Thank you for this great service! Without you, MRO would not have been in the same place as we are now!

Will withdraw my funds in a few minutes.

edit: I think he deserves a trust rating! Wink
Will add some trust when I got all my funds back Smiley
Thank you, appreciated!

Cryptonote Exchange, can't you just enable Payment ID for all so that we can get the coins out??

There is no payment id feature in the code. He's doing them manually which is why he doesn't want to have to deal with 700 manual payouts. If he did, you would likely have to wait a very long time for your coins.

Exactly this. With payment id I can only do one transfer at once because multiple payment id's is not supported. If you have 500 MRO or more in your account I will do it manually for you. I will also do it if you are really desperate.

I just transferred some Monero out of crypto note to Poloniex without reading the small print about using the payment ID.

What does this mean. have I lost my coins ?

Poloniex will have received your coins, but they have no way to identify who sent it. You will have to submit the proof you have, e.g amount sent, transaction id (I can provide this if you create a ticket) and hope that nobody else claims the amount.

CryptoNote Exchange is shutting down

Before you freak out: No, we did not get hacked. Yes, 100% of the funds are in our reserves and secure.

This exchange was launched first and foremost to bring monero to exchanges. As I have stated previously most features were disabled and a basic but functional exchange was setup for this purpose. Long term my plan is to launch a much more comprehensive exchange on the domain "exchange.to". In that sense, cryptonote exchange has served as a beta test for this project and I am very pleased with how smooth everything went.

Since our launch, other and more established exchanges has opened for trading of monero and bytecoin and this has resulted in declining volume and liquidity here.

We peaked at ~250 btc volume within 24 hours. At most we held more than 10% of the entire MRO supply in our reserves, at this point, we hold ~64k MRO, ~600k BCN, ~100 BTC. We have 745 members.

Running an exchange is great responsibility as funds must be secure at all times, there can be no critical bugs and there is an on-going need for support work. With the maintenance work of unreliable MRO/BCN wallets, this responsibility and low volume combined I have decided that my time is better spent with full focus on further development.

Running this exchange has given me great insight into hurdles that must be overcome for the exchange to be truly great and I would like to thank everyone for participating.

I have disabled deposits and placement of orders. Please withdraw your funds. As a gesture of good will, any customer who holds 500 MRO / 5M BCN or more, you will be allowed to withdraw using payment id (e.g to move to another exchange), to do so, simply submit a support ticket with payment id and then request withdraw.

Previous estimations have proven to be completely off so I'm not feeling too confident in the new "in 1.5 months" estimation.

If we read the blog it says testnet should be out by the end of April or early May. Not sure who is behind their twitter account but in March it was stated: "we expect to start testing it on testnet later this week Smiley". That twitter entry is from 31st of March, so what happened? Gnosis didn't just draw his own day job out of a hat, it's been there all along so surely any estimation would be made with that taken into account.

If we look at the github commits there is an awful lot of small fixes, space indents and typo fixes. Not much actual code for zerocoin. Is he holding it back to avoid competition or is there really almost no progress being made?

If zerocoin was implemented today anoncoin would increase a lot in value, no doubt. If Gnosis is realistically able to finish this in 1.5 months with his current day job what does it take for him to quit today and work 100% on zerocoin and how soon will it finish? If he would give some info on his needs perhaps the community would donate to make this happen. I certainly would. I hold 5-digit amount of anoncoins and realize they are either going to be worthless or turn into a little fortune depending on this implementation and when it is released. I'd be willing to put up a bounty to make this happen. But right now there is no indication of anything going on and why the estimation turned out to be an epic failure.

Why did the testnet planned for release first month of April suddenly become 2-4 months delayed? How could the estimation be off by 2-4 months? Any comment on that?

Is there some minimal limit for sending BCN? I sent from my wallet to my wallet 1 BCN but the transaction was 300 BCN not 1 BCN.
If anybody knows could you explan it? Did I something wrong?
Thank you.

You only sent 1. Like with bitcoin, the rest is change (money that is returned to your wallet). Fee is 0.01,
"When the output of a transaction is used as the input of another transaction, it must be spent in its entirety. Sometimes the coin value of the output is higher than what the user wishes to pay. In this case, the client generates a new Bitcoin address, and sends the difference back to this address. This is known as change.

Say you want to buy a candy bar ($1) from a store. You open your wallet (fiat wallet) and inside there is a single $20 bill. What is the min amount you can pay? It isn't $1; you can't rip up 1/20th of the bill and give it to the cashier. You need to pay $20 and since you only owe $1, the cashier gives you back $19."

Has anyone managed to withdraw any moneros from cryptonote.exchange.to?

I sent a request several hours ago to my local monero wallet and no luck.

They say in their website:

Q: What about withdraws?

Since our system does not host funds in hotwallets, outgoing payments are processed manually. Once the exchange has gained suffient funds through fees we will setup a hotwallet using those funds. This will ensure that customer funds are not at risk.

Q: But I want INSTANT withdraw?

Even though this is an inconvenience we're hoping that the knowledge of your funds being stored securely may suppress the urge to constantly deposit/withdraw in fear of another "ops, got hacked, 25% funds lost".

Anyone got any withdrawal today? when did you request it?

Thanks
If you requested several hours ago it should be processed by now. If not it's time to submit a ticket.
552  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CryptoNote Exchange on: May 19, 2014, 05:16:40 PM
I don't like having to use that command to deposit, because you're forcing us to not use the anonymity features of it, which is the whole point of the coin...
You should be able to replace 0 with whatever you want. I am just trying to help with that command. But payment id must be included.

Will you please consider adding Boolberry BBR? It should be pretty easy.
Not at this time. There is a lot of manual work because the wallet freezes, I wouldn't want to add one more unless that issue is fixed.

How long does a withdrawal usually take on the cryptonote exchange? 12 hours? This is the longest I've ever waited for a withdrawal to process  Sad
Bytecoin withdraws was completed a few hours ago. You must be prepared to wait up to 24 hours, but often it will be sent within few hours.

Right now 1000 MRO = 1 BTC... or around that range.

Also, great site!

Does anyone have a link to a good block explorer and or is there interest in supporting one? The new one that was just posted seems to be down and has been down for some period of time now. I'm still trying to track down some missing transactions and was just wondering.

New escrowed seller order. I guess there are some people who don't like the exchange. Fair enough.

The exchange is still very new and possibly buggy. For example, there are orders of negative size in the orderbook. I don't know what to make of that except random bug.
Manual withdrawals seem to be a problem for many, but I can't see why.
Just want to add that the order book is not actually negative, it only seems that way for users with poor internet connection, when connection to the websocket is unstable and they miss out on some trades the order book may look mismatched. This can be solved by clicking the blue refresh button, then the data displayed will be correct and latest.

I personally don't have such issue, but I can imagine that many do. In the future I'll look into options for improving the visual experience also for users with connection instabilities.

Updated first post with our public MRO and BCN addresses. I recommend checking that address on our site matches those specified in this topic for extra security.

Also, for those who like IRC, we are available at freenode #exchange.to

does the exchange do any logging?

a canary on the front page would be good.

I believe firefox don't show these favicons, but works in chrome.

How long do withdrawals of MRO normally take? I know they're manual.
I don't have any specific schedule, at least once every 24 hour is my goal, but when I can i'll make them several times per day. I have been doing that so far.
