5381  Economy / Economics / Re: New COVID strain may affect crypto valuation on: December 06, 2021, 11:10:11 PM
Today three cases of the new Covid have been detected in my country I believe this is just the beginning cos it looks like we are going into another lockdown very soon in 2022
In my country, the cases of new covid are also found but our society isn't too panicked as before. Even some people predicted these cases will end soon in January 2022. These people believe the cases are just made to make people stay at home during the new year. If the news of new covid already spread out a whole country, people won't be brave to move everywhere. If we consider these people's opinions, maybe lockdown only happen in December 2021 and January 2022.

crypto will crash again cos many will take profits to get set for the lockdown
Crypto crash only happens temporarily. We must realize that crypto market is growing fast during the pandemic. So, Covid won't impact so much for the long term on crypto market. People may sell their coins now, but won't sell all. They know if crypto market will continue improving. So, don't be so worried!

The crypto market has survived from the previous variant of covid, so we may expect that things will not become worst for crypto this time. In fact, this might even cause for the market to surge high again since a lot of people will be staying at home so they will have more time searching jobs or any resources that will provide an income. So there’s no need to panic and decide to sell most of the coins as we all know that this correction phase has temporarily made the market dump, and eventually the coins will recover in time. This new covid variant may be a big threat for the economy of a country but most likely, it will not threaten the crypto market.

We have to understand where the market is coming, or least the investors, this is a new strain and we don't know what will be the effect on us. So every financial market reacts including ours.

But rest assured that when everything settles down, the market will recover again, it might not be the 6 digits that we are expecting this year, but at least a good bounce to $60k might be a good sign that we are going to be still in the bullish phase.
5382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will competitors defeat ETH due to ever-increasing gas fees? on: December 06, 2021, 10:30:19 PM
Yes, it's being defeated. People and projects are moving away from Ethereum chain. Watch the number of users of dapps and games and volume of crypto locked in DEFIs, though Ethereum had a long headstart, others are catching up. They are challenged a lot by BSC, Polygon and solana. Panckaeswap is now the most used Defi while Atrix in solana has the largest volume locked. Even the popular defis and lending platforms are opening themselves into multiple chains to attract users.

I'm afraid so. ETH is quickly losing traction, as people prefer convenience on top of decentralization/censorship-resistance. It's all about money these days, so any platform that's cost-efficient will certainly gain the attention of people worldwide. For "De-Fi" to work as intended, fees need to remain at its lowest. Otherwise, the rich will become richer and the poor, poorer (just like it's the case with the current banking system).

I hope ETH developers do the right thing by introducing scalability upgrades to the Blockchain as soon as possible. Further delays will only make matters worse, as mainstream adoption sinks at a fast pace. Until ETH fixes the "high gas fee" problem, BSC and Solana will remain as ideal alternatives for "De-Fi". Just my thoughts Grin

The question is, will Defi remain in the market or it is just a hype and will die down soon in the next bear cycle?

And I think ETH dev will continue to release their v2 with such improvement regarding the fees so it's a work in progress until such time that they have cut the fees itself to even half of today's price, that will be huge in the market.

And one thing: ETH is a prime mover like BTC.
5383  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs. Ilunga Makabu on: December 06, 2021, 10:04:00 PM
These are the champions that Canelo will have to face if he stays at Cruiserweight class.

https://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Category:World_Champions_By_Weight_Class#Cruiserweight_.28200_lbs.2C_90.7_kg.2C_14_st_4_lbs.29

-

These are big and powerful boxers, if he will reign here then probably that's another history for him.

That's really tough coming from welterweight but in the light heavyweight division he makes things easy he moves like a middleweight but hits like a heavyweight in that division, we have to give their team a benefit of the doubt that they can do better in the cruiserweight division, they have a game plan that we don't know we can only speculate.

Before Alvarez camp decide to move up they scout every possibilities that they've got.

