Sad news for federer fans because he is injured and runs an operation because of that.
Will not play at the French Open don't know for other Grand Slams such as Wimbledon and US Open where he still wants to add more tittle Grand Slam.

I don't want to say that he's finished because Federer is one of those players who has a good determination with his career.

He had a run of injuries in the past and was able to defy the odds by winning more grand slams. So this is not new to him, so mentally he can return and resume and chase more tennis accolades. Although age could be a limiting factor for his recovery this time, but I have no doubts that his career is not yet finished.

So it will be a battle for Djokovic and Nadal for the top one this year. Djokovic looks fresher and strong between the two, so for me, Djokovic will continue to end the year as the number one tennis player. Wish Federer for a swift recovery.

Now its all about when he able to come back in court because if he takes long time then surely its going to hurt his cause as body is also not as its need now from big 3 we have 2 these can rule tennis for some long time as both able to hold nerve and can fight as much a win need new generation is good but not as we expect from them.

I don't really understand what has happened with Zverev. He was the first of the next gen players who showed real consistency and ability to take the fight to the big three. He had strong game from both forehand and backhand, solid serve, good hand. Basically he had all the shots at the high level and solid mental strength. Then out of the nowhere he lost that mental strength and started under performing. Hopefully he will find that lost spark and continue to develop in right direction.

I agree, I don't really think he is overrated, he might be going on some mental issues during the match. Focus is off, lots of mental lapses throughout the game. That's why his opponent was able to take advantage and by the time he wokes up, its too late as he has to cover a lot and most of the time he is not successful.

We have seen this pattern from the next generation of players, Medvedev is another example. He has a break out 2019, but this year is is quite struggling.

Zverev is not alone in this case we have many youngsters in past with same things but Zverev is still very young and able to fight back if he wants to stay with top ranked players in current year he is not good as total matches 11 and result is 6 - 5 which is very disappointed as yesterday he lost very cheaply now involve in double match but still not good as he need to be hopefully he will do some good in near future.

Yes Djokovic was able to come back from injury and in my opinion come back as a better player however I'm just not sure about Federer as he is a lot older then Djokovic when he came back from injury and as we know, it takes a lot longer to recover from injury when the player is older. I think he will make a come back and I suspect that he will target Wimbledon to make his come back but lets just hope that he makes a full recovery. This now opens up the door for one of the young talent to take the number 3 rank, lets see which young talent is able to achieve this.

But he has started the year off in poor form but hopefully he can turn it around soon. This could be the year for Thiem as he has started the year off well and like the last two years I think he can once again challenge for the French Open.

Today I have serious shock becasue as I was watching semi final between Djokovic and Monfils its going straight farward for Monfils as he won first set by 6 - 2 and in second he was leading by 3 - 2 but as I return home match was already ends but score was very different as in favour of Djokovic 2 - 6, 7 - 6 and 6 -1 its really shocking Monfils is good player but in last few matches he cannot handle easily.

It just goes to show how we can never count out the top players, even though Monfils is a great player however he is not in the class as Djokovic and Nadal. We see it all the time with Nadal and Djokovic come back from 1 set, two sets down and win the match. Exactly, that's why we call them "elite level' tennis players, who would think that after losing the first set and down on second, he would still win the match. That's Djokovic, Nadal and Federer's mentality, and it's not the first time that we have seen them digging out in the brink of elimination then suddenly out of nowhere gets their second win physically and mentality to overcome their opponents and as tennis fans, you will just wonder and awe with this player.

Unlike the women's section, Serena has started to decline and has now been replaced by young players and there are not yet young players to dominate. The last 2-3 years the grand slam title was won by young players whose ages are between 18-25 years old,  so they are very young.

Osaka's case is different though, it was a change in coach as you have said that may have affected her performance in 2019 and was never the same after that.

As for Medvedev, it's really more of mental thingy for him, his coach is still with him, but seems to be the problem is his mindset and that he can't overpowered it resulting in early exit and not even reaching quarter finals compare to last year wherein his name was always into the discussions. Maybe he got burn out or something, and to overcome it, he needs more focus and a win even on a minor tournament to boost his confidence again.

Next in the calendar is the 2020 BNP Paribas Open, March 12 – 22, another Masters 1000 tournament.

Thiem is the defending champion, defeating Federer last year. So in the absence of Roger, he is rank 3, behind Djokovic and Nadal. Most of the top rank players entered this tournament so it will be interesting who will win tournament. I haven't check the odds though, but it looks like Djokovic, with the strength of his recent performance will be the favorite.
