ehh...i think we need to clarify this on-chain and off-chain thingy. Sooo...let me get this straight:

On-chain = counterwallet.io
Off-chain = Getgems App

Correct? let me know. Then next question:
on which one of the above must i store my GEMZ to get the airdrop? Do i store it on the Getgems App to get the airdrop or on the counterwallet.io to get the airdrop?

Someone dumped pretty hard on Polinex. I wish I had some BTC spare right now.

why did  they dump it? about 240xxx gemz. wow

It was a suspicious dump too, anyone can decide to sell but a tiny bit of patience and they could of got probably 40% or so more BTC. Maybe somone wants to put some into Synero a related project but still selling like that they either are idiots or trying to drag the price down.

You know anything about it? You seem to be quite involved in Telebit?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=961216.msg10529216#msg10529216

Patience is important when selling. Personally I know nothing about it.

lol!!! dump followed by an iOS update that just got from soon to sooner  Cheesy Grin

about getting Digibyte onto a chinese exchange, since bter is not a good idea, how about OKcoin? it is mentioned in this article that it is the largest bitcoin company in china, with a team of 140. Also, i have been hearing a lot of good news about Okcoin for the past few months. if its still too early for that huge jump, i guess btc38?

Edit 1.  Fixed stroke, alignment of text, text size, and worked to smooth transitions (hopefully in a way that didn't make the pacing too slow).

WOOT!! definitely an improvement than the previous one! because it was visually more appealing on my 1st impression. As for the fonts and background color, after reading your reply, i understand where you are coming from. let's keep it then. but the frames still doesn't really look smooth/fluid. what i meant by "more frames" was this - instead of 20 frames/second, can you make it 40 frames/second? Its like gaming - the more frames, the smoother it looks.

cool! just saw it. Thanks for putting in the extra effort to make a sample. this would definitely help in making a more informed choice!
hmm...lets see...if i have to vote, i vote for this one.
would also like to know what others think and which they are voting for.

Hi Everyone,

I finally had a chance to do a bit of work on the "Accepted Here" multilingual images.  Here are 2 different versions.  First, an animated gif.  Second, a banner just for fun.  Hope you like them.  I would welcome feedback about some of the languages ... I guessed at some of them (the ones that are not English).  I also didn't get a chance to completely finish these, in the next couple of days I'll fix the stroke in the first image (and fix some of the minor alignment issues with the different languages).  Although I didn't post them, I went ahead and made separate - static - png versions for each language.

Love it. But just to give my 2 digibytes on how it can be better:

(1) The design for the borders/edges can be improved. As you can see there's a white line on the left and none on the right.
(2) need more frames to the appearing/disappearing of the "Accepted Here" text. it will give it a smoother and more fluid effect.
(3) Change the font - the "Digibyte" one that doesn't disappear just underneath the logo. use Digibyte's font. the one you can find on www.digibyte.co just beside the logo.
(4) If you going to make changes to (3) and use Digibyte's font, changes must be made to the background color. just swap places - on top change to white and bottom change to blue. then change the font color at the bottom to white.

overall design is simple. yup...keep it. improve the above 3-4 points. but they are just my opinion.

Regardless, Good Job!!  Grin

^ If you look at tsu, it's a social network like fb but it's build on attention economy and its app has between 500k to 1m downloads. If you check youtube on tsu you see in comments everyone putting their profile link to get more followers to earn more on the content they share. What im saying is tsu gives you an idea how such model gets received by the wider public which is very positive, getgems can be that to whatsapp, although tsu uses dollars which is widely used but if gemz would have an easy way to convert them in app than it would be great.

putting aside other features that GetGems has like GIFs, secret chats, ability to add friends through contacts, etc.

does Tsu have encryption or security better than Telegram for messages? Or Blockchain Technology [GEMS] for its money/wallet?
does Tsu allow users to use the app itself to make purchases at shops, etc?
does Tsu have any plans to get involve in the Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology Scene?