The team have that game plan for Alvarez to stand still against those bigger and tougher opponents,  having strategy or sets of strategy

to increase the chance of winning is within the training team.

Likewise, they have something that we don't know adjustment that we will witness during the fight.

We already have an idea of what Canelo would do in the fight but we don't know what Ilunga Makabu will use as his strategy to beat Canelo, he is a huge guy with power, so Canelo has to be very careful as if he gets hit, he might get hurt with a power that he never felt before in his current division.

The bookies are still convinced though that Canelo would win, so we cannot change the betting odds but that does not guarantee the outcome is the same of majority's expectation.

that is if makabu will win over mchunu. so makabu should better win this fight in order for him to face canelo. the move to higher weight division is really a challenge for canelo. but the good thing here is that we've seen canelo move up to divisions from 153-175 lbs. so he knows the drill here. it is not the case that he will move from 153 to 200lbs. would be hard if that is the case here. though the risk is still there.
as he needs to wait who will win the makabu v mchunu match, he has ample time to think of possible options how to win on this weight div.

As you have said, he already move to 175 lbs without a problem. And as he stated, he will be going in this fight around the 180 lbs-190 lbs, so there is no weight cutting or such for him, so his body will remain maybe just add few muscles in 6 months.

For the Makabu vs Mchunu fight, I reckon Makabu will be the favourite in this fight although this is a rematch, he already shows in the first first that he is the better fighter. And he will definitely try and go for a win here because a Canelo fight will be his biggest paycheck.
5384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 06, 2021, 01:14:00 PM
My pick.

Game : TrailBlazers vs Clippers.

No Lillard for TrailBlazers so I'm expecting the same story on their last two games where they are heavily dominated by their opponents.

-Loss 31 points against the Spurs
-Loss 28 points against the Celtics.

So, not really expecting that they'll bounce back, instead, I expect the Clippers to bounce back after a loss against the Kings.

I have the Clippers -2.5 @1.93 against the TrailBlazers. Yeah, I think the Clippers will have to bounce back after their huge loss against the Kings. They've just beaten the Lakers in a tough match and then loss the next game.

And without Portland's top scorer, it will be hard for them to really phase as far as their offensive weapons is concern. CJ can't do it alone and they lack the support system right now.
5385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gervonta Davis vs. Isaac Cruz - December 5 on: December 06, 2021, 12:27:20 PM

I don't hate Floyd but not his fan, I just don't like his style in boxing but sometimes I do bet on him, and guess what? I also won because he never lose. Floyd makes you profitable when betting because he is very smart and could dominate his opponent.
Ryan Garcia belittles Tank for his very hard win against Cruz

Quote
Gervonta gets away with fighting  c level fighters, out of all the lightweights he’s the weakest!!! His toughest test was Leo Santa Cruz, almost lost tonight bring it on I’ve been calling you out for awhile...

Both Garcia and DeLa Hoya want Tank Davis we'll see if there is a development on this.

This is a hard match for Tank I don't want to say that he was  exposed but many people especially Ryan Garcia thinks Davis is not really invincible, after Ryan call Tank it's up to Mayweather now if he agrees for Davis to fight Garcia next

Here is the related article

Ryan Garcia Calls Out Tank Davis, Says He “Almost Lost” To Isaac Cruz

Ryan Garcia has been belittling Davis for quite some time now. I remember even calling Tank "ugly" during the Mike Tyson podcast.

Of course, everyone has a week point, maybe Tank underestimate Cruz because he was a replacement fighter and he didn't know about the tough Mexican mofo. And yes, he confirmed that he broke his left arm. But Cruz is really durable and take everything want Davis throws and he was able to hit Davis too.

