Everybody is moving to mine zec classic.

and this is priced at what and where can you sell such?

(just saying so new that only person holding it is the zec classic satoshi who ported it...is that what we are talking about here?) Smiley

not a slam just find nothing on what you say ..google just shows zec current

Corsair PCI-E cables arrived, went to get the second A4 online.  Cables don't fit my power supply.  Description on the web site and cable says for Ax1200 only.  I have Ax1200i PSU's.  One would assume Ax1200 and Ax1200i are the same animal with pcie cables... Worse yet no way to contact Corsair.  No phone, online chat is offline, nothing.  Only way is to open a ticket and wait.  This is completely unacceptable.  After this I cannot recommend Corsair products.  They should have came with 8 pcie cables for the 8pcie ports on the PSU.  Nope, you apparently have to buy them if you want more.   So now I am stuck waiting for Corsair to respond to my ticket and explain what cables I actually need.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Corsair-AX1200i-Black-Modular-Cables-17-cables-USB-Dongle-75-001444-Zip-ties-/222297830405?hash=item33c1fbb405:g:qGMAAOSw5cNYFMbe

Thanks, Just ran off and ordered the cables I needed on ebay and paid through the nose for them.  At least I will get what I ordered this time.   Angry

corsair does come thru on the online eventually...you may only get a replacement set however...but likely you can sell them on eBay for the same price in that this seems
a bit too common....but anyway it is a round about way out of this

anyway with Trump being elected and the missiles in the air come January 2017 or so...don't sweat the small stuff Smiley (kidding I hope) Smiley

5283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016 U.S. Presidential Election Prediction Thread on: November 09, 2016, 07:17:27 AM
Well putting politics aside a bit....1/2 the country is not behind Trump....(Democrats) and a bit less then 1/3 the republicans are not behind him either....Independents and such
fill in the rest imho.

Thus it is gonna be dang hard to govern imho. Prepare for 4 years of firestorm here in the states. I myself see (and I think markets see) at least a good old home grown recession

or worse on just his trade policies in 2017.....just wait for the overseas action of China and Russia testing this new administration...

True BTC and crypto could be OK for a bit...but while they may not be able to ban BTC they dang sure could try to squash it and other crypto..thus putting the price back

down in the 100 to 200 range for sure.

(Guess its time to start that Liberal Militia and build that hidey hole...not really.....but then again I was far off on the likelihood of this happening what else am I wrong about?)

Seriously, thou...if past behavior and inexperience is any guide to this at all... If trump HIMSELF really believes all his policies are gonna be easy or even the majority of attempts will work
and is that naive about how to govern....(ie no compromise and planning and coalitions etc)..he is at the very best in for a very steep on the job learning curve..

again imho we are in for it in 2017 for a pretty likely ..again imho 'deep recession' not to mention the social upheaval of below
if this below is followed thru on ..again imho

hope I am incorrect...but with 1st 100 days he has claimed

1) investigate Hillary Clinton/etc political threats put in jail including reporters and news organizations

2) ban Obamacare w/o a republican well thought out replacement of some manner

3) ban abortion in 1st 100 days

4) put on bench very conservative supreme court

5) keep control of the house and senate and let the far right loose

On the other hand,  people want simple solutions to complex problems...no matter your political views.....that imho is his biggest flaw and the biggest flaw
in those who elected him to office....it just don't work that way in the real world..best intentions given to the winners this could turn into a real hairball for trade/foreign
relations/alliances with nato etc/ and domestic unrest.....in other words a 'soft touch' is needed to turn the boat around 180 degrees if you wish to.....too fast and
the whole works sinks....

anyway end of vent.....again hope it is not that dire....but not hopeful....the learning curve is gonna be steep..not sure he can pull it out enough to govern frankly

but then again I know zip...dead wrong on how I thought this was gonna turn out.
5284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Poll: Zcash. Buyer's Remorse. (Perhaps I should not have got 2 rigs) lol :) on: November 08, 2016, 09:19:42 AM
I would not have bought RX480s, they're not really more powerful than the RX470s.

That said, I think ZEC will go back up once they fix their z wallet bug. Also, it's still more profitable to mine than ETH for the moment...

no, it is not.

Depends on your specific rigs and specific energy costs.

For *ME* right now ETH is more profitable - but it's close enough that could change tomorrow.

ETH last announcement I saw was middle of next year for POS - though 2 GB cards will get "DAG size killed" sometime sooner.