Tsu and GetGems on Getting Paid
GetGems app allows users to enable advertisements and sponsored messages to get paid. Let me focus on this and just this alone: (1) firstly getting paid just to view ads. how awesome is that? in Tsu, you have to create content by doing whatever you do on FB or Whatsapp to get paid (2) Ads CAN be extremely good if targeted and used properly. Ads are bad if they don't interest the users at all. Ads can mostly be about promotions. i myself would love to keep track of promotions. And to be honest, its a HASSLE to do so when you are keeping track of so many. If GetGems goes global and becomes the Whatsapp 2.0 or the Next-Gen IM, one day i would love to just view ads from specific brands like UNIQLO or Macdonalds or specific categories like food, electronics, etc. Choosing the Ads that we are interested in...it helps a lot. its a win-win-win situation, for users, advertisers and GetGems. Does Tsu have that now? At least its part of GetGems plans.

Tsu was founded in 2013, launch around October 2014. and has 500k - 1M users. It has been about 6 months already. I guess it goes to show how 'powerful' this 'attention economy' and 'getting paid to IM/Facebook' is. But Tsu is going to lag behind soon in a year's time if it doesn't do anything to its app, VS competitors like GetGems and Synerheo.

i have to admit - Tsu is kinda late to start this "Attention Economy" Scene. Might have been great if it was a few years ago. But now its like...GetGems and Synerheo are about to barge in and take the spotlight. Let's not forget GetGems had a few hiccups along the way with its development. But progress has been good to be 100% accurate. just not perfect as we all wanted. But they have been fixing bugs on the spot and have been pretty damn active on this forum when it comes to that.

just to throw in an idea, a suggestion, if i rmb correctly that someone commented about being asked by his/her friend if GetGems has games on it. Hmm...games...Yea...i remember how Windows Live Messenger had games on it. Being able to play with friends. maybe the GEMS Team can just create a very simple game for a start. nothing too graphical or too coded. just super simple ones that we can play with friends while chatting. i was even thinking of having the option to wager/bet GEMS between friends. put a MAX cap on the amount of cos. like 0.00000100 GEMZ maximum? lol...

Let's say iOS app is released next week. And in the first week we get 10,000 new users. What would that do to the price? Would it be $1?

$1 would mean it would pass Litecoin in marketcap.

GEMZ doesn't really have many exchanges or volume yet. Would investors start cashing out if we get buyers?

Once news breaks out we get buyers, volume increases, increases attention, more buyers. If we get on more exchanges = more volume.

lol...$1...that's x69 of the current price. and for just 10k users? lol...let me take a rough guess though. i think i would see a rise of x3-5 of the current price for 10k new users. And it creates a new Ground Floor at around x2 of its current price. as in, the lowest that GEMS' price can fall to. From there on, it slowly rises, quickly rises or rises in an up and down manner.

Anyone want to help us make some international "Accepted Here" graphics and stickers. The idea is to show multiple languages to give people the sense of how international DigiByte is.

After our trip to the Netherlands ( which we will give everyone an update on soon, complete with a video featuring a real life in store DigiByte purchase) we see the need to provide more marketing materials for merchants who accept DigiByte.

Can't wait to see this!

dont forget to make a new blog post about it too!!!

When the advertisement model goes live, then getgems is the first ever messaging app with this kind of model right? Wouldn't this be huge in the IM world?

i strongly believed so. majority of the people now are using Whatsapp. AND...its not free. it may be very cheap because it costs $X.xx/year for their service. But once iOS and airdrop launches, GetGems moves into the Invitation Scene.

just tell your family, friends and collegues "Hey, you are still using whatsapp? i just uninstalled it. Reality Check - you are paying to IM while i am getting paid to IM."