And as per CompuBox, yeah, Ryan is right, it was very close fight as Davis only landed 12 more punches than Cruz.
5386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 06, 2021, 10:46:14 AM
One thing that really impressed me during the Warriors Suns game was how Wiggins did the "Penny move" on CP3 for an easy bucket.  There's lots of videos circling around the internet showing that Wiggins actually uses this move somewhat frequently, which is interesting because I just read an article last week about how the "Penny move" hasn't been done in the NBA in decades...  Wiggins to me seems to finally be living up to his hype when he came into the league.  I think he's still going to get better and will be a major part of the Warriors postseason run.
I saw that too and bro it gave me the chills. I mean, CP3 is not a bad defender but the space Wiggins gained was a lot after doing "the move". He does it a lot of times but this is the first time it was highlighted because it almost looked like an ankle breaker even though it's not really a crossover.
Penny move? As in Anfernee Hardaway move?
Wiggins is still growing and he might have fallen into good hands with the Warriors player development team.

Yes, not many may not know this move, but Penny Hardaway started this move in the 90's. Not sure though how Wiggins thought of this move because he has been pulling this against Lebron as well.

As for the weight issues of Zion, I think with the proper diet, he can still go back and play even with that added weight. I mean the kid is a freak of nature, he can carry his body and move like a point guard and can still leap and tower over anyone. And it really help him out when doing isolation play in the post because it's hard to guard him one on one with that weight like Shaq during his time.
5387  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do you manage Bitcoin price now on: December 06, 2021, 10:07:46 AM
At this moment bitcoin is not stable
Bitcoin price has never stable and it will never stable because it is not a stable coins or USDT, so don't expect stability of Bitcoin even in time to come. Now to op, we may not see any new ATH before end of this year again because any moment people will start selling their holding for Christmas and new year celebration and that will lead to a downward trend of Bitcoin price.

Maybe we can see it trading sideways for a time being and that is what we are now looking at. The price is just bouncing around $48k-$49k and it's hard to go over the resistance of $50k.

So it's hard to manage bitcoin but just remain calm because we can't do anything about it but to wait till the market has enough good news to push the price over $50k this week. But so far, the Fed news and the Omicron variant is still in the air lingering that's why the price is somewhat on the 'stable' side.
5388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 05, 2021, 06:43:37 PM

Anyways it's just a game warriors fans better luck nextime.
Actually I loss that game  Grin

I still trust the Warriors and I still believe they are the best team in the NBA now despite that loss. Just another bad game for the Warriors, it does not happen all the time, so we better watch out for the next game as they will certainly bounce back, should be easy money again.

Of course this is just one lost in the book, maybe they underestimate them or really tired because all their energy was on the Phoenix Suns game.

But regardless, they've learn their lessons in this lost and move forward and maybe next time they won't allow them to run over and have a 20 point lead because it's hard to overcome.

And they can comeback strong and we can recoup our loss in the future.
5389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 05, 2021, 03:15:54 PM
The bad week continues.  Cheesy Suddenly Luka needs to sit and was announced before the game. This is the problem with early picks.
Well, I just need to bounce back again just like the past week where I did well.
Cleveland Cavaliers versus Utah Jazz - Jazz -5.5
The Cavaliers are at their 4th winning streak but I doubt Jazz will let it go to 5. It will be fun to watch Mobley against Gobert. Will Gobert change his playing style because Mobley shoots from the outside? I hope he does but in terms of firepower the Jazz have lots of options.

Good to point it out.

with Jazz when they rotate the ball almost if not all inside the court can shoot either outside or can penetrate inside.

Jazz has a better chance beating the Cavs, with that handicap fans and those who understand how Jazz play will take this one the risk is always there but if given a chance with a single digit handicap, firepower team like Jazz is capable of winning with huge gaps.

As long as they can keep the score close against the Cavs, they can cover the spread as they usually a good 3rd quarter team similar with Suns and GSW.