Yeah if you wanted to make the 'long bet' at some point below then ....assuming difficulty allows it for ZEC you mine like hell and hold

then when the ETH and ETC go POS coin...all those GPU ETH or ETC miners go to ZEC mining. Either a good thing or a tank at that point

balls to wish ratio on this is large...no clue...just saying

Is anyone else not able to remote into their A4? I have mine online and am able to see that it is using the default IP address with an IP scanner, but whenever I type it into a browser I am getting a 'Site cannot be reached' message.

Just go to www.litecoinpool.org

and use that ..it pays 103% and has NO FEE.

Works great for me. How I monitor my miners remotely.

Any issues on getting on, etc PM me.

also sent you a pm on this

and thanks for the trust on the escrow I bumped yours up as well here on BTC talk.

Well drank the kool aid and have 2 new rigs 5 GPU board setups off of Newegg. (One rig is up on Silent Army (Ubuntu) the other is in the mail supposedly.)

PROBABLY COULD HAVE SKIPPED THE 2ND RIG AT THIS POINT! (you think?)

Got 10 Sapphire RX 480 Cards (see link below). Supposedly with bios tweaks and such I was told I can creep these over 50 h/s each.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202223]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202223]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202223

Anyway thus the poll. Having a bit of buyers regret. (One OK. Two..meh....)

So take the poll and/or post here on what you all think of thie 'kool aid' drinking ZEC coin POW mining endeavor.

(Finally fell into the common trap of being (or realizing) I know am a big miner making on LTC mining 2.2k a month after expenses. errr......slipped up and forgot that is 'real
money we are talking about chump' and drank too much 'kool aid'. On the one hand it is very nice to be in this kinda position and I can mine other stuff to get out of this hole
say in a month or two and move on. But kinda embarassing that I lost track of the fact I stuck 4k probably in all this.)

Dare to Dream,  they say. Go for it, they say. OK on 1 GPU rig maybe. On 2 GPU rigs...er me thinks that was a step to far.

Hell, it is only money. Right.  Chump or Champ on this. We will see I guess.

Take the poll. Post/Vent here on do's and or dont's on this ZEC Coin POW mining bit of 'speculation'

(Damn, should have had the 'intervention' before buying the 2nd GPU rig at least!) Sad

Put the rigs on ETH or ETC (some argue ETC is better for selling due to less diff)

I'm assuming you bought some open air rigs for these setups or built them? What did you buy if I may ask?

I'm considering building/buying an open air setup.

Below is what I paid for 5 cards so it will be a 5 card setup. Something like 1800 bucks invested more or less I guess. Not sure yet my buddy is putting it together
at the colohub data center  I keep my Titans (some anyway others at home)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202223]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202223]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202223

But say it runs 4k for both....The first one..Ok..that was a gimmie....still think I went over board on the 2nd one. Oh well.....use this as a 'stop check' then next time

I want to blow my Titan $$$ mining month to month on something I guess.

They will be open rig. (IF you can call open rig zip tied to racks and hanging that is) Smiley

5287  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 07, 2016, 11:01:03 AM
It looks like there will be a rise in bitcoin since Hitlery is going to win this one with Florida (AGAIN! Roll Eyes ) begin the accusing state to doom the US for 4 more years of devious debauchery with another conniving (unt . Embarrassed
Other posters say Trump would rise Bitcoin. Which is it???

Also apparently every politician is Hitler. I've heard all of them called Hitler, including Trump, Obama and Bernie Sanders. Who is the real Hitler? Which one will gas 6,000,000 people?

If Adolf Hitler himself was elected, would Bitcoin rise or fall?

Trump's polling correlates very well against different asset classes, either positively (gold) or negatively (peso, stocks). It's not hard to guess how a Trump presidency would affect bitcoin.
Bitcoin is not correlated with either one of these asset classes.

Pretty sure a Trump presidency would boost bitcoin. A small minority of people think of it as a safe haven asset for some odd reason. More significant are the traders who think that people treat it as a safe haven, and the traders who think those traders think people treat it as a safe haven... Keynesian Beauty Contest, like Cyprus in 2013.
Not sure if there would be an effect from CNY as traders use it as a proxy for a weaker dollar.

Actually ...with the election being over soon. No matter who wins 40% plus of the population is gonna be p/o'd at the winner. Thus I think after Tuesday BTC will pump regardless
for that reason. Don't envy the next president whoever he or she may be.