I dont pay to use whatsapp tho, haven't been notified regarding that? hmm i believe after a year i need to pay. Thats why getgems needs to market this big, because its the first in doing such revolutionary thing. Have you seen the advertising model options? its pretty amazing and they might even add more options along the way.

according to whatsapp's website, its $0.99 usd/year. people wouldn't mind paying since its dirt cheap for a year's use [and using it everyday]. in some countries or telecomm companies, it might by bundled together with their subscription plans. therefore, making it less noticeable as a Pay-to-use App. Whatsapp isn't a pay-once-to-use btw.

Yea...getgems needs to market it big. might be a good idea to market it on Youtube videos? advertising through TVs is expensive and difficult to reach out to people in all countries. marketing it on the internet where crazy high traffic can be found like Youtube might be worth considering. but i think a more interesting and engaging ad will be needed. one that will cause people to click on the ad instead of skipping it.

I am usually an anti-ad viewer whenever i watch youtube videos. But for the past 1-2 years, ads have become increasingly interesting to the point where by some are so good at catching one's attention within the 1st few seconds and there is a "Gripping Moment" when you just simply have to check out what is the ad about.

Hello everyone,

My name is Dor and I am Synereo's founder and CEO.
Daniel and I have known each other for over a year and have known about each other's projects before they were even introduced to the public!
We're friends from the local Tel Aviv Bitcoin community and have collaborated on other projects before.

Daniel was at my house when I first introduced Synereo to my close friends from our community. I am the one who wrote the main text in the first post of this very thread.
"The beauty of recent developments based on the innovative Bitcoin technology is that they allow the public to claim control over previously centralized endeavours... "
Daniel first heard about the concept of "attention economy" from me, when describing Synereo. Smiley

We've been helping each other all throughout these past few months. Worry not! This space is large enough for all of us to grow our projects and user bases in.

I invite you all to look into what we're building and see where our project differs from GEMS'. You'll see that we have a lot in common in spirit, but we are doing something very, very different.

Read this everyone. All about attention-economy.
GetGems is to Whatsapp, Synereo is to Facebook?

http://cointelegraph.com/news/113724/synereo-attention-economy-and-distributed-cloud-to-deliver-next-generation-social-networks

their crowdsale is about to start soon. GetGems' crowdsale ended last year. Although Synereo isn't competing with GetGems, this piece of news just made me happier that i have chosen to invest into GetGems last year. So far, there isn't any other IM app that has to do with attention-economy. GetGems was the 1st and it seems it is still the only one.  Grin even if Synereo is indirectly competing with GetGems on certain aspects [just saying in case], the GetGems Team are already busy working on it while Synereo has yet to start their crowdsale.

Now...aren't we all glad that GetGems was already on to this early on? YES!

May i also suggest a list of past transactions. with all the GEMZ sending and receiving here and there between friends, would be nice to have a history of it. Just for reference purposes. and useful too to know where one's GEMZ get sent to if one's GEMZ suddenly goes missing.

bitcoin wallet app, BitX, has a sleek design with simple straightforward functions/features. Worth a look.
play/explore around with it, get an idea or think of a better idea than BitX, build it.

What if you could be part of the money printing process?
While a dollar might be sent from one person’s bank to a credit card processor to another person’s bank, DigiBytes are sent directly from person to person. You can help make this possible and receive new DigiBytes as they are created by donating your computing power to the network.

Awesome!

hmm...i was thinking "...you can help to make this...". but if you are able to say it in a certain manner, it can sound right.

everything else is fine in my opinion. because its going to be spoken and not read, its more flexible [in other words, don't have to obey some English Rules] and sentence-structuring doesn't need to be too perfect, as long as its sounds 'right'. i don't really know how to explain it. its more of when one uses the language more often, you will be better at knowing what is right and wrong.

Content wise for an introduction to Digibyte, i guess the Basic stuffs are all there.  Grin

just one problem though - "DigiBytes can even be sent over social media, helping to connect legacy business models with up and coming millennial consumers." i think many people wouldn't be able to understand what this means. for myself who have done lots of research about Bitcoin and Altcoins and their uses, i roughly know what it means. Tipping am i right? but i believed people who don't know a lot about cryptocurrencies and their uses, its difficult to understand that sentence. may want to rephrase it. To be frank, i myself don't really understand this part - "to connect legacy business models with up and coming millennial consumers.". Care to explain?