But if they left the Cavs got the upper hand early with double digits lead, they might have a hard time catching up with a good team in protecting their lead. And maybe we can find surprises just like what we've seen in the Warriors vs Spurs game.
5390  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise or fall. on: December 05, 2021, 02:33:14 PM
Bitcoin will rise again but we should prepare if bitcoin will fall again because besides rising, bitcoin also has a chance to fall that we do not know how deep the price will go down. Hopefully, after the last deeper of the downtrend will be the last and after this, the price will start rising and back to $60k, although that is not easy. Hopefully, you already bought bitcoin at the lowest price before, so right now, you only need to wait for the price to increase and sell your bitcoin to make a profit.

After a deep correction last Saturday, the bitcoin price is currently recovering and if we look at the price movement charts it looks like the current recovery will continue until it reaches back to the $56k - $60k price in the near future, I really believe the bitcoin price will rise soon back because the current correction is only temporary.

$50k first, this is a huge barrier, as always because this is a whole number.

But as soon as we broke this one in the next 24 hours, maybe we are looking at $52k-$56k is this recovery phase. So far though it's very volatile around $49,100-$49,300.

Yes, obviously, we need to be optimistic that it will rise soon, and S2F model prediction is still on track on the 6 digits.
5391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Ioka Dec 31 on: December 04, 2021, 05:04:52 PM
edit : I just read an article that this fight is postponed, so it will not happen at the end of the year. This is owed to new covid restrictions.

https://www.badlefthook.com/2021/12/3/22816367/kazuto-ioka-vs-jerwin-ancajas-unification-officially-postponed-boxing-news-2021

Damn, this could be the first of many fights that will be postponed due to this new COVID-19 variant. I think the fight between Murata and GGG will also be postponed and the Inoue defense might as well be held early next year.

I knew that this is only temporary but I'm hoping that those fights involving popular boxers must be held in the US.

It's better if this fight will be move to the US, but I think Ioka's manager and I'm assuming he is a Japanese might not be well aware of the promotional requirements in the US and that's why they chooses Japan. And it will be an advantage for Ancajas if they decided this fight to happen in the US as he has been fighting stateside for quite sometime now.

Yeah, it seems that the GGG vs Murata is also cancelled for this year because of the same reason.

That's really not good, we have been waiting for this moment to come and yet it's canceled.

Their efforts are wasted because they won't be able to use their training soon due to the postponement.
So, are we going back to the early stage restrictions of covid-19 pandemic?

Maybe it was only Japan for now, but we will see, and as far as I know Asia hasn't been affected by the Omicron yet but Japan just wanted to do some preemptive measures to prevent the spread in their country.

I don't think their efforts for training are wasted, they just have to take a break and wait for the official announcement as when is the fight going to happen next year. So they still need to be in the best shape and battle ready anytime.
5392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Still worth to invest Bitcoin? on: December 04, 2021, 09:26:00 AM
I want to invest something for $20000, still worth?

I think this is the best time to invest because the price is quite cheap again.

But always remember that there are risk involved, so bare that in mind, your $20000 might be worth $200,000 down the line or become $20 so the decision is still yours. Although looking at bitcoin's price history, chances are, you are going to make a huge profit specially if you are going to hold on it for years and not spend it. So in any case, best of luck in your decision.
5393  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin on sale, will the support continues to hold? on: December 04, 2021, 08:37:51 AM
The market is so astonished and annoying, the occurrence of bitcoin degradation in price is not understandable any longer and any more, emerging the price decreasing from day to day, what we passed through like some years back is happening indirectly again, it assumed that the gravity of people demanding bitcoin is not corresponding positively to the supply, many investors is getting and experiencing negativity into investment of bitcoin right now as the price keep on falling instead of accelerating.

And so there's no more support line as this point because the price continues to go down very hard.

Just like hours ago when I checked the price we are still in the $52k'ish and now I was also astonished to see it going as low as $46k. Hard to explain what's the sentiments of the investors maybe except that majority are on the selling mode.

I'm not sure about the negativity as well, the last bad news we had is the covid-19 strain that might put the market into a precarious situation.
5394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 04, 2021, 07:55:07 AM
~
His shooting is just needed. No need for that nasty drives and Milo best movements.
He might not be the slashing/flashy type but he's not going to be static on the court either. You can't expect him to just wait in the corner and wait for a pass. He has to keep moving to get into positions and defend too.