5289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v1.1 on: November 06, 2016, 09:42:05 AM
I think it would be best to both parties and to all miners if this would just be for free. Without the dev fees.
Please remove the dev fees in your zcash miner @Claymore. Just let it be for the public and all of us miners will appreciate you more and I think @mrb would have no objection to that.

Please remove the dev fees. Just this once.
Thank you.

Sorry to say. He has a product the kicks butt. I realize pools for ZEC are charging 4% that will lessen some with competition.....add this 2.5% and it looks steep together at 6.5%

but again. IF your product rocks why would you not charge 2.5% and code this mess for free. That is just silly. He also charged for the ETH versions.

From what I understand his previous mining stuff for ETH was 1%. This being a new coin and more of a gamble...he up'd the amount for the risk/time he put in.

Anyway...if this does NOT work out for him and others have your view and they all beat a path someplace else..well hell he may then lessen his fee at some point.

But no fee at all ....don't be silly Smiley

Also imho by getting such out NOW rather then later. (ie free as time permits no rush) anyone mining GPU's is probably gonna make out way way ahead mining NOW with stuff that
works at this speed way way way above the curve and the 2.5% fee is a non issue. Then again it could all go beanie baby by next Wednesday and everyone has other concerns then.

Anyway its his time....it is his way to price.....if it is too high others will also make code as good  then that will 'encourage' him to maybe lower his prices then.

but again....don't like it use something else imho ..not a slam..just how I see his situation and pricing at this time etc

Damn, thanks Searing. Guess they couldn't keep up with chinese competition
KNC did some wrong tax related calculations. Suddenly they had to pay more taxes than they had been able to pay. So they went bankrupt.

Really? you have any links ...even if I have to use google translate.
5292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: A4 Dominator - Pre-Order Group Buy - 280mh, roughly 1000w, $1800 + shipping on: November 05, 2016, 07:40:26 AM
i'm pretty sure its not difficulty setting cause litecoinpool adjusts quickly and was already configured back in the days to accommodate flood of titans. i really really hope its not hardware issue..

Well it has been a rough day for the A4.  Dropping cards, crash and rebooting many times.  Couple of power cycles involved to get it back online.    I am not a very happy camper at the moment.  Miner just crashed and rebooted again....  I don't know how many times it has done that today.

It is far worse over on Prohashing than it is on Litecoinpool due to the coin switching.  I think I will put it back over on Litecoinpool until some of the firmware updates happen.  I hope Inno is monitoring this thread and taking note.  Crashing miners and dropping cards is not "Keeping their promises to the mining community"  They need to get this fixed and not try to keep telling us how stable the A4 is...

Inno's web site has been down all day.  I know a couple of users here have gotten a copy of the latest firmware.  I am hoping to hear from some of them to tell us what they are seeing with the update.

Hi this is Chloe from Innosilicon. I just saw all these feedback and thank you all for these feedback. We have noted the software problem and we are working on it. Your firmware is not the latest version, I will send the latest version to you by email. I've asked my colleague to upload it to Dropbox or somewhere you can access online, but it will take some time.

No worries, we will fix everything asap.

Thank you Chloe.  I will keep an eye out for the update in email.  Thank you for the response.

We are going through a rough patch with this first batch of miners.  Just as an added note, the hash rates seem to fall off pretty badly on the pool side with the miners the longer they run.  If you can get a good long run the hash rates just keep falling.  I have been seeing hash rates in the 230-240mhs range which seems very low...  Someone suggested it could be due to difficulty settings, but at this point we aren't sure what might be causing it.  Just wanted to put that out there as an additional thing to look for as you are trying to duplicate the issues we are seeing and sharing.

Let us know if you need any additional data, testers, or anything that we can do to assist.  Thanks again!

Thanks for your kindness! We've decided to open source the software after internal discussion. Please stay tuned.

