Sadly I agree with all the above. The NRS momentum is dying - other coins are overtaking it in popularity now. NRS is an innovative and unique coin but if people forget about it and go on to the next big thing then what is good is that?
NRS needs more attention. If it doesn't get it, this coin isn't going to go very far.
Apart from fixing the wallet, we are now focusing on building products that work with NRS. After the first two DACs we will begin focusing on financial service DAS. This will take longer but will be well worth the wait. If you look at our git repositories and the activity there, you'll see that an announcement is imminent. |

Hi all,
Due to the seriousness of the issue, we have diverted dev attention back to the wallet. We are currently testing a new version, the source is available on the git. All issues have been attributed to a set of rouge nodes that are broadcasting malicious blockdata. This could be intentional, as someone tries to force PoW or zombie nodes that maintain old versions and have -setgenerate true.
Either way we are currently trying to build up nodes that have the correct blockchain, as you all know the Block explorer is one of them. If you use linux or build your own clients from source, you can do so immediately.Windows wallet that blocks bad clients will be available shortly.

We have identified the problem and will be testing our fix, it seems many are connecting to a set of bad nodes still running the older version that are still trying to mine.

ok, i have had no problems setting up my own boxes, i have 3 running client now without issues.
When you installed the new client, did windows not ask you about allowing it internet access? I noticed that this may be a reason why it does not continue from where it left off.

Hi Barwizi, I think I found part of the problem: The links to the new wallets .exe and .zip files you posted do not seem to work. I tried running these in two new VM's and they just crash at startup. Same goes for the wallets that are currently available through Noirds.com. Finally I tried downloading a wallet through link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwGL9FkcBurEc21tTk8wMzFZemM/edit?usp=sharingThis wallet does work in my VM and it's syncing now. After it has finished syncing in my VM, I will copy the files in my %appdata% folder back to my laptop and see if it will work there as well. But please check the links on Noirds.com and the links you posted here in the forum, because they seem to link to disfunctional client files. And I tried finding the .conf file to PM to you, but I can't find it. What should be the location of this file ? Thanks for your help C:\Users\(YourUsernamehere)\AppData\Roaming\NoirShares is the location on windows 7 i'll ask the guys to check the website links. I will be available only on skype tonight, for anyone who has questions. |

The problem for me is that this doesn't work (!!!) If I delete the old client, clear everything in %appdata% except for wallet.dat and then install the new client, the client will not start ! Only after I copy everything back into my %appdata% folder, I can start the client again. And then I have the same problem again. Also please give me the command for adding nodes. And what is the syntax ? The problem witrh syncing is due to the nodes you are connecting to. This is because others have not updated and continue to use the old wallet which still tries to accept PoW block past the 50k mark.
Please try using the node i have told you since it is on the right version and is not having any sync issues.
As for the wallet crash, i need more details such as error messages, or can you post the last part of your debug.log?
Also, let it run a while, give it time to resolve, as you know there ave been thousands of nodes, so it has to work through them and find the active ones then sort through them to find the correct block number, mine took ~ ten minutes from scratch to sync.
We're using Marios nodes. I am trying the noirds.com as suggested by barwizi.. and its the same file.. working.. as I stated too... and after 1 minute.. it syncs.. My main computer with wallet, -> http://gyazo.com/7b1b1975374ba73c1c6eb06b7104f284 keeps syncing but nothing happens. Used the block explorer node, everything was fine yesterday. Installing latest noirshares client on clean windows 8.1, it crashes at start. Or upload the latest full blockchain? And post addnode list. Later today we will setup some highspeed seednodes. I have never used any win8 variant but i will look into it. |

Hello again, I would like to announce that Noir Group Multi-Pool is once again online, it currently supports sha and scrypt mining. Basically, it mines the most profitable coin at that moment then pays out NRS to you. Since the end of PoW, effectively, you can get NRS through buying it or mining on our multi-pool. |

new wallet just crashes win8.1 exe or zip...nothing works  Are you still having the same problem? The issue is that some simply have not updated their wallets. Use he block explorer address as the only node and it will sync. |