~ I do think that we have a brand new rivalry on the NBA- Suns vs GSW!
When we talk about these teams, they're not there yet. It's more like a continuation of CP3-Curry rivalry from the Clippers/Rockets-GSW days.

Yup, Curry-CP3 rivalry specially from his days with the Houston Rockets.

And I also agree with @qwertyup23, it's sort of redemption win or revenge win for the Warriors and the way they manhandled the Suns. With dunks and good defensive stops specially from Draymond Green. Curry doesn't need to score more points in order for the Warriors to win, he just need to involved his team mates more and they do step up in this game.
5395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 04, 2021, 07:32:04 AM
Good for those who ride on at least -6.5 for the GSW vs Phoenix game as Golden State covered it nicely with more to spare.

This time it was the GSW who played good defense on the Suns and not allowing them easy basket. Steph didn't have a break out game of scoring 30 or more points, but he has a ton of help from Wiggins, Poole and Toscano Anderson. Suns really suffered from Booker out of injury. Tomorrow the Warriors will have to face the Spurs. If Curry will not sit on this game, I think they can covered -9.5 to -10.5 spread as this game is still on their homecourt which they always win in double digit.
5396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata December 29 on: December 03, 2021, 11:59:12 PM
This fight will have to be postponed because of travel restrictions in Japan:

Quote
"I am deeply disappointed that fight in Japan has been postponed but the health and safety of the public must always be the priority. I look forward to returning to the ring against Ryota as soon as possible," Golovkin stated to his followers.

https://www.boxingscene.com/golovkin-vs-murata-pushed-back-due-travel-restrictions--162461

But the planned is to stage this one on the first quarter so everything is not lost. We just have to wait till everything settles down next year.

For sure, these two are disappointment as well but what can we do, this is the world we live in right now.
5397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lomachenko vs Commey - December 11 on: December 03, 2021, 11:38:20 PM

Well probably Lopez will also need to rest to recover mentally from that humiliating lost as well. It's not just physical, most of the time, as in the case of Lopez, he is confident that he will defeat Kambosos and then a huge lost. So let's see how Loma will dispose RC here, if he goes for a KO then maybe he will call out the new champion and travel to Australia for a big fight there with George Kambosos and get his title back.

Every fighter are deserve to take rest like Lopez and distance for a while to recover from their losses especially if it really affect their health (mental health), he needs to recover or move on from his last fight with Kambosos knowing that this fight was his first defeat record that broke his undefeated title. Talking about the upcoming fight of Loma and Commey I am very certain that Loma was a crowd favorite here and yeah if Loma will dispose RC then Loma will possibly the one who were going to fight with Kambosos.

Well, let's see if he will recover, Loma had a good fight after his defeat against Lopez, and now it's Lopez's turn to redeem himself and he is fighting on a heavier division so that's really interesting. Lopez will become a good challenger for the champions in that division which I believe is better than him.

If Lopez chooses to go to 140 lbs, I think it's a good division for him as there's not much name in that weight class, so let's see his next move.

Going back to this fight, I agree that Loma will be the crowd favorite because of his pleasing style, it's not that boring and a thing of beauty seeing him move inside the ring as he is very technical fighter and sometimes he gets a knock out too which makes him a very exciting to watch.

I also like the idea of him chasing Kambosos and get the belt that he once held after he win against Commey this month.

Josh Taylor and then maybe Tank Davis will also move to that division because he also hold a belt here. So this is also a exciting division and there is more money to be made here.

