enthusiast did fought this ban and now hearing this beautiful news, it really makes everyone feel very positive as well.

Although we still have the corona virus scare that somewhat cause the price to be affected, with this kind of big news, I'm sure that the market will see some good spike and who knows, maybe we can get to that five digits again.
5268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think, India lifting the ban on cryptocurrencies will impact BTC Price? on: March 04, 2020, 11:02:12 AM
We will see, this is really a big news around the crypto sphere because India is a big market and we are hoping that they could make a impact not just to the price but to developing innovative blockchain technology as India is known for their IT expertise.

So let's see how it goes, we might not felt the positive effect, but for sure India's crypto market are very happy and rejoicing with this victory.
5269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: March 04, 2020, 10:34:11 AM
Next in the calendar is the 2020 BNP Paribas Open, March 12 – 22, another Masters 1000 tournament.

Thiem is the defending champion, defeating Federer last year. So in the absence of Roger, he is rank 3, behind Djokovic and Nadal. Most of the top rank players entered this tournament so it will be interesting who will win tournament. I haven't check the odds though, but it looks like Djokovic, with the strength of his recent performance will be the favorite.
5270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin Could Be The Key To World Peace on: March 04, 2020, 09:50:57 AM
I think we already saw what decentralization can bring to the table, that's why we've seen governments and banks turn their back on crypto because they know it will challenge the status quo. And that is what we are seeing right now, so its either government join the movement, otherwise they will be left in the closest.

And as Bitcoin enthusiast, we have seen that it gives up monetary power and financial freedom from big corporations, and I think this will hold true in the next decade.
5271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does it have volume ? on: March 03, 2020, 11:05:48 PM
Sometimes, as a trader or an investor. you wonder why you miss out on tokens that does 400-6000 % increase.

You will also wonder how it missed your grasp, but do you bother to check if it has volume ?
Do you bother to check if it has buyers ? Do you further find out, if it a true pump ?

Unless you are in a pump-and-dump group, you won't missed that huge jump in prices of some shitcoins. But I'm not saying we need to join, because majority of them are just going to scam us, specially noobs.

Be patient, and figure out your research functions well.

I hope i was able to present my views. do correct and suggest further opinions too

5272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Collective DEX Volume is Starting to Outperform Some Major Exchanges on: March 03, 2020, 12:54:13 PM
Just wanna know about how credible the source that already used by DAI to take it as a source to create this publication. Im also feeling curious about does this calculation used the same matric calculation that already used by CMC? it has different result when you are trying to come to the another MCAP site like coinghecko. The daily volume trade of kyber is not so much as stated on that picture

It's obvious that they are using different matrix calculations.

But I will agree, it somewhat the data is reliable, it is good to see that DEX is gaining some ground as far as attracting traders. We all know that CEX is still taking over the market, but with so many issues like hacks and KYC requirements, its about time that we should all move to DEX and take advantage of it's features.
5273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: March 03, 2020, 11:49:51 AM
^^ The closest in Medvedev at #4. He just need to be consistent but recently he suffered some unusual defeat so that's a big question mark again. Even his coach is not impressed specially last tournament.

Quote
Daniil Medvedev's coach wasn't impressed with the Russian's attitude against Jannik Sinner at the Open 13. Though the Russian beat the next gen star, he lost the first set before making a comeback. When I see Daniil with that kind of attitude, that energy during the first set, crying over all the lost points, it annoys me,” Cervara told L'Equipe.

https://www.tennisworldusa.org/tennis/news/Tennis_Interviews/84418/gilles-cervara-unimpressed-with-daniil-medvedevs-on-court-behaviour/

So it will take some time before we can see someone becoming #3 even if Roger Federer is sideline by injuries.

Yeah its strange how Medvedev has dropped off after a very good last half of last year where he was winning tournaments and even challenging for grand slams. But he has started the year off in poor form but hopefully he can turn it around soon. This could be the year for Thiem as he has started the year off well and like the last two years I think he can once again challenge for the French Open.
Yeah, Daniil Medvedev case is really odd, I mean he was on top and celebrated to be the next big star in tennis and lead the young generations to challenge the big 3, but for strange reason he is performing way below, his form is very poor, what gives?

I still remember Osaka in 2018, damn she was literally hot, takes the womens top seed, and then the start of 2019 after she change coach, everything went on a downward spiral.

Osaka's case is different though, it was a change in coach as you have said that may have affected her performance in 2019 and was never the same after that.

As for Medvedev, it's really more of mental thingy for him, his coach is still with him, but seems to be the problem is his mindset and that he can't overpowered it resulting in early exit and not even reaching quarter finals compare to last year wherein his name was always into the discussions. Maybe he got burn out or something, and to overcome it, he needs more focus and a win even on a minor tournament to boost his confidence again.
5274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Sad News]: Nigerian shot dead after resisting robbers access to crypto phone on: March 03, 2020, 11:10:34 AM
Robbery goes wrong, taking someone's like at $400? What kind of person can do that, specially people that they know of? You can't blame the victim though, we can say that he should have given it to the robbers, but as crypto enthusiast, we know how hard it is to earn Bitcoin.

I do hope that the justice system in Nigeria is firm and fair. Give those criminals what they deserve for, and for us, don't do anything that can attract people, keep a low profile, never talk about our crypto, specially in public and even to people that we know of.
5275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If Coronavirus never happened on: March 03, 2020, 10:43:57 AM
What will be happening right now if Coronavirus never took place to drag down cryto market due to economic affection? Still down thread or bullrun will still be kicking

I still believe that Coronavirus has nothing to do with crypto market movement, so if ever Coronavirus never took place, I believe the market flow will be the same as it is.  The current turn of event from being bullish to somehow bearish is not because of Coronavirus but rather because of people panic selling after the short trades from traders who take profit on the recent price uptrend.

