5301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Better Advertise Gambling Site? on: October 17, 2016, 01:00:39 AM
Maybe you should first have a website. That might help.
I don't know about you, but I'd definitely play at a site that offers a game instead of going to a site with the words "Index of /" on it, and that's ignoring all your feedback and the fact that someone who is [very likely] you bragged about scamming somebody.

Just a thought.

So, when are we ending? (It's been a week since your announcement post, and here's the current standings of bitcoinpot and I whom I think are the ones who have wagered the most)

bitcoinpot: 284,266.26 bits
actmyname: 302,032.30 bits
5303  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [Primedice.com] Up to free 0.01 BTC to all Bitcointalk members on: October 16, 2016, 04:27:46 PM
Just curious! how many guys got the giveaway money from Primedice (Stunna) . I have not received 0.001 as i posted on the very first day and nothing in my account is this only to me or they haven't paid anyone the giveaway amount? Please tell me thanks. If i am not eligible then tell me.
Users with negative trust are not eligible and it is only one claim per person/account!

Lets forget for a bit that this giveaway closed when I was still wearing diapers : am I the only one seeing something really weird?

Someone with more than an account on bitcointalk try to abuse a promo, closed ages ago by the way, without bothering creating a second account at PrimeDice and doing it when his/her first try is on the same thread page  Tongue Tongue

Too much for me: can't really find a decent explanation for this.
It's not guaranteed that chocolate and minivan are the same person. minivan could be using their negative feedback to affect other users, to sort of falsely spread linkages.

You can only really assume these things. Even in these cases:

A posts address
B posts address
A posts address
C posts address

There's no guaranteed linkage between A and B, or C to A/B. All you know for sure is that A was the original poster of the address. Now, if it's with a signature campaign or something else similar, then that's different - I don't think anybody would pay some random person their earnings out of spite. So in the event of:

A posts address [anywhere]
B posts address [on campaign]
C posts address [anywhere]

You would have a reasonably high chance of seeing that B is A. (and C still has no links)

OK now I see, but could this be considered as spam?
. to create pages obviously, yet I see it and nothing done about it. I'll edit this after  next post.

Does it have any purpose? [no]
Is the information useful? [no]
Is it annoying? [yes]

There is no purpose for those lines, and your post would technically be a one-liner, just separated by the Pacific Ocean.

I would personally consider it spam.

What you missed is, Bitcoin is now global is not only confine only on the english speaking countries anymore. Many new bitcoin adapters came here with only basic english and just want to have fun spam with 20 accounts on signature campaigns to make pennies. But you nazi people deny this oppurtunity to anyone other you native English speakers.
FTFY.

If they have only basic English skills, then they should stay in the local sections to "have fun" and be involved in discussions, not the English boards. Is that logical? I wouldn't be going to Egypt to speak Spanish. And you wouldn't go to the English boards to type a bunch of broken English like a 5 year-old.

Provided you sign a message for the collateral and your account, of course.
5309  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: pocketdice.io scammed 102btc, please help!!! on: October 13, 2016, 09:11:32 PM
If pocket dice paid him 100+btc, then there are legit. The negative trust should be removed. Man, it's not easy to pay that kind of amount even u know u can decide not to pay and no one will do shit.
As for the guy that won 100 btc,  I won't be surprised to k ow he cheated.
Why promise people btc and not keep to your promise. They never begged you. U where the one that said you will give. Stupid people everywhere

Even when you yourself haven't removed the negative trust?

Man, it's not easy to pay that kind of amount even u know u can decide not to pay and no one will do shit.

True. But does it require a month to check for fraudulent behavior? It took Primedice 4 days to figure out that a player was cheating.

Just wait on stunna's explanation. He said the user exploited the site and would do his story later on.
This has gone too far.
-snip-
This thread should be closed.

Check out PocketDice's quote from when the topic started:

Hi everyone,

First thing that looks strange to us in this conversation is why are we speaking to user's friends, not the user himself? Smiley

Second and most important, we ARE going to process this amount if our internal investigation shows that the Terms and conditions of Pocket Dice (located here: https://pocketdice.io/terms-and-policy) have not been violated.

He's been playing for a rather long time, done a lot of rolls and has been winning big amounts on the long run. That's why the investigation takes longer than expected, still the following statement: "The investigation is at the maximum 7 hours no more" is more like wishful thinking, not reality.

It takes a month for an investigation?

Why promise people btc and not keep to your promise. They never begged you. U where the one that said you will give. Stupid people everywhere

When it's downright awful spam and clear begging... that's begging.