Also the icons to my eyes on the wallet look a bit low resolution and pixilated, anyone else think so? Plus do you need to cut off the Bitcoin logo on the wallet? I'm guessing it was the best option possible. I think you guys are very talented but also your team as it grows might benefit from a visual designer who can pull tech and functions together.

Later I guess you know you are going to need an update app alert inside the app otherwise people will miss all these new developing functions.

which 'icons'? those in the wallet? looks fine to me on my Sony Xperia SP smartphone. didn't give me the 'low quality' impression and i don't think its bad either. looks fine. maybe not so on a Tablet like iPad due to their bigger screens, etc. may want to double check on this on the iPad. the only icon (or rather, image) that did look bad was the one at the QR Code screen. the QR code picture and the Gems picture both looks like it got stretched vertically. not good. GetGems Team...improve the image please. Thanks.

'cut off the bitcoin logo on the wallet'? you mean the reflection?

+1 on the update app alert. a must have. may i suggest putting it somewhere on the left side where the menu is. or if its possible, make it appear at the bottom left hand corner no matter where you go while using GetGems. its one corner that doesn't seem to be in used at all. So that it won't be so close to other buttons. Also, don't let it just be an alert. make it a shortcut to GooglePlay so that users can conveniently and quickly update the GetGems app. Tap on it and a message appears "Update GetGems?" with "Yes", "No" buttons.

WOOT!

Many steps in the right direction. Loving the new look on the wallet and the functions that came along with it. i wanted to feedback that the digits were too big but looks like they noticed it too and fixed it already. Just got to love it when GEMS Team bring in many other features besides just the cores of the project. This proves and clearly shows that they are delivering more than what they have promised.

Oh and not forgetting, looks like they are STILL able to deliver it earlier VS their initial plan. the initial plan was around June/July 2015 if memory serves me well?  And it could have been WAY earlier if Telegram had updated their iOS. A most unfortunate and unforeseen obstacle that stood in their way.

Know what you are getting folks. keep yourself well updated. Be sure to do your tracking well and fall not to FUDs.

GREAT JOB Gems Team! You deserve it!

Everyone,

We are working on a second DigiByte promotional video with a professional voiceover. So far here is the script we have. What does everyone think? What other hit points can we make?

Remember our goal is to keep things as simple and straight forward as possible.

Quote
Okay, so, what is a DigiByte?

DigiByte is a form of currency. Kinda like dollars, euros, yen, or even bitcoin.

But unlike traditional currencies, DigiByte doesn’t require a financial institution for transactions to take place.

While a dollar might be sent from one person’s bank to a credit card processor to another person’s bank, DigiBytes are sent directly from peer-to-peer.

And by cutting out the middleman, you’re cutting out most of the processing fees that typically come along with each transaction.

But each transaction still needs to be verified, to ensure that someone doesn’t spend the same DigiByte twice.

So each DigiByte transaction is verified electronically by other peers in the DigiByte network - and they get a little reward for doing so.

DigiBytes can be sent and received anywhere in the world with an internet connection.

Unlike Bitcoin, DigitByte transactions are fully confirmed within 3 minutes, instead an hour.

And DigiByte’s state-of-the-art security makes it 5 times more secure than Bitcoin.

You send data in megabytes and gigabytes, why not send money in DigiBytes?

Get your DigiByte wallet today at digibyte.co

should it be "instead of an hour"  on line 9?

yes, i think so too. it should be "instead of an hour" on Line 9.

SUGGESTION: You can send and receive Digibytes anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
REASON: Putting the user + Digibyte into the picture together rather than solely focusing on Digibyte. From what i have learn from my Marketing lessons if i am not mistaken, never separate the Consumer and the Product. important to repeatedly make links/connections between the 2 of them.
