Any more news on these physical litecoins?
543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: September 24, 2013, 11:02:31 PM
Been using coinmarketcap.com for some time now and never realised this thread was here. An excellent source of info that my friends and I use regularly.

Do you have any plans to add IOC which had recently been revived and is also back on Vircurex, see here:

544  Bitcoin / Press / 2013-09-16 Money Saving Expert - The day I bought beer... on: September 19, 2013, 10:33:53 AM

If you're going to state that Bitcoin is volatile you should also mention its deflationary nature.

Seems to be another article by someone who's read just enough to understand it superficially but believes they have researched it thoroughly.

Great quote. Why trust when you can prove? It's like the difference between religious belief and scientific reason.

Mt. Gox is asking for a laundry list of things, including: a declaration that the partnership contract is void; the return of $62,258.70, C$40 dollars and 1,428.8 Bitcoins (worth roughly $165,000 today); and a constructive trust to return the approximately $5 million in customer accounts to the control of Mt. Gox.

Really?? 40 Canadian dollars? Please tell me I'm misinterpreting...

Anyway, I hope they can settle this out of court and in a timely fashion. This kind of quibbling between two of the largest BTC services is not exactly great for consumer confidence. Not that MtGox has really ever been good for consumer confidence.

+1 lol

Scan read it so missed that one.
547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][I0C] Resurrection, memory problems and instabilitiy fixed! on: September 16, 2013, 11:38:28 PM
Can someone answer my questions or point me at useful sources to answer them:

1. How many IOC coins have currently been mined?

2. What is the planned cap or method of growth of supply?

3. What is the approximate block completion time?

4. Can anyone point me at a mining calculator so I can calculate my mining abilities - I can mine SHA-256 at 1200MHs (or scrypt at 1200KHs).

Another article on MTGOX counter-suing.

IOC seems to have appeared on Vircurex.

Can't find any announcements on this in the threads however?
550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / PPC Peercoin P2Pcoin price fluctuations on: September 14, 2013, 08:29:22 AM
PPC's price seems to have climbed recently. Does anyone know what may be contributing to this?
551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How are you spreading the word about bitcoins? on: September 14, 2013, 08:12:05 AM
I've created these:

    • Accepting Bitcoin: A guide for organisations
    • Accepting Bitcoin: A guide for UK organisations
    • Accepting Bitcoin: A cheeky guide for Brighton organisations

Signed up about 10 organisation in the UK, mainly Brighton/Sussex area to take it and am working on about another 20 more at the moment.
552  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone else not able to withdraw BTC from MTGOX? on: September 13, 2013, 02:58:25 PM
Ok; my transaction has appeared two days later, now with three confirmations.
553  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone else not able to withdraw BTC from MTGOX? on: September 13, 2013, 02:21:00 PM
I have emailed their help with no response for 14 hours now.

Coming up for 24 hours now and still nothing back from MTGOX's support...

Edit: just got this from them:

...Thank you for the email. Few BTC withdrawals are delayed because of the multiple transactions requested at the same time and the transaction should eventually go through. We will update you once it is complete...

Not sure what that means though.

An interview with the Virtual Doctors.

They are looking for places to buy computers and cameras with BTC so if the community has any pointers it would be welcomed.

558  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone else not able to withdraw BTC from MTGOX? on: September 12, 2013, 07:08:15 PM
email support, they will help you out. I've had problems occasionally (with much larger amounts of BTC) and they sorted it out. They aren't trying to steal 3 BTC.

I agree; I don't think they are trying to steal 3BTC. I think its incompetence rather than anything malicious.

I believe they are migrating their servers, so it may be due to that. If so a competent company should put measures in place to prevent this sort of thing occurring during a migration or upgrade.

I have emailed their help with no response for 14 hours now.

A successful company will scale itself appropriately to meet the growing demands of its users and business activities. However I get the feeling that MTGOX are trying to carry on as they did 3 years ago with the same set-up and this is clearly not working. I was initially very impressed with MTGOX but that has started to fade over the months: customers are in the dark about what's happening and I feel like this tiny organisation with small scale infrastructure is being crushed under the weight of the current user-base and carrying on with everyone there reassuring themselves it will all be fine.
559  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone else not able to withdraw BTC from MTGOX? on: September 12, 2013, 07:35:42 AM
Did you pay a transaction fee?

Yes; but even without a miner's fee the unconfirmed transaction should be propergated on the network.

Evidance would suggest MTGOX have not sent it.
560  Economy / Service Discussion / Anyone else not able to withdraw BTC from MTGOX? on: September 12, 2013, 06:49:32 AM
I sent 3.41303654 BTC to address 1K17GPhzyA3MjC5wH9jEiQQz2bjdcchARL but it has not shown up 8 hours later.

See here:

https://blockchain.info/address/1K17GPhzyA3MjC5wH9jEiQQz2bjdcchARL

Wondering if MTGOX are upgrading their servers; but this is still no excuse for missing transactions imo.