And I don't think that Loma can go move up to 140 lbs, this is too much for him, it's better if he will stay in 135 lbs and try to clean up that division. Get back all his belt, beat Kambosos in Australia and the other regular champions.
5398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 03, 2021, 08:28:18 PM
What a game for the Bulls last night! I got to it a little bit late not getting back from the gym quite on time for the opening tip, but I was able to watch most of the first though the rest of the game.  Once again the Bulls started off super hot, and got up to a huge lead which they allowed the Knicks to come back in the game and even go up at one point. Thankfully the big 3 ( Lavine, DeRozan, Vuc) kept them in it and lead a comeback for the Win.  34 for DeRozan, and 27 for both Lavine and Vuc was awesome to see.  What maybe best of all to see is how Vuc has been playing of late.  We needed him to step up and start playing like the All-Star he is and he's been doing just that of late.

What's scary is that DeRozan started slow in the first quarter but still finished big. Vuc was also hot in the 1st quarter and he has a good 2 games too under his belt. It looks like the Bulls have found it's rhythm again with this big win against the Knicks.

Seems that smart money now is on the Golden State against the Suns. Let's see if Curry will break out of his slump from their first game and will have his usually 30++ points in this game. I also bet on them -6.5.
5399  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we in 2017 again? How do you feel about the price chart today? on: December 02, 2021, 11:00:05 PM
I read an article from cointelegraph that says we have eerie similarities now with 2017. So basing on that, and if the pattern will be the same, the price could hit $300,000, but that's just a prediction though.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-price-dip-matches-october-2017-with-btc-explosion-still-forecast-before-2022

We really don't know what the future holds, if it holds then good for us holders, as many of us will be happy and probably be self made millionaires. But the lessons here is not to be complacent, we still need to prepare for the worst.
The sad part about this current situation is that we had a huge increase during late 2020 and early 2021, and we did not have that in 2016, which means that maybe 2021 was what we had similar to 2017 and not 2022 or 2021 December at least. I am not saying that we can't see 300k, but the increase from 3k to 20k doesn't require the same amount of money that requires us to go from 55k to 300k neither, that 6x increase requires a lot more capital and I am not sure if we have that anymore.

People need to accept the fact that bitcoin may not increase to 100k+ very soon let alone 300k, if we keep wanting for more and more then it would mean that we are going to be upset when that doesn't happen. Obviously it is going to be fine for all of us right now since we have made insane profit in the last 1 year, but eventually people will get bored again when price doesn't give them this much profit for many months even maybe over a year.

I think the bubble has been burst for the $100k prediction this year because obviously, it won't be meet as far as I'm concern because we are not under time pressure. With that said, investors should not be disappointed after all, we all know that those are just predictions and it's not that accurate. Although at the beginning, people are very excited until last week when there is a news of a new variant of Covid-19 that really affected the whole financial market globally. So for me, I have said my mind that $100k is not achievable this year so I have to financially adjust as well.
5400  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs. Ilunga Makabu on: December 02, 2021, 10:32:57 PM
WBC is giving all the advantage to Canelo, Lol. Makabu vs Mchunu first then they fight each and soften each other for Canelo. And then they will just have 4 months to prepare for Canelo.

And then Canelo can watch how both of them fight and win he see who is the winner, he already has a good strategy in his mind in advance. So I'm seeing Canelo going to win whoever he is going to fight next.

That's expected lol. WBC is Mexico-based and its president, Mauricio Sulaiman is Mexican as well so what can we expect hehe.

Yeah, Canelo always has the luxury of choosing whom to fight and everybody else just wanting to win that Canelo sweepstakes, that would be their very paycheck once Canelo chooses them.

But I like the chance of Makabu here once he disposes of Mchunu because of his size advantage. He may not have that lateral movement but at least he has the puncher's chance.

True, Sulaiman loves Canelo and being Mexican and holding a WBC belt, Canelo has his perks and can choose whoever he fights under this organisation.

And since Canelo is the cash cow now, every boxer is after him, like Makabu and Mchunu who will fight first, sort of eliminator but the funny thing is that they belt is on the line. Anyway, I hope Makabu wins so he will get his biggest paycheck and give Canelo a good fight at cruiserweight.
