541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New Rosewill Server Mining Case UPDATE 2 and we have more pics. on: August 17, 2017, 08:20:12 PM
I use that same case with 6 x EVGA 1080Ti and a single EVGA 1200W PSU.

The 1200W PSU is borderline running all 6 cards at 65% power.

EDIT:  How many posts do I need before my pics won't just show up as links?
542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX VEGA 64 ETHEREUM MINING HASHRATE REVEALED!!!!!!! on: August 14, 2017, 06:27:12 PM
And how much power does RX VEGA consume doing that 35 mh/s compared to a 1080Ti doing 32 mh/s?

I agree that's a lot of bold statements, but it sounds like you believe pretty strongly in what you write.

I would love to see strong and professional leadership behind burst.

Running a 272TB burst miner myself and do hope burst will climb out of the 200 satoshi hole and less than $14 million market cap it is currently stuck in.
544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you using low fees? on: August 09, 2017, 05:41:39 PM
I closed out one of my NiceHash bitcoin addresses and mined just a little over 0.01 BTC to trigger a payout, which took place yesterday as follows:

So now after ~ 30 hours, the transactions still hasn't been confirmed and I see this when I click on the TXID:

https://blockchain.info/en/tx/c90be391a3786c87eba349ecf532ac5be798143ebc8519b024ff41324edefa6b

So just wait a few more days I guess?
545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash Multi-GPU, low hashrates on "GPU #0"? on: August 08, 2017, 09:27:02 AM
I'm currently running 3 x 1080Ti with NiceHash.  I don't have a monitor directly connected, but when I open a 4K RDP session to that miner, GPU #0 production drops about 30%.

If I open a RDP session at 1280x1024, there is only a 5% or so drop in production on GPU #0.  With the RDP window minimized, GPU #0 is producing at the same speed as the other 2 GPUs.

This only started after I switched over to using 1x PCIe risers (got 3 more 1080Ti's coming this week).

I run a MSI Z270-A PRO motherboard and my GPUs are EVGA 1080Ti SC Gaming Black Edition (11G-P4-6393-KR) and I'm using V007 risers, Windows 10 latest creators and latest Nvidia drivers (384.94).
546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: are 1x riser cards more efficient then a x8 or x16 on: August 07, 2017, 11:40:00 PM
The only downside I have found with using 1x risers, is that when I do a 4k RDP session to a miner, the production on GPU0 really goes down.  Once I realized this, I reduced my RDP resolution to 1280x1024.

That's not the risk at all. The risk is that you have given a private key (wallet.dat in your case) full of BTC to an untrusted piece of software.

You can still correct this, if your funds haven't been stolen, by sending now your BTC to a new address.
So Bitcoin ABC Wallet is untrusted?  I downloaded it directly from https://www.bitcoinabc.org  The look and feel is identical to Bitcoin Core.

What you're doing is not the safe way recommended on this thread. You should have sent your BTC to a new address or addresses. If the BCH wallet you're using is compromised, it can steal all your coins with the way you have proceeded.

Now about sending BCH at the same time as BTC, it's not possible, so there is no risk of that happening. It's like asking if you can make a single wire transfer with dollars and rubles, not going to happen.
So the 1st post in this thread states to do things in this order:

1. Create a new wallet
2. Send all your BTC to this new wallet
3. On a separate computer, install a BCash wallet and import keys from your original, now empty, BTC wallet

So that is pretty much what I did, only I did step 3 before moving my BTC to the new wallet.  I'm now working on steps 1 and 2.

The reason I'm doing steps 1 and 2 is that I understand there would otherwise be a risk of loosing my BTC balance when I transact my BCC since they both share the same keys.

All 3 computers are on my local LAN with a gateway/firewall to the outside and all the wallets are encrypted.

549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 1 summary on: August 07, 2017, 06:49:57 PM
I have 3 separate computers as follows:

Computer 1 - Bitcoin Core wallet with my current balance

Computer 2 - Bitcoin ABC wallet

Computer 3 - Bitcoin Core wallet fresh install and currently syncing block chain

After installing Bitcoin ABC on computer 2, I let it sync the blockchain.  I then shut down Bitcoin ABC and copied my wallet.dat file over from computer 1 and started the wallet back up.  It is now showing the same balance as computer 1, but BCC.

My question is this, once computer 3 is done syncing and I encrypt the wallet there, am I safe to transfer 100% of the balance from computer 1 to computer 3 without impacting the BCC balance on computer 2?

Thanks!

Hey Rich,

Any update on when you might be shipping out another batch?  Placed order on the 20th and starting to get impatient already.   Grin
551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: July 28, 2017, 08:48:52 AM
So I just stumbled across this thread.  I currently have the following cards:

Rig 1 (dedicated miner) - 3 x EVGA 1080Ti OC Gamer
Rig 2 (workstation/gaming) - 1 x Zotac 1080Ti Arcticstorm
Rig 3 (HTPC) - 1 x 1070 Founders Edition

I'm just running NiceHash on all 3 24/7.  The 1080Ti's are doing about $3 each daily and the 1070 about $1.75.  All of them are running at 60% power limit and the efficiency on all of them is around 4 H/W.

Reading what some of you guys are making per day per 1080Ti, it sounds like I might be missing out a lot more than the 5% or so I figured I was giving up by just letting NiceHash pick what I mine.

I plan to pick up 3 more of the EVGA's for the dedicated rig.
What is your clocks of EVGA please...

Here are the current stats of my 2 primary miners (waiting on some hardware to move the 3rd EVGA over to the rig with 2 in it already):

The Zotac being watercooled is of course running very cool.

EDIT.  Not sure why the image isn't showing up.  Perhaps my low post count?  Anyway, you should be able to click on the above link.

I was wondering about just leaving the lid off, even with the upgraded fans.  I know on my SuperMicro chassis, if I leave the lid off, the temp of the drives actually goes up because the mid-plane fans can no longer create the proper air flow through the front-plane where the drives are located.

I guess I'll try it both ways to see which produce the cooler temps.

Thanks @ poisson.  Just placed an order for those 5 Noctura fans you recommended.  I agree the ones that come with the case are trash.

Wow, that's a lot of cards!  I see your client is doing what he can to exhaust the hot air from that room.  I bet it still gets pretty toasty.
555  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [FS] Drop-in bracket to mount 7 GPUs at the front of a Rosewill server chassis on: July 19, 2017, 09:33:22 PM
I'm stuffing 1080Ti's in my Rosewill case.  These to be exact:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y11DFZ3/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hopefully I will be able to shoehorn them in there.  I also really want to flow to be front to back to match everything else in my rack as aesthetics are important to me.  I'm thinking if I limit myself to 4 1080Ti's, I'll be ok.  What do you guys think?

Here's the rack it will be going in that is busy doing Burst mining already.   Grin