Yep, the Corona virus pandemic has nothing to do directly with crypto market, it's just one news that really put a lot of investors into the scare mode, specially newbies who pushing the sell button. Sooner or later the market will go on a retracement and it just so happen that the Conora virus was in the headline and somewhat hurry up the market correction that is going to happen.

But you have to think about it, when we reach $10300 we have a sell-off, meaning many sold and take profits. So I guess that retracement is imminent in February and it's going to happen with or without the Corona virus scare.
5276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev on: March 02, 2020, 11:26:25 PM
Yeah, I think this is going to be a lot of incentive on Anthony Joshua, he got the time to show his talents again win and then go after Tyson Fury. Not taking anything from Pulev as he deserves the title shot because he is the mandatory, but I don't think he has the tools to upset Joshua.

Seems that Joshua got his second wind as well, after he lost to Ruiz and won on the rematch, he had this sort of mentality or at least matured after his first lost on Andy.
5277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thai Bank Launches App For Instant Cross-Border Payments Powered By Ripple on: March 02, 2020, 10:58:08 PM
I agree, recently Ripple has a lot of things going on, by partnering with local remittance center to boost instant cross border payments. I have seen it locally, haven't try it though, but this is a good move by Ripple. Why?

Because remittances and cross border payments are a billion dollar industry. That's why they are tapping in this niche, they can be the crypto leader for all we know. And it could really bring crypto to the adoption that we all have been fascinating for years now.
5278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of active projects by commits on GitHub on: March 02, 2020, 10:33:22 PM
Best way to compare development activity is coingecko https://www.coingecko.com/en?view=developer
They also have social media activity of all coins. But you always need o be cautious when you compare, since development of coins is happening differently. Best is to take very long periods of time.

Yes, this is what I also looked when trying to find out projects activity and stuff.

Obviously, there's a lot of activity in the top 10 -20 coins because they wanted to stay on that position by updating and listening to their community and they also need to upgrade otherwise there might be competition that will kick them out on the top spot.

As for the projects that OP has posted, I'm also familiar with some of them, specially, AETERNITY, ARK, DeepOnion (who would forget their airdrops on 2017? I think they started the craze, LOL) and Digibyte DGB.
5279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can porn sites make bitcoin more popular or will it brings negative effects? on: March 02, 2020, 10:07:50 PM
As we all know, porn sites are at the top which are frequently visited by people in the internet world. So in my opinion if a porn site accepts
payments with bitcoin it will make bitcoin more popular and used by many people.Because transactions on porn sites we need privacy and
bitcoin can provide a solution. But on the other hand we have to admit porn sites can make the image worse in the eyes of some people.
So in your opinion, if a porn site accepts payments with bitcoin can make bitcoin more popular or will it be dangerous for the future of bitcoin
because it brings negative effects?

Here you go;
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/6xj7ee/list_of_adultporn_sites_that_accept_bitcoin/
https://coindoo.com/a-list-of-adult-websites-that-accept-payments-in-cryptocurrency/

Its already been a while for some porn sites do accept crypto as a payment but nothing has changed after all
and i  dont really believe much that it would be worth to pay up some crypto to these sites if you can actually
see majority of those for free. Grin

Exactly, as far as I can remember we have somewhat a signature campaign related to the porn industry here:

[CLOSED] THE LEGENDS ROOM Signature Campaign
[CLOSED] 🌟🌟 Xotika.TV Signature Campaign - Earn Bitcoins the sexy way! 🌟🌟

So everything that can "exposed" crypto to a wider audience for adoption is good.  Grin
5280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: March 02, 2020, 09:05:15 PM
Today I have serious shock becasue as I was watching semi final between Djokovic and Monfils its going straight farward for Monfils as he won first set by 6 - 2 and in second he was leading by 3 - 2 but as I return home match was already ends but score was very different as in favour of Djokovic 2 - 6, 7 - 6 and 6 -1 its really shocking Monfils is good player but in last few matches he cannot handle easily.

@Indymoney I’m not at all surprised that Djokovic won, because he had beaten Monfils 16 times prior to this match and has not lost a single game against Monfils till date. Also if you knew Djokovic well then you would have known that he doesn’t give up till the end, and I’ll give some credit to Monfils too as he really gave it all but in the end he was unable to stop Djokovic from winning the match.

https://www.tennis.com/pro-game/2020/02/novak-djokovic-vs-gael-monfils-dubai-free-tennis-atp-2020-17th-match/87749/

It just goes to show how we can never count out the top players, even though Monfils is a great player however he is not in the class as Djokovic and Nadal. We see it all the time with Nadal and Djokovic come back from 1 set, two sets down and win the match. They just have the will to keep fighting and never give up which we don't see from a lot of the other players.

Exactly, that's why we call them "elite level' tennis players, who would think that after losing the first set and down on second, he would still win the match. That's Djokovic, Nadal and Federer's mentality, and it's not the first time that we have seen them digging out in the brink of elimination then suddenly out of nowhere gets their second win physically and mentality to overcome their opponents and as tennis fans, you will just wonder and awe with this player.

Djokovic eventually won the Dubai Open against my boy Tsitsipas.

Nadal win the Madrid Open vs Taylor Fritz.