You really really need to look at this guy who did 3rd party firmware for the KNC Titans. Just get someone who know how firmware is made to read what his stuff does on the main
page of the below link. That would be a damn quick solution to your problem and move this open source along at max speed imho.

http://gentarkincustomtitan.pcriot.com/

you really need to talk to this guy imho....send him one unit for free and all your issues would be solved....unlikely you would do so..but no way would you be disappointed imho....he made the titan do stuff that no one thought was possible my stuff after 2 years and a repaste runs rock solid yet.....just ask around the Titan thread and/or here....you'd likely get me to get an A4 eventually if he was doing the same mods for the A4

Truth is everyone at this point in time uses his 3rd party software....likely he is the reason so many Titans are still around for you to compete against...heh .....no one I know on bitcointalk etc
uses anything but his stuff.....the benefits are just way too large to ignore...

just read what he has done with the knc titans on his main page..above that should blow you away....and also should wake everyone up at your end

(others feel free to chime in here...this would be the quickest solution to your firmware problem imho bar none)

(not sure why I'm telling you this...I don't run any A4's only Titans...sheesh..........I must want another 'toy' bad) Smiley

Again others chime in here we probably need a everyone to chime in on this so they don't think it is just me!

5293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reports of China Banning Bitcoin Are Greatly Exaggerated on: November 05, 2016, 04:57:02 AM
This is partially what China did before in 2013. I suppose they could do it again. Say as in the past that btc to btc trading is allowed but not allow miners to have Bank Accounts in China.
or Exchanges to bank in China.

It is likely to be so with all the other controls. This is easily gotten around by miners and folk who know bitcoin...but likely would stop the flow of what i see as lately newbies flooding bitcoin

so new adoption wise it would slow imho.

Always remember China is a Communist Country that plays at Capitalism. If it ever is a choice they will flush the economy to save their power as a Communist party...

But again ...they have lots of other controls in the works on paper that may be lame. This could be one more flag waving example of such......unworkable...but could change the 'tone' of

how btc is accepted and talked about in China..and again.....all them nice newbies that are flocking to us was (is) nice...but again imho it will happen, but not as big a deal as folk make out.

As usual hope I am dead wrong.
5294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: A4 Dominator - Pre-Order Group Buy - 280mh, roughly 1000w, $1800 + shipping on: November 05, 2016, 03:32:11 AM
Just an aside. But I passed on some A4's in the group buy, so I looked them over, due to the fact I was the middle man escrow on a group buy of 6 cubes.  Looking at the enclosed PI case. (I did not look inside). IF and I really mean IF it uses standard ports on the Pi for the case. And or is some kinda ribbon arrangement for the ports. Or heck  you could rig up even 1 port per cube with a cable if that was the best standard adapter you could find to hack this. Anyway if that is the case if I owned one I'd make a PI set up for EACH cube. Would only cost about 50 bucks for cables etc to do with the Proper PI and a say SanDisk 8gb class 10 SD card with the the IMG backup file. You could get lucky and the only 'non-standard' part could be the plastic case itself on the controller unit.

Even my Titan cubes run more stable and faster when it is only ONE Cube per controller. Can't afford to do that, we can't hack out controllers easy. Anyway you could get lucky and have an option to do this. May help your speed a bit and or down time being only 1/2 on the various reboots till they get the firmware tweaked. Something to look at and go 'hmmmmm' imho

Just had a board disappear.  Stopped the miner in the UI, lowered the mv to 800 from 810 that it came from Inno as.  Just restarted.  Hopefully it will become stable and run through the night.

you might want to bug the A4 mnfg folks to get the firmware updated....probably folk already are...
it not being open source and all...this kinda thing was fixed on the titan cubes by gen tarkin
3rd party software

so no access ...no fixes ..unless the A4 mnfg does it or kicks out a way for a 3rd party to do so

KNC really did not give a damn...on this with 20/20 hindsight it ..sucks when they just go down
and only thing was a power down reboot...you practically had to 'live' with the units..and just expect
cubes down overnite..(again titan firmware when it first came out)

good luck ..you'd think they'd open up the specs on this stuff for you all to mod stuff or improve
their A4's ...it would be in their long term goals..but who knows...if that was the case why was
it not open source to begin with and/or so shoddy?

Is there anything out yet for CPU or GPU Zcash mining on Windows 32bit?
Thanks..

No and I have some doubts there will be.
 Unfortunately.

Given how unstable the ZCash mining situation is right now, I wouldn't even think of trying to build an "optimal ZCash miner machine" - could very easily be a new "more optimised" miner show up the next week or even next DAY that works a ton better for the other side of the Red/Green debate and throws ALL calculations of optimal off.