We would have to wager 1.75 mBTC for every 1 mBTC you wager to make it fair. Math!

So, do you agree to wager 1.75 mBTC against me wagering 1.0 mBTC on the terms that I brought forth in my previous post? That is, I wager 1 mBTC that I don't become a Legendary member at 994, you wager 1.75 mBTC that I do at that activity?

If I become Legendary at 1,008, that would be a draw

Yep, that's good with me! 0 ev is always better than gambling at -ev.
5315  Other / Meta / Re: Aren't I the most active user among Hero members here? on: October 10, 2016, 08:55:44 PM
Okay, let's discuss the gory details

I suggest the following terms. Namely, if I become Legendary at 994 (my next activity value), you win and I owe you 0.001 BTC. If you still see me as a Hero member at any activity above 1,000 (i.e. 1008), then you lose and you owe me 0.001 BTC. If I turn into a Legendary member exactly at 1008 (980+14+14), that should be considered a draw, and no one owes anything to anyone. I'm not very familiar with betting mathematics, so you are free to change the bet size to compensate for the "house edge" if there is any

Let's try to keep it simple, then.

There's a 14/36 chance to hit Legendary at 994.
There's a 14/22 chance to hit Legendary at 1008.

This means the chance to not hit Legendary at 1008 is 22/36 * 8/22 or 11/18*4/11 which is equal to 2/9. (22.222...%)
The chance to hit Legendary at 994 is 14/36, or 7/18 (38.888...%)
The chance to hit Legendary at 1008 is 22/36 * 14/22, or also 7/18 (38.888...%)

This all adds up to 14/18 + 4/18 = 1, obviously

Now for the betting amounts at 0% house edge:

Suppose we're talking in terms of mBTC, and n is our bet amount.

Code:
We will have the profit {

7/18*1 - hitting legendary at 994
7/18*0 - hitting legendary at 1008
-2/9*n - not hitting legendary at 1008

So, 7/18 - 2n/9 = 0 for 0% edge

Unfortunately for deisik, with these odds, this would be greatly in our favor, even if we were betting in a 1:1 ratio.

To make it fair:

Code:
7/18 = 2n/9
7 = 4n

n = 1.75

We would have to wager 1.75 mBTC for every 1 mBTC you wager to make it fair. Math!

(provided the math checks out, which I'm pretty sure it does)

But hey, if you want to gamble with a huge house edge, I'm down to be that house!
5316  Other / Meta / Re: Aren't I the most active user among Hero members here? on: October 10, 2016, 07:36:51 PM
Active in the sense that you're at 980 activity but you've also been really active judging by your post count?
Does it piss you off that some people can get Legendary status a lot sooner than you?

Post count is irrelevant. I mean activity as it is shown above the avatar, and I wonder if there are other Hero members sticking around who have their current activity at about or above (lol) 1,000. In fact, I don't feel like I'm mightly pissed off really, rather curious if I make it through one thousand points...

Anyone willing to bet? I bet 0.001 BTC, or 1 mBTC,  that I will make it (as a Hero member)

You might beat these guys:

Code:
qwk 994 hit it
Lauda 994 hit it
defaced 1008 hit it
Lincoln6Echo 1013 hit it
mprep 1022 hit it
mcb1221 1022 hit it

(times at which Hero Members hit Legendary, taken from the thread Legendary one day?)

And the graph of your chances hitting Legendary.

It's a 28% chance. For you, anyway.

I'm willing to take your bet that you will hit it. Provided I only have to pay 0.00038889 BTC to keep the house edge as close to 0 as possible Wink
5317  Economy / Gambling / Re: Backgammon websites/casino (bitcoin or real money)? on: October 10, 2016, 07:05:00 PM
Gambit.com had a two-week period of accepting bitcoin... then decided to remove the option because of legality and potential cheating problems.

The issue at hand here with Backgammon is the fact that like poker, it requires both skill and luck... but unlike poker, there are no unknowns apart from the only luck factor. A computer algorithm would be at use in all of the games, I'm willing to bet: since you are able to see your opponent's pieces and play accordingly... with the limited amount of moves you have. The algorithm will just simply test for the most +ev moves, and that'll be it.

It's kind of like Chess in a way... where cheating has become a huge issue.

Holy shit. If you average out the accounts/person for everyone minus the one person with 73 accounts, that's still 10 accounts per person! How much time do these people seriously have to be scraping pennies?

You would make more money begging on the streets, seriously.

2. Isn't it easier just to do this on some online exchange?
