where can I buy this coin within its market value?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=512747.msg7125148#msg7125148

Here is all places to trade.

I am not surprised there were already a lot of improvements here - like this one posted by babybonobo!

Quote
An email exchange with someone at CryptoNote that might help others clear up some details...

"Good afternoon,
I was hoping to hear more details about the developers of ByteCoin. There are rumors and fear being spread around online saying that basically 80% of the ByteCoins were ninja-mined from 2012 up until BCN's recent "public release". I can confirm on the blockchain that 83% of the coins are mined already, but I was wondering if CryptoNote had any historical information or more details about working with ByteCoin devs? Who and how many people actually mined these 154 billion coins?
Thank you for your time... "

RE:CryptoNote

"Dear ----,
It is not of our interest to judge the decisions of Bytecoin developers and its outcomes. The coin was indeed released in July 2012 in a cooperation with us. Bytecoin developers are killer coders and are responsible for the vast majority of the CryptoNote's current code base. However, when the coin was released the two teams took completely different paths. CryptoNote went back to the researches, while Bytecoin was focused on building the cryptocurrency and the community. There are polar views on the current distribution of Bytecoin. What we can confirm is that the coin indeed had several groups of early adopters (related to scientific, educational, and gaming industries) and is likely to be spread among at least a thousand users (may well be more). I hope this helps."

I agree DStrange conclusion about devs inability to change current situation and affect already mined my first-miner teams

This website is lagging atm. I too can't find actual blockchain on it.

That's really weird but it shows that block appeared in in July, 2012. That's impossible.

https://bytecoin.org/whitepaper.pdf  - it doesn't work. Is there another link to read White paper??

Where did you find that link? It's either https://bytecoin.org/downloads/whitepaper.pdf or https://cryptonote.org/whitepaper.pdf - they're both from the websites.

I've found it here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=512747.msg5661039#msg5661039

You should update info on the 1st page

LOL. With current price dump is not possible. Price officially hit the bottom. Grin

good time to buy some. and that's what I do! Cool

+1

That's what I am doing - buying coins as I am sure after this improvement there won't be fud and a lot of words about ''pre-mining''

I just wish I was the member of one of that teams. Grin

Wow, flower1024, that's significant breakthrough! You really did a great work.

As I remember Hugo and Dante were mentioned at the old byteoin.org (https://bytecoin.org/old/index.html):
Quote
07/14/2012
"V.Hugo" team are with us now.
11/29/2012
"Dante" has started working.

"V.Hugo" is mentioned even twice.
Quote
07/15/2013
"V.Hugo" is back, be ready for increase

I guess that's those mining teams johnmatrix told about. However there were also news about "The R guy" and "Einstein" on the website. So we have to find their quotes too.
It seems to me there can also be such mining teams as "Nietzsche", "Galilei", and "Gibson" who posted quotes from these authors to BCN blockchain.

As I’ve written there might be also other languages. There are some Korean and Russian coordinates for example, but my approach was not able to extract any of Russian or Korean symbols. I think there might be much more teams.

Okay then, I guess there should be a lot of different teams with a different amount of mined coins. I think it would be nice to perform the analysis of how frequent we meet one or another quote and then we can try to find out which group is controlling the most BCN at the moment. Smiley

Need to make a huge research work and analysis all block chains to find out the major team

Ive told you about the teams, you didnt believe me.. i can add i know at least 3 more quoting teams which were not mentioned

each time can have even more than 20 people, there is no rule on that

How did you get that? Are you the member of one of them??  as according to your post you've been in BCN since 2013

Secondly, what is this idea of top-secret keys no one has heard of?

Several forks of bytecoin have been launched - this type of keys would have surely been mentioned somewhere already.

The basics of the whole philosophy of cryptonote and bytecoin is decentralization and anonimity - there cannot be such a thing as a secret key to destroy coins.

THIS. WTF is going on. How can someone just have his one billion coins deleted by the devs?