Got a buddy running 290's he is getting 100mh on a rig of 5 of them ...we did not have much luck with i think he said 270x 3gb cards

Anyway I decided to get a rig so for about 2k complete .this will either work well or badly ...newegg should have the stuff here monday so wens at latest it should be up

Figure even if ZEC crashes and burns in an epic pump then dump at worst I'll go back late in the
game on ETC and maybe salvage  1000 bucks back from it all before doorstop. I have NO real
decent desktop for 10 years ...so keeping and selling extra cards (5 card rig) MAYBE it it all goes
pearshaped and ETH moves on to POS etc etc .ie doorstop I may be 500 to 750 usd down on this 'gamble'

but currently I'm betting it at least has enough legs that at worse it will go to NO? lower then LTC which is 0.0006 LTC to BTC if so I can string this along at that rate it is gonna be no more a gamble then an A4 asic with 1 year warranty on parts GPU vs 45 days on an A4 or same price (if you could find them) on a used 'supposely' at least 300mh Titan....(glad i passed on that A4) Smiley

Real issue is as you say 1) know your cards work ...even so we are gonna only try 1 card of this
on a rig if it works then open others if not the 1 opened card and rest go back to newegg on 30 day
replace and call it an 'ooops'

2) now wens of next week..after supposedly getting my rig up (buddy got another identical)....if next week is STILL as nuts...and making the BIG assumption you could even find workable GPU's will I build a 2nd rig on my 'guess/bet" at that point and continue slugging down the 'kool aid' with the other folks on the ZEC float parade?(I'm weak willed I am) Sad Chinese curse" "may you live in interesting times" indeed Smiley

fun times.............damn every Xmas since 2013 the damn crypto 'kool aid' keeps getting stronger and better Smiley

With the price of LTC where it is at none of these high priced miners are going to ROI (even the used ones), seems like a fools gamble.

Do any experienced miners who are mining for profit still mine single currencies like LTC exclusively?

I'll be mining a multipool like Prohashing and with current payouts per Mhs at 0.000065 BTC or more (http://poolpicker.eu/table), a single A4 running at 270 Mhs returns approx $12.28 per day (BTC = $700). Subtract power costs (1.080Kwh x 0.11c x 24 = $2.85) and that leaves $9.43 per day profit.

In two years, I would imagine a fully working A4 will still be worth $750 (3 year old A2's are still selling for >$600 today(but not for much longer)), so my ROI target is actually only $1150.

$1150/$9.43 = 122 days ROI and then every day until the day I sell the A4 is pure profit after electricity costs.

Of course it's very likely that payments will drop as network hash rates increase but even a 25% payout decrease will still leave plenty of profit for an A4.The same can't be said for Gridseeds and A2's without cheap power however. Once the various scrypt network hash rates start to rise and payouts decrease, these less efficient miners will cease to be viable.

The same thing happened with A7s when A9's came out. It's not as immediate in the scrypt universe but the affect will be the same.  Of course Titan's will stay viable for much longer but lets keep in mind that these cost $9,995 new and were fraught with serious delivery and quality issues.

I'm mining LTC and move it to BTC when the ratio gets at least 0.0006 LTC to BTC which would mean
$4.20 usd not the 3.94 it is now Sad

I used to wait till 0.008 LTC to BTC but with all the new coins like ethereum etc out there ..that
speculative cash has gone elsewhere

I am within 1,000 bucks to the bank of paying off with BTC made so far about 2,750mh of my 3,050mh
with this years equip and some towards used.

using www.litecoinpool.org/calc

at current my winter electric of 11c kwh and 3050mh and say 13,000 watts on titans and 3.94 LTC price
I am getting below

24 hours   30.55957031 LTC   120.40 USD   34.32 USD   86.08 USD
7 days   213.91699219 LTC   842.83 USD   240.24 USD   602.59 USD
30 days   916.78710938 LTC   3612.14 USD   1029.60 USD   2582.54 USD

$2,583.54 after rent/expenses/electric per month

the above pool has NO fees and pays out 103%..thus I just wait and move coin (over expenses)
and thus the plan or way I've played it since Nov 8th 2014 Smiley Of course holding and moving it
at the right time to BTC also is a guess/hope etc for this to work.

IT all depends on what the price of LTC say is next year (or BTC that drives such) If we are looking
and/or what amount/price and such and of course WHEN you get the equipment. (dumb luck plays
a role)

at $5 LTC say.. well a lot of the A4 and other dubious purchases would be forgiven quickly Smiley

Anyone have the ssh login for the pi?
I would like to start patching the code asap.

I heard from gen tarkin that the code is not open source? Or does that not matter worth a damn if you are just improving
and not making money on it? Always been confused on how that all hung together.