Nobody ever destroyed any old bytecoins.. my coins are more than year old and are safe, Ive just rechecked them.

the devs never communicate with the community, just with the team leaders (something like pools).. and the leaders have to pass the info to their group members.

looks like somebodys trolling you.. there are no news about burning, there are no such secret keys to destroy bytecoins.

I used to trade on spreadsheet one but since there is Cryptonote and Poloniex I've started to trade there. and, to tell the truth, in the time there was no official exchange there was no  dump

Bytecoin (BCN) - true anonymity, privacy protection and only CPU-mining

CryptoNote Exchange is shutting down

Before you freak out: No, we did not get hacked. Yes, 100% of the funds are in our reserves and secure.

This exchange was launched first and foremost to bring monero to exchanges. As I have stated previously most features were disabled and a basic but functional exchange was setup for this purpose. Long term my plan is to launch a much more comprehensive exchange on the domain "exchange.to". In that sense, cryptonote exchange has served as a beta test for this project and I am very pleased with how smooth everything went.

Since our launch, other and more established exchanges has opened for trading of monero and bytecoin and this has resulted in declining volume and liquidity here.

We peaked at ~250 btc volume within 24 hours. At most we held more than 10% of the entire MRO supply in our reserves, at this point, we hold ~64k MRO, ~600k BCN, ~100 BTC. We have 745 members.

Running an exchange is great responsibility as funds must be secure at all times, there can be no critical bugs and there is an on-going need for support work. With the maintenance work of unreliable MRO/BCN wallets, this responsibility and low volume combined I have decided that my time is better spent with full focus on further development.

Running this exchange has given me great insight into hurdles that must be overcome for the exchange to be truly great and I would like to thank everyone for participating.

I have disabled deposits and placement of orders. Please withdraw your funds. As a gesture of good will, any customer who holds 500 MRO / 5M BCN or more, you will be allowed to withdraw using payment id (e.g to move to another exchange), to do so, simply submit a support ticket with payment id and then request withdraw.

I'm freaking out! What just happened to the exchange rate? Sell at 3 satoshis on Poloniex? It was at 8 satoshis last night on cryptonote exchange. There were some nice pumps on cryptonote exchange while on Poloniex it stayed very low. I hope BCN buyers will move to Poloniex...

I'm thinking about mining BCN on a shitty laptop. Good idea or no?
I'm mining BCN on a couple shitty laptops myself.

How do you do that? I tried to do some pool mining on bcn.extremepool.org using mining_proxy and minerd, in order to avoid high memory requirements and 64Bit requirement. But I did not succeed at all. Probably also here is 64 Bit needed? What line you are using  for mining-proxy? Or are you using http-protocol? I tried this but got some "16-bit-dos" error... Laptop is "Centrino Duo", OS is WinXP.

Thanks.

Cryptonote has closed and I am left with bytecoin to somehow transfer out of there! I do not have a bytecoin wallet and cannot find one to download, except at github! I am not computer savvy enough to know how to use this. Does anyone know where or how I can get my bytecoin out of cryptnote? I also have a very small amount of btc which was change for the bytecoin. I have sent  ticket to cryptonote and they may help me to solve this, as I am sure I am not the only one without a bytecoin wallet. Any suggestions will be gratefully received/ Thanks

Not sure, my laptops just run windows 7 home premium 32bit and I just use the 32bit GUI miner from MinerGate. Since you use WinXP you won't be able to do that. So I'm really not sure, sorry.

Just download the Bytecoin wallet from the original post, here is a link https://mega.co.nz/#!cBwDEQYB!SaJIPKtQFo4MiUBnYBOQhQF1t7VCp10Knd_tM3s306E Once thats downloaded click run, make a password and boom. You will have to wait for the wallet to sync, to find out if it has synced or not you will have to check the second command box, if it says "Synchronized OK" or something along those lines then you are synced with the network. In the other command box you should type "address" and then it will show you the address. If you want to copy the address then in the folder where the wallet is located you can find your address in a text document called "wallet.bin.address". If you need help with any commands just type help in the command box. If you send your Bytecoin from your wallet to an exchange, make sure you use the transaction id as well as the address.
